Petco turned my fluffy baby into a patchy, traumatized mess, and I paid for the privilege! I took my dog to the Pflugerville Petco @ Limestone on Saturday, 8/9/25 for grooming, and the results were completely unacceptable. Her haircut was patchy and uneven, with some spots shaved almost down to the skin. Stray scraggly hairs were left behind, and her face framing looked nothing like what I expected or requested. The part that really pissed me off? When we got home, she went straight into her crate and refused to come out for the rest of the night. She normally sleeps in my grandson's room, so this behavior makes me believe she was stressed or even traumatized during the grooming process. Because her coat was cut so short, there's no way to fix it until it grows back. I contacted them and spoke to Brittany the next day to discuss my issues. Brittany suggested a discount on a future service...no thank you, I will not be returning. I believe I should get a full or even a partail, but more than half, refund because the service not only looked bad but clearly impacted my dog emotionally. Pet owners deserve to feel confident their pets are treated kindly and professionally, this experience made me feel the exact opposite. read more

For the life of me I cannot remember everyone's name, however I do remember Greta since she usually cuts my dogs hair. I just want to let all the groomers at this PETCO know how much I appreciate them. I was concerned my dog mochi may have been pregnant. They were all so sweet and told me that if she was possibly pregnant that she could go into labor due to stress. Mochi did not get her grooming due to the concerns. Well a couple of hours after our visit at Petco we came home and for the first time I felt puppies move in my dog's belly. Shortly after that two hours later she gave birth to four boys. One of her boys does have a cleft lip/palate so we will be in to see Dr.Logan soon. These ladies deserve to be commended, neither of them are veterinarians. I went to Petco in Pflugerville this morning to buy crickets. I do this once every two weeks. The employee, who has helped me before, was already working in the area. I asked him for 90 large crickets. I could see a large shipment of both sizes of crickets were sitting on the counter. He told me he didn't have 90 large crickets. I told him we were going out of town and I needed however many he had. he told me he had 30 of them. My grandson, who is four , looked down into the large garbage can container and told me there were so many crickets. I looked at that time, and there were way more than 90 in there. the employee told me I'd have to come back at noon to get all of the crickets I requested. I watch four of my grandkids each each. making multiple trips to retrieve crickets (which were already there) is not ideal. Limestone commercial, Pflugerville, tx location Man what is it about Petco? They have some really nicely laid out stores and then they have some they manage to cram into a little space. This is the worst designed location I have seen yet between Austin and Dallas. You can barely move around without running into people or random things in the aisle. Maggie is a lovely gal who won't let mom trim her nails ‍ I bring her to the grooming salon and they do a fabulous job with her! She hops right up on the table for them now, but when we first started coming and she was still a bit nervous the groomer would have an extra person come stand next to Maggie and help talk to her and keep her calm while her nails were getting buffed. We came in for grooming services (a few times now). The first time we came in we made an apt with a woman who we thought did a great job grooming our Bichon at a different location. Bichons are typically groomed a specific way and can look like a poodle if not groomed correctly. When we arrived we were told the woman we booked wasn't working and someone else would do the grooming. Long story short, she didn't groom him properly and we were very unhappy. We received a survey afterwards and I filled it out honestly. The store manager responded to our concerns and refunded our visit. We returned to give them a second shot and our pup was groomed by Brandis (I believe she is the manager in charge of the grooming services). She knew exactly what we wanted and did a fantastic job! Has anyone else noticed how ridiculously high priced everything is at Petco? I can buy most of the items, besides the actual pets, on line at about 2/3 the cost! The selection is sketchy and things like a simple dog crate costs almost double of what I can get it for on line. What exactly are they offering to warrant these prices? Service... ummm I could not find a soul. Selection? Just can't compete with the selection on line. The pets? Well when we got here most of the pet sections were empty! How do they stay in business? If I could give 0 stars I definitely would. We have been at this location for two years now. I have 3 dogs that I bring monthly, normally to Saskia, who is absolutely wonderful. Unfortunately, she is not available at this time. We have tried two different groomers at this location. Lupe, did well with my Pit Bull/ Alaskan husky mix, who is a rescue and is very hesitant around new people Beciae he was abused. Today I brought in my terrier mix, who is also a rescue that was abused to Cindy. Who was supposed to show up at 8am and did not come in until 8:30am. After showing her the confirmation sent from their system, she continued to argue that the appointment was at 8:30. Then after explaining to her that my dog is a nervous rescue, we foster/adopt a lot of rescues. Cindy tells me with the holiday coming up and so many dogs she doesn't think she can be patient with my dog, but will try her best. That is not someone I want to leave my baby in the hands of. It had taken a long time for him to trust us. I spoke with the manager on duty ,and all she said was " yeah, I'm sorry, I can see in your profile you come alot and prefer Saskia". As is her bland and insincere apology was enough to mitigate the angst and agitation that I am currently experiencing. We will no longer be bringing our dogs here. Which is unfortunate, as I have said they do have some well trained and caring groomers. Grooming Manager confidently gave me inaccurate information. I have some grooming knowledge and usually groom my dogs at home. However, I have a Pom and they shed in the summer and I travel a lot. So typically I take her to get groomed around this time. We have never had an issue at Petco before. Today was a different story. First the groomer came out and talked with me she seemed very knowledgeable. She checked her butt to make sure the hair clumps were not mats. They weren't, but she said her manager had to verify. That's when it all took a turn. The manager took a huge comb grabbed all the hair on her right hind quarter and pulled. Hard. Then said these are mats they don't come out. As soon as she pulled her hair I took the comb from her, you don't treat an animal like that. Then I said said actually if you do it correctly they do comb out and proceeded to comb them out on front of her. She was clearly not happy. She then said she would take care of it by shaving her but to 3/4 of an inch. I said you want to shave a Pom and not scissor cut. She said yes, cutting hair is cutting hair rather you use a razor or scissors. To which I responded I would be taking my dog somewhere else. She is correct cutting it is cutting it regardless, and cutting a double coat dog that short will damage the coat regardless of how you do it. She definitely came across as confident, but someone who is that confident in their wrong answers shouldn't be working with animals. 2 stars because I love the rest of the store! read more

We asked for a simple trim of his BEARD, and I got a dog with no ears. My dog is 7 years old and I have never seen his ears. Saskia, if you had done a simple google search of Maltese, you likely won't find one picture of one without hair on their ears. Then she left all this hair on the top. He looks crazy! I was at Petco on the 8th I believe (need to look at my receipt to be exact) in Pflugerville (19000 Limestone) and witness in the grooming department a groomer who turned out to be the manager. Being really rough on a beautiful white dog that looked like a poodle, found out it was a puppy and a female. Which upset me more that she was a puppy. I was getting a dog tag at the engraving machine which backs to the grooming department window. I watched her the groomer with her face that was really frowned (she did not even notice me), yank the puppy's paws, she never relaxed her face, she never tried to speak to the puppy to calm her (the puppy was obviously stressed and was being further stressed by how she was being treated). I was so disturbed and angered by this I asked for another manager to be summoned so I could report my concern. The groomer had noticed me and when she seen the other manager Craig came to speak to me she came out of the grooming department to see what was transpiring. She immediately started making excuses, I stood my ground and repeated to her what I had shared with the other manager. When I use to take my animals to the groomers I would pay an extra $20 to do the express service and I would wait around for them and watch nearby, close enough so I could see what was going on but also where my babies could not see me. I won't be coming here any more. They nipped my baby !! When I say nip, I meant took a chunk of meat out of my chihuahuas under arm. I scheduled my usual grooming and this time her appointment was unusually long. Her appointment was at 5pm and Petco called me around 7:30/8 o'clock which was unusually long because they normally have her in and out in 30 minutes because she is so small. I get a call and they tell me to come get my baby. When I arrived no one was in the store. The store was very empty maybe four employees. So I waited for my baby at the cash register clearly they can see me. Later a her groomer calls me over to the entry way of Petco. She exclaims that she was sorry it took so long I scratched your dog under her arm. When she says that I go to investigate she throws boujiee in my hands and tends to another dog that comes in. Now it's 8 o clock at night , so why are you attending another dog and you hurt mine. It I was dark and we were by the door so I did not see the scratch she was talking about. She mentioned brining my baby back if she got infected. I thought that was weird to say if it was a scratch. So I went home to investigate more and as soon as I went to pick her up she screamed. Then I saw the deep gash they called a scratch. I immediately contacted customer support and they asked for the pictures below. I do believe they waited until she stopped bleeding to contact me for pick up. When I called customer support they were very caring and they seemed like they would solve my issue or ask how could they resolve the issue. Instead I get a call two days later from the manager at Petco and he nonchalantly tells me that that is not a big deal and he won't be able to assist with her medical bill immediately it will take months. Basically brushing off there mistake. I will never return to this place ever again I would not recommend going there if you care about your furbabies. I am still waiting for a resolution. Words cannot begin to describe the level of frustration I feel after dealing with the grooming department at Stonehill Petco over the last day. We have been loyal customers of this Petco over the last almost 3 years and have taken 3 dogs to be groomed every 6 weeks since fall 2020. The groomers for the most part have been fine-- no complaints there. In fact Thomas groomed my Australian labradoodle, Nash and did a fantastic job. Nash loved Thomas and got along great with him. But here lies the problem. The grooming departments customer service is horrible. If you ever need to call them because their app is acting up, good luck getting through to anyone to check on your dog or schedule a future appointment. Yesterday while I at work, I received a phone call from a "solutions manager" named Autumn that Thomas no longer worked for Petco and that they would be cancelling our grooming appointment in 2 days. Okay that's great! It's not like i had just made his appointment. Saturday appointments are booked out and I had made the appointment about a month ago. And since Nash is very much an alpha male, they wouldn't be able to see him again because Thomas was gone, so they were essentially firing us as customers. Okay that's just great. If you're a "solutions manager", isn't it your job to find a "solution" to the problem? Perhaps do a bit of research and see if there's any other Petco's nearby with male groomers working? So this same location showed one other male working there (Zach) and the round rock location showed a male groomer working there (Joshua) but unfortunately the app has locked Nash out and I am no longer able to schedule him any other appointments with anyone. I also asked if my information could be passed on to Thomas so that perhaps he could still groom the dogs from his new employer. Nope. They don't have any contact information for him. So after spending $120 every visit on Nash and $220 every visit on Joey and Sissy (every 6 weeks), and purchasing dog food here, I guess we will be finding another groomer. And since I got 2 days notice of our appointment being canceled, I'm sure we will be waiting another month to find grooming services. read more

I brought my dog in today to get her nails trimmed and will never support petco again. When I arrived there was a bit of a wait which wasn't a problem. However there was a big pile of piss right next to the swinging door for over 30 minutes. When it came time to bring my dog back I explained to Greta that I needed to walk my lab to the door on leash so she wouldn't try to pull away. Greta replied and said not a problem. Then she took the choke collar leash they use put it around my dog unhooked her leash and started to try and get her to walk. Big surprise my dog wasn't going for that and tried to stay near me. Greta yanked harder and my dog laid down in the piss all over the ground. Greta said "oh you had an accident " to which I replied that's been there for over 30 minutes. I then picked my 90lb dog up and carried her to the door and said "I told you that I needed to walk her to your door for a reason" she replied with "she was pulling away and I had no choice". The reviews on here are very accurate when it comes to the grooming department at petco and you don't want to bring your pets here. This location has the wrong folks doing grooming and they don't care about the animals. I spoke with Craig the manager and he apologized and didn't charge for the nail trim and gave me bathing wipes to clean the piss off of my dog. The absolute worst! A 250lb male stylist claimed my 10-month-old, 9lb, toy poodle tried to bite him. The manager had to assist him with a poorly done cut and shampoo. Then, in front of everyone around the check-in desk and cash register, the manager was very animated and mentioned unrelated past visits to try and belittle me. She said I could no longer book online and needed to call her for future appointments. This is the third horrible service I've had with my new puppy. While I was waiting to drop off my puppy for his appointment, at the counter another customer refused to pay for a bad cut, and the manager dealt with it unprofessionally. I was glad to see the customer stand their ground and not pay for the bad service. Because of this experience with the manager, I have no reason to ever do business with Petco again. Pet Smart is a little further, but at least they are professional. I checked out at 4:33pm on 12/24/2024. The managers performance started right after I checked out. If I could give zero stars I would. Just as previous reviews stated, the grooming department is TRASH! We took our pups in for grooming, dueing the car ride, our older pups leg fell asleep which led her to have a small limp for a second. The grooming department told us that they could not groom her because of this. Even after they saw her walk it off and was just fine. They told us that we had to take her to the vet to make sure she was OK before they were able to groom her. After her seeing the vet, we brought her the following week to her rescheduled appointment and were told that we would need to produce a clearance letter from the vet. Mind you, we were never told this the previous week when we came in. The groomers asked us to wait for a sec while they made sure if they could groom her or not, then came out to take our 2nd dog to get started in his grooming. In the process, they ended up calling the store manager so she could also tell us that we wouldn't be able to get her groomed. We told them to bring our other dog back because if they weren't grooming both, they weren't grooming either of them. Needless to say, we will NOT be returning to this store. I make the drive to Pflugerville despite dozens of closer options, specifically to have Brandis groom my dog. I had two horrible experiences and one very expensive one prior to trying Petco in Great Hills. The first visit was ok, nothing special, but the price was really good. When I went back a second time, Brandis did the grooming but the price was about $10 higher. I asked about it and Brandis reviewed the previous bill and explained that the person who did the grooming had not charged me for the trim I request on my dog's feet. Ok, made sense, I left my dog but when I came back, Brandis told me there was no charge, she had talked to the manager, and today's grooming was done free of charge! I admitted that wasn't my goal, I just wanted to know why the price was different. She even refused a tip, and I was told that was also taken care of. I was pleasantly surprised, to say the least!! Ever since then, I have only taken my dog to Brandis. And now we go see her in Pflugerville. Whatever it takes!! And yes, the grooming department is super busy, but I'll wait as long as necessary for someone as kind and thoughtful as Brandis. She is the grooming manager, and time and again I've seen her go out of her way to make sure that every dog is well taken care of. It would be great if she was able to have a receptionist (dare I say two?), especially on the super busy weekends, and more groomers as they are always racing around to take care of everyone without rushing you. Ok, been debating writing something about this... because I don't know if it's the store or if its Petco as a culture. One week ago I wanted to buy a hamster for my daughter because her hamster passed away. We got a cute teddy bear hamster, but this hamster ended up biting anyone right from the start. All the hamsters wanted to bite. I wanted to know why... I know hamsters, guinea pigs, mice.. they are fun little guys. But I'm convinced it's because Petco keeps several of them in cages while they sell them. These are supposed to be solitary creatures. They will compete and attack each other when they are together in a single cage. Why do I mention this? Because as I continued to look at what this Petco had, I came across the cage where they keep the mice. There were 10 of them in there. The cage was a COMPLETE bloodbath. Blood splatter on the walls of the cage, blood on the window, a big blood puddle on the spinning treadmill, all the mice had blood on them... it was a complete horror scene. I told the manager, to which he went back to the cage and saw the massacre. From the register, I heard the guy say "Whoa Shit!"... I think Petco shouldn't sell any pet rodents at all if they are just going to pile them all into cages for them to battle each other out. You will end up with a hamster that likes to bite, and now I have to try to either rehabilitate him, or get rid of him and try find a nicer one. read more

Do not take your dog to get groomed here! There were about 0 dogs in a tiny room in a bunch of kennels all right on top of each other! All barking and loosing their minds. Four hour appointment because they leave them in a kennel for half the time listening to the echos of dogs freaking out and barking nonstop! They have a new salon manager named Brandice who single handedly ruined our grooming experience. We booked an appointment online like we always do and chose our trusted groomer, Toni. She was always amazing. Always really sweet, listened to my concerns and took care of my baby every single time. She always knew which cut to give him like I liked. Well this time we were not told that it was not going to be Toni until the last minute and it was too late to make changes so we still took him in. Huge mistake. The grooming manager said that she was going to be grooming him, over the phone when I called to confirm his appointment, due to COVID-19. I thought this was ok because she introduced herself as the grooming manager. When we got there, it was someone else whom we didn't know. I don't know what they did to my pup, but 20 minutes after we dropped him off, I get a call from the grooming manager saying "come get your dog, he bit my groomer. " I immediately told her that doesn't sound like my dog and she got very unprofessional and rude so I hung up on her and went to get my baby out of harms way. Obviously, this groomer did something to him that caused my dog to defend himself. My dog does not bite and he certainly would have already bitten Toni if he did bite. So, I got my dog out of there to never return again. They obviously are not the place I trusted them to be and won't be doing business with Petco at all. GROOMING DEPARTMENT IS HORRIBLE! STAY AWAY! They cancelled on me TWICE just a couple hours prior to my large goldendoodles appointment. Each time they were still able to take my 6lb toy poodle at her scheduled time. But I make the appointments weeks out together for a reason, ONE TRIP! They really just don't want to groom a large dog is what it feels like. My goldendoodle is the sweetest thing ever, yes he is 70lbs and may have a few small mats but we pay extra for that or just have them cut them out. I'm flexible with his hair and totally understand he does not like being brushed, I don't want the groomer or him to be stressed out more than absolutely necessary. But the "manager" is rude and very dismissive when cancelling appointments with basically no notice when they require a TWO DAY notice if the client is to cancel. Plus I had always booked WEEKS in advance and my goldendoodle comes every 8 weeks for grooming and every 4 weeks for just a bath for sensitive skin issues. They now have me blocked from scheduling which is basically laughable they think I would ever return to any of their stores! They will never see a dime from me again!
