I was there looking for black oil sunflower seeds to attract the most variety of backyard birds. I've gone a couple of times for seeds that they sell by the pound or in large 50lb bags. The price is comparable to online marketplaces. I went in with all sorts of questions about the feed and shampoos (for my dogs). They were knowledgeable and easy to talk to. I also love looking at the cute animals while I'm there. read more

This felt like a mini zoo, with a bunch of chicken, birds of various sorts, hamsters, guinea pigs, other rodents, ducks (?), and snakes. It was cool to see the baby birds. It was cute, and I think my boyfriend ended up buying some grains. It was funny because the cash register still had one of his now-defunct business stickers on it from years ago. I joked that that's why he brought me there. read more

My go to spot for my pig feed. I call ahead of time just to be sure they have it in stock,

Okay prices but the conditions these animals are in are horrible, the birds were in tiny cages and the rat enclosures were infested with flies. They need to care for the animals more, seems like irresponsible care. read more

Great service, tiny shop next to a tiny barber. Good selection.. Nice to support a small business rather than a big box

Loved it! Small place but has what you need to start off. The guy is supper friendly and informative.

I've had a positive experience going to this feed . Definitely going back to get my dogs vaccines the owner and son are very helpful.

What I especially liked about doing business here was the desire to help a customer. It seems now a lot of businesses just don't seem to care. This business listened to what products I used and made the effort to get those for my animals. They didn't make me feel like it was a burden to get larger size amounts of food and the previous business did. It's more money for sizes I buy and this business appreciates it. Prices are comparable and I'm switching to nicer to work with. read more

Very friendly and attentive assistance at this store! I had an idea of what I was searching for but perhaps not 100% sure and the guy working there helped me find exactly what I needed read more

The owners are kind and very helpful!! They helped me with feed and hay for our rabbit!

Came to check out this place and possibly buy feed. I like to support local businesses. Well, I've been waiting for about 45 min for them to open. Outside signage says they open at 10 am but Yelp said 11 am. I waited and waited. Customers have come and gone, waiting outside as well. From the window, I can tell they sell different birds, chickens, cockatiels, and more. I wanted to give this place business, but oh well. Leaving now...it's 1130 am. Bottom line: call before driving over here. Hours vary! read more

Always have the chicken feed when I need it for the new chicks I incubate in my classroom.

We've been coming to this store for years. They offer personalized services and great customer service. The manager is always very helpful and friendly. If we have questions he knows the answer. We've bought Guinea pigs, snakes, food, supplies from here for the last 10 years. read more

I just want to say that I used to come here for years to get food for my bunny and I have to say the service is the best employees will always joke with you, are friendly, and will make sure to do their best to help you. Their selection is amazing they have a variety of items and will most likely have what you are looking for and the prices are the best they are moderately affordable and understandable I 100% recommend coming here! read more

This feed store has the best customer service. Good selection on feed and great value on feed and supplies. Been coming for couple of years and they never disappoint and always find what I need. read more

Great & friendly staff. Went in for some straw. Super affordable. They also had some very nice exotic birds & chickens. This is my new go-to spot. Thanks so much. read more

Love the customer service, super friendly and knowledgeable. They have wide variety of feed and great pricing.

My chickens and I love this store. If not the best prices for feed, point me where to. So grateful for a great and local store. Hours and supplies vary which I'm guessing due to big demand but for the prices and service, it's due the wait and patience. read more

Decided to give this place a try since we saw they sold timothy hay. Parking lot is pretty small and it definitely smells like a farm lol. We went there like 30 mins before closing so maybe that's why the staff wasn't as attentive? We were standing around for a good 10-15 mins as some guys chatted in the back, but when we were noticed the customer service we received was really friendly. Their timothy hay is a good deal being $7 for a sheet which should last us about 2-3 weeks, much cheaper than what we were buying online and our guinea pigs love it! Definitely call beforehand to check if they have any in stock. The only thing I would dock this store for is the conditions of their animals. When we went in it didn't look like the guinea pigs were kept in the best conditions along with some of the other live animals they had. read more

Love this place for my budgie food. Budgies love the mix and price is excellent. Service is always great too.

Local feed store with supplies for chickens. Call ahead to inquire about delivery dates for supplies. Has a limited variety of food options, feeders and waterers, and hay. Nicest people. read more

Recent tip: they're cash only for a while. Found out today, 7/9/2019. This is a great local business that I have been supporting for years. I buy all my bird feed and grit from here. I've also started buying dog and cat food from here as well because they sell higher quality foods like Taste of The Wild, which is a well reviewed brand. I'm always happy with their service, and even if something is out of stock he lets me know when I can come back. read more

Gilbert has been there working for years, he's a great guy, knowledgeable and super helpful. It use to be bigger until they closed some of it down and opened up to a barber shop. The parking is terrible but with the cheap prices, it's worth every bit of the hassle. Buy your small animal feed by the pound. $6 for a huge bag of hay. I bought a few adult Guinea pigs here before and to my surprise, they live to be 5-6 wonderful years. Every Guinea pig I've bought from a big chain pet store, only last 2 years. Weird but Whittier feed must be doing something right. If there is some specific dog food brand you want to order, ask Gilbert if he can get it. Great feed shop all around. read more

This place is great! The owner is awesome and super helpful and friendly! He grows his own worms and crickets and you can tell! They are big and juicy and look so much healthier. WAY better than Petco and Petsmart and WAY better prices! He also has light bulbs for my bearded dragon's cage and his last longer and are better priced! He has bunnies and chickens and gerbils and so much more! I really recommend this place! read more

I am a definite sucker for mom and pop business stores. I have been here for a couple years ever since I got my two Holland lops. I was told I was overpaying for Timothy Hay at stores such as Petsmart and Petco. I was introduced to this place by a fellow bunny owner. This place is on the smaller side and it is a little harder to find. But once you do find it, you'll be pleased. They have most of the same products as other stores and even various animals such as roosters? haha. If they do not have a product in the store, the owner(I forgot his name), will be happy to order it for you. He's very helpful and nice! Like I said, I mostly go there for the Timothy Hay (1 large bag for $3!!!) and various bunny supplies. read more

I went to this store liking to find some good food my very picky German shepherd, when I arrived the store clerk was very helpful and I stressed my concerns about my dog not eating very well and him being under weight, he was very helpful and gave me some advice and he gave me 4 free sample bags of dog food for my dog to try! And whatever they don't have in stock they will gladly order for you! Signed A very Happy Customer! read more

Another prize find from Yelp! The guys here were very nice very friendly and helpful. We will be back for sure the prices are very good the seeds are fresh clean. We were able to buy our rabbit treats and cage shaving, the birds got sunflowers seeds and food. They have an adorable mini pony he is so cute not for sale, he is their pet. The pigs were in the back takung a bath as all of the goats and pony took their baths. Love this small place the birds nesting boxes are a good price, we know where to come now. The guys are so nice and so helpful, they don't make you feel stupid if you do not know something they will tend to all your needs, I am looking forward to going back. read more

The owner, I believe is real knowledgeable and attentive to all of your needs. They have chickens and other very cool animals. It's a little gem in Whittier read more

Just stepping in the door reminded me of my Padrinos' ranch in Mexico. The smell of livestock, hay and feed brought back nostalgic memories of a sepia-tinted childhood. Big black hog included. If I ever decide to raise chickens, I'd probably go here. It was clean and all the animals looked healthy. For this trip, I just needed a small bale of hay for my new strawberry patch. Owner let me know he was all out of the small bales but could get some before 6pm today if I came back. I let him know that I could take it loose since it was just for cover for my strawberry patch and he kindly got one of his helpers to get me a sackful of hay for $3. Awesome! Everyone seemed very helpful and attentive. read more

My family has been coming here for over 10 years... in that time we've had the pleasure of knowing the person who runs this pet supply store,Gil. Today December 16,2020 review is of our surprise early Christmas gift we purchased for our girls. Gil saved the Guinea pig for over a week for us to make sure it was old enough & healthy enough to leave it's family & Also so we could get prepared to bring him home. Gil is the best friendly, knowledgeable person when it comes to our family pets & getting supplies we need. His care for customers & your pets needs is evident. The Guinea pig is healthy & Happy. It's the best addition to our family.... we are in love. We've purchased, Birds, Chickens,Reptiles, Hamsters, Guinea pigs, cages for all pets ( he's even gifted our son a hamster cage that someone dropped off as a donation). We have in the past had Gil find homes for our Animals that we just couldn't keep any longer.... His resources are very Helpful, we appreciate that very much. He is Not a Greedy person looking to make a fast buck... He doesn't offer you to buy junk or unneeded items Ever. We've purchased small bags of seed, feed & bedding in large bags for the best prices in town. I will say I've seen people come in here & be rude about animal issues, in my opinion they're just making issues up because they're not loyal customers who come in often to make purchases & I'm sure they don't or haven't seen how busy Gil is daily & that this is his lively hood & that he revolves his whole life around caring for these animals & the cleanliness of this business ... Honestly don't believe these kind of over dramatic Negative comments because they're simply Not true. This place is Clean , Spotless as a Pet store can be. This is the type of Community business we need to support, Especially Now. If they don't have an item Gil will find it if possible or direct you where you can get it. The prices are fair because he's a Mom & Pop establishment, This is Not a Huge corporate Pet store so be realistic about what your expectations are..... Always a pleasure to stop in. read more

Small feed store with almost non existent parking lot smelled really bad and the chickens they had for sale were in dirty cages

You never know what your going to come across at this place. When I was there they had a litter of 5 week old piglets. So precious! I came for Bunny litter and got to cuddle with piglets. It was pure Heaven. read more

My boyfriend and I stopped by the other morning because I thought there was bunnies but the man explained it wasn't the season yet, but I loved that they have healthy snacks for dogs. I was going to buy a little but it was so little that he decided to give it to us to try! So nice! Even though he was super busy he still answered questions that I had so I really appreciated that. There was also a super duper adorable hamster there, it looks like a gray puff ball, if their lifespan wasn't so short I would have bought it hehe.
