The pros: The ambiance of this place was perfect. We had dinner with beautiful rooftop views, intimate lighting, and an upscale feel. They even had a band playing live with a wonderful singer. The cons: The food was mediocre at best, especially for the price. The truffle fries were lukewarm and soggy. The braised short rib was grossly unflavored. The chicken had good flavor but not a lick of salt. The broccolini was also not enjoyable. I barely ate my food, and it was not worth taking home. Also, I put in the reservation that it was my friend's birthday. We asked to split the check which she didn't. Then I had to track down the server to have her send over the birthday treat. This place has a lot of potential, especially for a date night. However, the food has a lot of room for improvement.

Risotto amazing 10/10 Gnocchi 10/10 Salad good add chicken Steak was okay came out over cooked and tough. Salmon came out unseasoned and dry. Do not get the salmon plate just get the gnocchi and add protein Drinks were different more on the sour and tart side although had pretty sweet ingredients Octopus was good We didn't like our food so the manager made both new steak and salmon. Appetizers amazing but the mains were different besides the gnocchi being great

The decor is old world , sea shanty style. It has a nice roof top section that allows you to downtown from the 15th floor. It's a nice view. Parking was a bit of a problem so I took advantage of the valet service. 17.50. For valet. I ordered the Chilean sea bass. It came out on a bed of mushroom risotto. This meal was awesome. My friends said what they had was good but I forgot what they ordered. Service was excellent as well.

This might be one of the best rooftop experiences I have had in my life. I appreciated the whole vibe from the old Gatsby-esque elevator situation to the food. We had suitcases which were handily stored for us in a closet at the elevator transfer station (amazing). Food was 10/10 I got the french onion soup and the boneless spare rib. Spare ribs melted in my mouth and fell apart with the touch of a fork. French onion soup was solid. Wish I had stayed longer on the top floor for more drinks, but I will be back.

The views were impeccable and the food was delectable! My friends and I really enjoyed our brunch experience here during Memorial Day weekend. I've been to Perch one other time for dinner, but I must say that the brunch is even better.

Perch is located inside the Pershing Square Building. Take the elevator to the 13th floor. From there, if you're dining, take the other elevator to the 14th floor, or head to the 15th floor if you're going to the bar. My party had a reservation and arrived a little early, so we waited in the bar area on the 14th floor. The restaurant is beautiful, from the chandeliers and furniture to, of course, the city views. For a Wednesday, the restaurant was extremely busy and service wasn't the most attentive, but it was still good overall. On a less busy day, I imagine it would be better. The steak frites were great. The steak was flavorful, the sauce was good, and the cheese truffle fries were amazing. I also really liked their Sunset Spritz from the cocktail menu. There are lots of photo opportunities as well. My group got to enjoy the beautiful views and weather from sunset into the nighttime.

l've been wanting to try this restaurant for awhile. We finally got in and I think it was worth it. The service was great and the food was amazing. We had the preset menu. The starters especially the Pork Belly and the baked Brie were super yummy. My short rib was absolutely melt in your mouth. The sea bass was also a winner. We had the White Chocolate Bread Pudding and the Chocolate Pot de Crème. Both were delicious. I am usually do not like to eat outside because l am a clean freak and don't like bugs sharing my food. However, I was pleasantly surprised at how lovely it was up on the roof. No bugs in sight. My only one suggestion is that a purse hanger or stool would be nice. Thank you.

I came from San Diego to meet some family I had in town. We decided on Sunday brunch at Perch. Parking is available at several lots downtown. I paid $15 and walked maybe two blocks. They paid $10 and parked practically right next door. The restaurant I believe is on the 15th floor and the bar is on the 16th floor. I ordered the eggs Benedict. The family ordered french toast and shrimp scampi. I will say this, for me.. skip the food. Just go the 16th floor and grab some drinks and enjoy the view. My eggs Benedict had zero salt, no flavor what's so ever. Was that even hollandaise sauce? Definitely not for me. The French Toast my cousin enjoyed but you can't really mess up French toast. My other cousin thought the scampi was just ok. We had some mimosas which were solid. They did have live band (small) and the singer was good. After we finished we ventured up 1 more level. It was hot outside. Barely anyone there so we found some seats with umbrellas. Very nice view and the drinks were good. Pricy but good. We sat and had a good time. More people started coming up and we noticed they started checking ID's as you got off the elevator. Nice music playing. It was...A Vibe!

I forgot to take a picture of the food, but I got the shrimp salad and it was delicious. The dressing was the perfect flavor. I ordered a virgin espresso martini, and a virgin piña colada. The martini was a perfect sweetness, but the piña colada was a little too sweet for my taste. The service was great, and the bartenders were really nice! The view on the roof rooftop was beautiful and we got to watch fireworks.

I personally love the Perch and my favorite is their steak and frites that I always end up ordering each and every time. The vibes are obviously immaculate because of the rooftop view and they'll sometimes have a band playing as well. Drinks are also pretty potent which is always a plus in my book. The only con about this restaurant is that service can be a hit or a miss from time to time, hence my 4 stars. Don't forget to ask for a blanket if it ever gets too chilly while dining out in the patio. It's a nice touch!

My wife and I went here for our 27th wedding anniversary. PROS: Cool setting in location to get to the restaurant. You have to go up to the 15th floor and you have a pretty good view of the surrounding building buildings. The decor inside the restaurant is pretty interesting and nice, given in an old school field. The outside patio area had nice seating and again offered pretty good views all the way around. The drinks that we ordered were OK nothing spectacular but solid. We both enjoyed the food that we got as well. We had the tuna tartar, appetizer and French onion soup, both of which were good. We also got the filet mignon and ribeye steak. Both steaks were cooked perfectly and I appreciated that the ribeye was not too fatty. The potatoes that came with both were good as well. We ordered the white chocolate pudding cake as a dessert which also was also good. CONS: I had made a reservation ahead of time and specifically told them that it was our 27th wedding anniversary. I was not expecting anything spectacular but maybe just some kind of an acknowledgment that we were celebrating that. Yet, nothing was said. We arrived 20 minutes before our reservation and sat in the bar area, which was fine. When we finally got our table, it was located on the side of the building, which did not offer as nice of a view as the other outdoor seating areas. While we were able to go back to the host and ask to sit in the more open patio area, the fact that we were sat where we were originally considering it was our anniversary was not OK with me. When we finally did get our seat, it was a half an hour later, but we understood that because we had requested a table change. Once we were seated, it took the waiter at least another 20 minutes to even come over to our table to take our drinks and appetizer order. In the meantime, while we were waiting during that 20 minutes, a second couple had sat down right next to us, and they had their waiter come up and take their drinks and appetizer order while we were still waiting to even see who our waiter was. When our waiter finally arrived, he was definitely not into it at all as I had to ask him for his name and if he was in fact, our waiter. When the drinks and appetizers arrived, it was delivered by somebody else. It was at that point that we placed our dinner order with a second waiter. At no point did anybody tell us that the waiter was going to change. They just did it without saying anything. We waited another 15 to 20 minutes for our meal to come out which has mentioned above, was solid and the saving grace for all the waiting around we had to do. The staff there seems almost borderline annoyed, leaving us with a feeling that they were there to tolerate us and not provide a great experience. Again, very disappointing seeing as how this was our first time here and wanted it to be a place that we could return to again. Given our experience this time around with the staff, not so sure that we will be heading back down there anytime soon. Finally, the location. It's located in downtown LA, which can always be a challenge getting there not to mention the sketchiness of the area. We decided to valet park our car just because we didn't wanna be walking around on the street outside the building. All in all, while the food was solid, the second seating that we received had good views, the overall experience was one in which we are not sure we will go back, mainly because the service was below average, which in my mind is totally unacceptable giving the prices you're paying for the drinks and food.

Got surprised for my birthday here and it was amazing! Service was incredible and server did not mind my drunk flirtation comments. But I assume she gets that all the time. We had outdoor seating on a hot day but they made sure we got a ton of shade. Good for big groups or even a date. All the food was amazing. Bread pudding is a must!

Wow. We checked out this place a year ago for future reference and the future is now. We were intrigued by the greenery on the 15th floor visible from Pershing Square and had to take two elevator rides to get here, but it is worth it. Beautiful setting, fabulous views, great service, and incredible food. I had a My Fair Lady, a twist on a cosmo, plus a grand marnier served in okay glasses. My husband and I shared the baked brie with a flaky crust and quality melted brie. My lettuce cup salad came with a perfect, large grilled salmon, moist and tender. My husband's beef was perfection itself. Even on a Wednesday, the place was very popular, especiallyl for their happy hour 4 to 6. A pleasant upscale crowd enjoying the views on a warm May evening made for a memorable meal.

The ambiance has a perfect speakeasy vibe with its dim lighting and relaxed atmosphere, making it an ideal spot to just hang out and grab a quality drink. The cocktail program here is absolutely phenomenal. I am pretty picky when it comes to whiskey, and since Manhattans are my absolute favorite, my expectations were high. They mixed an incredible Manhattan that was perfectly balanced with the right sweet vermouth, and their Old Fashioneds are crafted with an attention to detail that really lets the spirits shine through. We also ordered a few Paper Planes, and they were dangerously good, hitting that perfect sweet and sour note that makes you want to immediately order another round. It is not just the incredible drinks that make this place stand out, but the exceptional service from the bartenders. They are super knowledgeable and treat craft cocktail making like a true art form, all while keeping the vibe laid-back and welcoming. If you are looking for an unmatched whiskey selection and a fantastic atmosphere in Los Angeles, this place is an absolute must-visit. Easy 5 stars for sure.

Having been here many times over the past decade, I've discovered some great bourbons, scotches, and had some great cocktails. But those days are unfortunately in years past. In a place that prides itself in its whisky, the bartenders are sorely lacking in their knowledge around their own bar. With an extensive selection, I don't expect them to know everything, but bartenders not knowing what is meant by a neat pour (straight out of the bottle into the glassware, no ice, and not mixed) was unexpected. I'm getting the impression that while they still mix old fashioneds, a scotch such as Ardbeg is now an unusual and baffling request. I've been here a handful of times in the past few months, and it can be lively or dead, but it's now just any other bar. If you want a fun cocktail you can find anywhere else, this place will do, but unfortunately it's lost what has separated this bar from any of the other bars in dtla.

This was the last stop in a night where Conrad and I stepped out to LA to have a good time. So by…read morethe time I got there I was tipsy. I was not falling down the stairs, nor was I slurring my words, nor was I misaligning my pool shots, but I was definetely feeling the good inside my blood. I note this, not to highlight my cool factor as if I was a frat bro in a Florida party school, but more to describe how my experience was fogged by my consumption. This place was definetely a hot spot to hit, but I just will not be able to descrbie everything with speicifc detail, more, broad strokes of a good time. The place is reached by going down a flight of stairs, which feels like one is going to catch the J line in New York. I think I felt this more because of the Spring St sign- a famous stop in NY, NY. As soon, I got there, the goal was to continue the good time and this place allowed that at a reasonable price. They had these can drinks that I really responded and they were only 7 dollars. Ok, I know that saying something is only 7 dollars in this economy can seem out of touch. But a drink in LA most of the time will run you at least 12 to 16 dollars, and I think it is mostly on the 16 side. So finding a 7 dollar drink in a hot spot is refreshing. It was a Suncruiser- a vodka spirit based drink- that was part of their specials for their night. maybe is more expensive on other nights when it is not on special? After the drink Conrand and I stepped into their floor. It was the first time we were there and it is basically a basement game room on whatever it is that Bane takes to make himself go from puny human to muscle-on-muscle-on-muscle villain. There is a lot of pool tables maybe like 5, and I saw ping pong, and other table games. Additionally, instead of a speaker or a recorder- the one's that spin old timey records- there was a band. I took a short video of the band but I could not tell you if this band was good or bad or their name or their style of music. I was partly present, and I just heard the music, I did not appreciate the performers. It happens. So Conrad and I play all the time together. And I saw a guy playing by himself. We quickly introduced oursevles and then we played pool. Here is the thing that I am happy to write about this place. Unline a regular bar with a pool table, where every one knows your name, this place had the opportunity to meet new people. And I enjoyed playing with this guy. He was a new challenge. He had fresh stories. And he offered a view of the world I enjoyed. So this place offers the opportunity to meet new people over a game of pool. If pool is your thing than this place will make you happy an if pool is your way of meeting new folks then this place will make you happy and give you opportunities to find the folks you imagine you need in your life. In the final analysis, I want to go here again, and experience the place more broadly. Not sure if I will write a new Yelp, because even though I bared bone this one, it still gives the primary messages I want to. And to the guy who I played with thanks for having a good time with me, even if it was short. And sometimes, short, can be just enough.
