This is an out of the way location. You need to want to go here otherwise you'd never know it existed. It's in an old outdoor office complex type of strip center, has some great shade trees! Parking lot is a bit worn down tho, and not a lot of businesses are in these strip center. Inside, there wasn't as much cat items as I'd hoped. Being a cat specific store, we'd anticipated finding some items that aren't normally in the chain stores. Staff was ok, seems they do a lot of grooming which most folks we encountered here were having done for their feisty felines. They had a few off the wall items, but overall, there wasn't much on the shelves that most chain stores don't already have. read more

Unfortunately my Persian cat's hair has not grown back since we were there. Her hair was cut so low you saw pink skin. She was not matted in that area either! Seems her hair follicles are damaged. This place was the closest to my house that sold it (50 min). This place is small but great. They offer cat services as well; but the store front has a great selection of premium cat food brands and raw brands. As well as your normal cat accessories. I was able to pick up more samples of other flavors as well as toppers and kibble. Because my drive is a tad long; I'll probably start ordering cases online from them. After two hours of driving, they said he was upset and they wouldn't groom him. I honestly feel like if you have a new cat - don't keep him in a room with agitated cats and expect him to feel safe. My senior cat was in desperate need of a haircut. He usually gets a cut in April but we were sheltering in place. By the time I felt ok about taking him for his summer cut he was pretty matted. They did a great job cleaning him up and taking care of him in general. He looks so cute! He also came home happy as can be - he's usually kind of mad when he gets home from grooming but not this time. I also love that it's a cat store - no smell of dogs or barking to worry him. We have been going to Cat Connection for two years now. They recently moved, so heads up. The new location as to today doesn't have a sign so we were terribly lost. We called and the individual who answered the phone placed us on a 5 minute hold. Once she resumed the call, we were informed that if we didn't arrive in 15 mins we would be cancelled with a fee. After chasing our cat around a three story townhome for 30 minutes to place her in a carrier, the statement was rather off putting and to top matters off, I asked if they could trip the long hair on her stomach, which has been done before and the response was "we don't normally do that". The charge for the grooming will probably be well over $120 and then you add a tip, a few toys, you're walking out with a wallet missing about $180.00. read more

The cat cafe was just adorable, but I somehow felt that the little felines did not feel very open to a slew of visitors all at once. They've been on the clock since 9am and I showed up around 2 hours later and the cats were pretty purred out. I feel a slight guilt for going to see their furry faces since they just wanted sleep. Poor babies. So my first cat cafe experience was alright. But I wouldn't mind for them to have a lot of cat cafes opening at once, to distribute the crowds from tiring out the cats. But the store itself was very clean, tidy, and organized. It has such whimsicle cat related things, from fuzzy collars to cat toys galore. This was my first time having our 6 year old medium/long-haired cat professionally groomed (i know, I know). From the beginning, everyone was pleasant on the phone and answered all of my questions and lived by the old rule of thumb: under promise, over deliver. They did just that. Cats are cats and I'm not sure Penelope is pumped up to go back (but she will), but the groomers were very honest with what she didn't like. She's rather vocal so she'll let you know, but she isn't aggressive in the least. I took in a little rag-a-muffin and got back a svelte beauty. She's currently laid out letting her canine and feline siblings admire her, and not hiding, so I don't think it was traumatic for her at all. She's our little beauty queen. Please note: I personally find it nice to tip but this isn't an option when paying with a card (I didn't know that), so if you're comfortable tipping, bring cash for your groomer. read more

These amazing people saved my cats life! My 16 year old orange Tabby Chubby Chubby was no longer able to keep up with his grooming nor was I due to his Kidney failure. His fur was matted up all over his body and I couldn't see him living that way much longer. I had thought about having him shaved but wasn't sure anyone would be willing to do that kind of work. I also didn't expect my cat could live through the stress of traveling to a groomer and the shaving itself. I had to take the chance and try to find help. This popped up on yelp and they answered the phone immediately. They were great on the phone and didn't promise they could work on my cat if he was too thin but that they would try. When I dropped off Chubs I was extremely emotional but they were very professional and I did not feel judged for the poor condition my cat was in. I left him there with the expectation that I would get a quick phone call telling me they couldn't do it but to my surprise they called 4 hours later and said he was ready. I picked him up and couldn't believe my eyes. He was unlike anything I had ever seen! And baby lion! He was Beautiful! I wish I had done it sooner! I don't know how they pulled it off but everything was neatly shaved except his head and feet and the tip If his tail! It was worth every penny. He is aim much more affectionate and fun the pet! DO NOT take your cat to Cat Connection. I have never written a review but am compelled. My cat was not fed for days even though I called each day and checked on her and left food and extra topping for the food and spoke to the cat tech and owner on separate days neither of them followed the instruction given, as I noticed all packets I brought were unopened. I was told they will not call the cat owner if the cat has not eaten unless its after 48 hours. However... again, I spoke to them and they still didn't take the steps I asked and I only found out my cat hadn't eaten upon picking her up and she had lost weight. Also, I noticed when I arrived the front desk worker was not friendly, now Irealize this place is just not up to par. This was not my first boarding experience but definitely my last at Cat Connection. DO NOT leave your cat here! read more

WASTE OF TIME. Don't even waste getting on the toll way to come here. My cat has been fully shaved at least 10 times in various cat salons throughout Mississippi and Florida (without medication; with and without me present). I brought her here twice and they said they couldn't do it because she was too mean. After the first visit, I was irritated but gave them the benefit of the doubt. After the second visit and after I had made a special visit to the vet for medication per their request (because, remember, she hasn't needed medication at other salons), I was very irritated that they couldn't deliver the cut. I take my cat to the vet and they always give her an excellent report card. In addition, your customers are CATS. Cats aren't the nicest animals ever. Even if she was mean, learn how to handle a hiss, swipe, scratch or two. That's your job. Overall, cute interior but amateurs working here. I've had two good experiences getting my cat groomed here -- the end result was fantastic. On the other hand, I had a particularly negative experience with a cashier recently. While dropping off my cat, I made sure to update our contact number from my wife's (who was on vacation) to my own. As the day progressed, I received no call from Cat Connection. I received a message from my wife around 4:45 PM that our cat was ready. Confused, I left immediately. A few minutes later, right as I am in the parking lot in front of Cat Connection, I received a call in a very accusatory and sardonic tone of voice claiming "all kinds of numbers had been called" and "if I don't get there immediately I'm going to have to pay for boarding." Frustrated, I open my call log to reveal not a single call during the day. When I walked in the store, no one was at the front . A few minutes later, a woman rushes into the room, makes no eye contact, and is muttering under her breath that "she will be with you shortly." After storming out, I waited with my arms crossed for a few minutes. That woman stormed back in, still muttering, and left again. Eventually, the boarder came in from the other room and was very sweet, and took care of the situation promptly. I left a gratuity for the groomer and requested a card to call the manager back. Today, I left a message and received a prompt response from Erin. Right off the bat, she opened by calling my arrival the previous day a "performance," setting an awkward tone for the rest of the conversation. After discussing the events, she doubled down on the cashier's behavior and repeated again that "it was all on video" (great, and?) This really left a bad taste in my mouth, so my wife and I will be utilizing the services of other groomers in the future. (Later on, my wife indicated she had received a call at 2:45 PM, so another call had indeed been made. On the other hand, "Erin" confirmed that my wife's number had been crossed out in the registration paper that was done in the morning.) read more

They contacted our vet to get the paperwork for our new kitten and gave them rainbow soft paws for pride. I have to say I really thought this place was awesome when i had Jazzy Boy stay there previously for Thanks Giving in 2009. I was happily given status calls on his progress and felt that they actually cared about the animals there. This time around 12/22 - 12/29/10 It started with my initial call to get status on his stay there had he been eating, playing, a good boy etc.... I never received a call back I called 2x. Upon returning I spoke with Jay the owner who i have no respect for at this point. Jazzy boy came home with a very deep cut and missing hair as he must have been rubbing on something in his cage. Had they called and advised me of this I tell you honesty is the best policy and I would have not minded and understood if they had been forth wright and notified me of his injury. However when confronted with the situation i was told nothing was noticed even though an inch of missing hair and the cut that was still bleeding - a dead give away to negligence on their part. I understand that they can not control if a pet hurts themselves but the manner how this was handled is unacceptable.... read more

This is the only place I've seen that does only cat hotel boarding, which is great because all of the staff are experts in cat care. Everyone who I've met there has a lot of experience with caring, feeding, grooming and understanding cats. I got my cat here during the April Dallas Cat Cafe, which is an event they hold once a month to build awareness to different groups that have cats for adoption. The events are nice because not only do they offer time to get to know the cats before adopting them, but also the staff provides free pastries, coffee, tea and other refreshments (hence the 'cafe'). My cat is a sweetheart and I definitely would trust only the staff here to take care of her while I'm away on vacation. The store also offers a wide variety of foods, treats, toys and other supplies that you won't be able to find at normal pets stores. I come here to get Weruva wet food for my cat. My cat also loves the rabbit fur toys they sell here. If you're a cat lover, have furbabies or are thinking about adopting, come here for the Cat Cafe. I would highly recommend cat connection for boarding. Cat connection offers a daily journal documenting food, bathroom use, and play time. You can even call and ask about your cats daily activity. Everyone we met seemed to love cats and really care about all the cats boarding. Blake was scheduled to stay for 2 weeks, we had an unexpected emergency and called last minute to keep Blake boarded for an additional week. They accommodated the third week with no problem! When Blake returned home he was happy and heslthy, you wouldn't have been able to guess he was boarded for 3 weeks! We will definitely be back! Thank you cat connection! read more
