Wow. We checked out this place a year ago for future reference and the future is now. We were intrigued by the greenery on the 15th floor visible from Pershing Square and had to take two elevator rides to get here, but it is worth it. Beautiful setting, fabulous views, great service, and incredible food. I had a My Fair Lady, a twist on a cosmo, plus a grand marnier served in okay glasses. My husband and I shared the baked brie with a flaky crust and quality melted brie. My lettuce cup salad came with a perfect, large grilled salmon, moist and tender. My husband's beef was perfection itself. Even on a Wednesday, the place was very popular, especiallyl for their happy hour 4 to 6. A pleasant upscale crowd enjoying the views on a warm May evening made for a memorable meal.

Los Angeles rooftop bar night. Beautiful view of the city with upstairs for open air and more indoor seatings downstairs.

Perch LA is definitely a restaurant with a view. From the live music to the rooftop city lights, the whole place had such a fun and vibrant ambiance. The staff were friendly, bathrooms were clean, and the rooftop after dinner was the perfect spot to hang out with a drink and enjoy the LA skyline. Cocktails were a great start to the night. I had the Summer Solstice - bright, fruity, and dangerously easy to drink. Hubby ordered the Otto, which gave old fashioned vibes. For starters, we shared the surf and turf skewers and French onion soup. Both were delicious, though I do wish the onion soup came with French bread to soak up all the cheesy goodness and flavor. For entrees, the Chilean sea bass was moist, flaky, and seasoned really well. The boeuf bordelaise was very tender, though slightly on the dry side. We ended with their famous bread pudding dessert and it absolutely lived up to the hype. Overall, such a great spot for date night, drinks, dinner, and rooftop views in the city.

What a great experience They truly know how to make your birthday feel special. I came here to celebrate my birthday on a busy Saturday night, and from the moment we walked in, the ambiance was amazing and everyone was so pleasant. We had reservations for 7:30pm, arrived around 7:15, and were seated almost immediately. Our waiter was incredibly nice and accommodating, especially when it came to adding an extra person to our party. I know a lot of restaurants aren't always willing to do that, so it was very appreciated. We also mentioned it was my birthday, and they truly went above and beyond to make the night special. We started with an appetizer, but unfortunately I think it may have been forgotten because we never received it. I was honestly really excited to try it, but even with that small issue, I still wasn't disappointed with the service at all. For drinks, I ordered the spicy margarita and WOW--it did not disappoint It had the perfect amount of spice and somehow made the margarita even better. For my main dish, I ordered the ribeye with potatoes, and when I say it was amazing, I mean it. The steak was packed with flavor, cooked perfectly, juicy, and not dry at all. Easily a 10/10. I was so full I couldn't finish the last piece, but my brother-in-law happily took it because it was just that good At the end of the night, they brought out a glass for everyone to cheers to my birthday, along with a candle to celebrate me, which was such a sweet touch. Everything about the night felt special and memorable. I honestly wouldn't have wanted to celebrate any other way. I can't wait to come back for another spicy margarita and enjoy the atmosphere all over again

This was my first time at Perch. I didn't have dinner. I went to the top and had drinks. They were made to perfection. Fascinating views all over LA. It cool vibe. There are some couches and chairs to sit. First come , first serve. It can be packed there . I was able to gets seats when I went. The only bad part was the dirty bathrooms.

Some people actually ate at the couches.

Food review will be included in the pics. Just an FYI, if you have a big group(9+) prefix menu will be required. Service was good overall. Thought that the time between courses (prefix) was a bit long. But maybe they waited for everyone to finish. But overall, attentive to all our needs. Ambience was classic. Chairs were a bit combursome. Tough to move even needed. Otherwise, great environment.

Celebrated a birthday at Perch and it was such a great experience. We were seated at the perfect corner table with an amazing atmosphere, and to no surprise, everything was perfect. The food, drinks, service, and overall vibe made it feel really special. Definitely one of my favorite spots for a celebration in LA!

Perch has been on my to-go list for so long I couldn't recall why I added it. We came here for an early pre-show dinner on a warm afternoon. We sat outside in the patio and the shade wasn't fully effective in blocking out the setting sun. The service was really good. The waitress was attentive and our water was constantly being refilled. We chose a few of their most popular dishes and we all enjoyed our food. The steaks were cooked perfectly but the cuts were good but not great. The frites were not the greatest. Maybe it would've been better if it was a little more well done. we thought maybe just having it plain would be better. But we enjoyed our food and our time at Perch. We did try to go to the bar but you have to be 21 after 6pm so we took a quick look and headed to Grand Central for some ice cream for dessert!

My sister-in-law was in the city for a class on Saturday, so I wanted to treat her to lunch for her to actually see downtown. I thought, what better place with a lovely concrete jungle view (hah). We arrived around 1:30 ish and it was a little busy, but we were seated right away on the outdoor patio. She was in awe of the lovely aesthetic and the view. We ordered almost immediately. I went with the Noix de Coco cocktail and the Smoked Salmon Benedict, which came with potatoes. Everything was fantastic. My sister-in-law kept it simple with a sweet tea and The Perch Burger. She loved both the burger and the fries. I've been to the bar at Perch about four times with my husband, but this was the first time trying the restaurant for a meal. The food did not disappoint, and the vibe is just as wonderful during the day, although, nothing beats the view of the city lights at night. I will definitely be back for brunch with my husband to enjoy more of the food.

The restaurant is located upstairs and requires taking two elevators to get there. There's no designated parking or valet, but we parked in the structure next door for $14. Made a reservation ahead of time for 12 PM on a Friday for a group. I was a little disappointed that we weren't able to get the rooftop/outdoor seating we requested. I ordered the steak frites and brussels sprouts. Service was fast, and the food came out delicious. The steak and fries were cooked perfectly, while the brussels sprouts were good but nothing too memorable. Service was just okay. Our waitress only checked on us once and didn't seem very friendly. Still, the food and overall experience make it a place worth trying at least once.

Finally got to cross this off my list! The view is so nice. Great place for a date night Our reservation at Mrs. Fish for dinner included a complimentary drink at the Perch Rooftop Bar

This is an interesting building I must say my experience here was good. You have to catch a few elevators to get to the top two floors. There are some stairs that you can take also to get to the top few floors, you can get some exercise for sure, cuz the elevator takes some time at times. The 15th floor is the restaurant and the 16th floor is the rooftop bar. The restaurant is French food so the cuisine is that way. The rooftop bar is chill, they have two bars and seating throughout, which is first come first serve. There are a few fire pits scattered around the area on the 16th floor. The crowd was happy and chill and we were able to get seated and chill for an hour. The drinks are decent and priced average. There is security on each floor and at the front door. Security was actually nice throughout the building. There is a sister business of Perch next door called Mrs. Fish, it's Japanese. We enjoyed our time here.

A lot of hype surrounding this spot and it definitely met expectations. Took my gf here to celebrate our 1 year anniversary, so I had reservations booked through OpenTable in advance. Thought the entrance was cool with the aquariums built into the wall. The hostess was attentive and checked us in in a timely manner. Was unsure if we were going to be able to get a seat on the outdoor patio, but the hostess made it happen. It was a pretty view of the city and it wasn't too noisy out there either. Ideal place for a date night. Server was amazing and explained the menu well. Additionally, the rooftop bar was a nice vibe for a post-dinner drink. Moving onto the food, I saw reviews saying the food was overrated and they mostly went for the view. However, I thoroughly enjoyed it. We went for the Dine LA menu and were happy with the portions of food they served. The set Dine LA 3 course menu was perfect for the both of us. Assorted Charcuterie, 8.5/10: Prosciutto, salamis, and cheeses were all great. Surprised by the portion, since it was more than expected. Some funky cheeses, some more tame. Good variety for sure. Wish they added more gherkins to the dish. Braised short rib, 8.8/10: Very well executed dish. Easily my favorite. You can tell the short rib was braised for a while. The accompanied mashed potatoes and stewed vegetables were great additions. Classic. It was also seasoned exceptionally. A comforting and satisfying dish that is a must try. Would definitely go back for this. Steak and frites, 8/10: Solid steak and frites. Uniquely different with the frites in the cream sauce. I appreciate the flavors with the frites, but it inevitably made the frites a bit soggy. The steak was seasoned well. I opted for a medium rare, but it came slightly closer to medium. Chocolate pot de creme, 6.5/10: We were cracking up for a good minute when the dish first came out because the shapes of the "pots de creme" were vaguely reminiscent of what my toilet bowl looks like after Taco Bell. Anyways, the flavor of the chocolate wasn't too sweet and it was nicely paired with fresh berries. The berries were a nice touch, although I wish they added more. Honestly could not get over the shape of the chocolate pots. Very amusing, so +0.5 point. Overall, pretty solid set menu course for the Dine LA special. With a stunning view x 2.

A group of my friends and I have come here three different times, really wanting to like this place because the atmosphere is beautiful and lively. Unfortunately, each visit has been consistently disappointing due to the same bartender--a shorter male with visible tattoos and facial hair, who seems to regularly work one side of the bar. On all three occasions, we experienced being ignored while trying to order, even as other guests who arrived after us were served first. The first time, we were eventually told "you guys can wait" in a rude tone of voice while he continued taking other orders. The second time, we were never helped at all and had to move to another part of the bar, where a female bartender provided much better service. The third visit was the most concerning. When we tried to get his attention, he responded in a dismissive and rude tone, and as he walked away, we overheard him make an inappropriate comment about us under his breath calling us out of our name and we felt very disrespected so much so that we just left. We completely understand that weekends can get busy, but consistently dismissive and disrespectful service--especially across multiple visits--is not acceptable and we've also seen him be rude to other guests as well. Aside from this issue, the venue itself is great, which is why we gave it multiple chances. I really hope management can address this, as it impacts the overall appearance and experience of the establishment. Thank you.

We had two separate servers because one went home during the middle of our dinner and both were equally horrible. Not even exaggerating when I say we waited at least 15 minutes after we asked for the check and there were probably only 10 tables in the entire restaurant. And we had to call her back over to ask for a second time. SMH. The food although flavorful was so ridiculously priced it was not even funny. I got a "ribeye ". Was literally eight thin slices of steak, like 1" x 1" size for $42! No, I will not be coming back here for so many reasons. The view is great. Castaways is definitely not what it used to be in the way of quality but at least you get more and you get the view. But definitely not worth it going to this place. It was quite a frustrating evening. Also, if you do decide to go here, just bring a coat when it's a little bit cooler in the evenings cause it does get cold up here and getting the staff to manage the heaters correctly is a whole other frustration. Oh, and valet is your only option for parking up here. It's kind of crazy because a few years ago you could just go park in the lot or the garage that's available there but now they're charging you $11 and it's chaos. I will say that the view up here is great though so if you're willing to forgo all of that for a view for like a one time date or something like that, it might be worth it

So many great memories and experiences created here including some awesome date days with my other half. If stopping in for the first time you'll discover S.G. on 7th and Grand Avenue with a door person usually always at the bottom of the staircase just outside of the restaurant/cocktail bar Zaya (which has been many incarnations including Bar CDMX, V and Mas Malo). Provide them with a valid ID, as anybody over 21 should have a valid form of identification on them at all times, not just for driving or access to 21+ events or establishments, but for safety. We were able to get a seat on the coach and order drinks from the bar relatively quickly. Prices were pretty typical of LA ($18-25 a cocktail) but I would say I probably won't come back this late as it's in a shadier part of town. They have a bouncer and it was fine inside, but it's not a place where you can bar hop if that's what you're looking for as the area is seedy. NOVEMBER 26.2025…read more I've been through many iterations of The Library Bar over the years... from small and cozy secret bar for those that work in the looming skyscrapers of Downtown LA to being some noisy urban hip hop affair that served godawful drinks (see my past review!), and on back to being a calm and casual neighborhood bar again. The interior never changes... dark... illuminated by candlelight... the bust of Shakespeare over the fireplace, the shelves of old books-- all of it remains intact. But this latest Library Bar seems to have finally dialed in what was always sorely missing in that it showcases a conscientious staff that all seem to know how to mix drinks while treating the customer well by leaving them be. On one night my date and I share a "Black Manhattan," basically a Manhattan with the generous addition of Averna, and it's terrific. On another night, I go for Happy Hour and a few pints of Guinness on draft that are surprisingly proper and go well with their excellent and, I'm told, homemade Hummus & Veggies Plate. The music at this current Library Bar is pretty much on point and is never so loud as to interfere with the conversations that patrons seem to come here for... something you should come here for too, and maybe at Happy Hour specifically if you're looking for a nice bump in your day and to spend an hour, well, happily.

I had placed a phone order, for pick up; upon arrival, I found the service was prompt. I saw my food ready to go, just past the main walk-in area. Almost immediately after that, I was taken care of by the host and on my way. I've been waiting to try this place for ages so on the drive back to work I was excited to steal a piece of meat from the bag. Initial bite flavor was good, meat was tender just a bit on the chewy side.. I wasn't bothered by it too much as I'd have to leave it in an oven warmer at work. Trying to keep food warm, in doing so, I knew there'd be only two possible outcomes, melting tender or either tough & dry. So, the dish of meat and rice sat in the warmer for almost an hour hour and a half. The downhill slope.... Set the "meat " on the veggies and began to eat. Meat after meat, I kept experiencing the same exact texture. It was the same exact rubbery chew, I initially tasted. Each and every piece was the same exact flavor. There was no peak, there was no pitfall. If you cook or grill, you know this is a red flag. Normally, consistency would be a good thing, a Master craftsman type experience, but this was NOT it. As go on, I get the sinking feeling, this can't be real meat. I lock in, the deeper I dig, each piece looks the same, broken apart the same, tastes the same, just various shapes. They can call me crazy for this one - I'll stand by it. Something is not right here. I'm not even going to throw it away. I'm going to study it for the next few days and post an updated review. Shoutout to Rich for being such an incredible host--he made our group feel welcomed, taken care of, and really elevated the whole experience. A couple things to note: there is parking available, but it is paid (you can either text to pay or use the kiosk machines). The experience itself lasts about 40-60 minutes, which felt like the perfect amount of time. The only downside for me was that the bathroom is shared for both genders. For safety reasons, I personally wish they were separate--so ladies, I'd recommend going with someone just to be safe. You just never know. They also give you a little treat afterwards, which was a really nice touch and a sweet way to end the visit! Overall, I'd definitely come back and recommend it to others

There's a lot of potential to make the interior more unique. Given the name is library bar.

The Library Bar is small, intimate, and effortlessly cool, with dim lighting, vintage vibes, and an atmosphere that feels both upscale and unpretentious. Open Thursday through Sunday evenings, it's the kind of place you want to linger. There's no printed menu--instead, one of their highly skilled mixologists asks you a few thoughtful questions and creates a drink tailored exactly to your taste. It's a personalized, artful experience--and our cocktails were nothing short of spectacular. There's no food served, but that honestly wasn't an issue. This is the perfect spot for a date night or a quiet, elevated way to unwind after a day exploring Hollywood. Our only regret? We didn't make it back for a second visit. If you appreciate craftsmanship in a glass, cozy ambience, and great conversation, Library Bar delivers all of that and more. A true standout.

We celebrated an early Valentine's dinner at Kateen in Hollywood and had such a beautiful…read moreexperience from start to finish. We kicked things off with the queso fundido, and wow, it was absolutely delicious! Rich, melty, and packed with flavor, it was the perfect way to start the evening. For my entrée, I ordered the cochinita pibil, which was incredibly tender and saucy in the best way. My husband ordered the short rib, and it was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. On the side, we shared the papas bravas and esquite, both of which complemented our dishes perfectly. The drinks truly elevated the night. My husband and I both love mezcal, and Kateen delivered. I ordered the Valentine's Day "Zona Romántica," which featured mezcal and wine almost like a sangria, but completely unique and beautifully balanced. My husband had the "Gypsy Fever," also mezcal-based, and it was smoky, smooth, and refreshing. Between the food, cocktails, and ambiance, it made for such a romantic and memorable evening. We'll absolutely be back!!

This was my first time dining at this restaurant. The server was great, the food was delicious, and…read morethe atmosphere was amazing. However, the reason I'm giving 2 stars is because of the valet parking experience. First, I was charged $25 even though the sign clearly stated that valet parking is $17 for the first 3 hours, and $25 after 3 hours. Our reservation was at 6:30 PM, we arrived on time, and we left before 9 PM, so the charge did not make sense. When I asked the valet attendant, he kept saying, "because you dined there," without giving any clear explanation. If it is actually a flat rate for restaurant guests, then that should be clearly stated upfront to customers. Second, when I got into my car, I noticed that someone had touched the navigation settings because the compass direction and display were different from what I normally use. I do not understand why there was any need to adjust or touch my navigation system at all. I really think the restaurant needs to improve and better manage its valet parking system. Honestly, it felt like I was being charged a random price just because I was told, "you dined there." If there is a flat valet rate for restaurant guests, that information should be clearly communicated upfront instead of leaving customers confused at the end.

The drinks are tastefully mix and you feel right at home. I was expecting my pretzel bites to be stale as most bars with food aren't that great but they were soft and salted. They consistently check your tables to check on you and remove finished drinks and empty dishes. PARKING was soooo easy to find. Right beside it there's a parking garage and the charge was $10 for a Friday night. I love this place and I can't wait to go again

We got on the waitlist for billiards and were able to start playing immediately. It was $20 for one hour and we played for two hours. The drinks were wonderful, my friend and I shared a purple ube cocktail and a fresh lemony gin cocktail. I can't remember what they were called but they were so tasty that we ordered a second round. The live music also made everything so special. The performers were absolutely incredible. It was a little bit crowded in there, which would be fine if people didn't keep crowding standing around where they shouldn't be. Last call for drinks was 1:30am, and I think last call for food was 12:30am. At 1:30 we were told to move away from the games area and go upstairs. Everythung was great until I heard a bartender say that me and my friend were overstaying our welcome ... it was barely 1:45 and we were finishing our drinks. That was rude... After that we were told we still had 5mins. I guess we'll leave early next time. It was just rude to see bartenders point at us and loudly say we weren't welcome ...

Night out in LA…read more Parking: Welcome to LA where finding a parking spot sucks a--. Highly recommend getting dropped off or carpooling. We got lucky with steering parking two streets away. Ambiance/Environment: Looove the vibes here. They have a small space, so it can get hot real quick. They'll check IDs at the entrance. There's in n out privileges until a certain time. Music: If you're into house music, then this is the lounge for you. They have different DJs during each set. Drinks: They offer beer, cocktails, and wine. I don't remember the names of the beer, but it did the job lol. The Mango Sticky Rice cocktail was really strong; I enjoyed it!
