We have bee going to J Grooming studio for about three years now since we got our bichon. Julia does an amazing job. She was really good with providing feedback on how to train my bichon for her haircuts. She also lets me know if a hairstyle might not work for my dog because of the type of hair that my dog has. When I have a hairstyle I want my dog to try, I show it to Julia and she knows exactly what to do and how to make it work for my dog. I really like the service where the dogs get dressed up and take a studio picture. I like that it is an added bonus to my dogs spa day. Our dog loves going to Julia and enjoys her time there, she is always so eager to go to get her hair cut. The studio is by appointment only and they only take 1 to two dogs. I usually schedule my next appointment after my dog get groomed so her appointments are consistent. The shop is clean and has a very welcoming atmosphere. I like that it also has a cute set up. The prices are reasonable for the services provided.
We live in town, but drive out to Ewa side to get our fur baby groomed at J Grooming Studio. Even though there are other locations closer to our home, this is the spot we choose to take her. We have only had the best experience here and I love the themed photos we get of her afterwards. This month's theme is Harry Potter, which is one of my most favorite movies of all time!
This place is great! Cute doggy salon. We moved to Ewa Beach and needed someone more local to us. I decided to give them a shot. Boy! They did not disappoint!! Consultation as soon as you enter the door. Prices are posted and reasonable. No kenneling and our pups were ready on time. We will definitely return.
We never took our dog to be groomed before so we were pretty nervous. Since we live near by we decided to give it a shot. Inside was very cute and felt welcoming. The staff was very friendly and welcomed our dog. They did inspect her to see if she had any cuts/problems. We decided to go with the teddy bear haircut. Afterwards, we fill out a card which was essentially a new patient card with our information and our dogs info. We were given a 2 hour wait time which is fine by us. After an hour and 45 minutes passed we got a call that our pup was ready. We came to the door and noticed a puppy that looked totally different from 2 hours ago. She looked so cute!!! We were so impressed. They also took a picture of her and they emailed it to us 2 days later. I would highly recommend!!
I called for an appointment for full grooming and we were able to get an appt the following week! Majority of grooming salons are booked out weeks in advance. I brought my baby, Yoshi, in to get fully groomed and opted for the package for sensitive products, teeth brushing, and nail trimming. The groomer asked if she could hold Yoshi while I was there so that he could get used to her as he gets quite nervous when meeting other people. I thought this was such a king gesture and truly shows that she cares. I was quoted that he would be done in 2 hours and she was right on time! The salon is so clean and the owner is so friendly. This is my new grooming salon for Yoshi!
I have been going to J Grooming Studio for 2 years now and I love how my sweet miniature schnauzer always looks and is after every grooming session. Julia and Jin are AMAZING. They're always so welcoming and sweet each visit. The studio itself is always clean, cute, and always decorative. We've been to a handful of different groomers on the island and I am glad we have found J Grooming Studio.
I have a Pomeranian with A LOT of fur who has never been to a groomer before so I was very worried how he'd behave... (but he did so good TYJ). The interior is so cute and they provide such high quality service. Prices are reasonable as everything is priced by your dog's weight and fur length. Bear came back home smelling amazing and so soft. We didn't want his fur too short or too long and they did it just right! I got an email later that night of his little photoshoot after and I could not stop smiling. Cutest thing ever! Would definitely be coming back. Thank you from Bear!
Another quarterly spa session for princess Leilani. Once again, Julia takes such good care of her and we're so lucky to have found her.
So happy that I found this grooming salon on Yelp! We used to bring Buddy to Pet Smart but it's difficult to get an appointment with a specific groomer. J Grooming Studio is so close to our home like 5 min away, it is located in Ewa Beach on the second floor above Boba Cafe. It is a locally owned business and it is by appointment only. What's cool is they take a photo of your furbaby with a cute background and email it to you. Buddy has already been there 3 times and we just love how clean and cute he looks after his full service grooming session.
I was nervous since it was my dogs first time grooming, I loved how they called me asking if it was ok to shave him down because the deshedding not much was coming off. They called me when he was ready to be picked up and he looked so amazing ! I was so happy and he got a lot of compliments coming back home . They were so patient and loving to him & the pictures they take are precious for memories! Definitely so happy we found our groomers and will be recommending them to family & friends ! Your fur baby is in good hands!
All I can say is, we found our furever groomer! We've been to multiple grooming salon and for some reason was never satisfied either with the customer service or the outcome of the cut. I stumbled upon their IG page & instantly booked an appointment for my Junior Bear. The day of our appointment we were greeted at the door by a kind welcoming lady whom JB seem to like right off the bat. As JB was getting groomed they called to mention had matting around several parts of his body and they asked if it was okay to go ahead charge me for the de-matting fee which I was totally okay with. I appreciate them letting me know ahead of time because there been groomers who would tell me the total of the service at the end & I would just be shocked. When I arrived back at the salon I was in awe I could not stop thanking them for good they made JB look! I guess we will be taking a drive from Kalihi to Ewa Beach every other month to visit our new favorite place. 10/10 WOULD RECOMMEND!
Love, love, love this place!! We have been to several different groomers in the past with our two dogs and there was always something a little off that didn't make me feel 100% comfortable being there. From rude/grouchy groomers to one's who did the complete opposite of what we asked...J Grooming has checked off all the boxes and then some. I called the salon and was able to get an appointment within that week! From the moment I booked the appointment I was treated with courtesy and professionalism. Julia is SUPER sweet and made us feel welcomed while taking great care of our boy. Julia sat down with me and went over what I wanted while taking down information and I did not feel rushed or pressured into anything at all. I love that they have a no kennel policy and really dedicate their time to your dog. The interior of their salon is so cute and, most importantly, extremely clean! It is a little out of the way for us, but honestly totally worth the drive. We are so happy with the cut and the service and the super cute pics they sent. Definitely highly recommend!
Great service, loved it. Did everything perfectly, even with an inexperienced dog! I was pet-sitting my dad's little chihuahua mix for a few weeks and the dog, Leia, usually stays outside in a dirt-filled fenced area. When I started watching her, she had super long nails and her fur was brown from the dirt. She's such a sweet girl but just doesn't get enough love since she stays outside. She's relatively young and very excitable/not trained very well but the groomers were happy to take her. In an hour, they turned her from dirty, to white-furred again and happy! They washed her with a special shampoo for her sensitive skin, cut her nails, and somehow managed to get her hyperactivity down enough to take an adorable Christmas picture. I will definitely take the dog back here when I pet-sit again. The place is also 1) easy to find, 2) cutely decorated 3) super clean. Highly recommend!!!
After reading the positive reviews here on Yelp, my daughter decided to take her maltipoo to J Grooming. I believe Jin intentionally did this to her maltipoo because she didn't like us. Her maltipoo was shaved down to the skin, one of her feet was knicked from the shave, and her maltipoo's anal glands were swollen (yes we did take her to a Vet who confirmed these were caused by the grooming). My daughter called Jin to let her know but Jin denied it all and said my daughter didn't know what she was saying. read more

Julia was amazing! She took the time to ask exactly how I wanted my dog's haircut and made sure she understood what I was looking for. After the grooming, my dog looked so happy and relaxed, which meant a lot to me. You can really tell she puts her heart into her work. I'm so happy we found a groomer we can trust. Thank you, Julia read more

I had a very difficult time scheduling Marshall's original dog groomer due to the pandemic. I began searching everywhere for a new dog groomer. Everyone seemed to be booked two months ahead and Marshall needed grooming ASAP. J Grooming Studio and Julia TO THE RESCUE! I am so grateful for Julia and J Grooming Studio. They recently open, and she responded so quickly to my initial inquiry. She asked questions, provided address and pictures of where she was located. Her clientele was on Instagram, along with prices and services. It's so nice to have visuals that are easy to follow. When I arrived to her studio, the area had ample parking in a private lot that's free. Her store is located on the 2nd floor (Suite 203), right up the stairs. I was greeted and welcomed with by the very friendly Julia. She was caring in person too. She gave me a time estimate when she would be done and she finished on time. Very professional! The shop was very cleaned, decorated but minimalist. It just has a very classy but fun atmosphere. I picked up Marshall and boy oh boy, was he like new! He looked so handsome. Julia did a great job in doing what I requested. From bathing, to haircut, to nail trimming, finally Marshall got a deserved grooming and that's thanks to Julia and J Grooming Studio! It really means a lot that she was able to take him as a client. I loved that she sends an email containing a photo of after the grooming with a cute decorated background. C'mon, what fur parent does not love pictures of their fur baby in a photoshoot! I also completed intake form online, received my receipt via email and she takes different methods of payment. Everything was so convenient. I live in Aiea but I am more than willing to drive to Ewa Beach every single time Marshall needs grooming because I trust Julia an J Grooming Studio. In addition, she has COVID-19 policies such as only allowing one client in her studio at a time which I appreciate her care in ensuring our care. read more

Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Reliability I took my 13-year old miniature schnauzer Chloe to J grooming studio and I was so impressed by their grooming skills, professionalism, and kindness. Julia took such a great care of Chloe and after grooming she looked like a cute puppy. :) Julia was extremely considerate and told me she tried to be as quick as possible since Chloe was a senior dog and she didn't want her to be too stressed about grooming. After grooming, I received a cute photo of Chloe and it made me so happy. I highly recommend J grooming studio! read more

Sooo glad Jin has her own shop; my dog is always tail wags excited when he sees her! Jin's grooming is consistently thumbs up; always go home with a happy, clean dog w/ a cute cut. Additional standouts: - Genuine, warm staff - Easy to find, with plenty parking - yay - Salon is clean with a comfy, cozy atmosphere - Competitive pricing; better deal than the major pet.co-mpany - Did not feel chaotic or rushed during the drop off / pick up process Def recommend! read more
I'm glad to have found these two gals! Super kind and helpful. And the salon is adorable and comfortable! And what I love is that they don't use kennels, and work on one dog at a time. It makes me glad to know my dog would get undivided attention and the freedom to stretch his legs after. I'm just really glad to find a salon that don't take on more than they can chew. Which some commercial salons tend to do. They really live up to making sure their salon minimizes stress on the pups. --He's shy and finicky around the face, but happy to see that they were able to work around that as I think his face area turned out pretty cute! We have him booked for his next appointment! Thanks again for his adorable bandana and cute embroidered towel. read more

We love J Grooming! The owners took such good care of my pup. They did a short consultation with her first, and had me fill out a sheet of what I wanted done on her, and the price list is on it so it's super transparent/ no hidden fees. It was her first time here and she loved it. Her service took about an hour & 45 minutes to complete, complete with bath, haircut, nail trim, teeth brushing. Definitely our go-to groomer when our pup needs a cut! read more

Jin has been grooming Ashton Blu since he was a baby!!!! She takes care of him as if he was her own fur-baby!!!! I am so happy she opened her own business and has the freedom to take care of our dogs how she always wanted to. The pups are able to run around freely while they wait to be picked up. We also love that she's able to take her time with Ashy. The shop is sooooooo clean, super chic, and cute!!!! I also love the decor and the birthday pictures!! The prices are reasonable and the operation hours are convenient. Jin sends a gentle reminder the day before the appointment. Oh and it has to be said - she does an amazing buff job on his nails, perfect lion's tail, and squeaky clean ears! Jin loves what she does and it shows!!!! read more

We recently adopted a special needs older rescue pup on very short notice. Her hair was months overdue for grooming. Among her issues as a rescue is growling-spinning fits when touched in certain places, which is approximately one-half her body. We previously had a wonderful groomer who took exceptional care of our aging previous pup until she passed. I contacted her to explain our rescue pup's issues. She was very willing to groom her, but when there, our current pup became impossible to groom without the risk hurting her with a clipper or scissors. We had heard that J Grooming was skilled in working with special needs pups. I called and surprisingly got an early appointment the next morning. To be honest, I was sensing another fail. However, the very kind ladies seemed well versed in how to handle troubled pups. First we all sat down to talk while our groomer held our pup to ease the process. Then she explained her philosophy on dealing with special needs pups. She asked how we wanted our pup styled, which surprised us given the problems we were experiencing. We replied as much hair off as you can or she will let you, but please try to get the hair out of her face at least. We left our pup and went to a coffee shop while waiting for the grooming. An hour went by, no phone call to come get her, too hard to deal with. Then 90 minutes. We repositioned back to the office complex where J Grooming is located and waited. At a little over 2 hours we were called, our pup was ready. Really? Did you get any hair cut? We got it all. We were amazed. We went to pick her up, and the first glimpse showed a little girl with a lot of overgrowth hair gone. Then she came running out to where we were when called. Dear readers, this is so exceptional to anything we have ever experienced. She was beautifully groomed far beyond our expectations, in just 2 hours. Our problem pup. J Grooming is now our pup's only groomer, even though the studio is a half hour drive for us each way. Every part of the service exceeded our expectations, by a lot. Some points worth noting about J Grooming. First, the pups coming and going are controlled inside, because there are no kennels for the pups, they have free run of the studio while waiting or completed. That is genius to minimize stress to a pup, especially a troubled one. Second, I was very impressed by the well appointed studio, exceptionally clean and very well equipped. Third, the groomer did a great job clearing our pup's ears of overgrown hair, and to our pleasant surprise, our pup's teeth had been brushed and the groomer didn't lose any fingers. Since we got her, our rescue pup had breath that could stop a freight train; no longer. Finally, the talking and bonding with our pup first and professional love by our groomer given her issues have never been seen in our experience of years of having a pup. On a 10-point scale, J Grooming is a 15. We are very grateful for their superb skill and very kind care of our pup. read more

i was rejected by so many groomers because of my dog's behavior/aggression problems, but thank god i found this hidden gem! as soon as i walked in, i was welcomed by the friendly staff (Julia & Jin). the salon itself was super clean & inviting. note that they do NOT have kennels in the waiting room so your babies are free to roam around, but it's a good thing because it eases their nervousness. Julia & Jin did a little inspection on my dog & after we were able to get him on the table, & they said they could deal with him. i was in SUCH relief. they told me they'd only be able to give him a bath & get his nails trimmed because of his issues, but i was okay with it because at that point i was already giving up & no other salon was even able to get him on to the table (plus they said maybe down the line he'll get use to them so that gave me a little hope). i filled out the new client forms in the waiting area while they were trimming his nails. i could see & hear them in the back trying to calm my dog & they were so gentle with him even though he was moving all around. as soon as i was finished filling out the forms, which probably only took like 5 minutes, they were done trimming his nails & it was off to bath time. they told me to come back in an hour & so i just went to do some errands in the nearby shopping centers. they had quoted me an hour to come back, but i was shocked they called me in 20 minutes earlier than the quoted time. when i arrived there to pick up my dog, i was surprised to see him happily roaming around freely. i was so confused because his behavior was way different than when i brought him in & he's usually not like that with anyone else. before paying, Julia gave me some training tips for my dog's behavior & i thought that was thoughtful & helpful. overall, i was SUPER happy with the outcome because my dog was super clean, smelt really good, trimmed, & he even had a little cute bib to take home. overall, i would 10/10 recommend this place to get your babies groomed at for a reasonable price. definitely will be coming back! thank you Julia & Jin for being such angels with my baby read more

This was our first time getting our Labradoodle, Noodle, groomed at J Grooming Studio. From the moment we stepped foot inside the amazing salon we knew our she was going to be well looked after. Julia was very professional, making sure she knew exactly how we wanted Noodle clipped. We have gone to other groomers where there is no care about your pet -however Julia even pointed out an ear issue which we did not know about. By far the best grooming studio I ever went to. The place decor is very cute, bright, and clean!!! We found our furever groomer for our furbaby COCO CHANEL :) Julia is amazing! We been going to her ever since we found out about this place, last year from Coco's breeders. I wanted to find someone that knew how to deal more with "long hair/fluffy" pets and I'm so glad I decided to go here. This gem is located in Ewa Beach behind Burger King. You go up the statairs and you'll see their studio..jsut ring their doorbell when you get there:) By the time I drop off my dog she's usually ready between 2-2.5 hrs. I love that she does not crate the dogs, she calls once their done so you can pick up your furbaby. I'd suggest booking at least 2-3wks in advance because she can book quick especially on the weekends. Her latest appt time she takes is 4PM- to keep in mind. She takes cute photos of my furbaby & depending on the season or holiday, she changes the backdrop! Enjoy some photos of my baby. COCO INSTAGRAM: @furevercoco read more

J grooming studio did such a great job in cutting our lexi's hair. Lexi is quite a difficult dog, she gets very antsy around strangers so need a little TLC. The staff have special touch with pets, giving them time to adjust and warm up before cutting. They offer premium package, with reasonable price range, given how difficult it can be to manage some pets. They also took pic of lexi after - couldnt believe they could get such a nice pic because we can't get a decent pic of lexi. Overall, love the service, definitely recommend this shop. read more
