Undercooked Pete's Super Burger with Cheese

Drive thru staff is unpleasant. I come here once in a great while for memories sake. The frozen fish is good but not great. Fries are limp but go well with the red sauce. Cash only business with an ATM on site.

The Pete's Fish & Chips in Mesa is always popping so I thought I'd finally give it a try (except this location is closer to me). I was surprised to see how low the reviews were, at this location and the Mesa location. It seems most of the gripes are the long wait time. I attempted to call in my order to alleviate this concern however the line was always busy (and I called 6-7 times at different times). Okay, I decided to drive by and see if the line is as terrible as I've read. 7:45 on a Tuesday night and there was only one truck ahead of me. Score! I ordered the 5 piece fish and chips to share with bf. It does not come with tartar sauce automatically so I paid .45 for 2oz. It came out to $10.59 total. Cash only! (A bit inconvenient in this day and time, although there are ATMs on site). It only took about 5 minutes after placing my order to get it. I unveiled the hot goodness when I got home. It came with Pete's sauce which is/resembles cocktail sauce. Not my fave personally. The fish itself is square which is a bit odd/different than I am used to. It was sprinkled with salt. It was hot and crispy and I could taste the fish! The fries were good but they could have used another minute or so. Overall I can see why Pete's is so popular. Definitely give it a try if the line isn't long!

This place is literally the best place to get fried fish, and yes, it is absolutely worth the drive. It has the perfect amount of crispness, and the hot sauce it comes with is just amazing. Please note, this place is cash only; but that is also worth it!

This is a must if your looking for food that can't honestly be healthy for you or your arteries. I love Pete's fish and chips! The fish is always hot and cripsy and this location was no exception. It was amazing. I always get a two piece of fish with fries and a drink. We went through the drive thru and although it was hard for us to hear the employee on the intercom, she got us through quickly. Prices are reasonable. They have other items as well that are a must try!

Wtf is this ???? It definitely doesn't look consistent with the fried shrimp from any other location

Literally have been in the drive through for a full hour waiting on and order of ONE. I'm 7th in line and it has not moved for over 35 min. And it moved by one car in the past hour. This is ridiculous. Seemed like they're paying more attention to things besides the cars in the lines. I can't think of a reason it would take THIS Long for only 7 cars. Get your sh*t together KAREN!

I cannot believe how the shrimp have shrunk in size. They used to be as big as the styrofoam plate lengthwise. Today they are bite size

Gorton's in the toaster is better than this vile crap. They charge extra for their bad tartar sauce. Avoid.

Okay, my girlfriend and I saw Fishpop on IG and she really wanted to try it, so we came here today…read more We live on the west side, so it was like a 30 minute drive, but that was our choice, so I digress. It's in a food hall, we scanned the QR code at our table and ordered just one order of the spicy fish and chips. The regular order was $20 and the "spicy" was $22. FYI, the spicy is a bit of chili powder sprinkled on it, for $2 more LOL. Wasn't spicy at all besides the red coloring, haha. Past that, we ordered through scanning the QR code. We waited about 15 minutes for our food, no issue, we figured it was cooked to order and GOOD food should never be rushed, right? Dude. I'm not picky, I swear. The waiter/server brings our food to our table, we only got the one order because we wanted to try it before we bought another, given that it was $24 after tax, and $28 after tip. Though, not sure what I really tipped for now. They gave us ONE big square piece, the one in the picture, and ONE Raising Cane's-sized tender along with it, with a handful of fries. The big piece of fish was DRIPPING with oil, seriously just DRIPPING. I could feel my blood thicken and my estrogen rise just looking at it. Dude. We paid $28 for this?? ONE piece of decent fish and ONE piece of a half-breed between a chicken tender and a fish stick, DRIPPING with oil. The fries were seriously the only good part. The tartar sauce was okay. Do not be misled by their videos on Instagram. Pete's Fish & Chips blows this out of the water. Any other fish place blows this out of the water, jesus christ man. I usually don't leave reviews, but man. Fish Pop, if you're going to sell a $22 tray of TWO fish pieces and a FISTFUL of fries, at least don't leave it dripping in oil. I swear, you guys got a spoonful of the fryer oil and just splashed it right on top of the whole tray. It took 5 whole napkins to even be able to somewhat soak it up. Anyways, I do not recommend. Plenty of food here in Tempe, so you're not missing anything here and we definitely won't be coming back. Nice food hall and staff though, just terrible, horrific food from Fish Pop, jesus christ.

SENTRY - WATCHING RESTAURANTS…read more King's Fish House 35 S McClintock Drive Tempe, 85281 Good places to have a fish dinner are getting hard to find. We decided to give this one a try. Companion and I arrived at 5:45 and were seated promptly. Our server Nikki brought menus and took our drink orders. We started off with Calamari. It was perfectly cooked and came with 2 sauces that I have never had served with it before. One was MaPloi, and the other was an aioli that was nicely spicey. The portion was large and unfortunately, we couldn't finish it. Companion ordered Fish & Chips. A nice sized portion of cod, perfectly fried. Unfortunately, the chips were not fried the way companion asked for them and most of them were left on the plate. For myself, I ordered the Scallop & Shrimp Combo which came with nicely prepared brussel sprouts which were grilled and then had balsamic vinegar over them. I also ordered the char broiled zucchini, which I did not care for and left most of it on my plate. On to desserts! Desserts are prepared in house and not from the outside. Companion ordered Bread Pudding. Sliced from a loaf and served with a Jack Daniels Whiskey sauce and a ball of vanilla ice cream. Companion was so full that it was not finished but not before declaring it to be delicious. I ordered the Butter Cake. A delicious cupcake sized portion tasting deeply of butter, served with whipped cream, berries, and topped with vanilla ice cream. Once again, the portion was so big that I could only eat half of it. As one might expect in a restaurant of this caliber, it was squeaky clean. Service was efficient and almost all of the food was prepared as ordered. 5 stars

Over the years & after multiple visits, there has never been a bad one. The food is always delicious. IMPORTANT NOTE: the pasties are pre-made; you cannot ask for substitutes or to leave this or that item out. Do not worry, however, as I am picky (don't like onions or peppers), but I have never had an issue with finding something to eat here. The house made bread is absolutely aaaah-mazing. Hell, I could eat multiple plates of it alone for my meal. Thick slices of goodness. The drinks are hit or miss, though we have never had an issue with a simple Old Fashioned. :-) It's a bit dark inside, they have a substantial patio on the north side of the building, and the staff has always been friendly. The parking is not bad as it is part of small strip mall, but don't expect to always be able to park immediately close to Cornish (especially during busy times). Spice level was medium and went with the 88 Special seasoning (a combination of cajun, garlic butter, and lemon pepper) - AMAZING flavor!! This place looked like it did a good seafood boil and was located near where our hotel was. Upon entering we were greeted and sat right away. He ordered a shrimp basket while I ordered my usual snow crab. Heads up, all the supplies will be brought in the bottom of the discard bucket like gloves, lemons, and crab crackers. I wasn't aware of this, and placed all the discarded items on top of it while eating bareheaded as I didn't see supplies, and no one was around to ask. Usually places will bring on the side, and I wish I was told that in advance when it was brought to the table. It made for quite the mess, but if we return I'll know for next time. Once our server returned to check in after 10+ minutes that's when we were advised, and I adjusted though I had put my boil bag in there so most had been soiled. As for the food, he liked his shrimp while I thought the crab was okay in flavor/spice. It didn't really standout out like other places I've been to recently, but overall I would return if I was in the area.
