Haven't heard from corporate regarding my complaint with the Mililani Petsmart. It appears they are as lazy as everyone else. If I have the next available appointment and suddenly my appointment is given to someone else, what does that tell you? I'm in Hawaii, not born here so I don't have a choice. I still want to know why my appointment was given away. read more

I took my two miniature schnauzers here on Thursday 1 July 2021. I paid over $200.00 to have both dogs groomed. One of my dogs was groomed just ok but the other was only about half groomed. I found stuff in her fur that would not be there had they at least trimmed her skirt. They didn't shave her belly area and it looks like they did a number 7 cut on her back and then left her skirt alone. I was charged $8.00 per dog for special handling fees and that is what the manager of this store offered to refund. What about the other $$89.00 for the full service grooming and the top dog plus package. This is a terrible grooming salon and the store manager has no idea how they are taking advantage of customers. I also saw the way they were treating animals on the tables while waiting to receive my dogs and I was less than pleased with their performance. I will not return to this place for sure. read more

The absolute worst grooming my dog has ever had. He is chopped up, and completely traumatized. Never again, I normally never use pet smart as opposed to a locally owned, invested in the community type place. I need someone who cares. read more

Grooming.. teeth, ears, and nails. The guy seemed new. He was nice but, impatient with nail grinding and half attempt at teeth cleaning. Had to re-brush teeth at home! I won't allow him to do my pet again! read more

I made an appointment to get my Pomeranian groomed and chose the Bath service, which, if you look on their website, was supposed to include a bath, blow dry, brushing, sanitary trim, nail trim, ear cleaning, anal gland cleaning, and feet trimming. I chose this option specifically for the sanitary and feet trim because my dog has long hair and needed those the most. After four hours, I had to call them to see if she was done and, once I finally got her home, I realized they had only bathed her! For four hours, they had my dog there and didn't do anything on the list that was supposed to be done. I had to take her to a new groomer the next week, to get her the sanitary trim and feet trim. She also had to re-trim her nails and express her anal gland because Petsmart didn't do those either. I will never take my dog to be groomed here again. read more

This review is strictly for the grooming services. I have taken my babygirl Roxi here a good 5-6 times to get groomed. All her experiences have been good, and she's never had any issues... till yesterday. She's 8 going on 9 years old but is still as rambunctious as when she was a puppy and I knew something was off when I picked her up. Majority of the time she wags her tail and is excited as soon as she sees me. Yesterday, she was quite reserved and looked a little timid. Something happened but I'm not sure what. On our drive home, I noticed her opening and closing her eyes quite frequently and thought something was off but figured I monitor her when I got home. Two hours pass and I see that she can barely keep her left eye open and this has happened before where a ball hit her in the eye and it got scratched. She's an adorable Lhasa Apso, with HUGE eyes so things can get in pretty easily. She was completely fine before I took her though so I knew it had to have been from the grooming. We took her to the vet and indeed she had a scratch on her eye. Either they got way too close or were too rough when they cleaned her eyes or something of that nature. Sam was her groomer and he must be new because I've never seen him before. The top of her nose was also pink. When we spoke to the salon manager Keri-Ann (sp?) she said that when they have a lot of hair that can happen. I'm sorry, no, that is not an excuse. I've taken her in many times before where her hair was even longer and she's NEVER had that type of reaction. She also said she thought maybe her eyes was just not cleaned well enough when I explained I noticed something was wrong. I know my dog, I knew it was more than just that. They are covering the vet bill but there was no apology or anything, just a bunch of excuses. Their service isn't cheap either. $60.00 and this happens. I even paid an additional $7.00 for the oatmeal shampoo and I don't think it makes that much of a difference. After this experience, I am NEVER coming back here again. The store itself is very clean, and the associates are very helpful so I will come to buy treats, etc. but I will be going elsewhere for my doggie to get cleaned. read more

The new pet smart in ewa rocks! It's brand new and like all per smarts, their staff is always super helpful and friendly. We found what we needed right away thanks to an employee. The store is stocked up and has a nice layout to it. The entire place smells new. It's like the premium luxury pet store lol. Love it for our pets. read more

I must be totally honest. I brought my dog here for grooming Saturday. Ever since that day he hasn't been the same. He has been acting really strange, not his playful, silly self. He is glued to the couch and bed. This was very weird because he usually is a jolly little fellow. He won't eat and continues to scratch at his back side. The service was okay but 4 hours at the groomer is ridiculous and the cost is expensive. After picking up that's when they advised that I could pay 11 extra for express services. What's the use of an appt?! Anyways, I became so nervous of my dog's behavior that I called the VCA and the clerk advise me that her dog had the same issues when she took him to Petsmart. She believed he was traumatized because of something they did or failed to do. I hope my pup feels better soon. I know for a fact that he will not be going back to Petsmart. If you're looking for a more hands on, one on one salon take your furry friends to Beauty Salon for Doggies in Honolulu. read more

The customer service folks are very attentive, albeit very busy during the holidays. The prices in my opinion are more affordable than Petco. They offer a lot of coupons so I always feel like I am getting my money's worth as compared to other pet stores. Last trip I ordered online for in store pick up for a 10% discount. I would do it again but the only caution is to wait until a confirmation email is sent, which seems to take about 1-2 hours before the order is ready. Be sure to bring your ID when picking up. Also treats at the counter!!! read more

I love Petco, but this is much closer to me, and much more kind to my wallet. First thing, their prices on toys, food, leashes are much cheaper, but lacks selection in comparison to Petco. I've bought several leashes, harnesses and a dog bag here all ranging in price of $9-$14. (I have a small and medium dog, so the prices weren't too bad) They have a grooming station that I've only come to, to get their nails done. The first time I took my dog to get his nails did, we got the Pawdicure package which includes cut and buffing of the nails to rid of any sharp edges. Unfortunately when I got my dog his nails weren't filed properly leaving some marks on my skin when he got excited to see me. The cost isn't too bad, around $14 for the Pawdicure, but they should've done a better job. They have training classes available in the back corner next to the grooming station, and prices are listed on the board for puppies, beginners, intermediate and pro. We enrolled my American Staffordshire into the beginners class and his 'pack leader' Bridget was very friendly, yet firm with her lessons. It was an enjoyable experience overall and his behaviour has improved dramatically since taking his classes. The overall customer service has been excellent, their staff is very friendly and helpful with any questions about their products and or services. read more

I like petsmart better than petco. They have a wide great quality selection and once in a while, you will find some really good deals hidden in a haystack. NO, NO, NO!!! Go somewhere else!! They had my dog (20 lbs) for 4 hours, was not able to complete grooming and still charged me full price and no offer for a discount if I wanted to come back. I had an appointment but my dog was set aside for an Austrailan Shepard that had no appointment? said Manager over booked them? Please take your pet and money to a Groomer that has the time for an appointment. There were so many employees just walking around, talking, not doing much. I actually had to ask someone if there was a 2nd checkout available, there were 4 customers at the only register open while employees were just walking back and forth. I even saw 2 groomers through the glass, one giving double peace signs and the other gave double "birds" behind the groomer woring on my dog, what is up with that? very unprofessional establishment!! What a waste of $72!!! read more

OK Petco, you can just go away now. There's a new player in town, and he is WAY smarter than your entire company. I reserve my 5 star reviews for local businesses with a bang, but Petsmart comes pretty darn close. I believe this is the only one on the island, located in Mililani by Zippy's. We made the trip up here for one reason, Disney stuff. Disney collars, Disney leashes, Disney costumes, disney clothing. However, we found so much more. We found the service that we cannot normally find in a Petco. I felt like the people working there knew a lot about all areas, not just their own department. The variety of products also surpassed Petco. There were way more toys. Granted Petco has a big variety of toys, but I feel like they are mostly plush toys that I wouldn't have our puppy play with in the first place. I also think Petco might have more in terms of other pets, but I'm mainly concerned with our dog and love Petsmart for their attention to that. Another big plus, Puppy play time for $10! Have your dogs play in a safe environment for an hour. Sometimes that can be difficult once your dog is too old to participate in puppy kindergarten. Sometimes you can never be too sure about the dogs in dog parks. You must have the free rewards membership to get all the advertised deals. If you own a dog, there is no reason why you shouldn't have it. They are expensive puppy children! If we need something fast, we will run to the petco by the house. Otherwise, I think we will make the trip up the hill for petsmart. read more

I LOVE THIS STORE!! The employees are always helpful and friendly. The store manager always goes over and beyond to help us with our needs. They will special order items when it's out of stock and still allow for the sale prices. I'll pay a few bucks more for my items at PetSmart any day than going into a store that sells crap dog food. Grain-free..grain-free! Never had any problems with the parking situation. Location, perfect for us. Store always neat and clean. Including the bathroom. One request PetSmart! Took my dog in for a clean up- Sanitary parts. Anal, belly, ears and paws. No nail trimming. Just the hair in-between his paws. This is the only location that wanted to charge me for three different services (about 45$) instead of the normal 22$ that every other petsmart charges. :( Not going to the groomers here ever. Overcharge. The store itself was clean and organized and the people that work there are friendly. Just don't go see the groomers unless you wanna get overcharged. read more

I took the drive with my son to Pet Smart to find out what type of store this would be after hearing a lot of hype. I was NOT impressed at all based upoon several factors. The prices at Pet Smart are indeed STEEP, you can find better bargains if you look elsewhere. Few yelpers have said that Pet Smart had workers walking all over the store, I did not encounter any yesterday 4.6.2013. No one approached me to see if I needed anything when clearly I was looking for something specific. The so called grooming salon is a JOKE. There were several young women who were forcibly holding onto the dogs and apparently trying to get them to obey. The "groomers" need a lesson in patience, talking to the dog and calming the dogs down during the grooming process. Take your time ladies, do not force the dogs into doing something that they clearly do not want to do. It also seemed like the prices were ala carte, when indeed, stuff like anal cleaning and toenail trimming should be part of the entire grroming package. I would not take any of my dogs to Pet Smart to be groomed, I'd rather save my money and go somewhere else. read more

My kids love to come in here and look at the animals that are up for adoption. Their grooming services are very reasonably priced. However, I won't be doing the furminator bath again. It was pretty pricey, and in my opinion, not worth it. The girl suggested it, because my dog is going through his summer shed. I think a regular bath would have taken care of this issue, because I definitely didn't notice a change in shedding after all the extra hair was taken out. Great spot for hunting Pokemon! read more

This review is for the pet store, not grooming or training services. Pros: -My dog can come in the store!!!!!! -Terrific customer service!!!! We talked with two women and they were both friendly and helpful. One went out of her way to offer advice and tell us about a "Puppy Booklet" that has tons of coupons that anyone would use when buying supplies for a new puppy. I saved a LOT of money, but also spent a lot. I went in again a few days later and she was just as friendly. -Lots to choose from...you can find EVERYTHING you need. -Conveniently located at Mililani Town Center -Fun to see dogs getting groomed -Providing doggy snacks is such a cute idea -I saw a bunch of bags for customers who ordered online....their things are packed and ready to go. That sounds like something I'd like to try. Cons: -Some items were pretty pricey. My dog bed was $40; I bought a second one at Ross for $15. The Pet Smart bed is much nicer, but if you're on a budget, it's a lot to spend. -Employee knowledge - even though she was really friendly, I later learned that the advice I got on the dog kennel was incorrect. The kennel is adjustable to allow for more room as the dog grows, not to create "two rooms" in the kennel (thank you, Cesar Millan!). -The wide variety can be mind boggling -Easy to spend too much money on special dog products that aren't necessary. I spent a lot on a toothbrush and grooming brush....I could have easily purchased human ones at a much lower prince that could do the job. The Puppy Booklet has coupons for grooming and training, so we'll use those and I'll update my review. read more

My favorite foodie friend loves his doggies. These pups may not be the cutest looking things...they aren't the smartest pups out there either. But he loves the stuffing out of em, so every couple of months, he treats them to a day at the doggie spa. PetSmart has been great! Since they opened, we now have a place that we can walk the pups over to for them to get their hair and their nails did. Oooh they fancy huh? The staff have always been great. Very friendly and very patient. Since our big guy doesnt get out very often, he is very shy and unsure. They definitely help him to feel safe and comfortable. They can see right passed the little one's "tough guy" demeanor and handle him with care and confidence. Thanks for all of the hard work that the crew there in the Grooming Dept put forward when making our pet look and feel great! read more

I moved to the island a little over a year ago. I took my two Westies to Tatiana in grooming as soon as they got out of quarantine and I haven't taken them to another groomer since! Every month we go see Tatiana for our monthly grooming. She pays such close attention to detail, takes the time to really get to know your dogs, learns their personalities, and she is always so friendly. Not to mention, the quality she provides is amazing! I have never had a single complaint. If you're going to pay a visit to the grooming department, Tatiana is the one to see. My doggies actually get excited when they walk into grooming. This says leaps and bounds about the quality and care they receive. read more

More expensive than Petco. I went in today because it was closer. I needed to get my dog food - we were hoping they had frozen raw food (because I dont want to buy only a tiny amount and have to come back next week and a majority of the raw brands now freeze for convenience.) After finding only big bags of refrigerated products that last only seven days max, we decided to get him his dry and canned wet food instead. We get blue buffalo food, he's really picky and this is his favorite. Plus they have tons of flavors so he doesnt get sick of one flavor. These cans at petsmart were anywhere from 0.20 to over 1.00 more expensive than at petco. They had one kind on "sale" but they were all gone so I went in search of an employee to check in the back for us. There was one guy in the whole store on the floor stocking shelves in the back. I asked my husband to find out and went by the restroom to wash my hands (when I picked up the refigerated raw to look at the package it was covered in slime.) So, since I didnt have the time to stop someplace else, I bought the food and checked out. My husband and I decided from now on we're not coming here for petfood anymore. read more

This review is based on PetSmart's grooming services. I brought my small-medium Shih Tzu/Bichon dog here just for a face trim ($10). This is considered a walk-in service so no appointment or call-ahead is necessary. They also offer nail trimming, ear cleaning, etc. as part of their walk-in services. A list of their services and prices are on their website! The worker who helped me was really friendly and before she took my dog to start grooming her, she explained the process and asked me questions regarding how short I wanted her trimmed and whatnot. Because it was estimated to take only 10 minutes, I stayed inside and watched her as she groomed my dog. My dog is naturally well behaved and calm but the lady still did a great job of handling her as she trimmed her face and cut close to the eyes. PLUS, the end result was great! I would definitely recommend bringing your furry four-legged friend here for any walk-in service! read more

I brought my dogs here to receive grooming services. I was glad they had openings for last minute owners (like me) hoping to groom their dirty fur babies. The grooming and check in area is left of the entrance. It was a crazy weekend. There was about three to four dogs waiting to be checked in. There was one owner that let her dog bark the entire time, but the groomers can't do anything about that even if they wanted to (and I'm sure they did want to). They check-in process was rather long because they had to accomodate walk-ins wanting to get their dogs nails clipped. No problem though. My dog with longer hair came out beautifully. I've been to Petco and they do such choppy cuts. The man that groomed my dog was terrific! He used his best judgement as to what I would want as an owner, and he looked amazing. My dog's fur around his paws were rounded, and his hair was cut to look like a little teddy bear. I was beyond satisfied. My only issue was with the results of my other dog. He has shorter hair, and is pretty low maintenance. He was picked up with some kind of wax or residue under his neck. A few days later he developed a skin infection near his genitalia, it was very red, irriated, and had puss. I don't want to directly connect my dog's experience at PetSmart with his skin infection, however it was the only experience he had outside of his normal environment. He had to get antibiotics and the cone of shame. A somewhat mixed review. However, I would still consider taking my other dog here for grooming services. read more

Though out of the way for me, I decided to go to Mililani just to check petsmart out for the first time. My only other experience in a petsmart was years ago on a trip to vegas. I wasn't impressed with the selection, but bought my dog a few loose treats and toy since I was there and his birthday was coming up. I looked at the fish, but wasn't really drawn to any to buy. I also did not see any chicken feed. My whopping less-than-ten-dollar purchase got me a survey coupon for $3 off my next purchase, and I love coupons, but it's not likely that I will be heading out that way again. I have Petco near me and that's sufficient, but they don't sell chicken feed either? read more

Caitlyn was very nice upon my arrival and accommodating my appointment change :) this was my puppies first time ever getting some kind of Special Treatment, I was very worried he would give her a hard time. She was kind and I know my pup felt safe with her. She told me it would normally take 3-4 hours but she could clean him up in 2 hours. I kind of stuck around the fish area to see how he was doing from afar, she actually handled him very well and made him feel comfortable with her. She also offered me the awesome puppy coupon book which I used right away for Top Pup treatment. Also scored a coupon for $15 off puppy food ! When I got back a few minutes before the 2 hour mark she had told me she was right about to send me a text that he was ready! When I got my pup back, he was in a very good mood and looked so handsome in his bandana, smelt great and he felt handsome ! You could tell just by how he was acting :) She told me about how calm he was during the process, and what products she used and the scents. Also told me how sweet my puppy was for a first timer. Caitlyn is DEFINITELY going to be the only groomer I go to for my puppy :) And also, PetSmart may not have the best "sales floor service" but they do have the best prices. read more

Honestly, I don't know what else they could do to improve. I have a medium-haired kitten who loves to play with his claws out, but his medium length fur was causing some problems around his behind that my husband and I couldn't clean 110%. Thus his first appointment. Stormy is awesome!! All front paws had nail caps put on and they lasted for a month! Stormy cleaned him all up, trimmed around where he needed it for sanitary reasons, and he came home all clean, white, fluffy, and smelling like tangerines! A month later he went back, and she not only spent extra time brushing him since his kitten fur is shedding, but she made sure she really shaved where he needed it!! Seriously, this cat came home and PRANCED around like he KNEW he was looking good! If you have a cat and need grooming, Stormy is the way to go! I almost don't want to post this because I want to keep her open!! read more

This review is for the grooming not for the pet store or training services The facility look good when you enter. The front is nice, and there are some (not many) experienced groomers. I believe the problem was with how I was handled. Their reservation online was convenient, however my issue was the fact that I had a 10am appointment. When I walked in, my groomer was working on a dog, and had me wait for 15 minutes while he finished the dog he had. I was surprised, as what i expected was for him to stop, check my dog in, and then continue with the grooming. I did wait, did check him in. I made sure that the groomer Keoni know, I needed my dog to have his nails grineded or clipped. His dew claws had grown and turned into his body. He stated it would be around 4 hours for my dog to be done. He said he would handle it. I turned over my dog, and left I waited, and normally, they tell you 4 hours, but they are done earlier. I waited, and 3 hours later, no call. I waited, 2pm, no call, 3 pm, no call. It has been 5 hours, and nothing. I decided to give them a call. I asked them to see what was up with my dog. They indicated my dog was done. I asked them why didn't they call me. The lady who answered the phone apologized, and checked with the Keoni the groomer who had told her my dog was done. while driving to the Petsmart, I get the automated text that indicates they were finished with my dog, at 3:30. When I picked up my dog, The first thing I wanted to look at was the dogs nails. The dog was shampooed satisfactory, and ears cleaned. the one thing I really wanted was for his nails to be done. When I questioned Keoni about the nails, his answer to me was "that was the best I can do, the quill is close". I looked and they had not been trimmed! I was heated, and instead of talking to them in front of the 4 other customers, I decided I would bring my dog elsewhere. I walked my dog and he barely made it outside to use the bathroom, as he was locked up for a good time. From what I gather, its a good place, their prices are ok, but it seems they have inexperienced workers and they seem to be more interested in upgrading you to a pricier service. With a short hair dog, its really not needed. I will look elsewhere. read more

My dog Teddy is a wild chihuahua who I thought was going to be super hard to Train. I signed teddy up for the puppy training class and was shocked of how my dog responded to his trainer Marcus Meade. Marcus showed me how to make Teddy act civil and to socialize and meet other dogs without barking. I was so impressed with how well he does with dogs I continued for the second round of classes, but my schedual and marcus's scheduals didn't work. So I had a different trainer. While that trainer was very nice Teddy didn't seem to respond as well to them. I then called and I wanted marcus to continue training my dog. I then switched him to private lessons with Marcus. He is hands down the best trainer with dogs. He Deffenantly has a special way with them. I'm so sad that I can no longer have teddy go to him. Teddy is sad too read more

I brought my dog here to get her nails trimmed. I typically do them myself with the motorized file, but she has grown more fearful of it over time and runs away from me when she sees it. I was a little skeptical about bringing her here after reading some of the reviews on grooming but decided to give it a try because the location is closest to home & all she needed was a her front nails trimmed. I put my name down and walked about the store for about 5-10 minutes before they called us back over the intercom. I believe the groomer's name was Chris. Only took a few minutes to trim her nails and he said my dog was calm & gave him no trouble with cutting her nails! I was happy with the overall experience. I will return for the same service next month & see if it goes just as smoothly. read more

Never ever taking my dog to their Grooming again. 4 hours is not ok. Especially when you make an appointment and when you get there the groomer left for a break. Then I showed up after 3 hrs to see if my dog was ready, and guess what she hasn't even done anything yet. I could hear my dog crying in the back. The groomer tells me she will be done in an hour. ARE you kidding me. I am SO very happy that they opened a PetSmart on island. This PetSmart has better dog leash selections, dog treats, and toys than all of the Petcos here. And everything is significantly cheaper!!! I bought Blue Buffalo dog treats here (which are already pretty pricey) for around $6. Granted, they were on sale with PetPerks, but when I went to buy more at Petco, they were freakin $11! If you can get it cheaper, do it!! Only downside is that this is the only one on Oahu (for now, they say) and it's all the way in Mililani. I hope they open one closer to Honolulu since they could knock Petco outta the water. read more

We've only been to the store a few times. But so far we have been very impressed not only with the selection but with the customer service. The store is clean and well-maintained. Everyone there has been very friendly and been willing to share information and educate us as first time pet owners. I will update my review as we have more visits to the store. read more

I hate giving such a low score. To this wonderful place, it's the toys-r-us for my fur baby. The wonderful thing about this place is the location, it's great. We come here about twice a month for some sort of grooming, and for the most part the people and service is awesome, but what I hate is being judged, I'm sorry I walk my dog 6 times a day, I'm sorry he us a very active pup and he is not going to be fully dog show ready every time I come in. I have a full breed shih tzu, but we play like if he was a German sheppard, or pit bull. Now it seems that when we bring in our pup for grooming it turns to turn to judgment central that's not right. The second reason for the one star is a groomer called stormy, she massacred my dogs hair not only that but she cut him in multiple places and he had razor burn...very un profesional. Not only that but she had horrible attitude. The third reason is no military discount. ... This is an updated review that I never finished and so the stars have gone up....the groomers that seem to be judgmental no longer work there. I haven't seen them in a while. My last complain is the amount of time it takes to do anything...it don't matter if u set an app, your pup will prob be there for at least four hours.. read more
