Great little pet supply store with great customer service. I think the staff is friendly, helpful and go out of their way to help you with what you need. I mostly use this store for fish supplies & help with my fresh water tank. They have plenty of dog cat bird & other pet supplies too. They even carry local made items for pets which I like that they support the community. Doggy day care & boarding can be found here too. I took away one star only because they are a bit pricey, not so much on pet food but other items are usually a little higher that giant stores but I don't mind cause I like the attitude & people here. read more

They also offer grooming and daycare services, though I have not used those. I've been going to Odyssey Pets for a few years now and I love this excellent family owned small business! They have a great selection of dog, cat, fish, and other small animal products, and the staff are very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Everyone there really works hard to go above and beyond to help you and your pet! I also think it is great to see how involved the owners are, and how much they care for their business, customers, staff, and most of all the pets that come in! As for the services they provide - my dog LOVES going to little dog daycare, and he gets very excited when we start pulling into the parking lot! The groomers are fantastic there as well. This year they have added some very fun new Facebook live events and interviews featuring different representatives of companies of products they carry - which I think is very cool and I learn a lot by watching them! The name caught my eye so I made a b-line for it before I left the lot after getting lunch at super chix with my boyfriend. The selection is generous in aquascaping, saltwater, and dog and cat stuff. Knowledgeable friendly staff. Best quality I noticed, (however, malfunctioning at the time) being the cycling system for the beta cups. We've used them to board our pup a couple times now and I can't recommend them enough! I really like that they don't just kennel the dogs all day, only for feeding/sleeping. They always tell me my dog had a good time when I pick him up! I like that it's not huge so each dog gets enough attention. And good socializing with the other dogs. I give this place two stars because every time I've been in, I was promptly greeted by the staff and always asked if I needed help, particularly from a young guy that works there (mid-20s with brown hair). My last purchase there was a deer antler chew for my dog, which the young guy told me if my dog didn't like it, I could bring it back. So I bought with confidence. We tried out the deer antler for a week, my dog would quickly lose interest in it after a minute or two. I decided I would exchange it for a different chew. I went in today to exchange it and the girl at the counter was very rude to me. She kept pointing out that it's been chewed on. Well, how else were we to know if he liked it or not unless he chewed it? I gave it a week to see if he would grow to like it. He didn't. Their policy is if your pet doesn't like it, they'll take it back. I don't understand why she had to keep harassing me and interrogating me about exchanging it? It was so frustrating trying to explain that my dog didn't like it. She did exchange it for me, so I don't know why she felt the need to harass me about it. Total waste of my time. I only go to this pet store because it's next to Bank of America and Tom Thumb, so I drop in to get things for convenience. After my unpleasant experience trying to return something today, I will just stick with Hollywood Feed and Pets Supplies Plus where I've never been questioned for returning anything. In fact, they encourage returning things my dog doesn't like or doesn't agree with -- no questions asked, no snarky comments. read more

I'm probably this store's biggest fan. I have two fur babies who are treated like royalty and absolutely love to come here. Every time we walk in, someone is always there to greet us and ask if they can help with something. I've purchased a variety of things from flea and tick spray to their favorite dog food, Nulo and am always very pleased with the products. They have a motto at the store that everything they sell is a product they would purchase for their own pets. We also get our dogs groomed here. I have a large labradoodle who always looks so handsome when they're finished with him. Their prices are fair and I can tell that a lot of effort was put into his grooming appointment! We haven't had the time to take our youngest goldendoodle yet but I know they'll treat her just as well as they've treated Watson! Another perk about the store that I love is how friendly the staff is. I've always been asked if they can help take out the 25lb bag of food to my car since I have my two dogs with me (which is such a blessing, not really sure how I would manage to do that myself!). Love! As some of you know - Dupree (my dog) is probably the most spoiled chihuahua this side of Beverly hills. I stopped into Odyssey after a 2 punch Tuesday lunch at La Hacienda across the parking lot to see what they stock for treats and food and this place is great! They have a lot of my picky little eaters favorite treats and foods (I didn't do a full search but everything Dupree eats is holistic and super healthy and they had alot of what he eats in stock so I'm presuming most if not all of their products are holistic and/or human grade.) The staff on site was really knowledgeable too - which you won't usually find at one of the big box/chain stores. If you are interested in pursuing a healthier diet for your 4 legged friend I would definitely send you here to talk to them about your pet. I'm sure they will be very helpful. If ever I need delicious noms for Dupree (and I can't get to the pet store that gives me a discount for being family since it's not in DFW) then I will definitely be going here. read more

She has several cuts, and this is get groin area, which is driving her up the wall, it must sting and itch. Their excuse is that she moves around a lot. Well, yeah, she's only a year old! We were looking for dog treats that are NOT made in China at another pet store. We ended up going to Odyssey Pets on the recommendation from an employee at that pet store that will remain nameless. She said that Odyssey Pets only carries high quality products and none of them are from China. I want to thank that person. We stopped by and ended up speaking to one of the owners, Mike. He is very informative and welcoming. He even gave us a tour of the boarding facility. If you live in the area, heck, if you don't live in the area, go to Odyssey Pets. Their prices are reasonable, the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly, you will have a good time shopping for food, treats, toys and you can even have a spa day for your fur baby with their groomers. Almost forgot, if you are into fish, they specialize in aquariums. Check out the really cool television aquarium. They are located in the Kroger shopping center at the corner of Campbell and Preston. Great place for many reasons. First, from time to time Rowlett Animal Rescue brings their dogs to the store. It's great, cause the store provides its facilities to help rescue some pups, which is how we got our dog. The day we got her, and the times we came back, the staff were very friendly and helpful. It's our first dog, and perhaps we have a good deal of silly questions, but every time we get a reasonable explanation and advise on how to deal with the situation. That being said, we did not feel that we are being up-sold on stuff that we do not need, in fact on a few occasions when we thought to buy something, store staff explained to us that our problem may in fact be temporary and there may be a simpler and less complicated/costly solution. Don't be turned off by the look of their website, it may not up to the current interwebz infinity.0 standards but in a way it portrays the nature of this store. It's a family type of place where people love pets, both theirs, and yours (or at least that is the feeling i get there). It has a lot of useful information and tips. They have a lot of healthier foods, and treats in stock and that is great. We have hard time finding such a selection elsewhere. Also staff are more than willing to help you improve your pet's diet, and find the food that best fits your needs. The place also offers grooming. and once again (much like the rest of the store) for a price similar to big chains you get a lot of personal care and attention. In fact, when we were leaving they gave us tips on what we should ask to be done to our dog, if we were to take her groomed elsewhere in the future. read more

They make you feel like your baby is the cutest and best ever. They, too, are my go-to experts on food, treats, behavior.... Everything. On a very personal note, this entire crew has been with me through the loss of two Maltese angels. When my heart was so heavy I thought it would break, I drove my 12 year old Max up to the shop. I was trying to make the decision as to whether it was "time". He had horrible cancer and was unable to walk. Mike , the owner, came out to my car and spent 15 minutes loving on Max and listening to me sob. He said, "Mom, today is not the day. Max will let you know when it's time". I will NEVER EVER forget that day. Ever. And when it WAS finally time, I took Max up there and let him say his good-byes.... His groomer kissed him bye, too. And the same scenario happened when my next baby had to go to heaven... I still have the sweet card that was signed by the entire staff in memory of Beau. Friends, you can look all over the world and not find a better place OR better people to meet your pets needs. On a very happy note, I got a new baby last May. First stop to get ready? OP!! Maddie helped me pick out the new tiny collar, his name charm, leash, toys as though if was for a human baby. And the first place I took my little tiny pup was to see his new friends at Odyssey!! Great pet store with high quality products and a large selection. More expensive than Petsmart or Petco but it is worth it. They have cat, dog, small reptiles, and aquarium supplies. We came here to browse for our three dogs (18 yo, 2 yo, and ~5 yo) because of all the positive reviews. It was like dog supply heaven. I've never seen such a large selection of reasonably priced dog collars and leashes! There were a lot of toys I've never seen before, online or in store. Our dogs have already been through a lot of toys and I can tell these will last a while. Also came upon a decent selection of bones and bully sticks. For food, we picked up some banana chips made with only coconut oil + banana. I'm very picky about what my dogs eat so I was pleased to find great brands such as Fromm and Orijen. Also picked up some Zoic and Acana for my dogs to try out, so far they love the Zoic turkey and chicken food. They even picked it out from their old Wellness food, which has never happened before. The dogs also love the dogbreath brand dental treats and fruitables bio active fresh mouth treats. I would much rather they have these than Dentastix. My Maltese doesn't even usually eat dental treats but gobbled these up. Other items I saw were: dog stairs, carriers, beds, aquarium- jelly fish, a variety of anemone, sharks, and other fish. All in all, we really loved this place and will definitely be coming back! I could've spent all day in here if I didn't have to go to work. Also, the staff are super nice and friendly without being overbearing. The dogs at daycare seemed happy and were very frequently taken out. Groomed dogs looked A+. I only wish they were closer to me so I could send my pup to day camp and had more clothing. read more

We had taken our dogs to Odyssey for 10 years for baths, trims, and nails, however the last three times the trims were beyond terrible. They were not trimming the long-haired dog at all but we were still being charged and paid for it. The other dog they did exactly the opposite of what we told them not to do. The final time we went there, I told them I had been really unhappy with the trims the two times before that. Someone came from the back and asked how we wanted them trimmed. When we picked them up, the long-haired one looked like a goat. She had been only partially trimmed, and they simply did not trim some of what I had requested. She looked horrible. She goes to weekly classes and she trials, and I have been so embarrassed by how raggedy she has looked these last several months as they have not been trimming her. With the other dog, the final time they used a clipper on him. They have never asked and we have never given permission for them to use a clipper on our dogs. It beyond erkes me that we were paying for trimming that was never done, and my embarrassment at how my dogs looked. read more

Amazing store and people! I've been bringing my chihuahua mix here 5yrs this May for daycare, boarding and grooming. Every Halloween Odyssey hosts an event with giveaways, a photo booth, auction and tons of other pet lovers (also-it's FREE ). A few years ago I met my newest pup at this event thru Street Dog Project Rescue. As soon as her adoption was approved, she spent a few months in Brians training class and free pack walks to get acclimated to life off the streets. I'm so happy to have found this safe space for my pups to stay during my travels and to have added an amazing addition to my fur family. Odyssey is truly a second home for them. Excellent customer service. Everyone is so helpful and friendly. Gina, my NEW groomer for my old english sheepdog, was GREAT !! I highly recommend her to anyone and to anyone with a dog that has special needs. My dog went yesterday to be groomed after having a bad experience with his mobile groomer of 5 years. I expressed my concerns when I made the appointment and he did great with Gina. He followed her back to the salon without any hesitation. She called me with an update after one hour as to when he would be ready. She did great with the EXPRESS GROOM. My dog suffers from being a rescue dog that was abused, is on medication for anxiety and for arthritis. He looks great ! He came out of the place not stressed out and so HAPPY. THANK YOU GINA.
