I own 4 dogs and 5 reptiles. I truly WISH to give all my families business to Super Pets. I've been coming here for 3 years to purchase my dog food for my dogs. Recently last month I re-purchased my usual dog food and I was awakened at midnight by my small dachshunds vomiting all over me in disbelief. At 3am my large Cane Corso and my American Bully were throwing up all over our kids in their room. I retuned back to Super Pets and indicated that the food made my dogs sick. After another return visit and short apology, I grabbed another bag of food and returned back to our home in Tustin. Voila, opened the bag and its smelled rotten and full of chemical tinge again. After a 2nd visit back to Super Pets to return yet a 2nd bag of food and yet a 2nd apology, I simply asked for a larger bag upgrade. And I was appalled that they were arguing with me over asking for a larger bag after I took now 3 visits back and forth from Tustin to Orange (easily over $100 of my time driving back and forth) and 4 gallons of vomit from 4 dogs in my home, and possible vet fees. After informing the manager Gabriel that their pricing was skewed dramatically on their reptile feed by over 50%, he was willing to work out a deal for me to keep my business for rodent feed, so I would keep returning. Today after needing more reptile feed, I returned to find that my deal would no longer be honored after the manager was SCOLDED by the ownership, I'm sure they are the reason the reptile feed pricing is so skewed compared to local stores. Small rats are usually $3.99 NOT $6.49. I'm horribly disappointed in the level of service and the disintegrating quality of the dog food here at Super Pets, the second I find a source for our dog kibble somewhere else, I will not be returning to Super Pets or referring any further business there. Gabriel the manager is great, but it seems the ownership is here to make money on their customers hand over fist without any value for them or retention methods. Worked there for two years a while back. I found out the main manager was a major weirdo with some of the younger staff members. It also did not sit right with me on how the upper management "handled" sick animals. Once I was able to afford/find another job I left and never looked back. So sad to see this place go, it used to be so full and happy. I went it to grab my usual and to my surprise everything was just about empty or close to it. I'm not sure if they are really going out of business but the only other store I've seen this empty is Sears. They didn't have my guys favorite treats so he was a little disappointed when I came to the car with nothing ( we went to another store and he got his snack) There was only two girls up front talking, they didn't ask me if I needed anything when I came in or when I left. They seemed young so I can't blame them for not caring. I really hope the owner is doing okay, I know health wise he wasn't always in the best shape but in this economy who could blame them. Love that they have more options/flavors available of every brand. This place carry's healthy brands of foods and good quality accessories for my dog. I love coming to these pet stores, it seems like they take pretty good care of all the animals they have in there. It was my first time in here but I'm always passing by it since it's next to my gym. I have to say the customer service and professionalism here is top notch. Everyone here is both informed and caring about animals and how to care for them long-term and consciously. We were in the market for hamsters for our kiddos. We purchased a teddy hamster for its calm nature and a dwarf hamster- we had it for a week but we called because we worried as it was very hyper and didn't seem to be eating properly. They have a return policy (a win for their animals and the owners) so we ended up trading for a second teddy hamster (ironically larger and only slightly less energetic) but at least is able to be held and has been eating like a champ! The hamsters are healthy, well-cared for and we know we can come back for anything that's needed in the future! This is far superior to PetSmart. read more

Here's the business review: Oh man. If only every pet store were this helpful. Sure it's not as huge as the giant corporate chains like PetSmart (which is also good), but the staff are so friendly and the inventory is great! Lots of higher end foods along with a few of the normal more generic brands. You'll find Arcana and Orijen here alongside AvoDerm, Nulo, and other great formula brands. You'll also find the not-so-great-but-still-ok brands like Science Diet and stuff (read the ingredients, it's not as great as you think) but there's a decent range of supplies here for every budget. =) The store is like 65% focused on dogs, but that's totally understandable. The cat section is towards the back right corner and there's a lot of stuff to look at. Take your time and read the labels. Your pet will thank you for your attention. They also have birds, guinea pigs, sometimes bunnies, and other cute fuzzy things you can look at in addition to their supplies. Parking is easy and you're just a short drive down Chapman to the Orange Circle so you can enjoy a little outing with your dog or just grab an ice cream for yourself since you're already out. ^_^ Be kind to your fur baby! They love you like no human can or will. Note: Fostering is an amazing opportunity to help animals in need with all expenses covered (depending on the organization). You just provide the home and the love. Senior cats are just as loving and deserving of attention as kittens are, so don't be afraid to look into helping senior animals as well. Please consider helping or donating if you can. =) Here's the story of our adopted senior (10+ years) kitty, London: So about 3 months ago, we decided to do a foster-to-adopt with the organization OC Community Cats. We've been talking about getting a cat (for me) for a while even before the pandemic. Over a year ago, my unofficially adopted stray (named NotMyCat) passed after coming to visit me for 3 years. We grew attached to him and I've always loved having a cat around. They bring such a calm energy to the house. After the pandemic started and some time had passed since NotMyCat was here, I started working from home full-time. We talked a bit and decided that when/if the right one popped up (I've only rescued, never bought), then I could bring him/her home. The world works in funny ways because only two days later, I received a message from a friend. Her drum teacher's wife was fostering a cat (during the heatwave of early Summer) but there was an issue between the foster cat and the family's regular cat. I heard that the foster kitty was staying in a crate in the garage and I immediately said, "Bring him here! He can't be in that heat!" The next day, he was brought by an amazing volunteer named Linda. She brought treats, catnip, a carrier, and toys. The organization provides everything (including food, litter, and vet bills) for all fosters so that was amazing. We looked into the carrier and saw this GIANT BOY with a MASSIVE head and we knew immediately this was going to be a foster fail. haha. He was so cute and weird and fuzzy. As soon as he wandered out of the carrier, he went straight to us and started head butting and nuzzling. Done deal. As I write this, kitty is living a super spoiled life after living on the streets for 6 years and overcoming so many health issues and surgeries. The food and treats and supplements we've found at SuperPets have been nothing but great and the service and attention by the staff have always been kind and knowledgeable. It's a bit of a drive but it's totally worth it. Thank you guys for helping us taking care of London. We'll see you again soon! Yelp challenge 2015 104/365 Super pets is super duper cool for people and pets of all ages. Idependent pet store nestled at the cornor of Tustin and Chapman in Orange in the Rite Aide shopping center that sells a variety of pet items for land, water and air friends. Their 2nd location is out in Temple City. They are a authorized retailer for the pet food brand FROMM which I have transitioned my Fiona to. She loves this brand because it has real Wisconsin cheese, fresh fruit, veggies and meat in it. The 5 pound bags are priced at $13 and some change depending on the flavor. A few exoctic flavors are $14 and some change. Just a little FYI, FROMM is one of a handful of pet food companies that have been tested for safety, that made the cut out of 100 brands. The staff is helpful. They are well diversed on the 101 brands and understand which pet foods suck and which ones are good for your pooch. They are not afraid to tell you that $30 bag of food your looking at is aweful. They can lead you in the right direction and recommend quality food. There are a few RAW diet items in the freezer section that are fantastic for your dog. They also have some of the freeze dried RAW items from Stella snd Chewy. These items are a little pricy. I would buy them as a treat for Fiona. They sell bulk treats by the pound. As well as tastey bakery treats for special occasions. I am a fan and so is my dog. Review #603 read more

Super Pets is one of several newer pet stores me and my wife have been going to as of late to pick up some healthier canned foods for our dogs. Super Pets resides in the same building as the former California Pets (which I ordered mixed reviews about) and is quite diverse in their offerings. I will start by saying that the store is well large, well organized and the service we have experienced during each of our visits has always been good. The store itself offers all of the essentials you are accustomed to seeing at the larger chain stores such as various dry and canned foods, toys, harnesses, leashes, collars as well as aquariums, terrariums, fish, bunnies and several other small critters. The prices are decent and they tend to carry several canned food brands not found at PetSmart or Petco such as Wellness. Super Pets also offers several brands of raw food for dogs although the pricing is a bit higher than other places we have found in the area but good to know they offer it nonetheless. The store also offers a Super Saver Card program where you earn points with each purchase for discounts and incentives as well as receive periodic emails for semi annual sales which is nice. If you are looking for a quality pet store that offers a decent mix of both standard and nutritional pet foods then this may be the an option for you. The selection can be a bit of a mixed bag but is much better than your standard chain pet stores where no healthy products tend to be carried. read more

Alright.... so we discovered today that my review was on the Temple City location and not this one, which I find odd considering I wrote it based on the "your review awaits" section, and I have never checked into the Temple City location, nor would Yelp allow that when I am in Orange. So.... here is what I meant to write for Orange around 3-4 weeks ago and I will figure out the other issue later. :P This is a really cool pet supply store that opened up not too long ago. I had visited the old business, California Pets one time years before and I never made it back down. Once I saw this business open in its spot, I kept meaning to go check it out, but I always forgot about it. My friend Tim T. brought it up fairly recently and reminded me about its existence. I knew I wanted to check it out, but once again I never made it. I have three dogs, but one always has a lot of health issues and I am on a constant quest to find out what foods will work out best for his issues. A friend got me in contact with another lady who owns a pet food store up north. While my goal is to get him on a raw diet, I am still in research mode with him, and during the mean time this lady recommended that I get him on canned food full time instead of dry kibble. She had recommended another store that had it the cheapest, but unfortunately when I went there, their inventory was almost gone because they were closing in about 10 days for good. They told me to go to Super Pets and that they were sending all their customers there. Super Pets! I had forgotten about them AGAIN! So I went on over, and I was impressed with how clean and organized this place was! Also the place is quite large and you have plenty of room to maneuver and check things out. You can only fit one cart down the aisles but the place itself is quite big. I was in a hurry my first visit and didn't get to check it out much. I found what I was looking for and I was quite pleased that their "By Nature" brand was only 1.99! Not only is this food rated a "5" on the dog food advisor site, but I can't find any canned food this cheap unless it is a bad one. I snagged up 10 of those. They had me sign up for a Super Saver discount which accrues at one point per two dollars that you spend. Once you get a hundred points, you get a five dollar discount. As the weeks passed, I called numerous other pet food locations that I had visited to see if they carry the same brand, as they would be a closer drive. One only offered kibble, and another was quite a bit higher, based on flavor. Super Pets has all four flavors I get for 1.99 and only the salmon goes up to 2.47 which I am not worried about. The other canned food I sometimes buy, Merrick, is priced the same as the other locations. Same with Wellness. Well, back to Super Pets I go! Unfortunately they did not have the Fromm kibble that I get for my other two dogs so I will still have to frequent my other location for that, but having a dog on canned full time, this will allow me to save some money! At around .50 cents more a can at other places, this will add up quick. I can also go on my way home from work so it's not killing me on gas, it's just the longer route. No biggie. This store offers many brands, healthy brands, not that crap you find in chain stores that is harmful to your pets. They also carry the good and healthy dog treats as well as some collars and leashes. I did not get a chance to scope them out yet, but this will definitely be a location that I will frequent. My daughter decided she would like to get a pet... after reviewing different options, she settled on wanting a 'red eyed tree frog'. After calling around to many other stores, these guys were the only store that had the pet my daughter wanted in stock. We stopped by on a Friday night, and the workers were very helpful. Chris was able to explain/answer any questions I had. After viewing different options, we decided to go with a African Fat Tailed Ghecko instead of the frog.... I usually go to Petco or Petsmart for my pet needs, but I was getting some food in the neighborhood and saw this store. The staff were very respectful to let me browse at my own pace. However, when they saw me stare at the different options for a while, they came over and helped me answer any questions. The staff was incredibly friendly and provided a lot of useful hints when I had random questions. There were a lot of different categories of pet supplies, and they were all well-organized. Interestingly, they had a lot of aquarium goods and reptilian goods! I was so attracted to all the cute crawly critters! Even though I said I wasn't able to purchase anything that day, the staff showed me cool things and provided me with tips to help me mull over the decision.
