Great breakfast food. Love the gyros. Small place and limited hours but worth the time

Thanks to Yelp I found this great little diner. It leans towards Greek with many different options for breakfast and lunch. I got the traditional eggs, bacon, potatoes, and toast. Everything was really good. The only options for toast were toast. I would have preferred an English Muffin, but that's ok. My husband had the Greek skillet and really enjoyed it. Service was great with plenty of coffee refills. This is a local neighborhood no frills place. We will certainly be back when in the area. read more

We specifically searched out a "greasy spoon" type restaurant that wasn't a chain. We went out of our way to Pete's Cafe for breakfast and weren't disappointed! It definitely wasn't greasy and everything was freshly prepared. The staff was very friendly and welcoming! We really enjoy going to Pete's the people are super nice and always make an effort to remember you. Thier gyro breakfasts are great and they also have very good pancakes. Unfortunately last time we went none of the staff were wearing masks. We will not be going back until either they reinstitute a mask policy for thier staff or the pandemic ends. First time here, got a meal to go with a friend. The place was small but cute looking, old diner feeling which I loved. Plenty of food for a great price and the food was also just as good. We got bacon and egg breakfast and a side order of fries. Pancakes were a little burnt on edges nothing crazy though. We were traveling through Denver and decided to try Pete's for breakfast. Greeted warmly by owner's daughter, Vi who promptly served us water and a delicious cup of coffee. We ordered the ham, home fries, egg, pancake and biscuit and gravy. The fries are REAL and not from a frozen bag! Wish we could come back and try them for lunch. My wife and I decided to grab a quick breakfast on our way to run errands - this Diner style place seemed perfect. The waitress was very attentive and kind. I ordered the breakfast burrito with chilè and my wife got the biscuits and gravy. The food was excellent. My burrito was smothered, hot, and tasty. My wife's gravy was thick and savory. It was good home style cooking, like the type of breakfasts your grandma used to make. What was the most impressive was the staff. The treated us like regulars and were quick with refills on drinks and checked-in regularly. If you want a great hometown feel with tasty food, then give them a try. Great little diner. Not much to look at from the outside. The food is outstanding and consistent. The wait staff is always friendly and makes you feel welcome. The food is delicious, I'll start there. However the service left a lot to be desired. I was meeting a friend who I meet once a quarter for breakfast. We usually sip coffee, chat and eat for a couple of hours and tip well for the table space. At Pete's not only did they rush us to order they asked us to leave at the hour mark. I had a delicious breakfast at Pete's cafe this morning. I had the veggie omelet w/homefries (very good) & toast. My son had the kids pancake w/bacon & eggs. I ordered his egg over medium, it was perfect. This is as close to home cooked food as you can get. The building is small, but clean. The waitress was friendly & attentive. Prices were fair. Great breakfast food and wonderful staff. Been coming for the past few years to meet with a friend to catch up, even after months passing by, they still remember us and are always so cheerful to say hello. There's a family affiliation to Pete's downtown, so you know it's gotta be good. I was so excited to see this place in South Thornton. I guess it might considered a greasy spoon style diner. Great coffe, great traditional breakfast items like bacon, eggs and pancakes. But the absolute must-try is anything with Gyro meat. The gyro sandwich is perfection. I'm sure there is something I can say negatively about this place. But after my first visit there was not one bad thing to say. Found via yelp in an area I am not familiar with. 4 stars and 1 dollar sign, may as well try. Breakfast burrito was great. Green chile was very good. We sat at the bar and watched ate after plate come out and everything looked great. If you are ever in the area and need breakfast or lunch, I'd highly recommend it. Ehhh...I have definitely had better. -Portions are teeny tiny! -There is no seasoning on the food. -Pancakes are decent. -Service is SLOW! These are pretty much all of the things you would need to know about Pete's. A girfriend and I stopped in for a quick breakfast because we were in the are. I would definitely not go out of my way to come back. I got the sausage and egg breakfast with a pancake. This was literally the smallest portion I have ever seen...and it took 15 minutes! My friend ordered an omelet and asked if she could add spinach. Our waitress said they didn't have spinach. This was weird because they have a spinach omelet. My friend said her food was just ok. The thorton area has an incredible amount of residents whom live within its city boundaries and by far not enough resturants to keep up with all the residents. However their are a few standouts that are great. Petes is a great Greek family owned resturant that can be found also at several locations on Colfax in denver. This location like the ones on Colfax is small and intimate. The location is on Washington Street at the bottom of a valley. It has very few parking spaces. I had to sit and wait for one to come avail when I arrived at 9 am on a Wednesday morning. So arrive earlier to avoid this. I ordered a biscuits and gravy with home fries. The biscuits were cooked to perfextion, soft and butterly. The gravy had a nice flavor to it. Added a liitle extra salt and pepper and it was good. They did not get five stats because their heaping portion of home fries were under cooked. Barley any brown at all on them. But it was probably because they were busy. I will be back. read more

The family wanted to try something new. I came across this restaurant correction request on called Pete's Café. Right when I walked in I noticed this was an outstanding week restaurant not buy the food by the fact that Pete knew all the customers that was right beside me. I felt as though that that was amazing coming to an establishment and I know you by your first name and he welcomes you with a hug and a kiss on. It's good to see you in establishment that is always food always for people and waiting to be seated that toes right away that one the food is good and to buy his relationship with his customers there's a lot of repeat customers. The weight when I came in was about 30 minutes. I felt as though that that was a sufficiently time for it establishment such as his. Actually we waited less than 30 minutes when seated we were greeted with water. Once we place our orders I'll stay with in a matter of 10 maybe 15 minutes or food was delivered. At first glance food not seen a large portion but once you start eating it and kept eating and eating and eating you notice that it was a very large portion for a very reasonable price I highly recommend this establishment for all my peers and I look forward to coming to this establishment again. Oh and coffee was $1.70! You can't beat that with a stick. I have been eating at Pete's Cafe for years when he started out on Colfax street! I went to the Eppinger and Washington Street location for a burger and fries today. I have ordered burgers from that place before with no problem. Today my cheeseburger was raw in the middle so I called and took my food back. The waitress was nice but Pete was rude and proceeded to argue with me. He called me nasty names and threatened to kick my ass outside his restaurant! I told him go ahead if he wanted to go to jail. He has a potty mouth and a bad attitude. I will never eat there again and you shouldn't either! read more
