I have to start by saying that my fur baby is scared to death of loud noises, especially the industrial dryers that most groomers use nowadays. I get it- they dry hair quickly, but mine is just super sensitive to them. A few weeks ago, I reached out to Furry Tails via email and explained my dog's fears. The gentleman (I believe his name is Jake) quickly responded and assured me that he understood and that he could offer a kennel dryer. I took her in today for her grooming appointment. Of course, she immediately put on her brakes (locked her legs) and I had to coax her into the salon. Thankfully, Jake was waiting at the counter. He remembered Verda Belle's fears and did his best to become friends with her by talking softly to her and offering a treat. Of course, she was making me feel guilty, but I also could see she would be in good hands. She was there about 2.5 hours since it took longer to dry her. He called when she was ready and when I arrived, he assured me that she actually tolerated it all well. Whew! She looks amazing! He groomed her as I had requested and she smelled great. I am so dissatisfied with the quality of service that my two maltipoos received. Our family has been going to furry tails for over 6 years now, about the age of our first dog. They were our first dog grooming service ever since, but as time went on, this past year, the service quality progressively got worse. Not only have they mistreated my 2 maltipoos by cutting their ears while giving them a haircut, they also don't know how to give the correct services. We asked for a hair cut on both dogs, and our older dog was left looking like a chihuahua. I'm quite disappointed with how progressively worse the services here have gotten over the years. This is the second time our pup has stayed at Furry Tails - first time for day boarding and this second time she stayed almost a whole week with no issues - in fact she was super excited to go with them she didn't even say good bye, and when we picked her up she seemed just like her usual silly self. The facility is always clean when we've visited, and they've been very transparent about pricing - even when we've added grooming to my pup's stays. Guys- This place is GREAT. I have a 5 month old standard poodle. It was finally time for his first "poodle cut" and I was terrified to bring him anywhere. I just moved to Dallas 4 months ago and had no where to start, so I read Yelp reviews and that's how I found Furry Tails. I set an appointment for the exact date and time I wanted and dropped him off at 8:45 am. The lady at the front desk was so nice. She made sure to go through everything with me and ask exactly how I wanted him cut. When we picked him up 5 hours later, I was nervous! But as soon as I saw him- I knew I found Saint's forever groomer. HE IS PERFECT. Every single thing I asked they did, beautifully. His behavior is normal, too. We have had very positive experiences here with our two Australian Shepards. Typically, my oldest dog (6.5) is very skiddish of the groomers due to a bad past experience. However, here he loves it, doesn't shake and isn't afraid to walk right in. We have been using them for about 2 years and they always do a great job. Our dogs come out clean, happy & looking fresh! I used to be super consistent with coming here for my dog grooming. They were good and the pricing wasn't bad that I would make the drive to get my dog groom here. Well today when I got the text she was ready to be picked up, I drove from home to get her which is about 25 mins. When I arrived the front person said the groomer said they didn't realize her tail was matted and that it would take another 30mins. So from the time I drove from home to here she still wasnt ready. I'm so confused because this whole time they were grooming they missed her tail? Even after I said I don't live near here to be waiting 30 minutes, the front guy said he'll be sure to text me when she's ready. Like huh??? Wasn't that the purpose of the first text you had sent telling me she's READY. I've never had this issue with them letting me know when she's ready for pick up. This is the last time I'll get her groom here. The inconvenience of having to wait extra even after getting a text letting me know she's ready for pick up. This isn't even waiting for a 15-20 mins . The wait took over an hour!!! over an HOUR from the time they sent the text she was ready from when she was REALLY ready. read more

I wish it hadn't taken us so long to find Furry Tails but I'm so happy we eventually did. I feel so comfortable dropping my pup off, knowing she will be cared for and be groomed the way her breed should be. The dogs are not locked in crates or cages. Some customers are way more detail oriented than others, some employees will never be as passionate about a business as their bosses are, but all I know is that details and management matter and we truly appreciate the new complimentary handkerchiefs you've started to adorn our furbabies with and although it was hard to make you take our cash tip, we thank you so much for the handful of treats and the thorough check out service we got. Soo is the best groomer in the dfw area in my opinion. We've been to many salons with groomers that received great reviews but she is truly the best and you can tell she absolutely treasures each and every dog. As a picky doodle owner, it's hard to come across someone that can properly groom your dog without making them look like a poodle. She will also get your dog in and out in about 3 hours which is a record. I hate taking my dog to a place that takes more than 5 hours.... We used to go to her in Carollton but stopped going after we heard she left and was opening up her new shop. read more

I'm not overall in love with my babies first haircut. Before going in I had called and I asked what I should bring so those were the rabies record and if I wanted to bring in photos to show the groomer. I recommend doing so. My Pomeranian had never had a haircut because they recommended not to do so till about 8 months so his hair was quite long. I didn't want too much taken off tho just a little and to get rounded out. Unfortunately his hair cut came out very very choppy. I understand it was his first haircut so he might not have stayed still but he is very good with other people that handle him so I'm trying to understand why the hair is very uneven so I'm not sure if he was moving or if they just did a sloppy/ careless job. Took our 80lb boy here for his first grooming as far as we know! He came in super dirty and left probably about 5 lbs lighter! Let's start with quality. We got the de-shedding treatment and this dog came back BRAND NEW. I'm talking shiny, perfectly executed nails, and they even express anal glands! The staff? SO friendly! I only met two of the employees but they were both very pleasant and encouraging, as I was nervous leaving the dog for the first time. They also can answer questions and schedule appointments via text, which is so convenient! They also did a great job of handling our boy because he came in very nervous, but left with tail wagging and smile on his face! NOW. Let's talk pricing. I looked at several groomers in the area. For an 80lb dog, every single place was $85 and some didn't include nail trimming. I was SO impressed that I was able to get our boy the quality of a completely thorough grooming for a fraction of the cost (even with tax and tip)! They gave me a tour of the whole facility so I got to see where my pup would be staying. I'm extremely dissatisfied at how my beautiful golden doodle was treated at Furry Tails. I explained that I did not want him to be trimmed like a poodle. We wanted a full face and teddy bear cut. Our Remy came out looking shaved like a poodle. They apologized and promised to get his face right the next time. Took him in for a second time on Thursday. My baby was shaved all over this time.! His face and coat were uneven. He had patches of hair missing from his chest, back leg, and his ears and bridge of his nose were all cut up . Now two days later his ears are leaking and he has a major ear infection! I'm so pissed they hurt my baby like this. They refunded our money and offered a complimentary 3rd cut. But, I would not let them near my puppy with a 10 foot pole. Definitely not worth the $80 or a free cut. Shame on you Furry Tails! read more

I would give 5 stars because I have loved this place for years both my dogs were going here! I moved an hour away but still used them occasionally would still being my dog for boarding. My dog has stayed here several times for longer than 2 days but for some reason I just don't feel that she was given proper care this time around. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if I will bring her back. There was no communication this time during her stay and she was left in the suite I think too long with out playtime causing her to tear all her skin off around her mouth and a wire looking cut on top her nose. The grooming here is amazing and I can't take away from how great they took care of grooming when I needed it but as far as boarding I'm not comfortable with it anymore. read more

I'm not sure if they got new groomers or what, but we will never go back. We had been going for over 1.5 years, and the first 4-5 visits everything always turned out amazing. However, the last 3 times have been terrible, and this last time was the last straw. I truly have never seen a "hack job" on a dog, but my poor golden doodle has a ton of uneven shaved spots, a bunch on her legs, armpits, and chest that are down to her bare skin. And on top of that, they nicked her private area to the point where she can't take one step without wincing and trying to lick herself. There also is no communication between the people in the front and the back. Our very first problem was when our dogs tail was not even and we had asked the next 2 times for that to be fixed, and it never was. If you're considering this place, I would highly think about if you want your dog to come out looking bad and in pain. read more

I was nervous about taking my baby here at first because of their lack of reviews. Clearly they just opened. I was thrilled with our experience. They got me in same day within two hours of my call and had her out within 3 hours (and she was a mess with lots of mats from swimming).
