We love bringing Tofu to see Cheryl & her team! We've been bringing our pup here for almost two years and have always been happy with the customer service and the service she provides to the pups that walk in. This place is on the second floor and. A bit hidden. However I love this place. The staff there is super friendly and they did an amazing job on my dogs. My little one always barks but when he went there he felt super comfortable which is rare they all must be dog whisperers there. Great place to take your dogs and they send a cute picture after they are done. We will definitely be coming back! read more

Cheryl and her Team are AMAZING! It was my first time taking our frenchie to a groomer and my first time meeting Cheryl. As soon as I was greeted by Cheryl, we were talking like we've known each other for a long time. Cheryl has such a warm spirit and you can feel confident leaving your fur baby with her and her Team. When we picked up Coco (our frenchie) she was so beautifully groomed, her coat looked amazing, her ears were nicely cleaned, her nails were cut down to a perfect length and she even had a cute little bandana on. ZERO STARS!!!!!!!Came here once it was a good experience so I came back a second time and NEVER WILL I RETURN!!! My poor baby was there for 5 hours just to be SHAVED BALD. I was expecting my dog to be groomed for $73 not just shaved.I wouldn't have mind paying if my baby would have been groomed properly. Love bringing my almost two year old corgi here. Always welcomed with friendly smiles and faces. Wait times is usually about 2-3hours. Nicole is hands down the best trustworthy groomer. By talking to her she makes me feel comfortable that my boy is well taken care of and is in good hands. Her persona just gives me good vibes and I trust she can handle my sweet, spoiled, sometimes hard to handle Corgi. The most I love about this place is that she lets him roam around to get comfortable first before grooming him. Other places such as Petco cage doggies while waiting and I hated that. That is why I'm never goin back there. Anyway I am happy to have found this place! My corgi always comes back to me cleaned and smelling fresh. We've brought our golden doodle to Cheryl for over two years now. For the most part we've been happy with her work. There was only one time that we were unhappy with our dogs cut but her hair grew out so it was fine. Our dog is on the bigger side so I always ask for the 1st appt or at least an early one. The last grooming took 5 hours so I generally go home & come back when she's ready to be picked up. Cheryl will take a picture of our dog & include it when she texts me to pick up. Prices are reasonable & we always leave a nice size tip as our dog has a lot of hair to work with. Cheryl is great & she's the only one we want working on our dog. read more

I was looking for a reputable groomer in Kapolei for my sisters precious Maltese Hōkū. I read through reviews and found Pet Haven Salon on Yelp. When I called, I spoke with Cheryl. She was very patient, thorough & informative. I had an appt for Thursday afternoon but my schedule changed so I called back to see if I could move the appt up to 8 am. Cheryl was very nice and accommodating. The location is upstairs in a small building next to Hele gas. The location is very convenient and easy to find. This was my first visit so I filled out an information sheet and I left Hōkū. I received a phone call at about 10:40am (2 hrs. later) to pick-up Hōkū. Hōkū looked so cute. She had pink bows in her hair. Her cut was shaped nicely & clean. Hōkū will definitely be back to see Aunty Cheryl again. read more

I brought my dog who normally is temperamental and is the Shih Tzu breed they did an amazing job they gave him a haircut and a bath he smells so good and I received recommendations for a veterinarian and also someone to see for fleas and ticks I totally appreciate this place and the owner who did his grooming was amazing thank you so much read more

Just thought I would share my recent experience with y'all in case you are thinking about getting your pets a haircut. Started with a 8:30am appt. We CLEARLY explained what we were wanting for her haircut. Nothing short, just a clean up with around the eyes and overall trim. (About half of her current length). Even gave the example of the cotton ball cuts for puppies. We then asked when we needed to be back to pick up our 4lbs Maltese/Yorkie mix (thinking it would be about an hour, a quick coffee run for us) and we were told to be back at 11:30am. (3 hours for her cut with only one other dog there) Returning at 11:30am, we walked in the see the complete opposite of what we asked for. She had a super short full cut, face trimmed so far back that it looks like its hard for the dog to blink, nails poorly cut and uneven, tail untouched, and two bows so tight that we had to go to the vet downstairs to cut them out. (We did not ask for the bows) When we expressed how short the cut is the groomer got very defensive and short. She grabbed a piece of hair that was not close to the length we dropped her off at and said that they had measured. Didn't care about the satisfaction of the customer at all. Wanted her payment and gave us our puppy. read more

I had an ok experience the first time I took my dog to the salon. But the most recent time I took him, the groomer told me my dog is a Shih Tzu, which he's not. He is a Biewer terrier. He's not supposed to be cut like a Shih Tzu, his breed is supposed to be cut like a yorkie. The groomer was telling me because of his snout and hair he couldn't be cut like a yorkie. I showed her a picture of my dog after a cut at a different groomer, but she said she couldn't do it. I just trusted that she knew how to cut my dog's hair. My dog is home now, and I have not gotten any compliments on how cute he is like usual. I've actually gotten comment on how ugly he looks . My poor baby. He is still cute to me. I had a less than spectacular experience at Tails of Hawaii, so I needed to look for a new groomer for my dog that was within a reasonable driving distance from my home in Ewa. I already drive to town 4x a week for work, so I've pretty much ruled out of all the groomers located in town. Thanks to Yelp, I found Pet Haven Salon. It's located in the same shopping center as Jack in the Box in Kapolei. It's on the second level of the building behind Jack in the Box, above VCA Pet Hospital. Parking can get pretty full, but there's usually at least a few empty stalls to choose from. I dropped off my dog at 9 AM, and Cheryl called me at about 12:20 PM to let me know he was ready. I always get a simple summer cut for my dog, since it can get hot in Ewa. I liked the work she did. It was a little on the pricier side. $73 + tip ($88 total if you tip 20%). I forgot to use the $5 yelp check-in discount (check in through the app), but I'll try to use it the next time I go. PS: There are some great eats in the shopping center across like Thai Lao, My Cafe, and Aloha Subs! Next time, I might just bring my laptop or a book and sit at the Starbucks across the street while I wait. read more

I called around to get them groomed. Two places flat out refused to groom them because they are chows. When I contacted Maikai via yelp, Lita was agreeable to get them groomed and scheduled my appointment. The appointment day and time came and no groomer showed up. I called Lita who told me she'd find out what happened. She called me back within half hour and let me know the groomer got bitten at the previous appointment and wasn't able to make it. She offered to reschedule the appointment and we did. I wasn't there for the rescheduled appointment and was worried my dogs would be temperamental since they never been groomed by an outsider, but it was my husband who got temperamental since he didn't understand what needed to be done. My mom was there to alleviate concerns and told me the groomer did the best she could. Because they were matted, the only option was a shave. My mom said the groomer took her time and really cared about her work. After the grooming was done, I received a call from Lita who discussed with me how the grooming went. I appreciate the call since I couldn't be there and I'm the primary caregiver to my boys. I give them five stars because 1. They took my boys in when other places wouldn't, 2. A person is always unsure when taking their 4-legged loved one to a groomer. Cheryl welcomed us with the "Aloha" spirit and we toured her office and how she operates before we made the decision to have her groom our "Poi" (Chinchilla Persian). Since that first day since 2005, she has never failed to always ask us how we want "Poi" groomed. Till this day, we have continued to see her. My Friend Told Me about this place and boy was she right. This place is awesome and I can never forgoet her name because it is the same as my sister:) I had a terrible experience somewhere else and Cheryl took the time to talk to me three times on the phone about her safelty precautions and the fact that her shop is OPEN and that I could see everything at anytime. Cheryl is the best groomer around. She's so experienced, but most of all she handles the animals beautifully. My Lhasa boy used to have a fit getting his face trimmed. When I took him to Cheryl, he was putty in her hands. Seeing is believing, as I saw that for myself. All of my four dogs get their hair/fur shaved off. They look great, and when it grows back it still looks so nice. I can't say enough how much I feel so fortunate that Pet Haven is in our neighborhood. read more

We just finished our first grooming with Cheryl at Pet Haven and we could not be more happy!! Cheryl did a GREAT job on our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. She looks so nice! Cheryl is not only a fantastic groomer, but she is very knowledgeable about different breeds and their unique characteristics and needs. I called on a Sunday and was pleasantly surprised they had an opening. I received superior customer service, Jen took the time to explain everything in detail and reassured me my "Teddy" would return to me safely and looking fabulous. I have been bringing my dogs to Pet Haven for a few years now. One of my dogs is older and cantankerous and requires an experienced and gentle groomer and Cheryl has the necessary skills to handle the dog. Best groomer in Hawaii! I have taken all my 11 dogs and cat to Cheryl for the past 16 years. She is always friendly, courteous and professional. Cheryl knows all the grooming tricks no matter what the condition of your pet is in and they always look like they are ready for show. We drive from Honolulu to Pet Haven because we like Cheryl so much, and really appreciate her customer service. I used to bring my old shih tzu who had heart problems to her, because she really took her time with him, and handled him so gently. She does an amazing job, my bichon looks great long after she's been groomed. read more

She recommends the right cuts and lengths for your fur baby and provides good education regarding dog grooming and hygiene. My dog always leaves looking fresh and smelling clean. We used to go to PetSmart before this but the prices are just outrageous nowadays. The prices here are extremely reasonable at about $75 cash and a few extra dollars if you pay card. I love the pictures they send at the end of their session that go by monthly themes! This place is located across the street from Saver's in Waipahu. There's typically always parking, especially in the morning. During the weekend, parking is sometimes tough. We recommend Royalty Groomers and especially Nicole! You can't beat the care and prices your pet receives here.
