    Pulpo Al Aji Amarillo

Perfectly cooked steak.... Came here for dinner before my friends engagement party, and we ordered a few apps and a steak. App-wise we got the carpaccio, octopus (pulpo) and mussels. Carpaccio was fresh and the arugula salad on top was a perfect. Mussels with chorizo were bomb. That sauce was killer with the bread. Pulpo was a tad chewy, but flavors were good. The steak was the star. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. We preferred the bread's chimichurri with it more than the sauce flight it came with but still good. Service was amazing and ambiance is nice. Would come back.

The food has no complaints! The steak was cooked to perfect, the paella and the sea bass are both top notch. Chocolate mousse was good too... The issue was the operation... We had a reservation at 7:15... Upon arrival at 7 there was a line of people with reservation outside the restaurant under cold weather, we had to line up and were seated 40 minutes later. The chair was super uncomfortable... We ordered a bottle of wine with some appetizers... The wine wasn't come until we almost finished the appetizers... Servers were doing their jobs but nothing exceptional. They provide 2 hours validation of parking but due to the long wait before we were seated we still have to pay some for parking ...

An amazing spot for Argentinian food! The service was outstanding from start to finish, attentive, friendly, and made us feel truly welcomed. The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it a perfect place for a date night or special occasion. Every dish we tried was absolutely delicious, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. From the perfectly cooked meats to the overall dining experience, everything exceeded our expectations. Definitely a place we'll be coming back to!!

Made a reservation at 7 PM for 11 people but the restaurant was empty either way. The server was super nice but we had to wait often for him to come take our order or other things we needed. Lots of waiting time but nonetheless service was still good. The food is very unique and different, not your average steak house. I would definitely recommend the spinach and cheese empanadas. The steak over any of their other dishes. The restaurant itself is small but at least there was parking which is nice!

Friday night dinner with coworkers turned out to be a really nice night out. The restaurant is very stylish and has some great artwork that creates a very chic environment. Our waiter was very attentive and very pleasant. We ordered cocktails first. The Medicina Latina was delightfully gingery. We also had the Burrata, Beets and Prosciutto appetizer, and the Frito Mixto. Both were wonderful. I had the ribeye which was very responsibly priced for a steak these days. It was cooked to my liking and came with three unique sauces for dipping. It was a vey tasty meal. We finished with a very nice bread pudding for dessert. I will definitely be back.

Had a great time with my girlfriends at this beautiful restaurant. I've been to the one in Pasadena location and I didn't know they had one in Art District ! Although we were seated outside of the restaurant, they have a good portable heater outside, so we stayed pretty warm. Also, alcohols help to warm up our bodies too! All the staff who help us are very friendly and attentive. There's a valet parking nearby, but I was able to find one on the street.

For a last minute decision, this place was worth it. Trying to arrange a dinner the night before and booking everything the day of, it was a stretched. I called this restaurant that morning off just right after opening. They were able to accommodate my large group. With the menu looking great, it was worth trying this place out. Located in downtown art district just around the corner from breweries and restaurants. They do have parking available in the structure nearby and offer validation. It was a little of a confusion when we arrived. We pulled into a lot right next door thinking it was the structure. Which it wasn't and the structure next door was blocked off. We called to check and found out that there was another entrance. Also, don't do what we did and walk around the blocked....LoL... If you exit through the entrance of structure you'll walk around the block but if you exit towards the building alley way. That will literally lead you to the front of the restaurant about a 2 minute walk. Checked in which some of the party was already there. There's a nice outside patio dining. Lights hanging to give it that nice al fresco vibe. It is part of a structure with business on the main floor and an apartment complex above. A nice inside dining area with a massive bar. A very clean modern aspect to it. Menu was great with so many choices to choose from. You have all the staters including empanadas, of course the melted cheese (provoleta) and so much more. Entrees, if you're looking for meat they have them. Specialty dishes, pastas and many more. They do offer a corkage fee of 35.00 per bottle for two. Third bottle would be 50.00. And you are allowed to bring your own dessert for an additional 3.00 per person cutting fee. Of course there was a couple bottles had for dinner that we brought. Water was also brought out to start. Like mentioned, menu was great. We started off with a couple of the empanadas. They were quite tasty but if you have a large group, make sure you order enough. They're decent size but a good amount is needed for sharing. Also some of the provoleta cheese. Quite tasty but a knife is needed to cut into it versus it being loose and melted. Served with sliced toasted bread. And some of the grilled octopus. Another great dish served with roasted potatoes. It's not that big just one piece. Entrees, there were a bit of everything. Some ordered the selections of streak. They were à la carte and served as is with three dipping sauce. If you wanted a side, it was additional. Then a couple of the pasta dishes which were quite nice. They honestly had a lot of choices with that. Fettuccine con salmon, spicy sauce with capers, garlic, kalamata olives and zucchini with thin long pasta. Trofiele with ragu and Caracau pasta. Short twisted pasta with shredded braised short rib stew ,carrots and English peas. That also came with a grilled bone marrow on the side. Besides that, there was also some order of the Cazuela del sur, their seafood stew. You could also add fresh made pasta and chorizo to it. Strew was quite tasty with a mixture of shrimp, scallops, mussels, clams, baby octopus, squid and snow crab legs. Served in a white wine broth with tomatoes, Spanish saffron, garlic and sweet pepper and onions. Quite a tasty and filling meal. A little messy with the crabs but great. Lastly another seafood pasta. Similar to the seafood stew but a little thicker with the sauce. The tagliolini golfo Nuevo. Thin egg and squid ink pasta. I'm used to squid ink pasta being dark but this dish it wasn't. A mixture of different seafood of scallops, calamari, octopus, clams and mussels with shrimp. Another nice delicious dish. Food was great and pretty flavorful. Portion wise for the pasta was great. Plenty for a meal and some could even been shared. But the steaks and meats, their à la carte with 3 dipping sauce. Sides are an additional fee. The service was great. Friendly staff and good vibe. Also bread and chimichurri sauce was also brought out to start. I'm glad we tried something new and it was a great experience. I think they also have a few other locations. They also offer 2 hour validation in the structure next door. We ended having to pay 8.00 additional afterwards. Nice restaurant hidden in downtown art district. Would love to try it again for lunch or happy hour.

If you know Argentina then you know they are about their asadas(barbecues). Here at Malbec Arts District they do their steak well. I am impressed that they have morcilla(cow blood sausage). It's a bit pricey but good to enjoy authentic Argentina style food. Walking distance from little tokyo. Parking in LA can be difficult but manageable either way patience. We didn't have a reservation but just call ahead to make sure they arent busy. I heard the pasadena location is packed all the time. They have great service and very kind. The inside and outdoor seating is nice and comfortable. Their cocktails are okay but the wine is good. Lucian you are awesome. Thank you Ulie gor being cool. Thank you for the good service Daniel.

Let me start off by saying that you to all the staff at Malbec for making a special night noteworthy! It was me and my girlfriends one year dating anniversary, and we had been wanting to go to a steakhouse, so after doing some research, this place stood out, so I made a reservation through OpenTable. I made sure to put in the notes that it was a special occasion, and that we wanted a quiet, intimate feel. Reservations were for 630, we were sat outside, wasn't too busy. I wish I can remember our waiters name, but he was awesome. He recommended a nice Malbec wine to start us off, and told us which cuts of meat we would like. We had the spinach/cheese and spicy beef empanadas for an appetizer, which were nice and crispy. For the main entree we had the skirt steak and the Argentinian rib eye steak; these were some juicy, succulent cuts, and the 3 chimichurri sauces brought them up a little! For sides we had the Yukon roasted potatoes and brussel sprouts with bacon, which paired nicely with the meat. Last but not least, our waiter hooked us up with some free champagne and a cup of delicious ice cream with a little candle, free of charge because of our anniversary! We really lived the thoughtfulness of the staff to make our date just a bit more special. If you're looking for a yummy steak dinner in a quieter part of downtown LA, make sure Malbec in the Arts District is on your list!

I THINK I may have just found my new favorite restaurant! A friend and I made 5:45 reservations on a Saturday, and while we were thankful to have reservations, we didn't need them at this time- there was still ample seat availability. The restaurant filled up between 7 and 7:30- definitely recommend 5:45 or 6, if you don't want to wait! Malbec offers validation for parking at 950 E. 3rd street structure- DO NOT park in the small lot next door (it's $10/HOUR)! The dining room has a great vibe, with ample seating that isn't crowded, there is also outdoor seating available, with heat lamps. The restaurant looks good for couples, small groups, or large groups. Our server was warm, friendly, and attentive; also, our water glasses were kept full! I ordered the Without A Kiss mocktail (an artfully put together mocktail that made me not miss the alcohol at all!), and my friend had a tasty Shirley Temple in solidarity! Malbec serves sliced white baguette with a chimichurri, which was super good! Now, onto the food.... - Appetizer: Pulpo Al Aji Amarillo (Grilled Octopus) - AMAZING! Fresh, grilled to perfection and delicious! - Mains: Me: Pollo A La Diabla (Lemon Chicken with a spicy sauce- also available not spicy): I had this with mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach. The chicken was delicious, however the spinach and mashed potatoes were VERY buttery and a bit too rich for me to finish in one sitting. Delicious, just too much for me! My friend: Entraña a la Parrilla (Strip Steak)- AMAZINGGGG! Tender, cooked to perfection (medium). Malbec does steak EXCEPTIONALLY well! Steaks come with sides à la carte- she ordered the Saffron Rice, and enjoyed it fine. - Dessert: Panqueques de Dulce de Leche (Crepes with Dulce de Leche, berries, banana, and vanilla ice cream)- This is a PERFECT dessert to cap off your meal, and is perfect to share for 2! Value for the dollar was reasonable...around $155 for everything, not including tip. 5/5 Stars - WILL DEFINITELY return!

Malbec arts district is a different vibe than Pasadena! The restaurant had high ceilings, with converted garage doors, and a hip atmosphere. The price is a little higher than pasadena and the portions are mixed but all in all it was fun! The service was great and attentive. The steak and burgers were delicious! Sadly I did not take photos of the meat! Dishes

While I lived closer to the Pasadena location I decided to try the happy hour here with my coworker more than once! The location was originally a bbq spot...really glad it became this place Argentinian food and this place...you don't disappoint! Everything on the happy hour menu...yummy! The bartender was great, super friendly. Tried the spicy beef empanada, entrana (skirt steak) a little salty but tender, tried a pulpo aji amarillo ( octopus) delish- reminded me of a type of poke salad, olives were quality... Malbec salad too, a mix of goat cheese, romaine and the dressing was creamy!

That says a lot. Once upon a time (a few years ago), my CFP + banking institution wanted to thank me for being one of their top private clients. They expressed their gratitude with a very generous, all expense paid full-course meal at Bestia. To say that I was impressed would be an understatement. Fast forward to now, I knew that coming back here would be a good idea. Make no mistake, even if you try to book a reservation several weeks in-advance, don't be surprised if the only available seats are at the counter. Granted, I was in a spacey table during my past visit, the counter can be an enjoyable & unintentionally entertaining space. It's great for a more casual vibe, as you get to see some of the kitchen workers put together some of their signature dishes. In many ways, Bestia seems like a microcosm of the city that it rather humbly resides within. What always catches me off-guard, is that the surrounding simple area really doesn't reflect the happening, vibrant, night-life that resides within the building's walls. You feel like you're taken so a different, very social, very bustling world. WINE: Podere 72, Poderi San Lazzaro (Marche region, central Italy) - 8.7 / 10 A very robust blend of Montepulciano & Sangiovese grapes that results in a balanced, medium bodied red wine that stands-up to heartiness of a beef ribeye steak. FOOD: Roasted Bone Marrow - 9.4/ 10 I have several friends that go here just for this particular dish. Funny enough, one can almost always tell that one is at Bestia because of the rather peculiar manner in which this dish is served. Hot, melted bone marrow is appropriately scooped out of the bone & poured onto spinach gnocchetti. It's like eating beef flavored mouth pillows of potato + spinach. It's definitely a dish that will impress whoever you are with. I can never resist ordering this whenever I am here. Oxtail alla Vaccinara - 8.9 / 10 The deep, rich maroon color of the rigatoni (thanks to beets) is a sight to behold. The pasta is firm but not too hard. It's a humble yet complex pasta dish that complements any main course. 26oz Margaret River Wagyu Ribeye - 9.4 / 10 Anybody who knows me knows that I love my ribeye. Any decent fancy restaurant does a ribeye. But no one does a ribeye quite like Bestia. The fermented mushroom cream delivers a punch of pungence not unlike a delectable dijon mustard, but to the highest of levels. This dish also makes me a believer in well-cooked onions served alongside steak. I usually like to take a home a portion of ribeye for later, but this is one of the very few instances when the steak is so good, that I can't help but finish it here. Again, the portion is more than enough to be shared. Fromage Blanc Mousse - 9.1 / 10 This seasonal dish hits all the right notes. It's the fanciest of cheesecakes, so I recommend sharing this. With its decadence, a little truly goes a long way & that's perfectly fine. The richness of the cheese is offset perfectly by the right balance of candied kumquats. A great "bite" to end on. Huge shout-out & thanks to Radu for being the nicest & most enthusiastic of servers. It's little things like him being so down to take pics of you with your party that really make me want to come back here. It the owners / management is reading this, please recognize how pivotal he is to your team. If he was working under me, I would most definitely give him a raise. Also, shout-out to Dani at the hostess stand. She is one of the most personable people. For being the first person that patrons see upon entering, she is the perfect face, attitude, & welcoming personality that the hospitality industry is in dire need of. She's a rockstar of a hostess & a pleasure to talk with. Bestia is a better place because of valuable employees like Radu & Dani. As always, come for the food. Come back for the service. I would definitely come back because of how amazing Radu & Dani are. Years after the hype, the vibe is still very much happening at Bestia.
