I have only had positive experiences at every Hollywood Feed location I've visited. When I moved…read morefrom Mckinney to Garland, I was glad we still had a HW Feed so close! You are always greeted upon entering and the staff is friendly and readily available for help. I've also taken advantage of curbside pickup and same day delivery. All good experiences! We are definitely Hollywood Feed loyalists in my family!

I like coming to a small pet store, even though the prices are a little bit higher than other…read moreplaces. I usually like the customer service and that they have the kind of kitty litter that I like to get for my cats. However, the last couple of visits have not been great. Things have been the incorrect price and although the last time after a little bit of discussion, the employee that was on duty adjusted the price and realized that it was their mistake that they marked things wrong and did not do the price change like they were supposed to. Today was a different experience. I grabbed the kitty litter from where there was a full stack and it was clearly marked 11.49 for that litter. I ring it up and it comes up 1299. I tell the employee hey this is the wrong price. It's 1149 on the aisle. She comes back and tells me she can't see where it is marked that. I take her over to the aisle and show her the full stack of seven or eight bags of kitty litter with the sign under it. This says 1149. She says oh this says for something else. And I ask OK well as a customer how am I supposed to know that? It says litter 1149 right under the stack of litter that has always been 1149. So she says mistakes happen and doesn't offer an apology or to do anything about it but instead kind of argues with me and gives me attitude. I inform her that that is just not really good customer service and that as a customer, I am purchasing something that's listed as a certain price and that's what I expect it to be and if there is a mistake I understand that but acknowledge the mistake and don't try and blame me as the customer and that I should just be OK with something being $1.50 more than what it's priced at on the aisle. So I ended up having to pay more for it just so I can get the litter and leave because I have to get back to work. It is really ridiculous How bad customer service is now. ..Especially when things are priced wrong. The economy is bad for everyone and it's just unacceptable to treat customers like crap because you feel like they don't have other options or you don't care about your job or whatever it is. There are other options and I can go to other places. I chose to come to this one because I like going to a smaller store, but I will just go to Petsmart.

We have been here twice because they always have availability, and sometimes you can get an appointment on the same day of service! Perhaps there is a reason no one is going here, but when your dog stinks, your high expectations will fly out the window just to restore order to your senses. I recommend booking the first appointment of the day. If you wait until later, you will see your dog travel through a room full of hair clippings. It's quite disgusting. They really should spend some time cleaning up between clients, putting a screen up so customers don't see the mess, and have a tidy path for dogs who have completed their service to be able to travel to the desk without collecting the fur on the floor around them. Yuck! I have a large dog that sheds quite a bit. Usually I do a de-shed or furminator type service at the groomer twice a year at a different groomer and that generally cuts down on the puffs around my house. Unfortunately, the Petco service doesn't seem to be effective at all. I brought my dog home yesterday and puffs of fur were still plucking off of him when I pet him. Had they actually done the service correctly, this would not be happening. I brushed him and was able to pull enough hair off of him to create another "dog". He was also supposed to get trimmed, but he still had grinch feet that I will have to tidy up myself. My appointment was at 9:00 am, and they called to let me know he was ready for pickup at 10:40 am. It only took an hour and a half to wash, dry, brush, and trim him? This is a dog with a double coat of long hair. I don't think so! It seems to me they are skimping on services and it shows in the results. Two other things that I would like for Petco to improve are the payment and tipping process. When booking the appointment online, I'm asked to input my credit card information. However, when picking up my dog, I'm given an invoice and told to go to the front counter of the retail store to pay. I have take out my credit card and swipe it, which begs the question, "Why did I have to input my credit card when booking the appointment online?" I'm asked if I want to pay a tip. Mind you, I haven't seen my dog yet. I have no idea how he looks or if the groomer has done a decent job. Tips used to be given for exceptional service, but now they seem to be expected whether services were delivered or not. My dog seemed happy when he was returned to me. Also, he didn't seem too traumatized when we arrived for the appointment even though he had been bathed here before. That leads me to believe that the staff are kind and gentle with him. Will I come back? Probably. However, I may not get the furminator or haircut because why pay for services when they aren't being delivered as promised? The first groomer I had did a much better job. Perhaps the real trick is to book a specific groomer that will provide the level of service for which I paid.

I came here for the first time during the adoption event in November, the Dallas Animal Services in…read morethe adoption center were waiving the adoption fees for dogs and cats. When I called I was shocked to hear that, but I rushed over! It was only for that weekend due to overcapacity I believe. When arriving, there were a TON of cats and dogs just waiting to be adopted. I thought that the ladies working at the front desk of the center weren't the friendliest. I figured that they would know SOMETHING about the animals I was asking about but all I got was a "read the paper" with an attitude. There was one lady outside which was kind, and helped. I was able to take the cats out and play with them which was helpful, but it would have made the experience so much better to have someone in the adoption center that was a little more friendly and helpful. One thing I was skeptical about was when I came back to the shelter a week later with a friend who was looking for a cat and there were NO cats. The week before, all of the cages were full and some had multiple cats, so I'm wondering where they all went. Hopefully they really were all adopted out during the event. The employees of Petsmart were the friendliest, they helped you get what you really needed for a first adoption, and were honest of the things you really didn't need just yet (Not trying to just sell). If you adopt at Petsmart you will get a free bag of food and coupons that will help you out for the first few meals and whatnot.
