After a long day of work, I came to this location to buy my lizard some crickets and ask a question. I came across Katie who was super helpful in every way! She helped me find the products I needed all while keeping my budget it mind. She was patient and kind the entire time, which is a real blessing after working a 10 hour shift at a gas station. Don't waste your time. We went there to get a Guppy. We stood in the fish department for about 15 minutes, never once saw a sales person. I walked to the checkout and politely asked if we could get some help with a Guppy. The person at the checkout said I will get someone over to help you. We stood again for approx. 10 more minutes, my wife walked around the store looking for someone to help, anyone, with no luck. When she returned we decided to just leave, obviously we weren't going to get help. As we came around the corner there stood the checker that I had asked for help 1/2 hour before. She was leaning against the wall literally staring at the ceiling. I asked her if she could get our fish for us, she said NO and here is the best part. She said I am not LICENSED to get a fish from the aquariums. I said since when do you need a license? She shrugged and said that there should be someone here to help you and also commented the manager was giving an interview nd the other person was nowhere to be found. Obviously selling their goods is not a priority and she obviously didn't care at all. We left without our Guppy. Went to Petco on Power and was in and out in less than 10 minutes. The place is trashy and dirty anyway. So looks like I will be driving a bit further to get my pet supplies. I will NEVER go to that store again. Oh and I checked, you don't need a license to scoop a fish from the aquariums, so they are liars as well, stay away, stay away. very upset with the service i received today with the cashier at around 8:00pm. I had to return a few things and also buy a few things, one of those being a harness for my new pup, I had recently bought a new puppy book full of coupons and one of the coupons was for a leash harness or collar. When I went up to checkout and use the coupon she wouldn't let me use it and her reasoning was "Sorry it's too late" and then followed by "lol sorry it's been a long monday, and it seems like i'm making lots of mistakes today". the coupon was 100% valid, the only reasoning behind me not being able to use it was the pure laziness of the cashier not wanting to rescan the harness and apply the coupon. Why sell the coupon books if they arent going to allow you to actually use the coupons. Extremely disappointed, it's not very often i go out and by a new harness for a new dog. read more

Experienced rude, poor customer service for first time at a Petsmart from this store's floor manager and cashier so filed a complaint with corporate. 12 hours later the store head manager, Stacey, called me to apologize. We talked for awhile and it is clear she really cares about her store & her customers and wants to succeed. She made the situation right. My one request is primarily out of the stores control... but PLEASE parents, supervise your children and teach them to ask before petting some one else's pet! Ball pythons are on sale so I decide to go find a store that sells them. Get there and there is only one left. Lady wouldn't let me touch the snake and then pulled a tick off it and dropped it on the floor. Still wanted to buy it. She ran off and came back stating that it wasn't for sale and that it was "quarantined" this statement made as she was holding the snake and refused to put it back. Gave me no other explanation why except that he was new! Never came back to explain anything to me and only reappeared as I was walking out the door empty handed. Horrible customer service! I've been going to Banfield for years and I was about to quit. I had an emergency issue with one of my dogs and one of their staff was amazingly rude and totally unwilling to help, telling us that we had to seek another clinic for help. Not at all happy with them. Took my puppy for grooming and you couldn't tell. Their little printout says she doesn't like water, her head or feet touched. This puppy swims daily and loves her head rubbed. I don't know what they did to her but we won't be back. read more

Took my lab/pit mix to get shaved (as I do every summer) and the girl completely butchered it. I did it better myself last summer and I've had no experience in grooming dogs. All the male managers in this store are arrogant. The one young female manager is always sweet and helpful. The young female trainer is very condescending and thinks she knows all. Close to me and my needs for the dog. I didn't care for one of their dog- groomers, but I haven't had to deal with that person again. They have a great training program, and a lot of information for pet owners. Go in on the weekends if you want to check out potential puppies and kittens to adopt. The staff is friendly, knowledgable and available at all times. The consistency of the staff will keep us coming back again and again. We went to Petco recently because we were driving past, and quickly realized we've been spoiled at PetSmart. We won't make that mistake again. I've taken my dogs to this petsmart a few times before to get groomed and they have always looked nice. This last time I took my dog there I found four different cuts on him from being groomed. The cuts were bad enough that scabs have formed over the cut now. I will not be bringing my dogs back to this grooming location. read more

I love my local Petsmart! It's my go-to place for hamster supplies as well as cute little leashes, collars and harnesses for my 2 little dogs. I have always found the staff to be very pleasant and eager to help. Admittedly, I've always used a professional and highly experienced groomer in Scottsdale for our grooming needs, so I cannot speak to this location's grooming services. I would definitely recommend them for the retail side of their business though. read more

Over the past 2 weeks I have been a frequent customer at this particular PetSmart! I have a new puppy in my house and need lots of treats, dog food and toys! Of course, Howie, is eating the best dog food around BLUE BUFFALO! No soy, no gluten, and no corn and best of all no meat by products!!!!! Yes it is pricey but why wouldn't I want Howie to eat healthy food when I eat healthy food, right? The toy selection is OK, seriously I know a lot of people don't want to spend money on good toys, but really give me options people!!! As for the collar and leash selection, HELP! I have a boy dog and I am a girl-options would be great in this department as well. Think about it, it is his outfit and he should look fabulous everyday with colors that compliment his coat! The staff has been great and helpful with little training tricks-nice to have dog lovers work at a pet store. I would NEVER take Howie into PetSmart as it is just a breeding ground for illness. Geez, you never know what diseases other animals may bring in. Not everyone vaccinates their animals or takes care of them the proper way. Though it is nice to shop with your little 4 legger-they are better left home:) read more

So I'm at the counter with my mother & the old woman checking us out routinely asks if we have a phone number/account, no problem right? I tell her I don't have a number with them so you would assume she would just proceed to ringing up our items. Instead she automatically turns confrontational, snidely & loudly proceeding with "you don't have a number!?" My mother hesitantly says no & she would like to just check out. If a customer politely tells you they're uninterested in your membership, you would think this too would be the end of it. However, at this point the clerk is aggressive & angrily demanding a name & number. No joke, raising her voice at us repeatedly to "just give me a name". I stepped away while my mom cashed out because she'd elevated it to a point where we were just uncomfortable & wanted to get out of there. She rang up the items listed on sale as 3 for $7.50 but charges us $21. I point it out, only to be told that that's not true. She doesn't check, just would not budge so I took a photo of the tag that in LARGE print says 3 for $7.50. She's completely dismissive & says we already got them for $6.69 a bag so she doesn't know what we want. Seriously, I don't know what you're not understanding when you think $6.69 a bag is comparable to $7.50 for 3 bags. After seeing the photo she then says that price is for members only....you mean the one you demanding? Apparently when I stepped away she'd made my mom so uncomfortable she discontinued the membership process. We didn't want anything free, nor were we asking you to honor a member only price, if it says you have to be a member in fine print that's okay... I only asked for the clarification on the discount she was pretending wasn't even happening. If this is how she regularly treats their customers they'd do well to get rid of her, we went their for pill pockets her cats medication, not to be excoriated by the flaming A-hole check out lady. P.S. we also asked for directions to The Pet Shop that they proceeded to mock. I will never set foot in that PetSmart again but if I wholeheartedly recommend the Pet Shop if you care about your animals. They're the antithesis of this s*** hole. The young girl working the register comes across very sarcastic and rude when asking questions about my pets. She wasn't very helpful at all. So unhelpful that I left and drove to a different store to get the information I needed and the product I needed. Please train your employees to give good customer service in the future so you don't lose yet another customer in the future. read more

I bought 2 boxes of kitty litter on sale today for $12.99 each. That's $26.00, minus the $5 coupon I had, for a total of $21.00 plus tax. However, my bill came to $32.65!!! When I asked the cashier (a big guy with bushy brown hair) why it was so much, he pointed out on the receipt where I was charged correctly and the adjustments made for the sale prices. It still didn't seem right, but he just shrugged his shoulders. So I stopped outside the store to look at my receipt again. I had ALSO been charged for a $10 donation!!! He had asked me if I wanted to donate to Petsmart charities, and I said "No, thank you." But he charged me $10 anyway!!! Is this some sort of a scam??? It's against the AZ Consumer Law to charge someone's credit card without authorization! It's called Consumer Fraud! I went back in and told him I needed to speak to him, but when he saw another lady heading for the register, he brushed me off and told me I had to take care of her instead!!! HE KNEW WHAT HE HAD DONE!!! I found someone else to help me and issue a refund. That is the LAST time I shop in that store!!! (Val Vista & Guadalupe.) BEWARE!!! I'm normally not one to write a review unless it is well deserved. It's rare to find great customer service and help in major retailers these days. I must say that my experience at Pet Smart "Store # 1900" has been the best I've ever received from any retail company. The moment I entered the store, I was greeted with a friendly hello from "Dione". Now I must say that Dione had an exceptional attitude and got the vibe that she really enjoys her job and loves to help people and pets. She did a great job connecting with me and genuinely wanted to help. She was able to answer my questions and was very knowledgeable about multiple products and manufacturers. Dione also provided me with her personal life experiences when recommending a product. While I was walking out to my car, I thought to myself, wow I've never been treated that way in a large retail store. She made my experience feel as if it was a mom and pop shop and I will forever be a committed long term customer of Pet Smart because of her. I've worked a managerial position in retail for over 8 years and never came across someone that has exceeded all my expectations in customer service. I wish I could have her on my team. If I was in the position to give her a bonus I would but instead I will be posting this all over the internet, hoping it reaches management at Pet Smart.
