In a city where bubble tea shops are now a dime a dozen, Perchance shines through as one of our favourite bubble tea shops in Vancouver. The aesthetic of this cafe is contemporary and very visually clean and cute. I don't know if I can compare their bubble tea to any other bubble tea shop in the city because they use such fresh ingredients mixed with high-quality tea and the end result is absolutely delicious. In just the past week I've had the chance to drink three drinks including today's not too sweet, more subtle chrysanthemum sunrise which has grapefruit chunks. Their Garden Milk Tea was super tasty with rose syrup was gulped up last week but our ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE is the Passion Fruit Vanilla Float. This drink has the perfect mix of that passion fruit punch, with the bubbles of soda from the sparkling water, sweet chunks of aloe vera, and that creamy touch of the vanilla cream. You also get the passion fruit seeds mixed in with pearls (if you order their amazing pearls) and it's seriously the BEST drink. You won't be disappointed. I've had the chance in months pass to try the matcha strawberry with strawberry chunks and it was amazingly delicious too so my top two recommendations are the Matcha Strawberry or the Passion Fruit Vanilla Float! I still need to come by for breakfast but the waffles and macarons I've had here have been delightful. read more

Love that perchance has re-opened :) I went last weekend to grab some much needed coffee. The place is still as cute as I remember. I love their aesthetics! I ordered an iced latte with pearls and I love that Perchance offers this! I don't particularly like bubble tea anymore because it's so sugary and doesn't taste very good without the sugar. But I've always loved the pearls and Perchance lets you add them to basically any drink. Their pearls were super soft and chewy and added the perfect amount of sweetness to my latte. Much better than bubble tea places since their latte is normal otherwise. I also love their sandwiches (picture from pre-covid times). There aren't a lot of places to find eggs in a basket and I think they make the sandwich look so cute. Very delicious as well. Perchance also accepts Siply! So another reason why I love this cafe :) read more

I was craving for something cold so ended up making a stop at Perchance. I opted to try their matcha strawberry bubble tea as it was one for their popular drinks but would have to say it was only okay. The matcha was a bit powdery and compared to Whisk Matcha Cafe and Boba Run, I had to say it was hard to compare to the others. However given the outstanding reviews on the cafe, I may have to be back and try some of their other offerings. read more

THE CUTEST CAFE EVER! My sister and I came to this cafe in Kitsilano, and we LOVED IT~ The cafe is like a little hidden gem that I wish people knew more about! The Caprese bread was a grilled pesto, tomato and cheesey sandwich that was simply so delicious! It was a nice portion that we shared for a light meal. Paired super well with the crema drink I got, thick and creamy cheese foam layered on the roasted green tea - the hojicha tea~ (it actually taste even better with some milk I added towards the end) My sister liked the fruity pineapple sparkling as well~ it was like a tropical tasting fizzy soda that was super refreshing. Having been lucky enough to see Perchance before it was opened and try some of the potential menu items I was really excited to come back when it was open. The space is lovely and relaxed, and a great place to hang out. The food was just right for a light brunch, particularly the avocado toast, and the almond croissant is among the best I've had anywhere. The best part for me though are the drinks - coffee, tea and bubble tea options are all excellent, with fresh Boba made here and a really well balanced flavors in every drink. Standouts for me were the iced latte with Boba and the oolong cream tea, though the strawberry matcha may be my overall favorite so far. Cream was perfectly sweet and salty, and complemented the flavor of the oolong well. - Iced latte with boba: great drink for coffee lovers - Passionfruit jasmine tea with aloe: I'm a huge fan of fruit teas, and all their fruit teas are made with a homemade syrup or puree. This was super refreshing, and I recommend the aloe as an add-on! - Jasmine milk tea with pearls: very good. Pearls are cooked perfectly. Food - Grilled cheese with tomato and basil: very tasty, served on sourdough bread - Beet salad with lemon vinaigrette: house-roasted beets with some greens. Great healthy salad! - Hochicha roll: this comes from local bakery buttermere, and they rotate flavors every week. Light cake with whip-cream based frosting. This place is so clean and cute!! I love the paintings on the wall. People working here are super friendly and easy to talk to. Love that they let me use my own reusable bottles for the bubble teas. I also got to have oat milk which was delicious. I had the matcha strawberry latte drink which was sooooo good. Would absolutely have again. Just a hint of sweetness from the strawberries that were really fresh. I love Perchance! Their milk tea with pearls is so delicious, and they have great dairy free options! I'll admit I'm not an expert on milk tea, but I don't even usually like pearls and I would get them at Perchance without fail. Perfectly chewy, and a great amount of sweetness. I usually go for 50% sweetness at other places because I find the sugar overwhelming, but I find Perchance's 75% to be perfect for me, because the quality tea has an amazing flavour. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and they have great rewards on their app! They also have a super cute interior, and I can't wait for them to open up their lounge area again when it's safe. read more

Perchance is a lovely little cafe spot nestled in Dunbar. I used to love frequenting this café right when it opened in 2019. Perchance still has great teas and good coffee though my latte came out lukewarm today (the taste was good). The unfortunate part of our experience was that we had come to get an hour and a half of work in, but the employees were chatting/laughing loudly with each other the whole time. The way the walls are built definitely didn't help with echoing the noise either. Seating has also drastically decreased since COVID-19. Not quite the gem it used to be, but would still happily stop by for an iced coffee and their brown butter cookies. read more

Love this place!!!! Perfect for studying or just sitting to look cute in public on a good makeup day. They have a back room with a long table and bar stools (which make your back hurt after hours of studying) and a few tables in the front of the cafe. Their selection of art and potted plants are also conducive to the creative study mood. My favorite item from them is the Jasmine Latte so far. I've had their Matcha Latte a few times as well. A large with soy milk will cost you around ~$6-$7. They do come in tall mugs, so you do get your moneys worth. I've also had their caprese sandwich with prosciutto. It was a good complement to their lattes. Also decently filling. I've only had them do latte art for me once, but it made my week so much so that I'm writing this review about this cute bear art days after drinking him. This is our local coffee shop. I'm on mat leave and my baby and I (and often grandparents), come all the time (at least 2 times a week). The drinks are all great and they have oatmilk, which is my favorite. The rose mint bubble tea is delicious. I always avoided bubble tea, but I really like it now. It's great to have a cool shop, like this in the sleepy end of Dunbar. Hopefully, they will add more food options. read more

Adorable little take away cafe! Pros: Impressive tea selection including VERY good bubble tea. Pastries top notch. Sammiches are greasy and delicious. Cons: It takes them a few hours to make their tapioca pearls so they aren't available in the morning. And it's hard to eat in because it is always full to the brim with UBC students working. Aesthetics on point love love the decor here. From the colour scheme, paintings, to the wallpaper in the washroom, everything gave off a relaxing and trendy appeal. This cafe has a large community table, few individual tables, and bar seating by the window. They offer a variety of drinks from coffee, milk teas, tea lattes, to fruit teas. I think prices are relatively reasonable depending on what you order. Pearls is an additional $0.75, which is quite steep though. My matcha latte was strong in the bitter matcha taste and the pearls were the perfect chewiness and sweetness. I enjoyed my drink, but my only complaint is that it didn't have a latte art. It had a weird dollop of foam on top. My bf enjoyed his Oolong Milk Tea. He asked for less sweet and it was refreshing. I think this cafe has potential and seems quite popular as a study/work place. My only other complaint is that we came on a cloudy day and the air conditioner in the room where we sat was blasting. The employees weren't able to turn down the air con, but they offer blankets for you to use. read more

The staff is always kind and friendly and follow up with you to ensure you are happy with your experience and drinks. The coffee is great, and I am finding that it is my regular joint. One suggestion is if possible, to add a table or two. I am finding that during busy hours it's tough to find a seat. I decided to check out this little coffee and tea place on vacation in Vancouver and was immediately drawn in by the adorable, minimalist interior setup. I was pleasantly surprised by the welcoming atmosphere inside. It was the best customer service I've ever had in a tea shop, and talked to one of the employees, Evan, for awhile. As for the drinks, they were also pretty interesting despite being a somewhat limited menu. I tried the strawberry matcha latte and it was unlike any one I'd had before. My brothers drink was also quite good, and I can't wait to try more. It was really the sense of community and the local vibe that I adored. Overall it was really good and I even went back a second time on the trip! This time I tried the lavender Assam and the boba was super great. My brother got the blackberry jasmine and it was also really good. The blueberry and lavender syrups were amazing and complimented the drinks well. read more
