Just took my (formerly adorable) Havanese puppy to Purr-fect pets after calling them to confirm that they spend a decent time brushing out mats. Her adult coat was coming in, and I needed a skilled groomer that had the tools to get the job done! They told me they were up for the task...then proceeded to shave her bald without my consent. I gave them three specifics: don't cut her hair too short, cut out the brown spots under her eyes, and trim up her tail so it's not so long. They did the opposite of all of these. When I called them to inquire why they did what they did, they made excuses, had no record of the notes that I made (other than not shaving her), and did not apologize until I said I would be reviewing them on Yelp. I understand that sometimes it's necessary to shave a dog. If that is their professional opinion, they need to call the owner and discuss the drastic change with them...especially if I specifically asked to NOT shave her. I would have spent the time brushing her out to avoid this. Additionally, I told them that I've heard of several other dogs in my circle having very sad and fidgety dispositions after being shaved. If shaving was our best option, we should have had the right to schedule a time when we had some extra TLC to give our sweet pup. I told them that I would be in labor with our first child the day of the appointment and that my mother would be bringing in the dog with the specific instructions. I'm coming home from the hospital with a puppy that's going to need a lot of extra cuddles while caring for a new baby...I'm just so incensed by their lack of forethought, professionalism, and compassion for animals (and their owners). I would have gotten far better service from PetSmart. read more

The team at the Georgetown location always do a great job on my fur monsters. They are patient and sweet with all dog personalities, big and small. (Anyone with a Corgi knows what I mean by big personality.) I love the way the dogs look with their scarves on when their baths are done. They make drop off and pick up so easy, too! read more

I called and inquired about the cost to hold my wiener for the weekend as I could not find anyone to do it at the very last minute. Now other places I called hung up on me. Not Purr-Fect Pet! They were able to get my wiener in and at a very reasonable cost. Not only did they get my wiener in but also bathed and did some wienerscaping. Always a great experience here! We have two little ones and they are always looking their best when we take them to Purr-Fect Pets. The facility is great. When you walk in you get to see the pups getting groomed through the glass. The owner is always there to greet you when you walk in. They have our info in the system so that when we call to set up an appointment they already know who we are and all about our dogs- a nice touch. The groomers are all so gentle with the dogs. You can watch them groom when you walk in. I regularly see them back there playing with the dogs and doing the "baby-talk" to get them to relax. The prices are in line with the area and are fair. First time with our two poodle mixes. Never received a call when the appointment ran late, or when our pups were ready. We called when they were an hour late, and then drove there when they were 2 hours late. We found them ready but had never received a call. To be fair, they both look clean and neat. First time here. My pets came back to me generally happy. They cut and trimmed to my specifications. Customer service was very nice. They were able to get my dogs in when other groomers closer in vicinity to me couldn't. When I dropped off and picked up my dogs there was a consistent flow of customers. Our shih tzu puppy spends about 90% of her life on a family member's lap. She also received a clean bill of health (included fecal parasite analysis) after her vet wellness check TWO days before her grooming session at Purrfect Pets. Imagine my surprise when the groomer informed me that I'd be paying a flea dip surcharge of ~20% because our puppy "was flea infested and had worms present." I am not alleging fraud but these circumstances have motivated me to use different groomer. read more

Horrible experience in Round Rock today. Only posting this for the Georgetown location because the owner was at Round Rock and took no responsibility for my dogs swollen, bloody eye. I notified the trauma driving her home. Went back up and was told she was fine when we left. I called 3 min after leaving to ask if they got something in her eye. I couldn't tell until I got home how bad it was. Took pics back up to spare her the trauma of returning and was told they weren't responsible and it was "stress" that caused this. At ER now and they say it's trauma. No refund. No accountability, no apologies and rude. Stay away!!! read more

I called on Friday late morning to see if they were able to fit us into their schedule today. I explained to them that I had a black lab who needed a summer bath and really good brushing due to heavy shedding. We couldn't have asked for a better experience - and this was our dogs 1st time to visit a groomer. They were gentle and the grooming was excellent. Just picked up my cat from a grooming.... Ugh, I think the school for the blind is training to be groomers today... Couple of complaints: uneven groom, looks like he was in a tornado, when I called to make appointment last week I inquired about a full groom versus partial and the person spoke with said they would re-adjust the fee if we only did the belly.... Really ?? I just paid $77 for a partial groom that looks horrible. Kitty will need additional grooming as she did not get the most important areas matt up... When I brought up the grooming fee for the work the manager said there is one price for all cat grooming. I told her this would be my last time and she shrugged , not interested in addressing issue.... Save your money and your pet and keep on driving right past this place, there are other groomers close by with good ratings... read more

Not even worth explanation. Her Round Rock store is much better. Probably because she isn't managing it. Someone else is.

My wife dropped our dogs off and gave very specific instructions to have both of our dogs get a puppy cut, and leave their feathers alone on their legs and tail. Well to my surprise the dogs come back and they have hardly been groomed at all, they look like just they have been washed, and that cost 84 dollars! I took them back and told the groomer that we asked them to do a puppy cut, and when we come back they have indeed given the dogs the correct haircut, but charge me an additional 17 dollars. I will not be coming back to this establishment, doghouse by the square is much cheaper and they can understand simple instructions. read more

Our yorkiepoo and yorkie have been going to Purr-Fect Pets for 6 years and we give them the 5 Star award for customer service, the handling and treating of our pups, the excellent communication and of course the wonderful haircuts they give to our pups! Impressed, my dog doesn't care so much about getting groomed, I have had previous groomer's say he would try to nip at them when they touch his feet or face. Rachel is amazing and will be our forever groomer. I asked how my dog did and she was incredibly positive and said he did nothing they couldn't handle. He looked perfectly groomed when I picked him up and didn't seem as if he had been stressed at all. Our five-month old Miniature Schnauzer was groomed by Charity in July 2016. Because of his puppy behavior I did not think his first real "Schnauzer" cut would be very successful. However, much to my surprise, - he looked absolutely wonderful and his cut was perfect! Everything about our first visit was positive. With ease I made the appointment, Kathy met us at the front desk upon our arrival and then introduced us to our Groomer, Charity, who immediately bonded with our pet. Amazing place, I had been going to Petsmart to get my dog groomed, but they were so expensive. I shopped around and found this place and decided to give it a try. The cost was significantly less and they did a great job. The place is VERY clean. They also sent a real handwritten thank you card in the mail for bringing my dog. Very impressed! read more
