I've been here a few times, and I must say as someone who is missing Iranian food 24/7 this is the place to go! While you're ordering they give you hot bread, hummus, oil, mint, butter, & onions for appetizers. Everything is reasonably priced & their portions are HUGE which is awesome. I always come here with a big group so they're able to hold a lot of people, awesome seating arrangements & the photographs on the wall make me miss Iran. The staff is amazing. I am surprised this place does not have better reviews... First time I have been here, I came with a couple of Persian friends. They ordered a bunch of appetizers and a soup. They suggested we order Sultani (the right choice for sure). A few things that I would not know if not for my friends: 1. The rice seems a little dry but they bring butter to the table and apparently, you should melt some to your rice. Makes a huge difference. 2. The greens and the onions are meant to be eaten with the meat and they emphasize the taste of the meat. 3. There is another salad in the appetizers menu (with cucumbers), it is pretty good. (i.e. çoban salatası) 4. You can order your meal to have half salad and half rice, I thought this should be default way to serve but you need to ask explicitly. 5. You should get the tea at the end of the huge meal to continue enjoying the dinner. I like this restaurant the food is tasty and service is ok for an eastern restaurant. read more

I will start my review by saying the management changed. I went there in 2015 and it was a lovely place (lovely food and nice décor) but it smelled like rotten food, it was HORRIBLE and hard to enjoy the food with such a smell. I stayed away from it until I visited again in June of 2019 and I met the new owner who was nice enough to change our table even though it was Ramadan (where all the Muslim customers will come in at the same time) because he was remodeling the inside room and it was just a plain white wall. I had asked him (not knowing he is the owner) to switch tables because the area was depressing, he smiled and led us to the well-lit outside area. He checked on me later and asked if I was feeling better. The food was top notch and the prices were high average (compared to other middle-eastern restaurants) which is fine given the portion size. Having eaten at Perspolis twice a week since they resumed ownership of the previous Caspian beginning Jan of 2012 I've come to a few conclusions. Conclusion A.) The food is INCREDIBLE Conclusion B.) The food is incredible. Conclusion C.) .....insert previous conclusion here. I cook Persian food for my house on a regular basis as my spouse is Persian and he is always comparing any Persian meal to how his mother and Grandmother Aziz made it. This is the ONLY time he has found that quality outside of the state of California. And we have been to them all I assure you. Also the people are wonderful and attentive, always remembering a face. They greet me every time I walk in. Considering the outstanding quality of food, the menu is priced below reasonable. !!! Want to see authentic representations of Persian Art? The stews here are so good (had the okra stew with beef) and the proprietors are nice. They hosted a meetup for us that was super great. Someone else was complaining about the rice being bland, but honestly unless you're eating the rice by itself it doesn't really matter -- the stews etc. are seasoned enough on their own. Also, there aren't a ton of persian options around Seattle. So this place gets a 5/5 for me. read more

Words can't describe how much I love this place!!!! Whenever my Persian friend can, I make her take me here! I starve myself purposefully to be able to eat one of each thing I love (which is everything I've tried so far)! All of their meats are always seasoned well and juicy. Make sure to get one of the yoghurt sauces to dip your kebabs in and don't miss out on the cheese plate! After you are totally stuffed, make sure to get a black tea with sugar cubes. I ate here the day after I moved to Seattle and it has definitely set the bar high for other restaurants. I ordered the Mirza Ghasemi appetizer, the Vaziri entree, and the saffron ice cream. The appetizer was flavorful and paired nicely with the bread. The Vaziri was so incredible I can hardly put it into words. The koobideh was seasoned perfectly and was savory, flavorful, and juicy. The chicken was cooked to perfection, and required no knife to be cut easily. The flavor was one of the best I've had in my life. Paired with the rice, half salad, and tomato, I could not get enough of the large portions they provided, well worth the price of the food. The ice cream was delicious, unlike anything I've ever tasted before, but delicious. It was a light, almost floral ice cream that cleansed my palate after the meal. If you like Persian tea as much as I do, then unlimited refills on tea is a perk too. I'm vegetarian and my favorites are the Loobia Polo and Khoresht Bamieh. The new owners of this restaurant are a hard working and honest people who, in my opinion, got shorted during the ownership transfer. They are new to the U.S. and the Seattle area and are still finding their way around town looking for suppliers and new staff which were withheld from them. They've done a reasonably good job of revamping the atmosphere. Nothing fancy but much better flooring than the filthy carpeting before. The outside planters welcome the guests with colorful flowers - a sign of respect for their customers. I've eaten their food at least 15 times since they took ownership of the place and I find them an asset to Persian food lovers and I encourage everyone to support them until they get it right - which I know they are striving for it. Customer service is very weak to the point of non-existent but I give them 5 stars only to make up for some of the unfair, ignorant and arrogant comments posted previously. Persepolis Grill is one of Seattle's few purely Persian restaurants. Years ago this location was Caspian Grill, which was a staple experience of my childhood, but sometime in the last decade the brothers who ran Caspian moved their restaurant to Bellevue and sold this location to another owner who produced an inferior product and after a few visits, I stopped coming here altogether. Persepolis is now under new management, and when my brother suggested we come here for dinner, I was initially doubtful as to how good it would be. To my surprise, I was blown away. Not only are the menu prices very reasonable for a Persian restaurant (others oftentimes charge $30+ for a plate of kabob), the quality of the food was outstanding. I ordered my usual Soltani Kabob (mix of a ground beef skewer and a steak skewer with half rice and salad), and from the first bite I was thoroughly impressed. Not only was the meat cooked to perfection, the seasoning was divine. The subtle taste of onion, turmeric and saffron really added to the flavor of the high quality, juicy beef. The rice (which like Sushi oftentimes defines the Persian food experience) was fluffy and not overly buttered. The service was also excellent - I felt like I was eating at the home of a relative, sans the obtrusive force-feeding and gossip that is rampant in Persian culture. I think Persepolis is now the Seattle area's best bet for Persian food, short of my grandma's house. Don't pass on this gem. read more

Went here for a birthday this past weekend and hands down, this was the worst service I have ever experienced. Service is definitely 1-2 stars but the food was decent which is why I'm giving it 3. I have never experienced during dining, 30 minutes to get your drink. I explained to them I wanted vodka and sprite, they show under well drinks a blueberry vodka. The waiter clearly didn't understand us when we told him 3 times what I wanted and he brought (30 minutes later) a can of sprite and a blueberry drink in a bottle. In addition the decor is quite off, Persian pictures and then Italian cafe pictures. The portions are HUGE so it is definitely good value. I got the shashlik which is typically chunks of lamb on a skewer. This was thinly sliced rack of lamb that was so overcooked it was actually crunchy. It was terrible. I tried the chicken skewer which was very moist and very tasty. Had a much more pleasant dining experience at Caspian Grill (their sister restaurant I hear). So I would choose them first in a heart beat! read more

We had a group of four and had never tried Persian food. We tried the King's Choice collection of chicken, beef and lamb skewers and agreed that the chicken skewers were our favorite as they were juicy and amazing. We also tried the Roasted Eggplant and it was good, but not amazing. The Tadig + stew was yummy and the crispy rice interesting. For dessert we tried the Faloodeh, vermicelli noodles in rose water and we felt like this wasn't a dish we would suggest. But the Baklava was yum! So, outstanding service (they were so sweet!), really amazing meat and rice dishes and some great experiences with different things. read more

The food here is great. The Duh or Dugh or whatever the drink is called is also awesome. The owner is kind and highly tolerant. I was recently there and witnessed some old bore telling him about how he'd been to Iran and what a great place this city and that city was and basically bragging about where he'd been and how worldly he was. Freaking delicious Persian food in a family-owned restaurant. The Koobideh (beef skewers) are tender and perfectly seasoned. I highly recommend ordering it with half/half rice/salad as the side. Such a tasty combo! I really enjoyed mixing and matching the different flavors. I so enjoyed my first time here that I immediately went back for dinner again the very next night. The saffron ice cream also makes for a great ending to the meal. Jet City Improv is just across the street, so I recommend doing both for a fun evening out! read more

Our first visit to this restaurant (new to Seattle), and we really enjoyed it. Very friendly service. I grew up eating Persian food, and we ordered a variety of dishes. Kabobs were very good. Ice cream was amazing. For the khoresh's (Persian stews eaten with rice) they had a wide variety of options, but it seems like they use common bases and add ingredients to order. I think it would be better if they focused on just a few "daily specials" cooked traditionally. Overall, though, a nice experience. We'll be back. read more
