We were super super excited to finally try Perdida with so many incredible reviews. It's gorgeous, in a great spot, and the vibes are great. It's definitely a Place To Be Seen®. The cocktails are just out-of-this-world good. We each tried like 3 different cocktails off their list and every one was beyond amazing. Their margaritas are just like, fresh fruit margs and they're insanely good. I would (and will) go back here just for their cocktails. We felt the service was totally solid - a little slow at the start but they were pretty busy so it's all good. Zero issues with anything, and our server was a good dude. But the "worst" part about it was the food; nothing was bad at all, it was just really really average. I've had tacos at a dozen other restaurants that are as good or better than here. I had the carnitas tacos and while the carnitas was pretty good, the rest of the taco was just not special in any way. And the tortillas absolutely fell apart; usually flour tortillas are gently fried and that helps them hold together but these seemed like they came right out of the bag. The beans were decent, and the rice was FABULOUS. I was just disappointed because I've had tacos that are a lot better at just regular ol' restaurants. Was kind of a bummer. The wife felt the same way about her camarones tacos. Overall just kind of average food that was under seasoned. We also got into some chips & salsa with the salsa flight, and the queso. The chips were fine, absolutely standard - but the salsa flight was really fun. Great tasting salsas from the spicy to the marinara-esque red salsa. And the queso was decent, but a little lackluster. Wouldn't suggest anyone NOT get it, but it wasn't anything I'm going to tell my friends about. So we were bummed that the food really wasn't what we'd hoped for, but we'll absolutely come back just for cocktails. read more

We went here for my sisters birthday and it was amazing. We had our on little area away from the main restaurant, and I thought that was very nice and made it more personal. The customer service was on point and our server was on it. We didn't have to wait or ask for anything. The drinks here are also great I got a strawberry margarita and am still thinking about it! The food was also very good and didn't have to wait too long. Overall would definitely recommend this place for a get together or something casual. read more

This place was AMAZING. The decorations were kind of a hybrid modern/traditional Mexican style and made the environment so fun to be in. There are outdoor shaded seating options and garage doors that allow for fresh air but when we were cold they closed them and even gave us blankets to stay warm. We had margaritas which were amazing (I particularly recommend the spicy passionfruit one) and I had a michelada which was pretty good but very different than a traditional one (which the server did tell me in advance) so it was worth a try but I suggest sticking to margaritas since they have so many options. Okay now for the food: I had a cheese enchilada with rice and beans which was to die for. Tacos were delicious as well and there was a large variety of options, including many vegetarian ones and everything was reasonably priced, especially considering how nice the place was. Such a cute place for some Mexican-style cuisine! Very nice inside and outside so this place would work for taking a date or just having lunch/dinner with friends. I got the ceviche which was a HARTY amount! The flavors were great and the fish went well with the chips! My husband got the fajitas but had to order the salsa tray to add more flavor and spices. I wasn't a massive fan of the churro dessert. It was pretty undercooked on the inside and really crunchy on the outside. May be worth trying it out again to see if I can getter turnout. The waitress was super friendly and attentive and even helped us move when it started raining outside. The drinks were great! A little expensive but pretty tasty. This is a very different and fun place. It seems like you've left the Rocky Mountains and entered a good vibin' coastal city that is setting the trend in a chill way. The food is really good, we had the chips and salsa...careful the red mayo looking one is sassy! The fish tacos were great as well as the chicken fajitas. If you're not too hungry go with the tacos, there's just 2 and the fajitas give you more. I had the toasted coconut which might be my favorite summer cocktail for 2022! I love the atmosphere, the mermaid tiles on the wall give the whole place a movement and the comfortable seating keeps your feet on the ground. Had a really enjoyable lunch here today. We were seated on a Saturday around noon without any wait. It first impression was how inviting the restaurant was, blending the inside and inside perfectly for such a beautiful Denver fall day. We sat in the back in a super comfortable spot. It is so comfortable that it really invites lounging over your meal and not rushing to the next thing. Speaking of the meal, we shared the short rib fajitas, which were really wonderful. Just the right amount of food for two people. The beef was perfectly cooked where they got all of the fat rendered and made it fall apart delicious. The only critique is that it could have used a bit more spice and salt, but everything was fresh and tasted really good. The drinks were also amazing. Coconut and limoncello...mad genius! read more

Tastey, but pricey. The "shotopus" sounds fun for a more boisterous group; a variety of six shots (bartender's choice) served on the the tentacles of a metal octopus. We started with the 'warm queso'. Que beno! We both selected the "birria" tacos filled with short rib, queso oaxaca, ancho chile dipping sauce, and radish salad, accompanied by refried beans and rice. We were both surprised at how filling one of the two tacos could be. With cocktails and a shared appetizer, a couple could easily share an entree. This has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants. Food, drinks, atmosphere, ambiance - it's all great. I've sampled so many menu items over a few visits. Nothing disappointed. The house specialty drinks are well crafted. Every time I've visited it's been busy. But busy in a good busy restaurant atmosphere way. Servers are attentive and know the menu well. I think this is probably the most vibe-heavy spot in all of Denver. They have two patios and tons of seating indoors but everything is really thoughtfully curated from drinking glasses, and dishware to seating and decor. I absolutely LOVED dining here on a warm summer night for that reason. The service was very friendly and the food was fairly good. I wouldn't say that the food was like, wildly good but it certainly met expectations and the insane amount of margaritas to choose from was a real delight. I was at 4.5 stars because I think the Happy hour menu could be expanded and isn't as robust as other similar concepts but decided to round up because the food and service was solid. Came here at 4:15 on a Friday afternoon. Place was already starting to get busy. They said they weren't opening their patio until later because of expected storms but found us a nice indoor/ outdoor hybrid space - best of both worlds! We ordered chips and guac as an appetizer - portion size was a little small for the price even on HH but was freshly made and had nice mix-ins, really elevating it. Also got a couple rounds of the Cali Caliente Margarita, which was a nice balance of sweet and heat. Also bonus - it was garnished beautifully. For an entree we decided to order two taco platters and then swap them. The chicken tinga was delicious and very filling. The shrimp was battered and good but seemed to be missing something. They graciously brought out a couple salsas which helped bring it to where it needed to be. We saw a group next to us ordering the churros and decided to get our own as well. They were nice and warm and a mix of crunchy and soft. Overall this is a nice addition to Gaylord and I plan to be back. I hope they expand their Happy Hour menu! read more

Executive chef, please pack your knives and go! The F&B manager, on the evening of 7/16, should be fired. Four of us will never return to this beautiful hell hole. The two stars are for the amazing ambiance, cutlery, place settings, comfortable seating, and lighting. The food rates a zero: 2 + 0 = 2. Why the low rating for the food & beverages? Start with the calamari. The cephalopods were coated in a thick crust of cornmeal. The coating soaked up the rancid oil used to cook them. The encased "squid" was unlike any I have ever tasted, fortunately for me. The worst calamari ever. I relayed this message to the server, who clammed up. After two bites, the dish was left alone to further rot. The house margarita caused instant heartburn. Their sour mix ruined the drink. Ordered a coin margarita with an upgrade in tequila. How can they mess up a clean drink. They managed. Passion Fruit Margarita was too sweet. Poured some beer in it to make it drinkable. The Diablo Shrimp were served on a skewer. The life in the shrimp had been cremated, prior to being plated. The best item of the entire meal was the adobo crema. We ordered two more sides of it to camouflage and moisten the dried shrimp. We resorted to this technique to add flavor the Mojo Skirt Steak Carne Asada. As the rest of my party threw in their napkins and went for a stroll, I sat at the table staring at their uneaten food by myself for twenty minutes trying to macerate some steak from the chunk of gristle on my plate. No server or manager came to my rescue. Eventually, my party returned. I left half of the meat untouched. Given another hour, I might have been able to pry away and swallow a few more pieces of skirt steak. The Zarrandeado, striped bass, was overcooked, too. The presentation was visually appealing. The sides on all the dishes were uninspired. The sweet potato enchilada was especially unappetizing. The chips were thin, not greasy, and fresh. However, the rojo and the verde sauces were deplorable. The rojo lacked flavor, spices, and the need to ever dip a chip into it. The verde sat uneaten on most diners' tables, I suspect, due to the excessive sweetness. Time to change the recipe. The guacamole was well seasoned, fresh, and with just the right amount of acid. The problem with this dish was the portion size. Having seen the guacamole scraped clean from the bowls of other diners, I assumed it was strictly due to the taste. I was wrong. The extra small portion left diners wanting more. Is it wrong to serve such a small portion, given the expense? read more

Cocktail hour-game changer! The ambiance is beautiful & inviting. It encompasses a modern Mexican coastal vibe which I LOVE! The cocktails are always a 5/5. The food service in regards to efficiency and organization I would give a 3/5. Examples: I have ordered an appetizer on 3 separate occasions. Each time I either received the wrong dish or it was not entered into the system entirely. For my birthday I received the wrong order after waiting 40 minutes for calamari- a sweet potato enchilada arrived instead. It took another 20 min to receive my correct order. Well this place was fun. We came on a Saturday morning for brunch with a toddler and 4 adults. The seating in the back covered patio area was great with lots of pillows. The food was yummy. We enjoyed the salsa trio and the cornbread for starters. I would come back for brunch again. 1 star off for price and they were out of high chairs. Ok.....we decided it was time to give this place another try. I don't think anyone could have any issues with the look and atmosphere of Perdida. It is truly one of the best in the Denver metro area in this category. As a Coloradan/Denverite, you'd be proud to take out of town guests to this restaurant. Now, my previous review was written just three months after their initial opening and I gave them three stars. The majority of which were for the aforementioned look/atmosphere. This visit was much, much different! The food was as appealing to the eye as it was to the palate. The gentleman who seated us appeared to be the manager (he was wearing a Cowboys polo) and was very welcoming and grateful that we chose this restaurant to spend our Sunday afternoon. The only criticism I would have is the fact that I could not get a single cup of coffee to have with the flan. My wife hates coffee, but I still had to order a, larger than usual, French press for two+. We will definitely be back with friends and family! read more

Perdida is ALL the hype these days, so a few friends and I most definitely had to come in and see what it was all about. The space is GORGEOUS. From the outdoor patio with comfy, chic benches (with patio heaters) to the beautiful bar with skylight ceilings and the dining/lounge area showing surfing videos on the wall - this is ultimate coastal Mexican vibes in the middle of the mountains and I am HERE for it. Now for the food - there were a couple of highlights for me. First, the Yucca Fries with queso, chipotle crema, pico, and carne adobada was delicious - not a big serving, so could definitely eat one all to myself, but still tasty. To end the meal, I loved their Made to Order churros served with Mexican chocolate sauce and homemade cajeta (a caramel sauce) - this comes to the table warm and fresh - we loved it. And for the drinks, if you're coming with a group (or maybe if you had a really hard day), I would highly recommend the Shotopus. They have a couple of large format drinks on the menu, but this one (with lots of ingredients I don't recognize like la luna cuepreta and for de cana) is a beautiful purple color and all six shooters are served in an awesome octopus. It's fun, but also actually really delicious and kinda strong! If you're looking for a good time, get in on the shotopus! For my entree, I went with the Zarrandeado which came highly recommended by our server. This is a butterflied coastal striped bass that comes duo of herbed marinade and guajillo adobo and chayote papaya slaw. The grill on the fish was nice, but it wasn't anything memorable. Really wanted to be blown away by this, but it just didn't happen. I did get to have a bite of my friend's sweet potato enchilada which was delish. This is a great spot, if not for the decor and atmosphere inside. Would come back to see if anything else on the menu makes me happy dance. read more

Perdida checks all the boxes- delicious food and drinks, great happy hour, and trendy decor (such a cute "coastal" themed spot). We came at 3:45 on a Friday for happy hour (happy hour is M-F, 3-5PM) and the wait was going to be an hour and a half for two people! There wasn't anyone sitting outside so we asked how long to be sat outside (it was a little chilly but not too cold). The hostess quickly asked a waiter if they would be able to serve us outside, sat us, and got the heaters turned on for us on the back patio! Shortly after, they started seating others outside as well. Our waiter, Caleb, was super attentive and helpful! Especially knowing that he probably took on our tables in addition to his section inside! A friend and I ordered a few happy hour cocktails and the chips and queso. The cocktails were all very delicious margaritas (possibly the best I've ever had) and the queso was great as well. I loved the homemade chips that came along with them. My man + I stumbled by this place late one evening and entered on a whim. Despite it being a beautiful, busy summer evening, we were seated immediately on the front patio, aided by the lateness of the hour, I'm sure. I instantly fell in love with the ambiance and, goodness, I can't wait to return here! Our meal began with their delicious ceviche - seriously yummy! We then shared the veggie and fish tacos - both of which were fantastic - and topped off the meal with some super tasty churros. While the food was great, it's actually the amazing vibe that will keep us coming back. There are two patios affording a generous amount of outdoor seating given the size of the restaurant. The rear patio even has a fun, vintage VW van that has been converted to an intimate dining space for four. The inside is immaculately decorated with a modern, masculine design. The greenery and textiles make the outdoor spaces seem cozy and intimate, despite the urban locale, and the music is on point. I felt like I was on vacation, it was *that* relaxing. Food- 5/5- so yummy, good portion size. We got the guacamole and chips and salsa for apps- the salsa was INCREDIBLE. I got the Yucca fries for my meal and it was delicious, then my boyfriend got one of the taco meals. We loved it all Drinks- 5/5we both got margaritas- very strong and tasty!!!! Price- 4/5- I would say above average in terms of price. However the food and atmosphere make it worth it. Don't come expecting to be cheap though! Atmosphere- 5/5. Perdida offers Coastal Mexican Cuisine in Denver - Colorado by way of The Baja. Walking up to & then into Perdida, we immediately got vacation vibes. The exterior and interior of the restaurant breathe an arrival of somewhere trendy & exotic - think of Tulum. Perdida's aesthetic embraces a bohemian getaway as the outside and inside become one with bird nest light fixtures, an open air concept greenhouse ceiling, and the juxtaposition of modern furniture with rustic touches such as cow skulls. From the wood beaded chandeliers to the turquoise accents, Perdida will lure you in with its fresh design. The restaurant is impeccably decorated. Our reservation was at 7 and we had to wait until 7:15 to be seated - the hostess seemed a bit overwhelmed (the restaurant is very popular so we recommend making a reservation). Once we were seated, there unfortunately was a customer emergency at an opposing table so we didn't get to order anything until 7:35. This brief wait was understandable. Our meal ran smoothly after this. Our waitress - Kate - was an absolute pleasure and we'll definitely request to have her upon dining at Perdia again. She was very knowledgeable about the restaurant space and the menu. For drinks we had the The Elderflower Prickly Pear Margarita and the Paloma Margarita. The Elderflower Prickly Pear Margarita is made with milagro, elderflower liqueur, fresh lime, and prickly pear. The prickly pear gives off a subtle taste combo of watermelon and strawberries. This marg was light and refreshing. The Paloma Margarita is made with el jimador tequila, fresh grapefruit, fresh lime, and jarrito's grapefruit soda. The Paloma was my favorite! The Paloma has a wonderful (but not overwhelming) sweetness from the grapefruit soda. It's delicious - fruity and refreshing with subtle hints of grapefruit. Yes please! For the Table we had the Warm Queso, the Made to Order Guacamole, and the Tuna Aguachile. The Warm Queso is the house made queso served with tortilla chips and pico. This queso is bomb! It's creamy with a thick consistency and a wonderful cheese taste one expects from good queso; a must order! The Made to Order Guacamole is made with fresh avocado, lime, cilantro, and serrano peppers. The guacamole is solid. It had good texture and tasted of fresh, ripe avocados. The Tuna Aguachile is sushi grade ahi tuna, kaffir aguachile, avocado, and mixed veggies. The Aguachile (Chile water in Spanish) had a nice zing of acidity and was very fresh. I would describe this starter as a burst of zesty flavor & this will be a great dish for a warm spring or summer day. The Baja Camarones Tacos are made with jumbo tempura shrimp, mango slaw, avocado, and honey-arbol sauce. YES. 100% YES to these tacos. The honey-arbol (which is chile infused honey) adds a BEAUTIFUL spicy sweetness to EVERY bite of these tacos and also leaves a lingering honeyed aftertaste. The honey-arbol paired with the perfectly cooked jumbo tempura shrimp, mango slaw, and avocado is an almagamtion of coastal flavor that puts Perdida on the Mexican food map in Colorado. The Baja Camarones Tacos are a MUST ORDER when dining at Perdida! The Seared Scallops from the fire are served with rice fritters, pepitas, and guajillo coconut sauce. The scallops were cooked just right and we liked the guajillo coconut sauce. The texture variation of the soft-fleshy scallops and the crispy rice fritters was an unexpected touch to this dish. We appreciated the creativity here. For Postres (dessert) we had the Made To Order Churros which are served with mexican chocolate sauce, and homemade cajeta. The churros were hot, sugary, and crumbly goodness. DIp the churro in the chocolate sauce and then in the cajeta (mexican caramel sauce) for a wonderful combo of rustic spiced chocolate and deep caramelized nuts. read more

I had been dying to come to this restaurant since I noticed it a couple days before it officially opened and I have to say it left much to be desired... I thought their queso was pretty subpar and their chicken fajitas, while the toppings were delicious, the chicken itself was quite dry. I also was really looking forward to trying their Elderflower Margarita and it was frankly just bland. I did not enjoy it. Some things on the menu worth trying are definitely the Yucca Fries and the Shotopus! The yucca fries were topped with braised beef, cheese and pico - absolutely delicious! Fun, trendy Mexican restaurant in the heart of Wash Park. I came here with a friend for dinner, and we were fully enchanted! First, the decor: super trendy, fresh, and clean, with Southwestern accents like bull skulls on the walls, and turquoise color all around the restaurant. We didn't get to sit on the patio, but they have great patio seating as well. The drinks were very good. I had a paloma, and it was delicious! My friend enjoyed a couple of margaritas, and said they were equally as good. We split some queso to start - and I will say, this is some of the better queso I've had at Mexican restaurants. Really flavorful & a little bit spicy! I had the baja camarones tacos & those were sooooo good. The mango slaw & honey sauce were a great combo. My friend got the fajitas & was very pleased as well. Very nice place to have breakfast lunch or dinner. Love the atmosphere and the food is good. Didn't care for the way they made the micheladas but the good food made up for it. We will definitely return!! read more
