Same fish at petco.com is less than the in store price and the associate wouldn't price match it and they are the same store. I called and spoke with Tyler asking if they had a certain medicine for my cat, he proceeded to tell me it wasn't in stock but that there was other medicines like it. when I tried to tell him the brand name so he could look again he rudely said have a nice day and hung up. I went to the store and they had 4 boxes of the medicine he told me they did 'NOT' have. highly disappointed. you're getting paid by hour to have good customer service, not to be rude and disrespectful. read more

Wow. I havent been to this store in some time. Everyone was so friendly and eager to help. We, my daughter and I, had a great conversation with Sara. I think she's the manager. She loved my half purple hair. Store is so clean and employees are so cheerful and helpful during these uncertain times. Sara seems to absolutely love her job and her employess. I've been coming to this Petco for 2 years and the employees have always been helpful. CJ is an incredible manager for this store and Davin is a incredible dog trainer. He has been training my dog for 2 months and I have seen a huge improvement. Totally a new dog! I visited Vetco clinics held inside this Petco twice now. I do not recommend them for too many reasons to list here. I believe some good customer service training for Vetco Clinic team leaders would go along way, especially since they let customers know that they are not held accountable by Petco management. (You have to contact "corporate" if you want to complain.) Biggest complaint is what appears to be apathy on part of team leaders. Maybe I'm used to having vets who welcome pet owners and their pets because most vets seem to have a passion for animals. I realize Vetco only provides vaccinations, but they should still provide good, compassionate service, especially for charging as much as they do. Petco always gets a 5 star rating. It's too bad that Petco has to be associated with Vetco poor customer service, since Vetco holds their vaccination clinics inside Petco stores. read more

I always had a great experience with Petco Grooming, not only my puppy had a gorgeous relaxing day spa, but he comes out smelling and looking like a star! :) First time visitors get 25%off of your grooming haircut and free nail service. They also give you the option to pick your dog late. The customer service always exceeds my expectations. I had another dog which always loved to come here, too. They play with your dog, treat them so well, give them treats and do an excellent haircut using great quality shampoos, extra service as nail cutting, ears cleaning is very good too, also very happy with their fair prices, highly recommended! This was my puppy's first time getting groomed so he was nervous and I think the groomer could have done a better job to make him feel safe and comfortable. Instead, she let him thrash around the table and he seriously could have hurt himself since she had that table collar wrapped around his neck as he was doing this. I will definitely be back, but I will try out a different groomer who has more practice with making the animals comfortable. read more

First time coming to this location and I am impressed. I made the trip out here from Maricopa to get my dog vaccinated through their affordable clinic: VETCO. I came around the time that they opened 6:00 PM (posted online) and the line moved fairly quickly. While waiting in line, I was surprised that their employee was passing out treat bags and apologizing for the long wait. I have never been to a Petco where did they did this and I thought it was such a sweet gesture even though the line wasn't even that long. Another employee came around and passed out clip boards attached with paperwork for you to fill out while you wait. I would recommend coming with another person if you have a curious pup who likes to get into things. It makes it very difficult for me to fill out paperwork and watch her at the same time. I waited about 15 minutes before I was consulted by one of their technicians. She was friendly, sweet, and knowledgeable about all the different types of shots and services they provided which makes me happy that they actually know their stuff and I can rely on their recommendations. Prices of the shots and medicine has gone up but it's still affordable. $32 for a Bordetella shot, temperature check, weight measurement, and mini physical sounds pretty good to me! Took 3 technicians to handle my pup and they were friendly, gentle, and sweet. You can tell they love animals which is awesome! Highly recommend this place to get shots and I'll definitely be coming back to this location. read more

Really really good fish service. Really clean tanks with healthy appearing fish. The fish area was well stocked with everything uou need; filters, food, plants, eyc, etc. We had TWO people helping us and they provided TONS of useful info for us fish tank rookies. I've been to this petco location on numerous occasions and every single time I've gotten great customer service. The employees are very knowledgable in regards to what I had questions on, and today was no exception. One associate helped me locate the new dog food I was looking for (same price as amazon) and the cashier informed me of their awesome return policy. Thank goodness for those low cost vaccines. With six dogs this comes in handy. This petco is close to condo so it works great for us.

Don't expect to buy a fish in less than 30 minutes. No one is ever there, when you ask them for help they are like "yeah, let me call someone" and never call anyone. I had over 100 bucks in fish tank products and fish I was willing to buy but not a single employee was able to bag a couple of fish, so after 30 minutes we left. Never again, there's a pet smart less than 2 miles away, don't waste you time. read more

We came in today to purchase a clown fish for myself and a hamster for my son.. I've been coming to this store for several years and the customer service just went downhill.. Today was my last straw! I approached this man who refers himself as the "aquatic specialist"and he told me he was going to have someone come to assist me..I waited for about 15 minutes, standing in front of the aquarium section and nobody came..A few workers walked by and didn't bother saying anything. While I waiting, my son came and told me he asked a worker who was nearby to help him get a hamster and they told him "not right now, I'm with someone" and just pretty much brushed him off! This is not acceptable!! I looked at the registers - I did see people in line but also 2 other workers just standing in the front. Like, they couldn't come and help us?!?! We just left.. never coming back to this store again! The only reason why they get 1 star is because the variety of items they have and that's it. read more

Their manager Lisa was incredible! Took my seven week old puppy shopping on Saturday am. Happened to be dog adoption day which made the store busy & full of barks. I went to this location because their website said the store had a chew stick flavor in stock that my closer Petco didn't. After I searched every aisle, found Lisa & she helped me. After she went on store's iPad & found chew was supposed to be there, she looked for it. She knew how well her store was merchandized that she knew they had a separate display with that brand of chews that was behind where the dog adoptions were going on. Literally the only area of entire store I hadn't walked. Lisa deserves a raise! read more

Two stars for petco, NONE for petco grooming. I'll start with the groomers. I took my dog here because my usual place was closed on a monday and I needed my dogs face trimmed and her ears cleaned. Staff was okay when it comes to being friendly...proffessional? hmm...not so much. First of all, the dogs don't need to be dragged across the floor if you need to come to the front to greet a customer. and leaving one strapped on a table and walking away? a disaster waiting to happen. what I thought was sad was a golden in the back sitting there for forever being blown in the face to dry. who knows how long the poor dog was back their before i arrived or after i left. As for how my dog turned out, my four year old son could have done a better job. 21 $ for a facial chop job .. never again. the store itself is okay. okay prices, usually have what im looking for in stock. the staff is okay. sometimes i find them talking amongst themselves in the corner instead of taking care of customers, but whatever. I don't believe this store should sell live animals. their cages reek and the employees do not educate the future owners on how to properly take care of the animals. One more thing, they place live crickets in little plastic containers that you can find at the back of the store. Only the containers are about two months old, and the crickets are dead. I know they are just crickets, but come on! read more

I like Petco, and always have. However the past few years they have removed many dog and cat food from their shelves. It seems it all about what cost the most now. I've been buy my dog and cat food here for years and now they no longer sell it.. the closest bag of dog food even close to what I feed my dogs cost 56.00. not to talk about cat food that went to 34.00 a bag. I foster and Petco seems to be changing to all these high-end foods. Which by the way have been shown to cause issues with cats kidneys and also dogs. These high end food are causing crystals to form in a cats kidneys then forming bladder stones. Let me just say that cats eat strictly protein forget about all of these foods that have vitamins and blueberries and carrots and vegetables in it cats are purely carnivores they do not eat vegetables dogs however will eat vegetables and me so the cause of damage to a dog's kidneys are less than that of a cat. Petco is all about money now, and are pricing themselves out of business. Soon the average person won't be able to afford to shop there. And if you are going to put a Petco in to this specific area of Phoenix and Tempe area you need to remember the population of that area and that not everyone can afford a $50 bag of dog food or a $40 bag of cat food do you are losing tons of Business by doing this bring back the foods that people actually feed their animals you cannot force them to feed them all natural food if they can't afford it this is why Walmart has a lot of business because they know what people buy. I wish Petco can catch up on this because I do like you but soon I cannot afford to shop there because their prices are extremely expensive they even charge $8 more per box of cat litter then Walmart charges.
