    Came in today around 11:00am to purchase some eye ointment for my dog and was provided excellent customer services by the two young employees at the store. They were both really sweet to my pup who is very nervous around new people (rescue)- however I believe my dog reads energies really well and he was more relaxed than usual they gave my pup some treats and gave him a few tennis balls to take home with him. The whole interaction made my day and I appreciate the store associates kindness. Also the store was very stocked which is AWESOME

    I give 5 stars and a big HIGH 5 because we've been to a few groomers but Petco has proven reliable and affordable. Because the care is great, the space is open but small enough to be quaint and friendly. The dogs are not upset and the groomers are knowledgeable. I don't have to over explain or correct. They know their job and that's what's important. I recommend the location at Preston and 121 in Plano! I can't say enough because dogs are precious and caring for them during a groom is so important!

    i gave 4 stars because prices are quite high when you can find the same stuff on amazon cheaper. BUTTTT their grooming prices are great in my opinion. $34 for a bath and brush and all the little things they do on top of that... can't beat it. I read some previous reviews after taking my dog there but he never gets a haircut and that's what most of the complaints were about. my pit mix always goes in jumping on everyone so happily and always comes out smiling. they do a way better job bathing him then i ever could (and i have tried). he always smells way better going there vs when i do it. no major complaints here!

    I just wanted to come on here and say I had the best experience here (today at this specific location) that I've ever had at any pet store! My 3 year old and I walked in to get a new betta fish and were greeted right away by Justin. He then made our day by getting out a ferret for us to pet! He helped us with picking out a fish and snail, and was super knowledgeable about the care (since we've had problems keeping fish alive in the past...). He was incredibly friendly and we will definitely return to this Petco and request him if we need anything more in the future. We went to a *different* store for our first betta and the employees were less than friendly to my toddler and I. This was a completely different experience and I'm so grateful we stumbled in here. Thank you so much, Justin, you are amazing! (Somebody give this man a raise).

    Please read BEFORE booking a grooming appointment. I empathize with Xiomara in the reviews below. My pup too was shaved to the bone even though when I went in for a haircut after waiting almost 3 weeks for an appointment and told them I wanted a teddy bear cut for my mini golden doodle, see pics below, I brought him home looking like the second pic and was in shock honestly. Never in 25 years of owning this type of long haired dog have I had this kind of botched service. Called back to store once I really got a good look at him and was livid and asked store manager for the manager of the grooming...not in, call tomorrow. I just called and her name is Chelsea I believe and I tried to explain to her I was very dissatisfied and she told me that due to the docs I initialed and where I signed that i was agreeable for them to do whatever they needed or wanted to to my pup no matter what and she got fairly testy with me when I asked for a refund and told me since I signed away my rights to be satisfied with the end result I could pound sand (paraphrasing) and that they would notate my account that I need not use their services any further! WOW! What happened to "customer is always right" mentality. I guess it's a new age. It's almost November and look what my pup looks like now...for the oncoming winter? I will have to dress him in a sweater at another additional cost. I told her I could easily shave him down to the nub for free, as I often do and that I shouldn't have to pay for something I can do myself. I brought him to a professional so he would look super cute for the holidays. He's very shy and embarrassed now but they don't care apparently. I sure hope anyone considering this terrible managers store reconsiders before making the same mistake I did and others below me on these reviews. I have taken him to real groomers in the past and not once, even if some mats present has he been shaved like this. They always somehow made him look like a teddy bear. They were just lazy and wanted to churn out another one as fast as possible. The girl told me it would take 4-5 hours...90 minutes or so later he was done...I even said on the phone, really? That was fast. Buyer beware. I am going to go to corporate and go over this girls head now too...she can't speak to a customer like that...no matter what.

    I took my puppy for a grooming at this location, they shaved his hair to the bone and not only that my puppy came out shaking and terrified.

    Meh?! Prices were high, selection was low. Asked about price match but the attitude was such that I almost walked out the door. "We price match companies that have paid employees." Me: "Like PetSmart and Walmart?" Employee repeats and walks away. Store was empty. I almost didn't bother to look at the Petco.com price since the shelf price was 20% higher than we've been picking up around town. Really need much better attitudes and customer skills. I then wandered around clearly looking for the product but apparently I had been dismissed. Finally a young man came from the rear and helped out. Just not feeling the love or desire to come back. I'm trying so hard to take business to this company but, there is something wrong from a management viewpoint. Attitude at checkout was cordial and ok but I'm walking away not wanting to return. That's bad. Very bad. ------------- Update: Just Got reply from Corine @ PetCo that just shows that they don't get it. Not even a little. This was NOT a positive review!!!!!

    I can not recommend this business! I dropped off my Golden Retriever for a BATH ONLY!!…read moreThat's what I ordered on-line and confirmed verbally at drop off. BATH ONLY!!! I picked him up and he had been de-shedded, nails AND his paws were trimmed!!! Some customers might be happy about getting a service they didn't pay for. If the de-shedding, nail and paw trim was what my dog needed AND it was a job well done, I might feel differently. But that is NOT the case! De-shedding issue: My Golden does NOT have the long, flowing "typical" Golden fur. His is fur is fine and short, it just doesn't grow much and does NOT to be de-shedded!! It finally had just gotten long enough this past year that it layed down. Now, it's sticking up every where, gets tiny tangles, is a shaggy mess! Nail trim and Trimmed paw issue: When I say, they trimmed his paws, you can see where they just snipped the "grinch fur" sticking up on the top of his paws, not that they did a nice trim job and blended the fur etc. Some Golden owners might not like the "grinch feet" but I am not one of them! The nails didn't even need a trim, now they have jagged edges!! The paw trim was not a job well done and was NOT a service I asked for!! My biggest issue though, is getting a service I DID NOT ask for or want!! WHY were grooming tools even near my dog when I ONLY ordered a basic bath?? I have sent an email asking a manager or owner to call me to discuss this. I have also called multiple times asking to speak to someone in charge or call me and nothing!! It's been a week now, No response to my email and no call back. So this is my first negative review EVER! So at this point, all I can say is, DO NOT GO HERE if you want any level of professional customer service or if you want any service that is what you asked for and looks good!

    I am absolutely devastated by what happened to my dog under Helen's care. I trusted her to groom my…read morebeloved Bernese Mountain Dog, but instead, he was left injured and sick. She used harsh chemicals on him and left them on too long, which burned and irritated his skin. On top of that, she aggressively scratched him with deshedding tools, leaving him raw and in pain. Within 24 hours, my sweet happy and energetic dog became lethargic and very unwell, barely able to move and not eating or drinking. We had to rush him to the emergency vet, where we were told that his rash and sickness were caused by contaminated grooming tools and/or the harsh deshedding products that were left on him. I asked all the questions and double checked that there was nothing else that could have caused this and he doubled down on the groomer causing this harm. Hearing this from a medical professional broke my heart -- my dog suffered because of carelessness and disregard. No pet owner and more importantly no pet should ever have to go through what we did. I entrusted Helen with the health and safety of my dog, and instead, he was harmed and traumatized. Please think twice before allowing Helen to touch your dog. Our pets deserve gentle, safe, and compassionate care -- not to be put at risk.
