Such a cool store. The two girls behind the counter were so helpful with our questions. My boyfriend found a plant for one of his fish tanks. Saw a couple cute pups behind the counter. As a dog mom I'm always looking for unique protein chews. One of the girls behind the counter let me know it was buy 3 get one free on treats. I found a rabbit ear, tilapia skin, trachea wrapped with gullet and stuffed tremenda. They asked what kind of pup I had and I mentioned her birthday was this summer so they surprised me with several free samples. We can't wait to go back! read more

I bought my mystery snails (so busy and active) and baby lily pads for my Neocaridina shrimp tank! I really appreciated how helpful the staff is in here! What really impressed me is the way that the care for their betas they are housed in beautiful half gallon tanks with live plants. The animal life in this store is well cared for! We came in today to do a daycare assessment on my German Shep/Great Pyrenees mix. He is a Covid dog and hasn't been socialized much. They handled him so well. Justin was Amazing! He was very thorough and knowledgeable. We would definitely recommend. They offer a free assessment with a free full day the same day as the assessment. I also got this cute report card. As I was checking out I found mystery bags for $25 and couldn't help myself. Glad I got the mystery bag, it was full of goodies and included a $5 coupon off clearance. I am very disappointed with Odyssey Pets boarding services. Our dog (Boston Terrier) was put in a group with bigger dogs, attacked, and had a chunk of flesh taken out of his head just above his right eye. When we picked him up, they charged us for the vet bills for his treatment, despite the fact that the incident was due to their negligence and under their care. He was also secluded in a cage by himself afterwards for more than two days. He was shaking and traumatized when we picked him up. On top of all this, they still charged us in full for his boarding. I am very disappointed with Odyssey. We dropped our toy poodle off at 7:30. We were the first clients there. I didn't get the call to pick up my dog until 3.30. 8 hours later. They say drop of is first come first serve, but when I complained... I was told boarders come first???? We also left specific instructions about how we wanted him cut, different than the traditional cut. The instructions were not followed. When I called this to their attention, they pulled his card with notes and it stated "same as normal." I'm really disappointed in Odyssey, and more disappointed that there was no attempt to make it right. read more

Karla is an amazing groomer! I was super nervous as I have an older dog with lots of lumps and bumps, etc. But Karla did an incredible job grooming Hadassah. She looks fabulous, exactly as I hoped, with perfectly trimmed short nails, and she wasn't nervous when I picked her up. I am super impressed with Karla's skill, demeanor, kindness, willingness to work with me, and above all, her sweet love for my doggie! The whole team at Odyssey Pets is over the top helpful and kind! I found Odyssey Pets from their excellent reviews on Yelp. We have struggled to find a consistently good groomer, and I had hoped to get Bailey in for a last minute groom before heading out of town. When I called Odyssey Pets, they were extremely friendly over the phone and got Bailey in on Monday (I called on Friday). They allow you to drop off your pup at 7:30am, which was extremely easy for me and my work schedule. I scheduled Bailey for the full groom and selected a few extras: teeth brushing ($5), nail grinding ($5), and day care ($10). I picked up a very happy puppy who had played with her friends all day and still looked beautiful. Odyssey Pets was extremely friendly and professional. I can't wait to bring Bailey back! read more

**your response is like a politicians. This has zero to do with you taking vaccines for dogs serious and all to do with a lack of communication...you have all the info on our dogs when we book. Showed up today (holiday weekend) and was told one of the dogs had a recent expired shot. Needless to say this ruined a number of things and added a ton of unnecessary stress. The guy at the front said "have a great day" as I was undeniably annoyed...solid customer service on top of it. No phone call before...they have known about our booking for a long time. I was told they "send emails or tell you about it at time of booking." Absolutely didn't say anything at time of booking and emails?! If you get as many garbage emails as me and have a job that fills up your inbox...this is laughable as a solution. There are plenty of other places to go, why risk your holiday weekend plans for a company who clearly doesn't do the proper work upfront to insure the stay is smooth. read more

After shopping here for years I asked employee to recommend a tough toy... I described the breed, now I know any toy can be torn apart and I have found some that lasted a month but told this is made from fire hose. I spent around 240.00 that day purchasing a car seat & much more. Under supervision the toy lasted 1 hour. I saved the toy & decided to d stop my ask for a credit. One hour I am not paying 20.00. I was treated rudely by the manager who stated" we don't make the toys here" and refused to see the toy or exchange. I wrote the owner. Only one name given & the reply was long and rude advising me to not leave my dog alone. Now how would she know this. I contacted who makes the store and dealt with professionally. Hollywood feed. First time using their "services" and wish we hadn't. Boarded our dog several times at our vet in Las Vegas and never had any issue. We always take a blanket with our dog for her comfort and it's always fine. Went to pick our dog up, not only was it just absurdly unorganized, but their "daycare" is a little pen behind the desk with a toddler slide.......dog piss everywhere in it. Finally after waiting like 15 minutes with our dog staring at us, we get her out of the pen, the guy finally retrieves our bag we brought with her blanket and food and toy and it's covered in piss......... Our dog is kennel trained, she's used to being boarded, this place must have been so horrible for our dog. She slept for nearly an entire day and half once we got her to the house. Half wanting to report them to local animal humane to have them investigated. read more

It was my first time to visit this place on a friend's recommendation. It is located next to the Tom Thumb in a corner shopping center. You walk in and it gives you that nostalgic feel of an independent pet store as oppose to chains which nothing against chain pet stores since I like them too. The store has assorted pets for sale from freshwater fishes to saltwater fishes and really my main interest so I overlooked other pets they offer. It seems like they have grooming services like prior reviews stated. I did pass by these 2 cute black kittens which not sure if they were sale or adoption, but one was super playful which stopped me from going to what I came here which was to browse the saltwater inventory. I will just comment on the saltwater and some freshwater stuff from what I saw. They have frag tank of nice side with different price variations which was very reasonably prices for coral frags. I saw some 39.99 colorful acans with Zoas. They had two other frag tanks that housed bigger corals and more pricier ones and the other tank had red bubble anemones which were large but not for sale. In that, you saw a large assortment of clownfishes - harem style. You had basic clowns, black clowns, and even designer ones like picassos for about same as other stores with some variation on pricing. The ultra flower anemones were going for 44.99 which is the cheapest I have seen locally which I saw a maroon and white variation. I did browse the freshwater which I saw those nano shrimps which was cool to see in person. They also carried premium bettas had their own section, which I ended up getting a white opal betta which this was the 1st time I have seen one. It was a had to have it buy and prices on premium bettas vary in ranges from research. The sales people asked me if I needed help and if I did to get them so they were very friendly. While their fish inventory isn't the biggest as oppose to some of its competitors, they have some fair deals you can't pass up and they open early for the early risers like myself. read more

Grooming is great, especially the de-shedding treatment if you have a long haired furry friend! We were amazed with the results. Boarding is great. Large kennels (10x10) and larger for multiple pets. First off, I wish I could give 10 stars! My time with Odyssey pets started about a week before we picked up our new puppy maltipoo. I stopped in to just get some tips on food -- and Mike was so kind and helpful. He took the time to help me weigh out pros and cons of different foods. Once we picked up our puppy about a week ago, her nails were so sharp. So I called and they said to bring her in and they were able to squeeze in a quick nail trim for her. The service here is incredible y'all -- they did it in a few minutes and she did great with it! Next up -- Jolie's first grooming was today! I brought her in at 8am and they all greeted us with warm smiles and Jolie loved it. I am so impressed by the entire staff with how welcomed they made us feel. I was introduced to Gina, and she was going to be the one to give Jolie her first groom. I am absolutely blown away by how she interacted with our puppy and with the job she did! I am so thankful for Odyssey pets and their entire staff. Everyone from the owners, to the groomers, to those working the front desk were so kind and helpful. We've grown to adore the folks at Odyssey Pets over the years. What started as a place to pickup cherry shrimp and make small talk over aquariums (Chase is very knowledgeable) has turned into our go-to pet supply store. We've recently moved very close by and now also take our two dogs here semi regularly for day care. I appreciate they know how to handle finicky huskies, because it definitely takes a special know how to understand how they act and why. I trust the team's advice on goods for our pets and will continue coming here to support the small business! It seems like they do a lot of good research on all the items they carry, so i appreciate that. Follow them on Facebook for special events and online events like shopping with Sherry and some informational web sessions featuring some of their vendors. This is a great place for both grooming and supplies. I have been a customer of Odyssey Pets since its first location a little further South on Preston. I can't say enough about this pet store. The owners are always kind and know my dog. I really feel like they work hard to establish a relationship with both owners and their pets. This is important. I also like the fact that my dog, after 9 years, still gets excited when we pull up. I also keep several fish aquariums and have found that Odyssey Pets is very knowledgeable about my aquatic pets as well. They are always willing to make suggestions, and order various products that I have needed. I really enjoy this location and I know my pets do too. A pet store can not get much better than this. Oh my god. This place used to be great - I referred so many friends here over the past few years. Now I feel obligated to warn them all about how much the quality has changed. I've now had TWO dogs injured here by the new groomer in the past 6 months. One was scalped and bleeding and had no less than 6 warts all but shaved off (which they were warned about and told to go as long as they needed to avoid these). I tried giving them a second chance with my other dog who doesn't have these bumps. This last time my dog (whose nails were admittedly long) was supposed to get a nail *grind*. I asked them to make sure they got his double dew claws and grind them as short as possible to help train the quicks back. This poor dog comes running out, pulling on the leash like I've never seen. They tell me they couldn't grind his nails because he wouldn't let them. ***This dog is a service dog*** He's been handled and groomed all his life to keep him nice when we're out in public. We have *always* been told by the groomers (including the old one here) how sweet, docile, and well behaved he was. I go to check his feet before paying and OH MY GOD. Look at the pictures for yourself. They cut all of his nails to such an EXTREME short length he was BLEEDING (white fur on several feet covered in quite a bit of blood and the dip stuff they use to staunch bleeding). One paw, every single nail was so short that the quick was exposed to the ground. Two of his dew claws showed nothing but pink quick and blood. Clearly the guy a) jumped straight to clipping when he was told to grind and b) didn't even look to see where the quick started (easy to do on his clear nails) - he just chose a random length and whacked at it. To add insult to injury, the groomer tried to hide it. (Just as he didn't say anything about the first dog injured). First he didn't mention anything. Then when I checked and called them out on it, he said it was "only one paw", which was a bald faced LIE. It's ALL OF THEM - two of which were so obvious I only had to crouch to see it because I had to move the hair (which was longer then the nails now). This was entirely INHUMANE. They didn't even try to apologize, they just claimed "accidents happen". Bull! This was pure careless, reckless, NEGLIGENCE. Anyone could have eyeballed his *clear nails* and done a better, less painful job. I only take him to a place because I know they *should* be able to do it quicker and grind his nails smooth. Now that the adrenaline has worn off some, my dog is LIMPING like crazy in PAIN. There's no way he can work like this while he's hurt which means I don't have a service dog. That sucks, but I'm *so much angrier* that they hurt him and TRIED TO COVER IT UP, then LIED ABOUT IT. EDITED TO ADD: since they won't show my response to Sherry below, I'll say it here. She was there while I was complaining. She didn't even try to look at his claws, which she could have. All she is going off of is what her groomer told her. The one who was covering his ass and kept trying to hide, lie, and downplay things while I was there - each time I'd point out where he was lying. Also, I'll reiterate here what I reiterated to her: I specifically said get his *dewclaws* as short as they could and assumed they knew that meant as short as they could without hurting him. I said do it with a grinder, as this is the safest way to train back quicks. I did not tell them to take the rest of the nails as short as they did because, as a service dog who walks a lot while accompanying me, he wears them down on his own. read more

Zero stars is not a available, much less negative stars. I would give ten negative if I could to the groomer. They are overpriced and totally unskilled. 8 Months ago they shaved my Bichon, leaving him looking like a naked mole rat. His tail and ears as naked and pink as a opossum 's. We asked he be trimmed with a #3 blade, nice puppy cut all over. As he has been cut all his 15 years. He was bald and nicked and bleeding all over when given back to me. After very heated conversation with the owner, my money was at least refunded. It took more than 6 months for his hair to grow out to anything less than pathetic. We actually had to buy clothes for him during the winter, even though he is an inside dog., just to keep him warm; not shivering. Look closely at other low reviews and pictures of animals injured here while being groomed.
