We've been here many times for dinner and always loved it, so we decided to come for Sunday brunch and were quite disappointed. It's been a minute since we've come all the way down to DTLA to eat so hopefully our experience is just indicative of the brunch and not the overall food. Food - mediocre at best. We started with a bellini, coffee, and the ahi tower which were all very good, but after that it went south. My husband ordered the bacon and cheese omelette which hardly had any cheese in it. The potatoes, although they looked crispy, were soggy on both of our dishes. My husband also found a hair in his and we debated sending it back but ultimately decided we didn't want to wait for them to make a new one so he just pulled it out and we did our best to pretend he hadn't found one. I had the salmon benedict. The english muffin was so hard, I eventually asked the woman who was refilling the water to bring me a steak knife (the server hadn't come back to check on us for quite a while). She did, and even then, I still had trouble cutting through it. I've literally never had an english muffin that hard and chewy before. There was a nice amount of salmon though and the eggs were cooked the way they should be. Service was okay. Like I said, it would've been nice if the server would've come back to check on us a few minutes after we tried our food instead of half way through when I'd already asked someone else for a knife. The menu itself is pretty uninspired-- especially for a restuarant of this caliber. The brunch menu has basic items and they bring nothing unique or special to them. We've had much better versions of omelettes and eggs benedict from restaurants that are half the price. All in all, we spent $115 for a coffee, a bellini, ahi tower, and two entrees plus tax and tip. When you factor in the $20 valet fee, I think it's fair to expect more than what we received. As usual, the view and ambiance was great. Like I said, we've consistently had a good experience at dinner at Perch, but we definitely will never go back for brunch.
Been to perch several times and I've always had a good time. The steak frites has always been my favorite and hits the spot each time. The filet mignon is cooked right and the fries with the truffle sauce are very good. The bacon and mac n cheese is really good and has the right amount of cheese. The ribeye is good too but I'd rather get the steak frites. The burgers at perch are pretty hefty in size and are packed with flavor. The ambience here is really nice as it's a rooftop restaurant on the 15th floor as they also have a rooftop bar on the 16th floor. I've been here during the day and night, but the night usually tends to be better. The overall view of DTLA and overseeing Pershing square is cool to have when dining. Getting reservations here is relatively easy and I'm glad they're open late (1:30 AM on some days). Service here is good. Definitely worth visiting. I usually just park at the Pershing square lot as it's just a walk across the street from the restaurant.
Favorite rooftop and view of DTLA. Food is delicious. Yes it's expensive, but it's to be expected. Just be prepared to pay $18 for a tequila shot. The views get more beautiful as the evening goes on. Hostess was a little rude when I asked to move tables. Our waitress was nice, but disappeared before we were done. Didn't tell us if she was going on break or went home.
Delicious food! Whether you're going for brunch or dinner the food is always good! The service is good too, the views are amazing. This place is a vibe. I've gone many times and will continue to visit.
Perch DTLA offers a truly breathtaking setting. Located on the 15th floor with a bar on the top level, it boasts a stunning night view of the illuminated city lights and skyline. The Food French Onion Soup: My friend thoroughly enjoyed this--rich, classic, and comforting. Plate Provençal: Yummy, vibrant veggies that were seasoned and cooked just right. Filet Mignon (9/10): Tender, juicy, and delicious, paired with a great side salad. Chilean Sea Bass (9/10): Flawlessly prepared and bursting with flavor. Splitting the filet and sea bass was the perfect surf-and-turf combination! Verdict An absolute 9/10 experience in DTLA. Fantastic rooftop ambiance, unbeatable 15th-floor city views, and top-tier food from start to finish. The service was excellent !
The pros: The ambiance of this place was perfect. We had dinner with beautiful rooftop views, intimate lighting, and an upscale feel. They even had a band playing live with a wonderful singer. The cons: The food was mediocre at best, especially for the price. The truffle fries were lukewarm and soggy. The braised short rib was grossly unflavored. The chicken had good flavor but not a lick of salt. The broccolini was also not enjoyable. I barely ate my food, and it was not worth taking home. Also, I put in the reservation that it was my friend's birthday. We asked to split the check which she didn't. Then I had to track down the server to have her send over the birthday treat. This place has a lot of potential, especially for a date night. However, the food has a lot of room for improvement.
The decor is old world , sea shanty style. It has a nice roof top section that allows you to downtown from the 15th floor. It's a nice view. Parking was a bit of a problem so I took advantage of the valet service. 17.50. For valet. I ordered the Chilean sea bass. It came out on a bed of mushroom risotto. This meal was awesome. My friends said what they had was good but I forgot what they ordered. Service was excellent as well.
This might be one of the best rooftop experiences I have had in my life. I appreciated the whole vibe from the old Gatsby-esque elevator situation to the food. We had suitcases which were handily stored for us in a closet at the elevator transfer station (amazing). Food was 10/10 I got the french onion soup and the boneless spare rib. Spare ribs melted in my mouth and fell apart with the touch of a fork. French onion soup was solid. Wish I had stayed longer on the top floor for more drinks, but I will be back.
For over a decade I've always relied on Perch as my go to spot in downtown between this and the Biltmore hotel Pershing Square is a great place for a leisurely romantic themed hang. This restaurant has two different cultures daytime brunch in the sky and nighttime date night. It's a great blend of architecture atmosphere for this high volume. High energy exciting space. The great servers are well trained at high volume so are the hostesses and hosts who see you and know the lay of the land. Their is a no-bs attitude to the host stand which is not as welcoming as one would like especially on a date night. Perch is notorious for being backed up due to their 'elevator sitch' so just know that the reservation time you have made and the time you are called to be seated can be upwards of 45 minutes later. But the rooftop and bar area are perfectly positioned for those who are waiting. The lower energy bartending staff seems very over-it but I blame the sadly-entitled clientele for this! However, The food we had made up for all of this though and was truly wonderfully made. The charcuterie was one of the largest in the entire city. The salad with salmon was perfect to split, and our awesome server was able to do so between two plates. I loved the Chicken Supreme. And our beautiful sorbet Treo to accompany it. This is a great date night place however think early think Sunset if you would like a more European urban vibe because as the sunsets this place becomes very very different. The patron go from sipping champagne in the early afternoon to downright loud and very trashed at night many patrons loudly. The trending but the very unaware habit of loudly FaceTiming one's friend for the duration of their meal with no regard whatsoever for any other diner, will sadly be unchecked. Also, as it gets even later, the client tell switch is entirely to what can know cannot be any better described than as 'ratchet'. Perch loses it luster, and it becomes a holding pen for cat fights, and potential nighttime brawls but if you're celebrating an anniversary through it in the early. And a larger baby shower should ONLY be during the brunch hours of the beautiful daytime. Thank you to all that do make Perch wonderful we have and will continue to go to your beautiful space. We will and have continued to recommend (and still warn) people about this place for a decade. The great parts of Perch are still very much what makes DTLA a great experience in the sky. Wonderful venue for drinks and French cuisine. The menu is focused on French inspired cuisine but adapted for the American palate. The cocktail menu is fine and had something from each of the major alcohol categories. Many visit for the view and rightly so. Arriving just before sunset is a perfect time to take in the downtown skyline. The main dining area is two floors below the rooftop on level 13 so if you want to see the highest vantage point head over to the roof where you will find a bar and patio tables and chairs. Parking is valet.
This place was a pleasant surprise. I was downtown for the monthly art walk and wanted to go to the Sister restaurant but it closed. I'm so glad it was closed because this might be my new favorite location. The ambience on the rooftop was perfect with a live band. The city views are just gorgeous and would be a perfect Sunset cocktail location. The food was amazing but our waiter definitely seemed like he was not interested and wasn't really attentive to us. I would go back during the daytime or closer to sunset to see the city views. Overall the food and location are nice. Staff could be friendlier but gave off an overall air of "we're bothered we have to work at all".
Perch is located inside the Pershing Square Building. Take the elevator to the 13th floor. From there, if you're dining, take the other elevator to the 14th floor, or head to the 15th floor if you're going to the bar. My party had a reservation and arrived a little early, so we waited in the bar area on the 14th floor. The restaurant is beautiful, from the chandeliers and furniture to, of course, the city views. For a Wednesday, the restaurant was extremely busy and service wasn't the most attentive, but it was still good overall. On a less busy day, I imagine it would be better. The steak frites were great. The steak was flavorful, the sauce was good, and the cheese truffle fries were amazing. I also really liked their Sunset Spritz from the cocktail menu. There are lots of photo opportunities as well. My group got to enjoy the beautiful views and weather from sunset into the nighttime.
l've been wanting to try this restaurant for awhile. We finally got in and I think it was worth it. The service was great and the food was amazing. We had the preset menu. The starters especially the Pork Belly and the baked Brie were super yummy. My short rib was absolutely melt in your mouth. The sea bass was also a winner. We had the White Chocolate Bread Pudding and the Chocolate Pot de Crème. Both were delicious. I am usually do not like to eat outside because l am a clean freak and don't like bugs sharing my food. However, I was pleasantly surprised at how lovely it was up on the roof. No bugs in sight. My only one suggestion is that a purse hanger or stool would be nice. Thank you.

Got surprised for my birthday here and it was amazing! Service was incredible and server did not mind my drunk flirtation comments. But I assume she gets that all the time. We had outdoor seating on a hot day but they made sure we got a ton of shade. Good for big groups or even a date. All the food was amazing. Bread pudding is a must! read more

Thought that the time between courses (prefix) was a bit long. But maybe they waited for everyone to finish. But overall, attentive to all our needs. Ambience was classic. Impressed!!! Food, scrumptious! Views, incredible! Drinks, potent!! Visit was at 8:15pm on 6/5. Thanks to our wonderful service Queen who recommended I get the Ribeye over the traditional steak frites. Kid you not, this Ribeye was trimmed, seasoned, and cooked to PERFECTION!! I cannot recall the last time that I enjoyed a ribeye and was able to eat every single bite on my plate. Ribeye is known for it's marbling, but also notorious for hitting the table with inedible portions of gristle or unrendered fat. Not here mon frère! The ribeye was served with a large portion of SLAPPIN' parmesan truffle fries, the like of which I've never had, and an equally large portion of perfectly textured string beans. For context, we were originally just planning on having drinks, so I had no idea what to expect when it was decided that we were also having dinner. I knew that Perch was renowned for it's views, but I never imagined the food would be this good. I also ordered the pork belly appetizer which was the perfect starter. The belly could have been a little more tender, but devoured it with zero complaints. The accompanying slaw was so good, I could have eaten it as a side on its own. 2 hats off to the BOH and the FOH on this one. Really really well done food. Ribeye plate ~$52 and Pork Belly App ~$17. I tried several cocktails-Penicillin and The Golden Hour and both were fantastic. I especially enjoyed the generous portions of candied ginger that were atop the Penicillin-what a nice and welcomed touch. With the incredible views, I expected the drinks to be in the $20+ range, but most, if not all, were $17 or $18. The drinks were well prepared and also very solid in terms of alcohol content. Remember the Vista Views apartments, where there ain't no vistas and there ain't no views? Well that's because all of the views are right here at Perch. While the inside was well decorated and stood solidly on its own, the outside views were remarkable. I cannot wait to come back to Perch and celebrate another occasion. This place is always a vibe! I order the surf & turf skewers the shrimp was cooked perfect but the meat was sooo chewy so 3/5 on that. Also ordered the steak frites, wayyyyyy better the meat was so tender 5/5. The Mac & cheese & fries were alright nothing to crazy. Everything under $150 for 2 people. My waiter was also very nice & took her time to answer & clarify questions we had about certain menu items. Then after dinner we headed to the rooftop bar also a vibe there, good music, & good times. read more

My wife and I went here for our 27th wedding anniversary. PROS: Cool setting in location to get to the restaurant. You have to go up to the 15th floor and you have a pretty good view of the surrounding building buildings. The decor inside the restaurant is pretty interesting and nice, given in an old school field. The outside patio area had nice seating and again offered pretty good views all the way around. The drinks that we ordered were OK nothing spectacular but solid. We both enjoyed the food that we got as well. We had the tuna tartar, appetizer and French onion soup, both of which were good. We also got the filet mignon and ribeye steak. Both steaks were cooked perfectly and I appreciated that the ribeye was not too fatty. The potatoes that came with both were good as well. We ordered the white chocolate pudding cake as a dessert which also was also good. CONS: I had made a reservation ahead of time and specifically told them that it was our 27th wedding anniversary. I was not expecting anything spectacular but maybe just some kind of an acknowledgment that we were celebrating that. Yet, nothing was said. We arrived 20 minutes before our reservation and sat in the bar area, which was fine. When we finally got our table, it was located on the side of the building, which did not offer as nice of a view as the other outdoor seating areas. While we were able to go back to the host and ask to sit in the more open patio area, the fact that we were sat where we were originally considering it was our anniversary was not OK with me. When we finally did get our seat, it was a half an hour later, but we understood that because we had requested a table change. Once we were seated, it took the waiter at least another 20 minutes to even come over to our table to take our drinks and appetizer order. In the meantime, while we were waiting during that 20 minutes, a second couple had sat down right next to us, and they had their waiter come up and take their drinks and appetizer order while we were still waiting to even see who our waiter was. When our waiter finally arrived, he was definitely not into it at all as I had to ask him for his name and if he was in fact, our waiter. When the drinks and appetizers arrived, it was delivered by somebody else. It was at that point that we placed our dinner order with a second waiter. At no point did anybody tell us that the waiter was going to change. They just did it without saying anything. We waited another 15 to 20 minutes for our meal to come out which has mentioned above, was solid and the saving grace for all the waiting around we had to do. The staff there seems almost borderline annoyed, leaving us with a feeling that they were there to tolerate us and not provide a great experience. Again, very disappointing seeing as how this was our first time here and wanted it to be a place that we could return to again. Given our experience this time around with the staff, not so sure that we will be heading back down there anytime soon. Finally, the location. It's located in downtown LA, which can always be a challenge getting there not to mention the sketchiness of the area. We decided to valet park our car just because we didn't wanna be walking around on the street outside the building. All in all, while the food was solid, the second seating that we received had good views, the overall experience was one in which we are not sure we will go back, mainly because the service was below average, which in my mind is totally unacceptable giving the prices you're paying for the drinks and food. read more

Risotto amazing 10/10 Gnocchi 10/10 Salad good add chicken Steak was okay came out over cooked and tough. Salmon came out unseasoned and dry. Do not get the salmon plate just get the gnocchi and add protein Drinks were different more on the sour and tart side although had pretty sweet ingredients Octopus was good We didn't like our food so the manager made both new steak and salmon. Never had I like chocolate and fruit together until I finally visited this wonderful restaurant. My friend and I both got the Garden in the Sky 4-course meal at an amazing rooftop building which was worth every price, especially since we both get to share all the plates. Starting off with the starter course, the Fromage (steak and shrimp) were both really tender and succulent to begin with. I also loved everything that the charcuterie board provided. I can tell that all their cheeses are 100% all grass fed, because that cheddar cheese was very sharp yet very flavorful. For the appetizers, we got baked Brie and pork belly. Something about Brie and a little bit of fruit goes really well surprisingly. And their pork belly was amazing. Crispy, not too chewy, and just melts in your mouth. The appetizer course was so delicious that my friend assumed that was the main course, yet it wasn't. That's when we had the Boeuf Bordelaise (braised short rib) and Steak Frites. The short rib and potato puree combo goes extremely well together, and if you think that was good, the Steak Frites, which comes with flat iron steak and truffle cheese fries, were personally my favorite entree to indulge on. Because I'm a huge truffle lover, I might've enjoyed the truffle cheese fries just a little more than the steak, because of how rich and flavorful the fries were. Nonetheless, we finished our main course and I had to remind my friend that we had a dessert course as well. And that's where I discovered that for the first time, chocolate and fruit goes really well together to the point where I almost shed a tear or two, thanks to Chocolate Lot de Crème. Because I also love dark chocolate, the sweetness of the fruit balances the dark rich chocolate pudding. Add in a sprinkle of sea salt and you'll have the perfect balance of what I think is one of the best, if not, the best bittersweet desert that I've ever have. We also had the white chocolate bread pudding and while white chocolate is too sweet for me, this bread pudding, alongside berries, was the perfect amount of sweets for me to throughly enjoy to end this amazing course. Overall, I enjoyed every single dishes they had available. Garden of the Sky is definitely the choice if you want the best time there. 10/10 I would go again. P.S. when I asked the server for medium rare on the steak frites, he replied back, "Hell yeah!" That said, please get medium rare if you want to compliment the server, and I promise you the service will be hella amazing. read more

I was looking forward to dinner here and was underwhelmed. I really liked the ambiance and the rooftop seating. The service was not good, very slow and couldn't tell me anything about the wine. This may seem like I'm knit picking but this is not an inexpensive restaurant. Their Steak Frites was interesting. I don't know that I'd go back. read more

Perch is one of those classic LA spots that still feels special. The rooftop views are beautiful, the atmosphere is romantic, and the overall experience feels elevated without being pretentious. Great for date night or showing visitors around DTLA. read more
Downtown LA can feel a little sketch on the way in -- BUT the second you hit the upper floors of this spot, it's like stepping into a whole different world. Crisp air, buzzing energy, and a crowd that ranged from date-night couples to big celebrations. Total vibe shift. We were lucky enough to be seated in their tucked-away private dining space overlooking massive glass panes and the LA skyline -- plus our own private restrooms (honestly felt VIP without trying). Food? Ridiculously good. From the appetizers -- spinach quiche with goat cheese and surf-&-turf kabobs -- to mains like steak frites and truffle pasta... everything came out flavorful and in generous portions. I was already full when my entrée arrived and still kept eating because it was THAT good. The top floor bar is adorable and lively, with super welcoming staff making anything from creative mocktails to strong classics. And the cherry on top: a live jazz band with singers pouring their hearts into old-school classics and throwback hits. Come for the food, stay for the music, leave forgetting you're even in downtown LA. read more

A lot of hype surrounding this spot and it definitely met expectations. Took my gf here to celebrate our 1 year anniversary, so I had reservations booked through OpenTable in advance. Thought the entrance was cool with the aquariums built into the wall. The hostess was attentive and checked us in in a timely manner. Was unsure if we were going to be able to get a seat on the outdoor patio, but the hostess made it happen. It was a pretty view of the city and it wasn't too noisy out there either. Ideal place for a date night. Server was amazing and explained the menu well. Additionally, the rooftop bar was a nice vibe for a post-dinner drink. Moving onto the food, I saw reviews saying the food was overrated and they mostly went for the view. However, I thoroughly enjoyed it. We went for the Dine LA menu and were happy with the portions of food they served. The set Dine LA 3 course menu was perfect for the both of us. Assorted Charcuterie, 8.5/10: Prosciutto, salamis, and cheeses were all great. Surprised by the portion, since it was more than expected. Some funky cheeses, some more tame. Good variety for sure. Wish they added more gherkins to the dish. Braised short rib, 8.8/10: Very well executed dish. Easily my favorite. You can tell the short rib was braised for a while. The accompanied mashed potatoes and stewed vegetables were great additions. Classic. It was also seasoned exceptionally. A comforting and satisfying dish that is a must try. Would definitely go back for this. Steak and frites, 8/10: Solid steak and frites. Uniquely different with the frites in the cream sauce. I appreciate the flavors with the frites, but it inevitably made the frites a bit soggy. The steak was seasoned well. I opted for a medium rare, but it came slightly closer to medium. Chocolate pot de creme, 6.5/10: We were cracking up for a good minute when the dish first came out because the shapes of the "pots de creme" were vaguely reminiscent of what my toilet bowl looks like after Taco Bell. Anyways, the flavor of the chocolate wasn't too sweet and it was nicely paired with fresh berries. The berries were a nice touch, although I wish they added more. Honestly could not get over the shape of the chocolate pots. Very amusing, so +0.5 point. Overall, pretty solid set menu course for the Dine LA special. With a stunning view x 2. read more
Visiting town decided to come here on a Saturday night. I suggest making reservations, they accept walks-in but the wait can be hours. You can also sit down at the bar and order food there. We went with option B and got lucky to find seating at the bar. The service needs major improvement. The bar staff was not friendly or attentive. Whenever you would say thank you, you wouldn't even get a you are welcome or any acknowledgement bac. Aside of the unremarkable customer service, the drinks were also mediocre. Another customer complaint and the bartender told him that improvement is "work in progress". For food we did order truffle fries, Turf and Surf skewers, octopus. The fries were delish highly recommend, the skewers were good too. The octopus was not cooked right and it was too chewy, we barely touched it. At no time were we asked how the food was or if we needed anything. Thankfully there was a manager walking by and did ask how everything was which we appreciated. In a kind way we let him know about our dish and he was able to rectify the octopus situation. I will say the outside does have very pretty views. Came here for dinner with the fam and was not disappointed AT ALL. Their service and menu offerings were great. We were seated outside and had the view of the surrounding buildings with the sunset in the background. They had great music playing in the background and at some point during our dinner we also had a live music. After dinner we also went upstairs for some drinks and relaxing time before heading out. Can't wait to go back and try more of their deliciously created drinks and delightful food. read more
This is my third visit to Perch and time to update and elaborate on a few things. Unfortunately Perch LA gets a downgrade in my book. The Bottom Line 3 stars: Trendy vibe and a nice overall environment. Great views and stellar food and drinks. The venue and its amenities lack a bit and the service lacks quite a bit! The overall experience resembles a bit of a tourist trap. Recommended mainly for the quality of its food and drinks! Location 3 stars: DTLA, corner of Hill and 5th on 15th & 16th floors of the Pershing Square Building. There are plenty of paid parking lots as well as the restaurant's valet parking. There is also metered street parking should you be lucky enough to find one. We used the Valet for $17.50 plus gratuity which the restaurant does NOT validate. Venue 3 stars: Nestled on the top two floors of the Pershing Square Building circa 1927, in Italian Renaissance Revival style. Modern and sophisticated smart-casual setting. Nice trendy vibe. Great views of DTLA skyline. Indoor and Rooftop seating. A couple of fireplaces and firepits and some heaters (but definitely not enough - they were out of heaters when we visited on a cooler windy night and that put a hamper on the evening). Mild dress code after 4 PM (no tank tops or baseball caps or flip flops). They take reservations which makes it easy to visit without long waits. Getting from the ground floor to the restaurant is a high-effort exercise during busy times. The elevators are old and small, so only a few people can take it at a time. You have attendants supervising how many people get in, etc. etc. You also have to change elevators on the 13th floor and there is usually a long wait for this second elevator (as there is only one car for this last leg of the journey). Service 2 stars: For an upscale dining establishment, service is sub-par. The servers and front desk personnel are just OK but not friendly, helpful or attentive enough. While nothing bad happened, the frequency and quality of interactions just wasn't there. Food 5 stars: French cuisine with a modern California twist! We started with the Ahi Tuna Tartare and the Baked Brie. For our main courses, we had the Filet Mignon Au Poivre, Little Bunny Frou Frou (Rabit Ravioli) , and the Chilean Seabass. All came in generous portions, nicely plated and delicious. I would order them all again. Food prices were reasonable and on par with similar establishments. We did not try the desserts this time. Drinks 5 stars: Full Bar: Nice assortment of specialty cocktails, wine, beer and soft drinks. Extensive, impressive list of spirits, especially whiskeys. The cocktails look great, feature creative ingredients and taste wonderful. We had the Penicillin, the La Finale (similar to Espresso Martini) and the Penthouse Passion. All were wonderful. I've been here a couple of times and it's always been a good one! Usually for peoples birthdays so I feel like it's a great spot to celebrate something because it's a nicer restaurant. It's located on a rooftop in downtown LA so there are great views. I typically go with the steak frites which is amazing and what I would definitely recommend. I've also had the chicken gnocchi which was great and the Brie as an appetizer. The drinks are also really good and pretty which is a huge plus! We sat outside on the patio at sunset and had an incredible view! It was easy to make a resy, we did it just a day or two before. Since we got to the restaurant at 5:15, we were able to try a bunch of different appetizers for the happy hour deal. I'd definitely recommend doing that if you're on a budget, as the main entrees tended to be more pricey. Service was nice and attentive! Even though we were tucked away in the back a bit, our waiter came pretty frequently to check in on us. One thing to note is that they don't seat you until you have your full party, unless you're ok with having less time at your table with your full party (I think it's about 1.5 hours). read more
There is no shortage of delicious food here. The Brussels sprouts are amazingly good. Steak frites has to be ordered twice. The Bouillabaissie is a must ! Server was fantastic once we got sat down. I gotta mention that we did wait quite a bit past our reservation time on a Saturday. I think the food makes up for it. Ambiance is pretty loud inside on a Saturday. Balcony is definitely quieter and the view is amazing. Parking is not so great. I don't recommend valet seeing how they just randomly park your cars on the street next to fire lane. First time at Perch. Had a good experience. Cool hangout spot. Food/Drinks: We didn't order any food. The drinks were strong. I also didn't see any menus on the rooftop either for food. Not sure if they allow orders from the rooftop. The bar is small with a lot of people in line so jump in line ASAP to get your drinks going. Service: The staff was great. They smile and can have a nice conversation with the guests. It definitely makes a difference when you can laugh with staff. Atmosphere: It was a great Atmosphere with a large crowd. The one downfall is that its a small space on the rooftop and the seating gets full quick. So if you're not there early you end up standing all night. Also they don't have any music playing which is fine but it helps. Maybe something not too loud but enough for the small space to have another element to it. Just my opinion! The seating is also like a backyard kind of vibe. Nothing nice or fancy just so you know. It's super relaxed and chill. Location: It's in DTLA on Hill St. Same building as Ms. Fish. It also dosent have a visible sign from a distant so you won't see the name perch until your right up on it. It can be easily missed if your driving by. Price: drinks are online with the average. About $12-18 depending on what you order. Parking: It's DTLA just valet unless you like walking a couple blocks and honesty the prices are not that far off. Let's start with the positives. Short wait time, could hear live music from where we were seated. I personally had the steak frites and it wasn't anything to really write home about. I felt as though my steak was overcooked a little and the food didn't really wow me. My husband enjoyed the egg plate. Now for the negatives. We found the longest hair in the French toast my child was eating. Totally grossed out. Told the waiter and he switched it for another plate but the dining experience was already ruined at that point. No other attempts at derive recovery which was disappointing. The patio views at Perch are incredible. We went for happy hour and were impressed by the selection of drinks and appetizers, all at very reasonable prices. This place is hyped for a reason. I dont even mean to be dramatic, but it really is just that good and id go back over and over. My friend and I got the chilean sea bass, Filet Mignon, pork belly, and truffle fries to try, all of which were just perfect. The fries were the best ive ever had and theyre GENEROUS with the sauce. The service was alright, very friendly, just wish they were more attentive, but still better than alot of other places. Ambiance is very nice, one of my favs so far. I reccomend making a resevation at 7 (when the live music starts) it adds to the entire rooftop vibe and they actually play really good songs. read more

This has seriously been on the to do list for many many years as a frequent visitor to DTLA for my food cravings. Visited years ago or as they say back in the day for cocktails only. We finally had brunch and I was disappointed given the 11k+ reviews. We ordered the cheddar bacon burger, rib eye chilaquiles, and steak and fritted. The burger was probably the best with exception of the over slop of the sauce that drenched the brioche bun. The steaks were just mid. The cocktails were on point. Definitely not the go to for brunch but still perfect for cocktails. While I can appreciate vintage and preservation of history the interior decor just felt drab and the bathrooms left much to be desired. Love DTLA so on to the next read more

Came here to celebrate my dad's birthday. Completely recommend reservations before you go. They have a valet service to park your car as parking downtown can be tricky. When you enter from the elevators, you are taken to their rooftop space. This is where the views are. Their food for the night was really good also. The steak was cooked perfectly. Perch is a hip spot, in my opinion. I went for brunch and it was a great vibe. There was live music, which consisted of drums, electric bass, electric guitar, and a vocalist. The style was sort of R&B, with a bit of a retro 90s hip hop and neo soul touch. The service was very good. The weather and ambience were fantastic. We were upstairs on an outdoor patio. It was total downtown Los Angeles chill time. I ordered two mimosas, and poached eggs with chicken sausages and potatoes. It was tasty. Apparently they have a rooftop bar that is open pretty late.
