No matter what another person tells you about your dog, it's wrong. "I've been doing this my whole life, I love EVERY dog, I've rehabilitated hundreds of dogs just this year alone" Passion for something you love is one thing, but this dude will talk your ear off for an hour just in attempt to make you feel like a failure. By the time your able to pull yourself away, you still don't have answers to your questions. oh and then while I was checking out, spent close to $100. He then went on and on about why the prices are what they are. My response was, I've bought these before, I wasn't questioning the price. His condescending remark? well, sure because your so rich and successful! I think he could also be rich and successful if he would take a step back and focus on not being such a condescending know it all and actually answer people's questions and stop rambling on for an hour on how amazing he is. read more

Bottom line is I walked out. Here's how it went down. After leaving Albertson's, I was driving to the parking lot and realized there was a pet store in the parking lot. From the outside it didn't look open, so I went and tried the door. It was open so I walked in it was greeted kindly by a girl behind the counter. As I shopped for large dog bones, a guy with a blonde ponytail started conversation. I explained I was looking for a large dog bones because my dogs had surgery "Spaded" and they are wearing cones. That I need a large dog bones so they could eat them and hopefully lick not open up the sutures for a third time. This guy explain to me that he doesn't believe in cones and I should tie a T-shirt around my dog. OK, no problem. I picked up a couple dog bones and mentioned that from the street their store looks closed. This guy stated "we like it that way" we don't want people walking in off the street that we're just driving by. Were the largest raw dog food Dealer on the West Coast. I mentioned I'm in sales and every customer is important. He disagreed. Enough of that I thanked them for their time and told him I would shop elsewhere. #WhatAnIdiot. The owner, Mike is a prick. His attitude sucks, if you don't do what he thinks is best he's going to degrade you. He's told my mom how she doesn't know her own dog and just because he runs a dog rescue- he knows her dog as well as all dogs better then anyone else. If you try to buy any kibble he's going to tell you how dogs survived in the wild and need raw food not kibble. today was the last straw for my family when my mom went to get a different version of the lightly cooked raw food since her yorkies do not like the new ingredients and he THREW THE CASH AT MY MOM! I shopped here weekly for about 6 months and each time the owner would share his opinion on how and what to feed our dogs at first it was helpful but then turned into a horrible experience. Today I went in and asked question regarding raw food he mentioned how much his dog eats which I didn't ask and I politely said his dog was lucky to have him the owner to feed him so much he was insulted went off on me started to tell me he spends 800 a month on his dog stated cussing at me told me he is the f owner and he can say and do what he wants. I was literally afraid he was going to hit me with the bag of food. LOve this place!!! Michael was so helpful! I took my little Maltese to wash myself! I can't begin to describe how dirty she gets in a short period of time. My grooming bill gets outrageous, and I want to be able to wash her myself. I really don't have a place where I live. So, we found this wonderful store. Clean, and welcoming, everything I needed was at my fingertips. This made bathing her so much easier, tub was at the right height so my back was spared bending over. Winter actually enjoyed it. PetSav is a real gem that stands out amongst other pet stores. Their products are high quality and the owner, Mike, is highly knowledgeable of pet nutrition. Every time I visit this store, I always learn something new about my dog's nutrition. I really like Mike's passion when he discusses his products. I switched my dog's food to a raw diet based on the wealth of information Mike shared. My dog is thriving from it and is an excellent health. Raw food diet is the way to go. I searched for a self-serve dog-wash station on the Yelp app and found Pet SAV. It was down the street from my location at the time: the parking lot of Trader Joe's. I drove the short distance, parked, and entered the store with my beloved 7-year-old Miniature Schnauzer, Ella. [Note: "Ella" is short for Cinderella since she is a rescue and was a starved and ragged street urchin before I adopted her.] I was greeted by Mike, the owner, and his current pack of four rescue dogs. My impression of him was positive from the start. He was very courteous, kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. And, he clearly has a strong commitment to helping rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome dogs in need. Mike showed me the single wash station (a small room) and the grooming supplies, and then let me give Ella a bath. He came back to check on me to see if I had any questions or needed anything about halfway through the process. When I was done, I walked Ella to the front of the store and inquired about the raw food diet and dog nutrition, since I had learned this was a main purpose of the store. Mike explained the history of dog food and recommended that I watch the documentary "Pet Fooled" to learn more about why "regular" dog food is not healthy for dogs. In brief, he told me that the traditional dry dog food ("dog chow") was created for the convenience of pet owners, not the optimal health of the dog. I told Mike that I would watch the movie and return to the store soon -- both to use the wash station and to further discuss how to better meet the nutritional needs of Ella. I love my dog and I want her to live a long, healthy life. Update: I have been back to Pet SAV three times since my first visit. I am now feeding Ella Small Batch Pet sliders -- small meat patties. I have been buying the chicken, but there other flavors like beef, lamb, turkey, duck, and rabbit. You can also buy the regular-sized meat patties. They come frozen and you feed your dog a daily portion based upon his or her weight. Ella eats 6-7 sliders per day. I thaw the sliders by placing them in a small bowl in the refrigerator. After she eats, I wash her bowl and place 3-4 frozen sliders in there and then put the bowl in the refrigerator. These are thawed by the next time I feed her in 12 hours. Repeat. Mike taught me the importance of reading labels on pet food and checking the meat content. I am so grateful to have switched Ella to a raw food diet. She is happier and healthier and now looks forward to being fed. She now quickly licks her bowl clean! I feel confident that I have added years to her life. I asked Mike about a good chew treat for Ella that would also help clean her teeth and he recommended the Northwest Naturals Frozen Beef Bones. I gave Ella her first one today. She absolutely loved it and her breath is already smelling cleaner! She ate the marrow and the bit of meat clinging to the bone. And, not only does she continue to chew on the bone, but she was thinking about that bone hours later and went to the back bedroom to retrieve the bone and bring it to the living room where she was sitting on the couch with me! Found this location while searching for Orijen puppy food on the Orijen website. Small spot but carried what I was looking for and it was closer than another pet shop I used to go to for my dog food. Mike was the one who rang me up and he seems like a very genuine guy with a lot of love for dogs or animals in general. It's a new spot so don't be afraid of the handful of reviews this location has. Highly recommend Update: This is now my go-to location for my dog's food. Mike is very knowledgeable and is an approachable person who clearly loves animals. My girlfriend and I have learned a lot since coming to this location and leave every time without any regret giving this place our business. If you want to be talked down to, lectured, and just have an all around rude experience in a store, this is the place for you. I went in looking for a particular brand of food. I have been in this store three or four times now and each time the owner(?) Michael has been condescending and rude to me. Today I left in tears with my two dogs in tow. He kept telling me over and over he did not have time to spend telling me about his products as he only makes a 2% profit on a bag of dog food (like this is my fault?). I tried to clear the air with him but it did not go well. I told him I can afford to buy gear and toys etc. so he can make a bigger profit, but to no avail. He just kept telling me I was wasting his time (after buying a $40 bag of dog food) that he should be spending on other customers (there was no one else in the store most of the time.) After reading the reviews here I think it's because I have Yorkies and not rescues. Luckily I found the dog food I need at Super Pets on Chapman in Orange. REALLY nice woman answered the phone and was very helpful. She had no problem taking the time to tell me about her store. Mike, the owner is extremely knowledgeable in all things dog food. I walked in first asking if he sold prescription kibble. I left that day with kibble and some knowledge. over a period of about a year I've been a regular customer and the kibble he recommended helped with my dogs issues but not completely. I now have my boys on mostly raw food (fermented) diet. I've noticed skin and coat improvement in both pups but most notable was the improvement in the old man. Bailey was on prescription pills for allergies and a veterinarian prescribed diet. Since using all raw food based on Mike's recommendation, his skin issues have gone away (except for the occasional flare up probably due to environmental and not diet) His prescription allergy meds have been cut to the lowest dose which is a 75% drop from where he was. Thank you Mike for taking the time to listen to the concerns I had as well as taking the time to inform me of alternatives and why they are better. My pups especially thank you. read more

The store was dark and looked closed from the outside. The hours listed on the door said the store was closed, but there were clearly customers inside. I went in to find an extremely limited supply of dog and cat food. What they did have was loaded with tapioca and very high in ash content. For how vocally they toot their own horn on knowledge, where is the follow through in product quality? These exact same terrible foods are much cheaper elsewhere. DONT GIVE THIS STORE YOUR BUSINESS, GO ANYWHERE ELSE. I feel so validated about my experience at this store after reading some of the one star reviews on this page. I went in for the first time today for a self wash with my dog. First of all it was insanely overpriced, $25 to wash my own dog with my own soaps, the only products I used of his were 2 cotton balls and I even cleaned up after myself. I got a really weird vibe from Mike when I first came in, but I decided to let it go. When I went to pay completely unprompted he started lecturing me on how I need to take a look in the mirror at what I'm doing to my dog and how I'm basically abusing him and going to lead him to an early death because I feed him kibble instead of raw food (he never actually asked me if I fed my dog kibble he just went on a rampage assuming I don't know how to take care of my dog). He was so inappropriate and condescending in the way he was speaking to me, he basically cornered me (alone in the store and I'm a young woman, and he's a large man) for like 10 minutes while berated in me and made me feel like a horrible person for literally no reason. At the beginning of the service I mentioned to him that I had been a groomer for many years and I'm well aware of what it takes to give proper care to my dog, and he said well you may have a little bit of knowledge but I own the biggest raw pet food store on the west coast so you can't really compare the two. I left feeling so humiliated and angry I was literally shaking by the time I got to my car. This guy is a POS. read more

I REALLY wanted this to be my go-to pet store because they have some amazing, well-curated products. Truly! It's also right next to the grocery store that I frequent. However, the owner can come off as a little judgmental. The first time I went in, he shared with me all of his knowledge about feeding raw, which was actually very appreciated! I thought it was great to hear from someone so passionate about animals. However, when I went in another time not too long after, I wanted to buy a Herm Sprenger prong collar. I had already spent hundreds of dollars being trained by a professional (who trains police dogs) on how to use them and went through a 20 hour training course. When I reached for the item, the owner asked if I had been trained on how to use one because he didn't just sell them to anybody. I can understand this because the tool can cause damage if not used correctly. But when I said I had been trained he went on for quite some time about how to use it and treated me like I didn't know anything about it. I know he meant well and just cares for dogs immensely, but so do I! I love my dogs and do not want to be lectured every time I go into the store. I just want to shop and appreciate the great products that he sells. I thoroughly research what I buy for my dogs, which is how I know he sells some awesome stuff! And I would appreciate the assumption that I am an informed and loving owner, not an ignorant one. I will ask a question if I want to know more. read more

I have been to this store several times and Mike the owner is amazing. He has done a lot of research on the foods he carrys from an ethical and nutritional standpoint. We have a mini schnauzer that has been diagnosed with IMHA and we have been getting raw goats milk and bone broth from PetSav. It has been very beneficial to his recovery and we love this store and Mike's passion for animals. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. I want to start of by saying that although it took me a while to finally walk into this well hidden gem, I am so glad I finally did. I found a lot of items I normally buy online because I don't see them in the pet shops and it's just so much nicer to be able to try on and not only feel but see the material for myself. I also was able to try on the collar I was adviced to purchase versus the Julius vest I had gone in for, yes they sale them Julius training vest! I love those vest because if you're like me and own poweful breeds this brand is just made right however they seem to be more for training never the less I still love this brand for its durability and ofcoarse Mike carry's a variety of colors which is just so nice! So my point being is that I love any pet store that doesn't just want to sale you the most expensive products but are genuinely offering obtains that best fit your needs as well as your pets! Here you will definitely find high end durable toys and Raw food!!! They also take time to help out every customer that walks inside and they are just so extremely knowledgeable .! Honestly if you haven't been inside take the time to check them out I'm sure you'll find something for your pet whether it's a dog or cat. BEWARE of MIKE the owner and his business associate!! I was in the shopping center a few weeks back with my grandfather to get our monthly pedicure. I parked in front of his store to visit the nail salon next door. When my grandfather and I returned to the car, there was a bumper sticker on my window that said "do not park here" with the Pet Sav font. This sticker took me over 10 minutes to remove, and there was still a decent amount of residue left on my window. I went into the store to ask the gentleman if they put the sticker on my car and their response was absolutely horrifying. They both proceeded to walk around the counter to yell and cuss at me for parking in a spot in front of his store. I proceeded to tell him I can park in any spot I want. He continued to yell at me and tell me I am taking money away from his business by parking in front of his store. The yelling was very aggressive. The yelling and cussing continued so I ran out of the store, because at this point I was very scared for my safety. Both Mike and the the other guy followed me out, screaming at me and taking swings at me while I ran to my car. My 90 year old grandfather was in the car and witnessed them chasing me. I was so terrified I called the police. As I was in my car dialing 911, they continued to yell at me, case my car, video record me, and take photos of myself, my car and my license plate. Police showed up minutes later. After speaking with me and Mike, the police assured me he wouldn't do this again. I was scared because I live close by and frequent that shopping center. Police also said Mike had no right putting the bumper sticker on my driver side window, as that is vandalism. There were several people who witnessed this as well.
