My Children surprised me with two baby chicks for Mothers Day so I came in a few days later with my Son to add a few more. I'm new to all this and Nicole was there and so helpful/informative, hilarious and good ol fashioned kind. She made the whole experience very pleasant and we left with a few more chicks and some extras needed for their comfort. I highly recommend this place especially with great employees like Nicole to make your customers want to return. read more

It's sad that the management has gone downhill. The manager is extremely rude and talks about customers when they leave. Kids run around the store and it's so dangerous. A lot of customers were there for the nice staff and the knowledgeable staff but she moved. This place is toxic . read more

Been going here for years just for timothy hay. My piggies love it and my wallet loves it even more!! Definitely would recommend for all your pet needs. read more

Amazing selection of anything you will need in the equestrian community. Every time I go there Nicole has been an amazing help. She is extremely informed on any question you may have! She goes above and beyond to make sure we get the best bale of hay. She has helped me through any problem that has occurred. I have personally witnessed her professionalism first hand in dealing with difficult customers. No matter what she remains calm and happy! If you need an expert on anything make sure you talk to Nicole! read more

wanted to update my review. The owner made everything right. He and his management team were very professional and made good on their offer to replace my hay and Rubbermaid. Thank you Foothill Feed! read more

Staff is super friendly and helpful. I go here to get my dog some bully sticks but they have a lot of feed and hay for our rabbits as well

Love the new location on E Katella! Parking is a big spacious parking lot so bring the trucks and trailers! There's room for everyone! The store is spacious. Lots of different feed to choose from. They have bales of hay. Pricing is moderate but honestly everything is expensive now. The employees were attentive and helpful but also quick. They were much appreciated! I'm sure as they settle in their selection will grow more as well. read more

Great place I didn't know they moved to this new location from their old store on Chapman Avenue. Couldn't believe when I walked in and saw the same people. What a great location a little bit further from my house, but I don't mind the drive great customer service. read more

I called ahead about a product for my pet and myself and was told they would have it in and would hold 4 for me. When I went in to pick it up under the name one employee said that I could only have 2. I asked if they had 20 or more why I couldn't have 4 as she promised. She said because I'm not using the product for a horse. I told her that's not her place to tell me how to use it as I have done a massive amount of studying about the product and how to use it and it's for all mammals. The two ladies continued to argue with me until they eventually said cancel the order. I let them know that I have never been treated so poorly in a shop and I'm from nyc! They acted like they were the authority on the medicine and were very mean and controlling about a product they're supposed to be selling. I will never give them my business or recommend shopping here. read more

Have what I needed! Quick & easy. Parking great. Friendly service and loaded car. The best.

Great timothy hay for my small bunny. Sometimes I see cute animals in the store. Workers are generally friendly. I just wish there was more parking but the store has probably been there a long time and something like that is difficult to change. read more

This is a nice local feed store that I found last year. I come here to buy Timothy hay for my bunnies. The parking lot is really small and occasionally it's an issue and I have to circle the block. Otherwise, the staff is friendly and prompt, and they load the hay quickly. Great prices - way better than the local chains - and fresher product for my bunnies. read more

Very friendly - excellent service. Quality hay - it's all about the horses! I believe they moved and I want to get out there even if it is a distance. read more

No frills, affordable mom and pop feed and grain store that has availability in bulk as well. Items available for chickens, horse, barn animals. So grateful to have a resource like this in the middle of suburbia and not have to drive out to the middle of nowhere. Staff will load big bags of grain/hay in your car for you Cool thing: the owner will house roosters and try to help find homes for them (roosters are often not allowed in most HOA/cities and finding safe homes for them can be very difficult). Note: very small parking lot, so be careful read more

Love these folks. They care about the animals, provide good advice, and are helpful. Been going here for years and will continue to do so.

I have been coming here for DECADES! First when I had a horse and now that I have chickens. They have a great selection, good prices and are very helpful. The parking lot is pretty small. I am always happier when the easier parking spots are open. read more

I inherited chicken when I bought a home in Orange country. I came to foothills to grab some feed and experienced a very knowledgeable staff with great advice for your animals. I'm glad I found this place! read more

Last spring I got chicks and wanted to raise them on a organic feed and was recommended this place from another backyard chicken owner. This place has a good variety of feed for chickens and other live stock as well as a few different brands of dog/cat food. You can also find medicinal products, books and other accessories and goods for your livestock. Although this location is out of the way for me I come here to get my hens feed since they are the only place that I have found carries it. The price here is very reasonable and they have a knowledgeable staff which is great being a new backyard chicken owner. read more

Very helpful and pleasant staff with the best of the best for my rabbit! I used to go to Walmart for hay and wood chips for our little guy and it's like he's a whole new bunny after giving him Timothy hay from this place. It seems to be very fresh, fragrant and he eats at least his weight in it every day. Thanks foothill feed! I will be coming in to buy him oxbow pellets soon! read more

I have been going to Foothill Feed for years. Not for the great customer service, because there really isn't any. Not for the ample selection, because they really are limited in what they stock. The only reason I ever visited this place was for convenience and prices. They open an hour earlier on Sundays then Hitching Post up the street, and their prices tend to be lower. So, when I'm in a hurry to grab something for the horses, I will pop in here. I know this is a feed store, and not Nordstroms. I don't expect to be catered to, but I do expect to be treated with respect. While Aundrea has been nice on occasion, in general I have found her to be dismissive and downright rude. This is a sentiment shared by many of my horsey/livestock friends. Just this morning I contacted the store to inquire about an item and to ask if I could schedule a delivery. I don't normally require delivery, but have recently injured myself and cannot lift the items I needed today. I was told flat out, "no". Silence. No explanation, no follow up. Just no. When I asked whether they deliver anymore (knowing full well that they do) or if I needed to order more stock to meet a minimum delivery charge, she said, "Look, I said no. I'm just so far behind right now that we can't do any of that." Well, I understand being busy, but there is a way to go about that without being completely rude to the customer. (BTW, I called Hitching Post immediately after and they delivered what I was looking for right away. It may be a little more expensive, but being treated like a human being is worth the extra $2). Additionally, the guys that work here tend to be flippant and unhelpful. And, you need to watch what they load in your car to ensure they are really giving you the right thing. I've made that mistake in the past (my own fault for not watching) and had to drive back down there to exchange it. The guys made me feel like it was my fault and that I was interrupting their lunch break. If you are making a special trip here looking for great prices, I would suggest hitting up Midway City Feed first. They tend to have the best prices, but they are not convenient for me for a quick run to the feed store. From now on, I will be visiting Hitching Post first and resorting to Foothill as a last resort for any immediate needs. Hoping the owners take note of their staff's behavior. In this economy, you can't afford to lose business strictly due to the unprofessionalism of their staff. read more

I drive about 30 out of my way to go here. I've been to the store about 3x and each time, I've gotten some of the best customer service. My wife and I recently decided to raise backyard chicken. We are both from the suburbs with no experience with raising anything. We walked in looking like tourists. The guy behind the counter (forgot his name, young guy with long dark hair) spent over 30 minutes answering questions for us about everything from breed types to feed to how to socialize the flock. Really nice as well. I went in yesterday to get some scratch and decided to pick up some oyster shells also and the lady helping us actually told us it wasn't necessary to buy both. She said she didn't want us to waste money! Can you believe that! Anyways. We are customers for life now. Great prices, great people, great and HONEST service. read more

This place is VERY questionable. On several occasions, I've driven by and this place when it had black and whites outside and yellow police tape wrapped all around the store. Hmmm... Anyway, I've been here a few times for dog food. The place is small, but does carry many different types of feed (for all sorts of birds and mammals). Unfortunately, they don't regularly stock the same brands. Prices are a bit high (since it's a smaller, mom 'n' pop sort of place). It's also not the cleanest of places, but I don't expect it to be. However, this place loses a star solely for its crappy parking lot (which can fit approximately two cars;three if you don't mind blocking the driveway to the back of the store). Getting in and out of this place is a beeyotch so I just park next door (Hollywood Video). If you're looking for pet food and supplies, you'll probably save some money travelling to Petco or PetSmart. However, if you have a horse to feed, this place might be just what you're looking for. read more

Nice people but several of the staff refuse to wear masks. They have a sign that all customers must wear masks which is great but they won't do the same. I want to support them but I won't return unless they value their customers health as much as they value their own. read more

I agree! What's with the 2 star rating? I've been coming to Foothill feed for a few years now for my chickens and I've always had friendly service and smiles but then I don't walk in the door with a chip on my shoulder either. The guys are always helpful and the woman at the counter is informative and kind. She may not be 'Miss Bubbly' but then this is America and we all get to have our own distinct personalities. If you need to feed your critters this is a great place for supplies. If you feel the need to convince others you've been victimized because you got a bag of kibble instead of your bag o' bits... I think somebody needs a nap. read more

Went here looking for Timothy Hay for my rabbit: Prices are as follows (as of today): 40oz Timothy Hay - 8.95 90oz Timothy Hay - 13.00 9 lbs Timothy Hay - 20.50 (Oxbow Brand) ~100 lb Bale Timothy Hay (non-branded) - 29.95 (they do not sell half bales, or flakes) Unfortunately i walked out of here empty handed, as i was looking for a flake of hay similar to what i could find at Stephen's Hay and Grain in Glendale. A bale is way too much for me to buy for one rabbit (plus i don't have the storage space -- neither in my car nor home) read more
