He was supposed to have a bath before picking him up and that did not happen at all. Needed to go to the vet because of sores on his body. Then I look at there so called dog report it is pictures taken the same day and they spaces them out the time of the stay. They accidentally sent me pictures they already sent me in a report and I looked at all the pictures and they were done all the same day. They send you a warning that basically says that if your dog is jacked up not our fault, so be warned of this place. read more

We brought olive here a few times and she loved it! She was very shy and anti-social at first, but as she kept coming back she got used to the place and the handlers and got more confident playing with the dogs. However she got into an accident which resulted in her getting stitches. The handlers said she must have ran into one of the metal reinforcements and got cut, and that it wasn't from a dog fight and they checked the cameras and didn't see anything like that. They said when they walked the property after, they saw something metal sticking out and they think that's what stabbed Olive. When we took her to the emergency vet, she said because of the bruising around the wound and the way it was angled, it looked to be from a dog.. so I'm not sure exactly what happened?? The handlers cleaned Olive's wound and separated her until we came to pick her up. I asked if we needed to pick her up asap if it was an emergency and they said it's up to us, they could hold her there if necessary. But looking at her wound (which i won't post) they should've said it was urgent and to take her to the vet asap (which we did on our own accord). They did stop her bleeding though. Olive was still in good spirits and didn't notice her wound. She was in stitches and a cone for 2 weeks, and i did receive text messages and phone calls of them checking on olive and apologizing for her getting hurt. They also offered to reimburse us for her vet appointment which was really nice and helped a lot. We're really sad because this was olives favorite place to go, and she LOVED her handlers. It was an accident but just as a precaution she won't be going back. I do appreciate how kind and caring they were to her and that they did daily woof reports and pictures at no extra cost. read more

Thank you again for taking such good care of Juju. I love bringing him there because everyone seems to really enjoy what they do and not just there for a paycheck. I've had Juju at other facilities and I don't think those places had enough people that were trained on how to treat dogs or understand certain behaviors. I will never forget what I was told by one of the caregivers "if Juju growls or barks at another dog, its just because he's seeing a dog he hasn't met yet and not because he's a danger to other dogs". Once he is in the car though, he falls asleep fast. I love the woof reports that are sent via email, along with the pics of the day. I appreciate the easy pay option thats sent as a link to pay before pickup. Scheduling is easy to do online for future dog boarding or daycare visits. I took my time to wait and write this review because I wanted to compare this place with another doggy daycare I tried in town. Kamaaina K9 rocks!! I have to say that I was a bit skeptical because it's outdoors and it was my first time ever leaving my baby at a daycare. I wanted him to be socialized, though, and have fun experiences so I chose this place after our friends recommended them. First off, this place is SO much better than an indoor doggy daycare! Dogs love to be outside and why not provide them with wonderful fresh air and plenty of places to run around while they mingle at this park? The indoor facility that we tried smelled so bad of chemicals and the loud barking just echos and you get this immense chaotic feeling as soon as you walk through the doors. Not this place... it's refreshing, dogs are sunbathing in the sun and overall much happier. I was so sad when I watched my dog at the other indoor daycare facility through their webcam. There were no windows, tight space and all the dogs just looked so uncomfortable. My dog loves this place and I love how we get the woof report with excellent photos and feedback on how it's going. The workers here are so caring and I found that they are just full of energy and understanding compared to the other doggy daycares. Here's a rundown of my pros to this place: 1. It's outdoors! Dogs love being outside and not cooped up in some dingy building that reeks of chemicals and urine! 2. Lots of space for my dog to run around! 3. Safe- because it's not such tight quarters, dogs are more relaxed and my dog never came back with any injuries! 4. Online booking and ease of website: love this feature! And I could pay directly from my phone quickly. You also upload your vaccine info. Super convenient and organized! 5. Vaccine and fecal testing requirement: lots of other daycare facilities don't require a clear fecal testing but this place does. I think that's very important because so many diseases could be passed around through feces. I know, I used to work for an animal shelter! 6. Availability- I love that they're available for doggy daycare on the weekends. I called a different facility one time and they said they're only open Monday, Wednesday and Friday. That is so silly, I need time on the weekends! 7. Woof report- I love that they do this! It's so cute and I look forward to the report with the most adorable professional photos of your dog! You can tell they really care about your dogs. 8. Workers- I love picking my dog up and the girl who hands him over to me is just so energetic and always has great things to say about him. My experience at a different daycare, they were griping how they had to put my dog on timeout. I have only a few tips if you do decide to bring your dog in. It's outdoors so I put a bit of sunblock near my dogs nose because it was a little red last time. No big deal. I wish they had web cams so I could see my baby having a blast! It is up a dirt road so be prepared if you take your dog there. It's a bit bumpy... also, wish they had bigger signs leading up to the place because it was a little confusing to find the place. Just look for the small red signs if you so go. Overall, great experience for my baby. I feel comfortable taking him there to meet new friends and I will always bring him here than others doggy daycares. read more

This place is definitely an off-roaring trek to get to... but entirely worth it! We've been so pleased with the staff and the way they do business - they for sure get A++++ for CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE. It really is something, when they keep their website up-to-date on their holiday hours and even allow you to email/update records instead of printing it. The top outstanding features: Online Booking, Apple Pay, and Directional signs do you can't get lost finding the place. Pros: -Reasonable flat rate for all-day daycare! -Cage-free and I LOVE that they let my pupper play with the big dogs... I fee that she'll be better socialized that way rather than only playing with small dogs. -They give the CUTEST report card with some PRO-Level photos! Cons: -Okay, this place is literally up/down dirt roads in the mountains up Kunia... your car WILL get dirty and it WILL be bumpy. -The prices for the other services are meh... I'm sorry, $15 for nail trimming?? It should be like no more than $8 + the cost of daycare.. but that's just me. read more

Whenever we go off island we leave our fur babies with the amazing team at KK9 Adventures. They take such great care of our little girls and make sure that they have everything. We really love receiving their woof reports every other day with photos of our pups in action. The chance to socialize and play with all the other dogs each and every day is priceless and our two really enjoy it. We just got back from a three week vacation and even though we had to come three hours earlier than expected, the staff had our little girls all bathed and ready to go! My dogs love it here! Great location with a lot of fun time for the dogs while being boarded. Signs direct you to the property. They come home tired, happy, and clean. Prices are fantastic. Plenty of extras too. They even send pictures of the dogs playing. Super friendly and flexible. So happy with services provided. We have two large pit bulls and they have no problem socializing there. Military discount as well. Honestly will plan trips based on their availability. Give them a try! Aloha! I must add from other reviews.... We have used their services many times. All things people are complaining about are in the disclosure.... Hot spots, sore paws, thirst, and more. They get a bunch of exercise and in a different environment with clay, rocks, things they can jump on, and grass. Pretty normal if they are worn out, thirsty, and hopefully don't get paws hurt or hotspots but that comes with the territory. We love Kama'aina K-9! Lilo has been going there steadily for about 4 months, and also went there a few times as a puppy. We are so appreciative of everyone who works there and their patience and ability to work with my high-energy Retriever. They are so good at reading him and the other dogs to figure out who will get along with who and are on the spot if tension between the dogs arises. They were helpful when our place was under construction so I had to send my Lilo there nearly every day, including some overnights. We moved into a new house that had no fenced yard (boo) so my pup needed the leg room and interaction of other pups. We've always had Kama'aina K9 on our minds since the dog park hasn't always been the best experience. Our dog gets anxious with dogs bigger than her. Dina, our new puppy's foster, has been so nice and remembered our baby girl didn't like dogs bigger than her. They kept her with dogs smaller than her and even sent us a Woof Report midday of our baby. When we came back to pickup Koda, Dina gave us a report on how she's been the whole day. The staff has been very nice and informative as well. I initially booked via email since I don't have the leisure time to talk on the phone to book. Becky has been super helpful in letting me know what she needs (vet records) and when we let them know we were unable to obtain fecal sample for Koda, they did it for us. Our pup - who is HIGH energy - is finally tired out. We can't wait to take our new puppy (Luka aka Kanani) to Kama'aina K9 once he has all his vaccines. By the way, this is located in Kunia Loa Ridge make sure you get the gate code before coming!! I hopped out today the car today to help a fellow pup owner since everyone just sat there as the cars piled up. The off-roading to the park was fun and worth the dirt for your fur baby. My boyfriend and I took our corgi, Momo, here for the first time and WOW! She had such a blast! It was really easy to register as a member and book a reservation online. I also liked that they ask you to input every detail and whatever other info about your dog into their system to save for reference. I was even more surprised at their amazing prices too! We almost thought it was too good to be true. For Momo's first reservation, we picked a half day (four hours) just because it was her first time and didn't want to overwhelm her. Not to mention, she's only 5 1/2 months old and we didn't think she could have lasted eight hours haha! At check in, an employee was there to greet and assist us at the front where she directed us to put Momo in a gated play pen area and to take her collar and leash. We went over simple questions and even offered us a bath coupon for the end of her stay! They informed us they were going to do an evaluation on her and that they would send a report later. The "woof report" they sent us was adorable and they even sent us pictures that they took of Momo while playing with the other dogs! Even when I had some extra questions after, the staff were quick to respond through email! Overall, KK9 is awesome and Momo will definitely be back! read more

My dog is so happy whenever he visits here. People here are friendly with great care. I can tell my dog misses this place already.

This place treats your dog like an animal and not family. My dog caught kennel cough here and learned to mount after seeing two dogs mount over and over when being dropped off. Since he mounted one visit he is never allowed to be in the group play again. They were rude and told me "we provide a watching service, we can't guarantee he gets to play" and laughed when I said I would rather them call me to get him early. During this 10 minute call they reminded me 4 times that I would owe the full visit if I got him early, when I never asked for a refund or brought up not paying even once. They just want your money and do not care about your pet. Very unprofessional and another time my dog was locked in a pen all day because they had "too many dogs today". I'm not mad he was separated for mounting even though he never has before even at daycare, I'm mad about the lack of communication and lack of empathy or kindness when I called them to voice my concern. All they cared was that I paid my $26 bill. Just beware that your dog might get sick, or be alone and anxious all day while being here. I do not recommend coming here unless you want a sick dog. I came here for a few months and never had a good feeling about the staff either, sad that this is the only option for large dog daycare on island. read more

This was the first time I've ever had to board a pet. After utilizing their trial, 4 hour day, KK9 seemed like the best pick for us. A family emergency with a new puppy to board was really nerve racking. KK9 made the process super easy and put me at ease. I originally thought this place was great, I even bought one of their daycare voucher bundles. But I was really turned off one morning when one of the employees leashed my dog unprofessionally. For background, I'm been a veterinary technician for the last three years. I understand that my dog is a nervous personality. I always leash her and bring her out of the car and walk her to the entrance. The situation I'm referring too, the employee had me leash my dog as usual - I had roped her around her shoulder and chest. I know that if I roped her around her neck, she would freak out and choke herself. I had my dog leashed so that she was controllable and secure. Prior to handing the leash back, the employee told me she needed to be leashed around her neck as it's "most secure" that way. I told her, "no, she will freak out and choke herself. This is how we do it every time". I handed the leash to the employee and she immediately changed her leash from across the chest to around her neck. My dog responded exactly how I stated. My dog flipped out and began to choke herself before I got a hand on her again. As you can imagine, I was pretty upset. I understand in the animal field we often have owners that have false images about their dogs but I try my best to be honest and aware of how my dog responds to stimulus. I was very turned off from this experience and will no longer be bringing my dog there. One final note, in clinical settings, technicians like to use 'harness' style leashing, NOT around the neck slip leads. This is to prevent the incident that occurred with my dog. read more
