Mama nursing her adopted babies thank you Ken!!!!

The owner Ken is an absolute gem. Not only did he provide a Mother nursing rat, he gave me plenty of her bedding so I could make my orphan rat Babies smell like her. She has accepted them, and I believe that their survival is due to this wonderful business. Ken went above and beyond, and I am so grateful to him.

This is our little tiny snake pet

We walked into this shop and immediately we were greeted by Kenny and Mat, we came here to look at leopard geckos, unfortunately they were sold out. We could have walked away but their customer service was so welcoming we just wanted to stick around and see what they had in store .. my daughter was drawn to the snakes and both Kenny and Mat were quick to show us and let us pet all the snakes, after holding a sand boa for about an hour it was so hard to give him back .. we bought a sand boa!!!! we bought some accessories to house him as soon as we got home .. we brought down our old tank and gave him a home.. this shop is fully stocked on reptiles, food , accessories, you name it . Thank you Kenny and Mat for making this experience memorable for our kids .

Conveniently located off Lambert and near La Habra Blvd in Whittier , we love Kendogs!! As Ball Python handlers, it's rare that you ever find a shop that leaves you speechless by its reptile offerings and Kendogs is the shop!! We were blown away by the scaleless Blue Eyed Lucy they have. And it was incredible to see that Kendogs was at the Pomona Reptile Expo and brought the sweet girl out!! Lisa was great at the shop, very friendly and knowledgeable and our go-to shop for feeders and expanding our ball python projects. If that sweet scaleless BEL girl ever goes up for sale, we want to be the first in line for her!! Thanks Lisa and the Kendogs Reptiles family, we'll see you soon!!

Small shop but very friendly staff. Not the best selection of accessories but perfect if you're looking for feeders.

Agustin's shop is clean, whimsically decorated with a really cool fish and turtle pond in front and the reptiles and birds are very well taken care of. Agustin helped me out a couple of years ago when I had to move my Mom out of her home and into an Assisted Living Facility and had to re-home her two large birds. Agustin found a buyer for her Moluccan Cockatoo at a fair price and a home for her other bird. I continue to frequent Agustin's for a feeder rat for my daughter's snake. I have noticed prices have gone up considerably over the years but what hasn't. I do appreciate their frequent feeder mouse/rat card and that they use double paper bags for the critters because they do like to chew free. They always have a great display of reptiles and birds I like to walk through, too. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for your reptile and bird needs.

I was shortchanged…read more I spoke with nolan that I would like to order 6 cory habrosas for pick up the next day (today) and 5 CPDs. He says he will send me the invoice to pay over the internet. I told him i would pick up from San Diego (more than 100 miles of driving each way!!!) I did not pay yet and asked to change my CPDs to 3 otos. I told him i would like 6 habrosas, at least. When i drove up to santa ana (the next day), with an invoice of 6 habrosas there were only 4 in stock. I understand that Corys prefer larger groups. Had it been disclosed ahead of time that there were only 4 corys, i would not have driven up from SD to Santa ana and the INVOICE SHOULD HAVE BEEN CANCELLED BY THE SELLER If there is not enough stock. There were not even enough otos as i requested. -This wastes my 3 hours of round trip driving (100+ miles) and gas to be short changed. ----------------- -i will have to report this to the BBB as well. -after speaking directly with Nolan, i will wait for his business to rectify this situation before i take additional actions. --------------- Edit on 12/2 after seller's response below: 1. 85 miles or 100 is an approximate. It is a trivial point given that it is a long distance drive from sd to santa ana. The crux of the matter is that you sold me 4 cories when you knew ahead of time i wanted 6. I acknowledge you are closed on Wednesday. You had employees in the shop anyway on Wednesday--they said they had to come in anyway to feed the fish for the long weekend whether i came or not. 2. The invoice i received is an automated email invoice. I can email it to you like. It has 6 cories written on it, not 4. And to your reply i am not looking for other cories, iam looking for the habrosas. 3. You knew i was there to pick up six (that is why the invoice that you personally emailed me stated 6 habrosas, which you wanted me to pay). So Eiither you or your employees did not take stock before you emailed me an invoice or you knew ahead of time that you did NOT have 6 and tried to sell me what you have. 4. The 4 habrosas and the oto cats have SEVERE red gills when they were pre-packed in bags upon my arrival. Either this is due high ammonia or red gills disease. I regret buying them. 5. A local fish store in san diego says it is bacterial and recommends medicine treatment. Since the day i picked them up They have been in medicinal treatment and it is nearly a week where the red gills have been present even with daily water changes and 0 ammonia.. I never had this experience with other local fish stores. 6 aside, i have received unsolicited yelp correspondence from your employee. Note i was courteous with your employees. They did not need to initiate any involvement in yelp which was not appreciated. 7. The only correspondence was that you would send 2 cories free of charge on monday and i would not take further action until we resolve this problem. 8. Please do not send the 2 cories, i am wary of the quality of care from your shop given the state of the cories and oto cats. Going forward I will not be ordering from this "guppy mill". And i will report this to the bbb and to other social media sites

I was hesitant to…read morebring my birds in for grooming based on the bad reviews from yelp but I was fooled by some positive reviews so I decided to take the chance. My worst biggest mistake and I regret so much. The woman appeared very rude and distressed by just walking into her store. I told her my birds had never been groomed and before I finished my sentence further she grabbed the first bird. She grabbed the bird in the most horrific way, she was literally strangling the bird. I was about to stop her but she quickly grabbed her dirty scissors and clipped off the bird feathers. It was too late for me to change my mind. She then proceeded to clip the nails. I told her not to clip it too short because this is the first time the birds being groomed. She lectured me about the numbers of years she was in business and never hurt a bird. Ok i trusted her. Guess what, both of my babies birds (2 of them), both of their feet were bleeding. She proceeded to have the attitude to tell me, oh when the birds bleed i could put this to stop the bleeding. Ok. Great. I was thinking madly "That's what I DON't WANT TO HAPPEN SO I BROUGHT THEM TO YOU TO DO IT FOR CAREFULLY BUT YOU FAILED!! " She told me everything is fine until I brought the birds home that night. She must had yanked on one of the bird's legs so hard or severely injured it in some ways that he couldn't stand on his foot anymore. He was in so much pain and distressed he pecked off his feathers and appeared half dead. Both birds were so traumatized and distressed they didn't want to eat or make any sound. They never acted this way. It broke my heart. I was so mad at myself for not trusting the negative reviews from those yelpers. It had been several days and he still couldn't put his foot down. He kept tugging it in his body and standing on one foot. He might be handicapped for life or he might die. How can someone own a pet shop but have no heart in caring for them? If only if she could be more gentle in handling those tiny fragile birds then my babies wouldn't have to suffer this much. I don't care how many years she told me but seeing how she treated my birds this way, her number years of experience just went into the toilet. I really feel sorry for those birds that are currently in her care. I dont trust her anymore to even buy a bird from her. My review is as true as possible and if you are a birds lover, i hope you don't have to go through what I went through if you still decided to go there. And if you are the woman reading this, I hope you have some moral values in caring for those birds. To you they might just be another bird but to others, they are their babies. Handle with care please!!

NO PICS INSIDE, as what the sign states outside…read more I can sort of see why. To put it, it's not the most cleanest and quite cluttered. There's only some parts of the shop open to the public. No part of the large building inside toward the side, just a bit of the front area. Quite dusty and I noticed a Christmas tree completely engulfed in cobwebs. It gets quite warm in there too, despite the fans (blowing up dust as well, so if you have asthma or allergies may not be the best place to be). It's mostly the common pet birds, but I did see some fancier finches. I'm sure the owners are quite knowledgeable as they were having an in depth conversation with one of the customers regarding a bird's diet. Maybe as a reptile person I can't comment as much, but the experience was a bit disappointing with how neat the building looks like on the outside.

They also clearly know what they're doing. The staff is knowledgeable and can answer questions without giving you that blank stare you sometimes get at other aquarium shops. But the pricing is honestly kind of shocking. A lot of their equipment is outrageously overpriced compared to what you can find online or even at other local stores. For example, I saw a UNS double valve connector selling for about $60 when the same thing is easily available online for around $20. They also had the Kessil 35° reflector priced at $50, and I've never seen those go for more than $30 or $35 anywhere else. I get that local fish stores have overhead and can't always compete with online pricing, and I'm totally fine paying a little more to support a brick and mortar shop. But some of these markups feel excessive. If you need something immediately and don't mind paying a premium, it's a solid store with good selection and knowledgeable staff. Just be prepared for some pretty steep prices on certain items. Overall I'd say it's worth visiting, but definitely price check before buying equipment.
