I was out of town for a family emergency & suddenly had to leave my dog Millie with my stepdad & mom. My stepdad had decided he wanted to get her groomed to keep her cool as AZ temps are heating up quick! I was really worried but he said they assured him over the phone that they were comfortable with poodles & sounded extremely kind and knowledgeable. THIS WAS TRUE. Going early in the morning when it's not crowded is awesome, especially if your bringing in your puppy for the first time (mines still going through some training so sometimes it can be a bit embarrassing bringing your dog in for grooming if you're not sure how well they are going to act.) Biased opinion: My dog, Gatsby the Mini Goldendoodle, is the cutest dog on the planet. He has personality, will smile when excited, and has the sweetest temperament. Unbiased opinion: Jen's Pet Parlor cares about my little Gatsby. He had issues in the past where he would hide after haircuts and just wasn't himself. Inevitably he would throw up due to stress or whatever he would get into. This has all changed since switching to Jen's. We've been going to them for almost a year now. I loved coming here! It was easy to make an appointment online and I was able to get in the next day. As soon as I got there Tiffany asked me very detailed questions about how I liked my dogs hair to be. Even down to how I liked his tail to be. I had only been to one other groomer before so I was a bit thrown off to be asked so many questions- in a good way though! I was nervous to leave my dog because he's very anxious but as soon as she took him from me he stopped shaking. When I picked him up he looked perfect! And he was so soft! Six weeks later and he's still soft which is something I've struggled with. I always felt like his hair felt wirey and weird after a while but they must use top notch products. I've had yelp for as long as I can remember and have never once left a review. I went in about a month ago and honestly probably wouldn't have remebered to make this review had my dogs hair not ended up in my mouth as I slept the other night. First, as I arrived to pick up my dog, he got rather excited, as I imagine most do when their parents come to pick them up. So the worker proceeds to passive agressively tell my dog "woah calm down dude don't do that". Again, nothing more than an excited pooch seeing his owner after he was with complete strangers for 3+ hours. Some people might not notice the agression which was portrayed ever so passively, however, I most certainly did and asked, "so did the dog give ya a hard time?". To which she then of course replied "Oh no omg no way he was great". I'm a sucker for giving rude folks the exact same energy they give out hehe. Now the reason I made this review. Pretty simple really. I paid, in excess, for a service which after about a day I realized what did I pay for at all? They quoted me around $90 for my dogs groom. When I showed up they informed me that he needed extra treatments or something so they charged me a fee which raised the price to about $120-$125 or so. This was no big deal at all since they informed me prior that if rhey needed to do more there would be an extra charge which I had no problem with. As a matter of fact, even after dealing with rude employees I STILL was so thankful that they made my wife happy and our beautiful Leo look and feel so good (so I thought) that I still gave nearly a $30 tip, which brought my entire bill to around $150-$160 if memory serves me correct. So the next day I start to notice there's hair around the house and falling off of him still. I go and run my hand down his back and no exxaggeration got nearly a handful of hair. Within mere days my house had hair everywhere and our clothes still were getting full of hair. I've gotten my dog groomed many times by many groomers and I have never been even CLOSE to this disatisfied. It almost borders on genuine confusion. Confused as to what in the world they did for hours with my dog? My dog looks as if NOTHING was done to him and yet supposedly he had extra treatments of SPECIFICALLY de-shedding? The only thing that I can truly see was done was the hair around his toes were trimmed. Worth $160? I'll let you decide lol. I probably should have tried voicing my conerns to this business, however, if a business is going to charge me $160 for an unidentifiable service, I'd imagine they're not too keen on refunding or making things right. It's 100% my fault for trusting a business and leaving a courteous tip without verifying the quality of the service, but still disappointing. I wish I didnt have to make this review as I was raised by a family who had a small business and I understand some of the everyday struggles of owning and operating a small business. But man, this whole experience was truly unacceptable, even nowadays where mediocre business is done everywhere. read more

We just moved to the East Valley and since we live really close to Jen's and they were highly rated, I decided to have them groom my pup. I called to find out pricing since she's a mixed breed and much smaller than your typical Brittany and I was told they'd have to see her but it would be less than the advertised price for a Brittany. I booked an appointment and brought her in. There were a couple pups there when I dropped her off, but I only saw one employee. Tiffany was scheduled to work on my pup and she took the time to ask me about what I wanted which I appreciated. We talked about the cut and Tiffany started telling me about upsells she recommended. I agreed to the de-shed treatment, although in my experience a special shampoo doesn't make any difference. Then she asked about grinding her nails instead of cutting them. I said that I'd prefer that she cut them unless there was an issue, in which case to please call me. She said that was fine. In the 5 minutes I was dropping off, Tiffany referred to my dog as old at least 10 times which I found to be unnecessary and rude. I'm well aware of her age, but she doesn't look or act it (people always think she's a puppy). Since she was a pup, whenever I drop her off for a groom she shakes and is reportedly fine as soon as I leave. When Tiffany called to tell me she was ready, I asked how she did. Tiffany said, "Well you know she's REALLY old and she shook the whole time...". That was not good to hear so I rushed over to pick her up. She looked nice and seemed happy when I got there, but again Tiffany told me at least 2 dozen times how old she was and how she needs special treatment for future appointments. I asked what she meant and she said she needed to be shaved to the skin because it's "easier". She said she'd be pink for a week but it'd be "easier". It might be easier for the groomer, but not for my pup and I've had her groomed at numerous places over the years and no one has ever said this before. Tiffany made some comment about hospice and I just stared at her. My pup is healthy and happy! Additionally, she decided to just grind her nails despite asking if I wanted it and I said not to unless there was an issue in which case to please call me. So I asked if there was an issue and she said no, but "old dogs need them ground". If that's case, why didn't she say that when we discussed it at drop off? I also asked about the price for the groom since my dog is much smaller than your average Brittany and she told me that she was doing me a favor by charging me full price for a Brittany since my dog is closer in size to a cocker and they charge $67 for a cocker. I looked online after I got home and cockers are $55 according to their website. It's not about the price (it's a few dollars difference) but I don't appreciate being lied to and up charged for multiple things, including something I declined. Because of everything I said here, I won't be back. Although the groom was fine, the entire experience was poor. ETA - I thought it was extremely unusual (and an oversight) that I was able to make an appointment without providing proof of vaccinations. So I brought them with me when dropping her off for the appointment but it was never mentioned. I've never been to a groomer that doesn't require a copy of her vaccinations before. read more

I was one of Jens first custmers back in 2015 but haven't been on Yelp for too long. Sorry Jen for the late review! I have a female Shiba Inu and a female Australian Shepherd Mix. They were each about 1.5 years old when we first went to see Jen. I worked in the same center at the time when the Now Open sign went up. My dogs came out of there so happy you could tell she took great care of them and they looked amazing. Skip forward to last weekend and about 12 visits later we had pur most recent visit. It used to be just Jen but now she has hired a lot of excellent groomers and my dogs always come out looking amazing and brand new! They get excited when I let them out of the var and they see where they are about to go. I have moved over 15 miles away but still go out of my way to take my dogs to Jens Pet Parlor. I originally found them on Yelp by reviews. I was please with everything start to finish. Right from the start we walked in it was a clean nice smelling place. The staff was super friendly and very sweet to our little teacup Schnauzer. It was her first groom and they were really good at explaining all that would happen. They texted us when she was done right in the estimated time they gave us.My daughter's one request was that she wanted a little hair bow for the dog. I was expecting a tiny little hair bow to be stuck on her head and they were super sweet and made her a mega girly tulle bow and gave her a fancy collar with it. My kids were so excited she was treated well.She walked in a little shaky when we came in and by the time we picked her up she was playful with the other puppies that were there. read more
