The steak frites were cooked perfectly--tender, flavorful, and paired with crispy fries that had just the right amount of seasoning. Simple, classic, and done right. The chicken supreme was juicy and comforting, with rich flavor that felt elevated without being heavy. The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it a great spot for a relaxed dinner that still feels special. We actually got in earlier for our reservation and were in time for happy hour, and it was amazing - we sat outside, in the corner, shaded, and you can see all around the local DTLA area and our server, I think her name was Izzy, was just fantastic on top of it. The food was delicious. We had a smattering of all the appetizers not a single one didn't miss, my favorite was the arancini but a few in the party really enjoyed that roast beef sandwich sandwiches. came here to the rooftop bar as part of the dual reservation with mrs fish downstairs. it was pretty packed but as people came and went seating opened up. for anyone confused on how to access the rooftop bar, you need to take 2 elevators from the lobby: the first one up to floor 13 and from there a 2nd elevator up to floor 16. there are staff throughout to help guide you, or you can follow the guy with a cowboy hat & a toothpick in his mouth. he was the best (shoutout!) the view is beautiful and we managed to get a glimpse of the sunset. there were fire pits but i'm not sure if they work, nobody turned them on while we visited. the drinks were decently priced, i used my free drink token to get the my fair lady and oooooooh was that good. tasted like a sour patch watermelon, very good. i am definitely looking into coming back with a larger group read more

It was some of the patrons, they were loud and it took away from what really was an incredible ambience and some place that made downtown LA, just really as beautiful as it is. There is always a line outside waiting to be let in I came here for drinks on a Thursday evening and it was super busy! They have a rooftop just for drinks and a floor below which is the restaurant. I recommend making a reservation to avoid the long wait times. The view from the top is immaculate. There was a live performer there as you enjoy your dinner and drinks. My friend and I tried the truffle fries which were good, but the cheese on top made it tough to eat a few minutes later once it got cold. As for drinks, we just got shots of henny. Amazing views, solid (but pricey) drinks, and hardly any seating is the headline here. This is a must do in the area once in a blue moon, and you really can't get better views of the city than this unless you're on a mountain. The place itself is really impressive looking with a 360 view of downtown LA, but the issue is that everybody else knows about it too! The wait for a drink when we went last weekend was around 25 minutes, and the drinks are about 18-22 bucks without tip. Certainly not the priciest in the city, but it's not a deal either...I had a take on an old fashioned with Japanese whiskey, which was tasty. That said, this place might need to find a solution for the seating situation or limit entrants during peak times. When we went, it was basically shoulder to shoulder, and the lucky 50 people who got seating were holding onto it for their lives the entire night. It can get uncomfortable standing in the same place for two or three straight hours, and it was that night. Maybe more seating could be added, or a general time limit for seating? Just an idea. Anyway, worth the trip for the view, and I do love that they don't do a cover charge - it's why I buy drinks. The 1st time we went, I was able to get a burger which was fantastic but I guess that was supposedly only for the lunch menu so when I went there again specifically for that I was a bit hurt that I wouldn't be able to have it during that time. We went back last week before a show at the Mark Taper Forum and everything was excellent from the moment we arrived the restaurant. The drinks were tasty. The service was friendly and attentive. I came on Saturday with reservations at 3:30 PM. Apparently, it was only a "brunch" reservation & we only had about 15 minutes or so to order, because we were not going to be allowed a dinner menu after, even though dinner started at 4:30 PM. I booked through OpenTable and the information stated that our table would be available for us to dine at for 2 hours for a party of 5. There was no information through the OpenTable app or email confirmation that it was solely for "brunch" and you would not be allowed to order dinner. It is a lack of information Perch needs to address with OpenTable and put directly on their own website without any discrepancies. Disappointingly, we were not given any kind of menu and were not able to order anything else, as far as food, for the remainder of our time after ordering. I have never been to a restaurant where I have been denied a menu or ordering food at any time (I've dined at many Michelin Star and world renowned restaurants). Perch definitely has a short coming here, and they need to be more direct with their guests on OpenTable and on their website about the technicalities of their meal services. Food was okay/good, not great. Ambience and rooftop views were nice, although the table was wobbly. Parking was easy since they had valet at the entrance of the building for $17.50. Service was good, minus the fact that they took an extra 15 minutes or so to serve one of the entrees after everyone else had already received their entrees. The late entree was taken off the bill. Will not be coming back anytime soon since it's absolutely absurd you that you can be denied a menu or to order food at any time during your dining experience. read more

I had an absolutely wonderful attending a private event at Perch! The rooftop area was spacious with a wonderful view of DTLA. I loved the easy to access bar and photo ready vantage spots. The staff were very nice and obliging when we asked for their help with taking pictures. The servers were all professional and were everywhere at once, making sure everyone was where they wanted to be. The area was crowded, but I never felt claustrophobic. There were three make shift bars set up. Seating is first come first serve but we found a spot in a corner near a little fireplace which was nice. The seats though were outdated and could use a good cleaning. Once we sat down at our dinner table, our waitress brings us waters and menus and walks away. No introduction, no conversation, nothing. She walked by oir table several times without acknowledging us so we had to stop her even to order a drink. So we did not return the steaks. It was my Wife's birthday, and we're not the type to send things back if they're edible. If they were tough, we would've sent them back. Just trying to keep a positive vibe during dinner. Very overcooked, but luckily they weren't ruined. Disappointing when you're paying over $100 for 2 small steaks.
