When I lived in Hawaii, I took my dog to Petco for grooming. I never had an issue (other than he did not like having his eyebrows trimmed). I took him to two groomers in South Carolina. I never had any issues or reports of bad behavior. I was aware that my dog did not "like" getting his nails trimmed--- fairly common in dogs. What I was SHOCKED to learn is that Petco REFUSED to groom, nail trim, etc my dog. They did not call me to pick him up either. I had to call them and found out in person that my dog was "BAD." I think the groomers here are lazy. If something is not easy--- ie if a dog moves or yelps during a nail trim, they give up and say your dog is bad. I will no longer be shopping at this Petco. I am disgusted at the level of customer service! read more

Great store, great people. Noting against this Petco, but if you got doggie cookies out of the bin and have not used them after a few weeks, throw them out NOW! Our house got invaded by hundreds of pantry moths, all originating from a small bag of doggie cookies from here. Nothing Petco could have done to prevent it, so I'm just warning you to be smarter than me. Moths and weevils hang out on this bulk stuff, so use it fast or toss it. read more

I can not believe they just charged me $80 to groom my dog. She doesn't even have long hair!!!! NEVER AGAIN

I have taken my Great Dane there twice. She is a rescue, kept in a cage at Williamson County kennel. I asked them to please not kennel her and they honored my request. I came to pick her up after bath, and she was just standing among the other dogs getting groomed, on a leash. Thomas was helpful, understanding, and sensitive to her needs. read more

***I want to highly recommend the Pflugerville Petco*** I have a 14 mo old PTSD service dog. We have only been apart for bathing and nail clipping. I hate turning over his leash during these appts. I called this past Saturday for Cooper's appt & was so fortunate to get Jenny (sp) on the phone. I asked if they could estimate how long it would take and that I would be waiting in the store. She assured me they would work quickly and get us back together. Sure enough- they delivered! Ben was his bather. These 2 guys were professional, knowledgeable and friendly to the highest standard. Very poor grooming service! The groomer kept telling me she'd call me when it was time to bring my dog in. She never called, so I finally called. After telling me she was running behind all day, and keeping me waiting, she told me right before the appointment that she didn't have time. She then lied and told me she couldn't fit my dog in for two weeks because she would be out of town. When I went in, she was there, not out of town. All she had to say was 'sorry'. Very rude! Went to PetSmart instead, and they groomed her while I waited, and they were very friendly and accommodating. Would never go to Petco for grooming again. Now for the positive. I have had excellent experience with the aquarium department. They're always helpful, and they suggest products that improve the aquarium. And for the so, so. They don't stock as much as PetSmart. Quantities are limited, and they aren't replenished very often. I often have to drive to Round Rock to PetSmart, even though Petco is right down the street from me. Wish they had a better selection of hamster stuff too! read more

I wound up taking our dog Cubby to Petco here in Pflugerville for a haircut instead of our usual groomer. Cubby was in serious need of a hair cut and I will be traveling later this week so I took the open appointment Petco had today. When we got him back I was in a mild hurry so I did not look him over very well. When I got home, my wife noticed the cut was very uneven. His tail and ears were not combed out and frizzy. The fur around his face was poorly cut. We will be taking him back to his normal groomer to get his cut corrected. Ah well. read more

Cassie is the best! Having 3 dogs, we have used many groomers over the years. My mini poodle came home last week looking so cute, and Cassie exceeded my expectations. She did Lexi's cut exactly as I had conveyed to her. She is a true professional and very friendly as well. read more

The Pflugerville Petco is my favorite place to be!! I'm an animal lover Of all kinds except cats because I'm allergic. I work in the Stonehill shopping center so I am here WEEKLY! I have two Australian Cattle dogs, a puppy and an adult and I am always here buying food, treats, toys, leashes, shampoos, you name it! IF YOU ARE A BARGAIN SHOPPER you would probably love Petco's online prices as opposed to instore, even with shipping I spend less online. When I make my big purchases I save anywhere between $5-$25 at a time, sometimes even more, I scored a crate for 50%. I even signed up for the level one Puppy class with trainer Kayla! Kayla was SUPER sweet! She was so patient with our pup Atari(we're a biter). The class was a lot of fun, it helped us socialize her and learn in distracted environments. However the training space is FAR too small and should have its own room. I paid 1/2 the price because of a deal I found so it was worth the $63 for six classes. They also have AWESOME puppy socializing classes on Saturdays at 2:00 which is helping our puppy learn about new people and new things! This Petco is GREAT! read more

Our Maltipoo was groomed wonderfully today at Petco. They got him in fast and did a great job.

We have 2 cats so I have occasionally bought supplies here. The store is nice and clean and supplied well. My only complaint is the cashier guy that is almost always there. He seems to have a problem with me or that I'm not a "rewards" member- I'm not sure. He doesn't have a good attitude at all. When my son and I came in the other day, I actually thought about leaving when I saw him b/cause I knew he would be rude or do something...I was right. He checked us out - and of course - had his snippy attitude about being a "rewards member" and then laid the receipt down and walked away....he didn't say Thank you or anything- some other employee had walked up while he was checking our supplies and mentioned he needed to help with something- and he stopped, put down our receipt, and walked away...REALLY???!!! This is terrible customer service-I don't know what the deal is with him but if I see him -if I ever decide to purchase there again- I will walk out if he is there. read more

My boys and I went to Best Buy yesterday having an unfortunate experience with Gold fish again we were seeking expert advice on what kind of fish to buy and how to care for them properly. The guys that helped us were very informative and after every question they were thorough and I had several questions and concerns. They did a great job getting us prepared to adopt new fish. I have gone to Petco for many many years in many different places. Up until today, I have never had an issue with this particular Petco. However, at checkout you can see the dogs that are being groomed. And I observed one of the groomers becoming visibly upset with a dog on the table and saying nasty things to the dog. No, she may not have actually struck the dog or did anything that could have harmed the dog semicolon however, I find it alarming that a groomer would treat someone's dog like that in front of an Open Glass. I would really hate to know how she may have handled the dog in the bathing area where you cannot see her with the dog. This dog was clearly nervous and was not acting in any negative manner. He was acting as typical as you would imagine any dog that was held by a leash being cut he was visibly nervous and her attitude I'm sure did not help that. I only wish I knew who the owner of this dog was or that she or he actually sees this. I have used the groomer at a Petco semicolon however, I will never do so in the future knowing that this Behavior goes on and it hasn't been stopped is concerning to me. read more

I go to this store on a regular basis and I always find the staff to be very friendly and helpful. I want new fish and of course the ones I want were not recommended to go with the type of fish I already have. I'm so glad to have gotten the help because I probably wouldn't have any fish at this time. I have also gotten good help and information with the multi cat litter boxes. I find the staff there to know a lot about the products in the store and they are always happy to help. read more

The groomers clearly love the animals and my nervous Boston Terrier loves to go. They are competent, friendly, and professional. I can recommend them with confidence. read more

I highly recommend Petco in Pflugerville. I started a fish tank for the first time in my life and had no idea where to start. A couple of people there were extremely helpful in getting me started and whenever I go in for anything, they are always friendly and helpful. Not everyone knows everything but they go find the right person for the question. I prefer that to someone who pretends to know every answer. They are awesome! I have to be honest though.... I wasn't too thrilled that it was a Petco that opened. I had hoped for a Petsmart because I was used to shopping there. However, they have won me over. read more

Something is seriously off at this location. We normally go to petsmart only. Stopped here for convenience. First the dogs owner/ seller at front door shows no affection to people nor animals. I don't care for him anyway because we are only interested in rescue dogs like apa. Went in and looked for a couple of algae eater. The young guy worked at fish place answered rudely: "not for sale!" ... Ok... Not going back again and yes we saw quite a few dead fish. read more

I come here regularly, and was saddened by the experience I had tonight. Something was wrong with their credit card reader - it seemed to be working fine with debit cards but not credit cards. The girl at the counter wasn't able to get it working so she called over the manager. I didn't get his name, but he was short and had bright orange hair. And a horrible attitude. He was the most impersonal and rude person I've come in contact with in a while. He said he had to call "the guy" to figure out "what to do". He was on hold for a long time and was flippant when I asked for an update. 15 minutes go by. I've got my young child with me and it's nearing her bedtime. I just want to buy cat food. I found cash to pay for more than half of my order, he said he was still going to have to ring my order via credit if he was taken off hold because he needed to find out what was wrong with the system. I told him flat out - not my problem. He can figure out a way to work through his problems without me standing there, and without my credit card. He was just so surly and rude. A shame, really, since I've been a regular customer since they opened and spent a whole lot of money there on our dog and cat. I'm hoping he's just a temporary manager, or that he eventually figures out that being rude with customers doesn't help him career-wise. read more

I have gone to this store many times to buy rosy red minnows for our red ear slider. Every single time I go to the fish section, there is a guy who works there who just does not seem to WANT to be there!! I stood there waiting for minnows and THREE TIMES he looked at me and said NOTHING...finally I had to ask if I could trouble him for minnows...no smile...just says how many, I told him 25...he gets them for me, including some dead ones, and as I try to be as bubbly as possible I say THANK YOU and I got nothing back...no your welcome or anything! This is the fourth time this has happened so I was compelled to write this review! While the rest of the store employees seemed glad to help, even friendly, this guy is in a perpetual BAD MOOD and that is not the type of person who should be in customer service...I am a business owner and customer service and satisfaction is EVERYTHING!!! They need to fire this guy!! I can go to PetsMart, which is a lot closer and a lot cheaper but I keep going back to this store (like an idiot) hoping I don't run into this guy and I always do. read more
