PetSmart - Finally found someone who can handle her crazyness! Thank you petco groomers - Pet Groomers Near Me - Mililani, Hawaii

We get our grooming done there, and I shop there for various items for my pets. My only complaint is sometimes the prices are pretty steep.

Friendly customer service, very clean, and very well organized. I frequent both Petco and Petsmart on a regular basis and I think both have their perks. Petsmart seems less smelly than Petco (Pearl City), cleaner, bigger, better well-lit, and the staff seems friendlier. I haven't used the grooming department here yet, but judging by my hit-or-miss service at Petco, I may start to come up here...the only reason that I don't is because Mililani is a bit of a drive and Petco is pretty much right across the street from where I live. Minus a star because Petsmart doesn't carry a whole lot of the "natural" selection. I'm kind of a dog food snob, and they don't carry the brand that we use. If they did, I would probably put Petco on the back burner completely. read more

I came here around noon. This is the first time I've been to a PetSmart where the employees are not friendly, not helpful, and constantly passed me around or put me on hold until they could find someone who could help me. My dog needed his nail cut and I was told someone could help my dog, but when the supposedly right person came to help me they told me they couldn't do it so I just spent 41 dollars on nail clippers that I didn't know how to use because no one could steer me in the wrong direction. I always chose PetSmart when I was on the mainland because they're more knowledgable and friendly than Petco. If anything, Hawaii should have the same standards. From what I've read on the reviews and my experience today, I have been proven wrong. This breaks my heart because I don't understand why people choose to work in a job that they neither like not have any smidgen of pet care/product knowledge. Either this particular manager is having difficulty finding better employees or training needs to be more comprehensive. At the very least, if an employee doesn't know, they can be responsible enough to admit it and still me personable and friendly. read more

DONT SHOP HERE!! One of the wort store experiences I have ever had, I went to visit one of the cat rooms to adopt a cat that I have been scheduled to visit and pick up and take home but one of the Petsmart employees told me false information that the veterinary assistant was closed on Sundays which is a lie because we ended up going home and they ended up giving our cat away to another family and when we called management they could not do anything to fix the situation they said pretty much just give us a bad review and we don't give a crap. Petsmart has the worst management ever and we are definitely going to sue for emotional distress. Do not believe anything at Petsmart employee tells you they have no formal education and poor training. Managers can't even hold their staff accountable. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! If I were anyone DONT COME HERE BAD EXPERIENCE. Now we are not going to have our dog groomed here anymore either, also advertising how bad you guys handled the situation to a lot of people in Mililani. Thanks for your horrible service. We will speak to your general manager on Monday read more

I'm writing this review based on my visit to the store tonight. I was walking by the car adoption windows and saw one of the cats was frantically trying to find a clean spot in the litterbox to do his/her business. Because the litterbox was pretty full, I went to speak to an associate. I saw Kristi and told her of the situation and she quickly went to go clean the litterbox. I'm really happy and thankful that she did that and that there is genuine concern for the animals. Thank you, Kristi, for being a great associate!!! read more

I needed to schedule my fur baby for a much needed hair cut & nail trimming. I walked in yesterday to get a quote & was able to tell Deana what I wanted done. She was very helpful & explained to me the different services they offer. She scheduled me for today at 11am, and I was told it would be about 3-4 hours. I was called about 2pm. Deana was working on another furry client when I walked-in, so I went to pay for the services at the cashier. When I came back, my fur baby was waiting for me & I almost didn't recognize him. He looked so cute & cleaned up with a bandana on. Deana explained to me that Titan was very good thru the grooming appointment & was a little frightened at first of their blow dryer but he was okay the second time. I know Titan would recommend Deana. He gave her lots of kisses & his tail was wagging like crazy before we left. If you're looking for a groomer, I highly recommend Deana. She is very calm, explains everything well, and from the picture, you can see she did a great job! read more

Don't really know how many stars to put.. The only good thing about petsmart was the dog training we did with Marcus Meade. He worked with us whenever our dog wasn't comprehending, he was so paitent, and just an all around good person. He was probably the MOST educated employee at Petsmart. The others didn't really seem to know any answers to any of my questions. Then we ran into Marcus! My mind was blown about how much he knew! We found out with training that our dog has a learning disability, like humans with ADHD. Dogs have it too, and once we found out, training sessions were more easier to work through because Marcus knew how to handle the situation! We went through all levels of training with marcus! From Puppy, Beginners, Intermediate, and then just graduated from Advanced! I recommend Marcus to 100s of people! If it wasn't for Marcus my husband and i would have never even went to petsmart in Miliani. It's dirty, and the employees are uneducated. The management is as well, sadly. So i give this a 2, but I give Marcus a 10! Hands down! read more

This review is specifically for Taryn (groomer): Taryn goes above & beyond, making sure ALL of Titan's grooming needs are taken care of. Left a msg for her on Tuesday (it was her day off), next day she fit him into her schd....AMAZING! She genuinely cares about him & her attention to detail is stellar! Taryn does more than just a quick pre-grooming evaluation, she takes the time to discuss all of our concerns, her observations, & makes suggestions; never pushes unnecessary services. She is pleasant & an absolute joy to see each time we come in! read more

I do love new stores. No smell, super clean and well staffed. Unfortunately the store was smaller than I expected for a mainland chain store. The selection was very limited. I would even say poor selection for natural food. There were plenty of staff around and the store was well stocked, but I was there before their Grand Opening. The store was designed well, open in the middle makes it easy to find the section you are looking for. I just wish they had more to choose from. They had saltwater supplies, though limited, but did not have saltwater fish. The food prices were no better than anyone else. I was always under the impression they were cheaper... Some toys looked cheaper, but still high priced over all. Had to take a star away for price and lack of selection. Overall a clean nice store, layed out well. But since I like selection and the food prices are not cheaper, I probably won't shop there much unless I am at the Town Center already. read more

Not sure what the work flow is there, but if you need something in a hurry or a reasonable amount of time don't bother using their online service. We ordered 3 things there and came from town as all the other sites were out of stock. We were aware that they would email us when the order was ready so decided to have dinner in the area. No email. After dinner we had stopped for dessert. No email. Two hours after we put the order in. We decide to just stop at the store. Got there, and just checked the shelves to see if it was in stock. It was. We told the clerk we were here and the lady goes off to get it. They make us wait. She is apparently grabbing other online orders as well. After awhile she stops in front of us with a pile of stuff and tells us next time we should wait for their email. So friendly and incredibly rude at the same time! I personally will never frequent this store again. I suggest you stay away as well. Unless you like this kind of abuse. read more

I asked an employee to check on the availability of an item, since the display shelf did not contain the item. 30 minutes later, the individual could not be found. I asked a second person to check on the item and she said the item was not available in the size that I was looking for. I found this odd since the display shelf clearly identified the manufacturer, size, stock #, and price. I will not return to this store due to contradicting statements and poor customer service. read more

We usually never have a problem getting my pups nails done here. The groomers always compliment on how well behaved and easy our dogs were. The groomer named Jocelyn did l both of our pups nails and the two were both bleeding following the appointment. Our jack Russell went first, and we noticed she was bleeding and brought it up to the groomer.l and asked her to be careful on our next dog. We watched him get his nails cut and noticed he was in pain, so we told her she was over cutting his nails as well. She believed she wasn't and said he wasn't being still and behaving. He ended up being over cut and bleeding as well, but she blamed it on our dog's behavior. Awful awful groomer and I would not recommend getting your dogs groomed here. read more

They take great care of my dog in the grooming salon, she always looks great after a visit. I watched through the large viewing window, the groomers are so nice to the dogs. Prices on the quality dogfood are comparable to other retailers, and they price match. They also carry Merrick now so I don't have to go to Petco. read more

This review is for two different occasions. The first I took my puppy to get his nails trimmed. Payed nearly $30 and honestly couldn't even tell, his nails were still visibly long. Left really disappointed. The second visit I was a little worried. All I wanted was hair trimmed for my dog whose hair gets really long on the top so it's like he has a Mohawk. Unfortunately that much of a hair cut only came in a package for a whopping $68. Though it included bathing, trimming, ears, teeth cleaning, and nails so I decided to splurge. A little worried I might come back with my dog looking bald. 3 hours later I picked him up and I was so surprised and happy at what a great job they did. All his hair faded/blended together really well, I believe the pet smart groomer was Sam. I would definitely go back to see him since he did such a great job. Also price I paid upon pick up was lower with coupon from book for purchasing grooming package came out to $65 I think. read more

Don't buy small animals from this place. Save yourself the heartache and the money. Like Petco, Pet Smart gets pocket pets from Cali, but Pet Smart's animals are sickly. I bought 4 mice in the last year from Pet Smart. 2 out of the 4 died within 6 months. All four had coughs when I bought them, and 2 out of the 4 recovered from the cough. The third is alive but sickly. I spent $300+ on vet bills for one of the mice. The fourth mouse is healthy and active. Buy mice from Petco instead. Even though Petco brings in their mice from Cali, they're healthy. read more

Got my dog Squirrely groomed here today. I had a 5pm appointment and I picked him up around 8pm. I absolutely love the way he turned out. I was a little scared about going really short but he had a lot of knots on his back legs. His groomer today was Sam and he was awesome. He took really good care of squirrely and gave me advise on brushing him everyday. I didn't do it because he would scream but Sam reassured me that he would be fine and he only does it cause he knows I'll stop (spoiled I know). I was a little scared to bring my baby here due to the mixed reviews but I had an awesome experience. Squirrely will definitely be coming back here to be groomed again. The staff here are very friendly and helpful. Thank you Sam and everyone else for taking care of my Squirrely! read more

Never been. Took my dog to get groomed @ Tails of Hawai'i with Kylie & needed toothpaste, so drove up2 Mililani. Parking is Bad bc it's shared by the Town Center. So people go 2 Zippy's & park across. Walking around no one asked me if I needed help. I did ask a girl for assistance finding toothpaste. Then I was looking @ the training for dogs & was introduced 2the trainer whom could also certify my dog after all the classes as my service animal... Wow! AWESOME! SO even though I live in Aiea, I'll be bringing my dog for his 1st series of training! Paid 4 it, SO COMMITTED! 4me, that Thursday afternoon I received Excellent Service. read more

This review is for the Grooming Department!!!! So we booked an appointment online for a grooming and luckily we had a coupon from "The Puppy Guide" (they sell this booklet of coupons at the store for about $20?) Anyways, we really wanted to use the coupon since winter is coming up soon and I wanted him to get groomed one more time before it gets cold & rainy (we have a Shih Tzu so they are fluffy dogs) ..we were kind of iify about taking him to the groomer again (this would be his second time getting groomed) because first time we had him groomed we took him to PETCO and when we got him back he had a lot of hair in and around his eyes so since there was so much his eyes were super red and had a lot of eye juice mixed with hair from being irritated ..so of course we were really disappointed because it looked really sore everytime he blinked ..so since then we were trying to be careful about where we groomed him ..but we were lucky enough to get an amazing groomer at PET SMART ( Deana )..she was very friendly and went very into detail about how we wanted him to be groomed..we ended up getting the plus which is an extra add on ...she explained everything and exceeded our expectations ..when he was done we were very pleased with the results!!! We will defiantly be back again to see Deana since she took such great care of him while he was being groomed!! Thank you again!!! So awesome!! Also! He got a free RED bandanna ..which just so happens to be his favorite color lol (actually my fav color so I made him like it too lol) so I learned Boy dogs get bandannas and girls get bows on their ears lol just for being groomed which I think is really cool of them to do.. he looks so handsome! read more

Usually we love coming here, but on this Sunday the cashier closer to the door was so RUDE!!! I was looking at the stuffed animals and she shouted "Those are for donations!!!" I needed to buy stuff to ship my dog to the mainland via plane. I was in a rush and had no idea where to find bowls and water containers that attach to kennels or even airline approved kennels at all. The staff was extremely helpful and I even found a cute purple kennel that I'm in love with. When it was time to check out I didn't have my coupon for 15% off and the manager still gave me the discount since I'm a petsmart member. The store is organized with an average selection. read more

My dogs hair cut was mediocre. Could have done it myself. They also expressed my dogs anal glands like dog groomers usually do. A week after her appointment she started getting an anal gland infection. She was is in so much pain and the vet bill was expensive to make her feel better. My dog is 7 and has never had these problem before and her first time to petsmart she has to go to the vet and be on antibiotics. 4 stars because I love there selection of snail, disease, and pest free aquatic plants!! Minus 1 star for inattentive customer service... I had to hunt down an associate so I could get some fishes.... And I had called in before I drove from Honolulu to mililani to ask if they sold "Siamese algae eaters" and they said they do! But when I got there it wasn't what I was looking for!! It was a "chinese algae eater"..... Believe it or not there is a BIG difference!!!! I normally shop at Pet Depot, but I was in the area and had to get some food for the turtles. It's my first time here and it's your normal large chain let store. A bit smaller than the others but fine none the less. My only gripe was there didn't seem to bee bought staff to help me. Couple years ago before Petsmart was in Kapolei and on Nimitz, I would drive all the way to Mililani for live fish. Petco was such a sad sight with dirty tanks, not even stocked. So far I've experienced the Nimitz and Mililani location suffer in customer service when I shop or call there. Yesterday I go to Mililani and their tanks completely empty. The girl in the fish area said "everyone bought us out cause we aren't going to receive fish in a long time, but there's a lot of glofish" Bahaha. 10.00 for a fkn yellow or pink Danio?? What do I look like 7yrs old? I'd rather scoop net at the ala wai. Whatever, her decision or the CEO's decision people are dying to get their aquarium groove on with the stay at home sht, their loss. I feel so bad that I've neglected the local neighborhood stores. Although I heard the guys at Petland Kahala are bitchy. We'll see when I go check it out. ANYWAY, no fish except for feeders at Mililani. ehhh... Your kid won't know you got him a 16 cent orange dinner bred for an Oscar. read more

I just took my puppy in for a bath and trim. The groomer "Cher" seemed friendly and being that my puppy is a miniature schnauzer she related she would do a very basic trim and keep the "schnauzer" look which made me feel confident in her ability. Of course I'm assuming that meant the beard would be left very pronounced and long as it should be. However I pick my puppy up and his whole face looks uneven and butchered.. I'm pissed and I hope that in the future she gets educated on what a proper grooming for a schnauzer is or at least provide better detail on what her version of trim is... read more

We come here often because they have a better selection and better prices then PetCo. Although Petco is close to our house. We will drive out of our way to come here. Their sales are great and if you sign up with them, they send you specials via email or their apps. Their hours are great especially since they are open till 7 on Sundays. The only reason I have them a 3 is because, they could use more staffing. Very often we are looking for someone to help us or waiting around while the few employees are done helping another customer. Tonight we waited more then 15 mins just to buy fishes. Another customer waiting after us, gave up and left. However once you can a employee to help you they are always friendly and helpful. read more

The staff are all friendly and helpful. And are willing to answer all questions that you may have. The store itself is clean and organized although it is a bit pricey. I do like the fish set up as it's not easily cramped by people like the Petco in Pearl City where their tanks are set in a circle with a tank placed in the middle making it hard to maneuver. I enjoy coming here for all of my pets (fish and dogs) However I am wary of purchasing fish here and may begin to travel out to Pearl City to do so. The past two or three weeks I've gone, I noticed that some fish carried Ich (very contagious fish parasite) while it can be treated fairly easily it's a pain to deal with. Other fish that had died were left floating in the tank where it's tank mates either nibbled on it or it became stuck to the filter. Ich appeared in several different fish such as the oscars, angels, and catfish. These fish OBVIOUSLY had Ich, and yet were not prevented from being sold or looked like they were receiving any kind of quarantine or treatment. Ich infected fish were left in the tank with other fish that did not hold signs of ich (although its safe to assume they all have it). Petco may not have as much selection for fish as far as freshwater goes, when I do go there is always an employee there tending to the fish. Petsmart, not so much. I used to trust the fish here but they seem to have had an ich outbreak amongst their selection and are having a hard time containing it. I purchased a pleco that infected my fish and later died from ich, a pictus catfish (expensive fish at $10.00) died shortly after being put in quarantine from ich, and now currently two african featherfin catfish (whopping $17.99) also had ich whom I am treating them for. Needless to say I have learned my lesson and will not purchase fish at this Petsmart. Anything else though is reasonable. If you choose to buy fish here even if they are not showing obvious signs of disease or sickness QUARANTINE THEM ANYWAY. It's much easier to treat one fish rather than a bunch of fish and your main tank. read more

I only found out we had a PetSmart while I was wistfully scrolling through their extraordinarily cheap prices of dog Halloween costumes on their website wishing there was a PetSmart on Oahu. I was about to place an order online when I saw the "pick up in store" option and found that there, indeed, was a PetSmart in Mililani! I didn't have to worry about the sizing for my dog or have to wait for the delivery...even though it was about a 40 minute drive. Just to clarify the big question, it is "Pet Smart", not "Pet's Mart", which was what I thought it was.. But it was bigger than any Petco that I have seen on the island! Their Halloween costumes were 75% off, and their Christmas items were 20% off (Contrary to stores that apply discounts after the holiday has passed)! To add to that, they offered to price match any item we were able to find that was cheaper online, but there was no need because their in-store prices were the best deals. There didn't seem to be many workers available and only one register was open, and most of them seemed to be in the grooming area. They also have little stations around the store that include poop bags, sanitary wipes, paper towels, hand sanitizer, and rubbish bins, if your furry friend should have an "accident". They have everything for your cat or dog, including guinea pig, fish, mice, turtle, and rabbit needs, and more! We went home with various bags of treats, a new Halloween costume, and my dog was happy as can be! If you're around this area, there's really no need to go any further or into town for your pet needs because everyone is coming your way. Come to think of it, "Pet's Mart" sounds more grammatically correct than that of "Pet Smart".. Just look at their sign and you decide, I guess. read more
