Favorite rooftop and view of DTLA. Food is delicious. Yes it's expensive, but it's to be expected. Just be prepared to pay $18 for a tequila shot. The views get more beautiful as the evening goes on. Hostess was a little rude when I asked to move tables. Our waitress was nice, but disappeared before we were done. Didn't tell us if she was going on break or went home.
Been to perch several times and I've always had a good time. The steak frites has always been my favorite and hits the spot each time. The filet mignon is cooked right and the fries with the truffle sauce are very good. The bacon and mac n cheese is really good and has the right amount of cheese. The ribeye is good too but I'd rather get the steak frites. The burgers at perch are pretty hefty in size and are packed with flavor. The ambience here is really nice as it's a rooftop restaurant on the 15th floor as they also have a rooftop bar on the 16th floor. I've been here during the day and night, but the night usually tends to be better. The overall view of DTLA and overseeing Pershing square is cool to have when dining. Getting reservations here is relatively easy and I'm glad they're open late (1:30 AM on some days). Service here is good. Definitely worth visiting. I usually just park at the Pershing square lot as it's just a walk across the street from the restaurant.
For over a decade I've always relied on Perch as my go to spot in downtown between this and the Biltmore hotel Pershing Square is a great place for a leisurely romantic themed hang. This restaurant has two different cultures daytime brunch in the sky and nighttime date night. It's a great blend of architecture atmosphere for this high volume. High energy exciting space. The great servers are well trained at high volume so are the hostesses and hosts who see you and know the lay of the land. Their is a no-bs attitude to the host stand which is not as welcoming as one would like especially on a date night. Perch is notorious for being backed up due to their 'elevator sitch' so just know that the reservation time you have made and the time you are called to be seated can be upwards of 45 minutes later. But the rooftop and bar area are perfectly positioned for those who are waiting. The lower energy bartending staff seems very over-it but I blame the sadly-entitled clientele for this! However, The food we had made up for all of this though and was truly wonderfully made. The charcuterie was one of the largest in the entire city. The salad with salmon was perfect to split, and our awesome server was able to do so between two plates. I loved the Chicken Supreme. And our beautiful sorbet Treo to accompany it. This is a great date night place however think early think Sunset if you would like a more European urban vibe because as the sunsets this place becomes very very different. The patron go from sipping champagne in the early afternoon to downright loud and very trashed at night many patrons loudly. The trending but the very unaware habit of loudly FaceTiming one's friend for the duration of their meal with no regard whatsoever for any other diner, will sadly be unchecked. Also, as it gets even later, the client tell switch is entirely to what can know cannot be any better described than as 'ratchet'. Perch loses it luster, and it becomes a holding pen for cat fights, and potential nighttime brawls but if you're celebrating an anniversary through it in the early. And a larger baby shower should ONLY be during the brunch hours of the beautiful daytime. Thank you to all that do make Perch wonderful we have and will continue to go to your beautiful space. We will and have continued to recommend (and still warn) people about this place for a decade. The great parts of Perch are still very much what makes DTLA a great experience in the sky. Wonderful venue for drinks and French cuisine. The menu is focused on French inspired cuisine but adapted for the American palate. The cocktail menu is fine and had something from each of the major alcohol categories. Many visit for the view and rightly so. Arriving just before sunset is a perfect time to take in the downtown skyline. The main dining area is two floors below the rooftop on level 13 so if you want to see the highest vantage point head over to the roof where you will find a bar and patio tables and chairs. Parking is valet.
This place was a pleasant surprise. I was downtown for the monthly art walk and wanted to go to the Sister restaurant but it closed. I'm so glad it was closed because this might be my new favorite location. The ambience on the rooftop was perfect with a live band. The city views are just gorgeous and would be a perfect Sunset cocktail location. The food was amazing but our waiter definitely seemed like he was not interested and wasn't really attentive to us. I would go back during the daytime or closer to sunset to see the city views. Overall the food and location are nice. Staff could be friendlier but gave off an overall air of "we're bothered we have to work at all".

The cons: The food was mediocre at best, especially for the price. The truffle fries were lukewarm and soggy. The braised short rib was grossly unflavored. The chicken had good flavor but not a lick of salt. The broccolini was also not enjoyable. I barely ate my food, and it was not worth taking home. Also, I put in the reservation that it was my friend's birthday. We asked to split the check which she didn't. Then I had to track down the server to have her send over the birthday treat. This place has a lot of potential, especially for a date night. However, the food has a lot of room for improvement.
The decor is old world , sea shanty style. It has a nice roof top section that allows you to downtown from the 15th floor. It's a nice view. Parking was a bit of a problem so I took advantage of the valet service. 17.50. For valet. I ordered the Chilean sea bass. It came out on a bed of mushroom risotto. This meal was awesome. My friends said what they had was good but I forgot what they ordered. Service was excellent as well.
This might be one of the best rooftop experiences I have had in my life. I appreciated the whole vibe from the old Gatsby-esque elevator situation to the food. We had suitcases which were handily stored for us in a closet at the elevator transfer station (amazing). Food was 10/10 I got the french onion soup and the boneless spare rib. Spare ribs melted in my mouth and fell apart with the touch of a fork. French onion soup was solid. Wish I had stayed longer on the top floor for more drinks, but I will be back.
A long time friend treated me to a birthday dinner here and it was lovely. The view of LA from the 15th floor is impressive; go up one more floor after dinner and you're at a rooftop bar. Both my friend and I ordered the Chilean Seabass. The Seabass has a nice thin layer of crispy skin; without compromising the silky buttery texture. They lay it over a creamy risotto and baby carrots. The garnish on the dish is set nicely, and very reminiscent of under water foliage. A nice little reminder that just a few days ago it was swimming amongst its native vegetation. For my dessert I had the Almond Cake with a side of their vanilla ice cream. My only qualm was the wait time to be seated. My friend made reservations for 8:00 pm, we got there at 8:04, with the hostess crowded. We understood it was busy. We were asked to wait at the bar and they would call us. It wasn't until 8:40 that I asked about the reservation. A bar back mentioned that we're suppose to receive a text message. We were a bit bothered that the text wasn't mentioned. Aside from the miscommunication the dinner was amazing.
Perch is located inside the Pershing Square Building. Take the elevator to the 13th floor. From there, if you're dining, take the other elevator to the 14th floor, or head to the 15th floor if you're going to the bar. My party had a reservation and arrived a little early, so we waited in the bar area on the 14th floor. The restaurant is beautiful, from the chandeliers and furniture to, of course, the city views. For a Wednesday, the restaurant was extremely busy and service wasn't the most attentive, but it was still good overall. On a less busy day, I imagine it would be better. The steak frites were great. The steak was flavorful, the sauce was good, and the cheese truffle fries were amazing. I also really liked their Sunset Spritz from the cocktail menu. There are lots of photo opportunities as well. My group got to enjoy the beautiful views and weather from sunset into the nighttime.
l've been wanting to try this restaurant for awhile. We finally got in and I think it was worth it. The service was great and the food was amazing. We had the preset menu. The starters especially the Pork Belly and the baked Brie were super yummy. My short rib was absolutely melt in your mouth. The sea bass was also a winner. We had the White Chocolate Bread Pudding and the Chocolate Pot de Crème. Both were delicious. I am usually do not like to eat outside because l am a clean freak and don't like bugs sharing my food. However, I was pleasantly surprised at how lovely it was up on the roof. No bugs in sight. My only one suggestion is that a purse hanger or stool would be nice. Thank you.
I forgot to take a picture of the food, but I got the shrimp salad and it was delicious. The dressing was the perfect flavor. I ordered a virgin espresso martini, and a virgin piña colada. The martini was a perfect sweetness, but the piña colada was a little too sweet for my taste. The service was great, and the bartenders were really nice! The view on the roof rooftop was beautiful and we got to watch fireworks.
Who doesn't love a good meal & a good deal!? Went to experience Dine LA to experience their friday lunch 4-course prix fixe at $45 per person. Such a great value!! The truffle fries are absolutely delicious and they complement the steak so well! I just wasn't too crazy about the charcuterie. They should switch out the bread and either give crackers instead or in addition.

I personally love the Perch and my favorite is their steak and frites that I always end up ordering each and every time. The vibes are obviously immaculate because of the rooftop view and they'll sometimes have a band playing as well. Drinks are also pretty potent which is always a plus in my book. The only con about this restaurant is that service can be a hit or a miss from time to time, hence my 4 stars. Don't forget to ask for a blanket if it ever gets too chilly while dining out in the patio. It's a nice touch! read more
Wow. We checked out this place a year ago for future reference and the future is now. We were intrigued by the greenery on the 15th floor visible from Pershing Square and had to take two elevator rides to get here, but it is worth it. Beautiful setting, fabulous views, great service, and incredible food. I had a My Fair Lady, a twist on a cosmo, plus a grand marnier served in okay glasses.My husband and I shared the baked brie with a flaky crust and quality melted brie. My lettuce cup salad came with a perfect, large grilled salmon, moist and tender. My husband's beef was perfection itself. Even on a Wednesday, the place was very popular, especiallyl for their happy hour 4 to 6. A pleasant upscale crowd enjoying the views on a warm May evening made for a memorable meal. read more
Wife made us a reservation here since we were going to be downtown. We dressed up to come to this restaurant based on other reviews.... Ok so first no dress code you can literally come in pajamas so no dress code. We did the 4 course meal and this was really good I did the chicken supreme and it was delicious! Dessert was also delicious! For drinks I had a old fashioned with whistle pig 12yr and this was so smooth! Service was ok not that attentive from the actual server the staff that was picking up plates and serving the food was on point but just for a heads up for anyone coming here for the first time like we did, they do charge automatic gratuity for any party size. The views were basic nothing great around that area as far as scenic just other high rises but other then what I mentioned this is a great spot to visit once for the experience ! read more

This place is amazing, great views, great service and phenomenal food. It's on the fifteenth floor and you can see the entire LA skyline. Their service is very fast and the servers are super attentive. The food is also really good. The Chilean seabass melts in your mouth and the seasoning is perfect. They have a huge selection of wine and alcohol. read more
The views were impeccable and the food was delectable! My friends and I really enjoyed our brunch experience here during Memorial Day weekend. I've been to Perch one other time for dinner, but I must say that the brunch is even better. read more
I came from San Diego to meet some family I had in town. We decided on Sunday brunch at Perch. Parking is available at several lots downtown. I paid $15 and walked maybe two blocks. They paid $10 and parked practically right next door. The restaurant I believe is on the 15th floor and the bar is on the 16th floor. I ordered the eggs Benedict. The family ordered french toast and shrimp scampi. I will say this, for me.. skip the food. Just go the 16th floor and grab some drinks and enjoy the view. My eggs Benedict had zero salt, no flavor what's so ever. Was that even hollandaise sauce? Definitely not for me. The French Toast my cousin enjoyed but you can't really mess up French toast. My other cousin thought the scampi was just ok. We had some mimosas which were solid. They did have live band (small) and the singer was good. After we finished we ventured up 1 more level. It was hot outside. Barely anyone there so we found some seats with umbrellas. Very nice view and the drinks were good. Pricy but good. We sat and had a good time. More people started coming up and we noticed they started checking ID's as you got off the elevator. Nice music playing. It was...A Vibe! read more

PROS: Chilean Seabass was rich and silky and the risotto under it was creamy, good main dish. Ahi Tuna tartare was also good. Desserts were also good I enjoyed the bread pudding the most! Whiskey sour cocktail was good (wish it had a bit more foam on top). Friend's main dishes also tasted good (steak frites, little bunny frou frou, gnocchi pesto). CONS: I did not like the seating we were put in outside, it's the back area near the exit of the restrooms, feels cramped and away from the more open seating area or the inside. Felt like we were eating the restaurants food but away from the main venue. To my right is the city view but most of my view was staring at my friends against the brick wall. Service was slow and if it's busy I understand, but it took 20mins to order a drink then another 15 mins for the drinks to arrive, and THEN they said one of the drinks was unavailable. Food did not take as long but it's easier to wait if you at least have a drink to sip on. I don't usually order French onion soup but this was insanely hot to eat even after 15mins it was served, cheese felt like play dough did not eat much of it. Personal side note: Glass tables always show smudges and don't look good imo. Overall: Main dishes were great, service was slow but nice, sidewall seating sucks, if you can - try to sit inside or right outside near the couches. P.S. Valet was $20 read more
Perch sits (as the name implies!) atop a classic old office building across from Pershing Park in downtown Los Angeles. Sweeping views of the park and downtown. Opens at 4pm for Happy Hour, and 5pm for dinner. The menu is French inspired. The wine list is impressive, the cocktails well crafted. Service was quick, efficient, and friendly. Our dishes were delicious. We went midweek and it was busy. Reservations are recommended, and I can see why. read more

Such a great brunch experience at Perch! The atmosphere is beautiful, especially with the amazing views of Downtown LA, and it's the perfect place for a relaxing weekend brunch. Everything we ordered was delicious and beautifully presented. The food was fresh, flavorful, and the drinks paired perfectly with brunch. What really made the experience stand out was the service -- everyone was welcoming, attentive, and made sure we were taken care of without ever making us feel rushed. Great food, beautiful views, and a wonderful atmosphere. Definitely one of those places where you can sit back, enjoy the moment, and have a really nice brunch with friends or family. We had such a lovely time and will absolutely be back! read more

Perch LA is definitely a restaurant with a view. From the live music to the rooftop city lights, the whole place had such a fun and vibrant ambiance. The staff were friendly, bathrooms were clean, and the rooftop after dinner was the perfect spot to hang out with a drink and enjoy the LA skyline. Cocktails were a great start to the night. I had the Summer Solstice - bright, fruity, and dangerously easy to drink. Hubby ordered the Otto, which gave old fashioned vibes. For starters, we shared the surf and turf skewers and French onion soup. Both were delicious, though I do wish the onion soup came with French bread to soak up all the cheesy goodness and flavor. For entrees, the Chilean sea bass was moist, flaky, and seasoned really well. The boeuf bordelaise was very tender, though slightly on the dry side. We ended with their famous bread pudding dessert and it absolutely lived up to the hype. Overall, such a great spot for date night, drinks, dinner, and rooftop views in the city. read more

Got surprised for my birthday here and it was amazing! Service was incredible and server did not mind my drunk flirtation comments. But I assume she gets that all the time. We had outdoor seating on a hot day but they made sure we got a ton of shade. Good for big groups or even a date. All the food was amazing. Bread pudding is a must! read more
What a great experience They truly know how to make your birthday feel special. I came here to celebrate my birthday on a busy Saturday night, and from the moment we walked in, the ambiance was amazing and everyone was so pleasant. We had reservations for 7:30pm, arrived around 7:15, and were seated almost immediately. Our waiter was incredibly nice and accommodating, especially when it came to adding an extra person to our party. I know a lot of restaurants aren't always willing to do that, so it was very appreciated. We also mentioned it was my birthday, and they truly went above and beyond to make the night special. We started with an appetizer, but unfortunately I think it may have been forgotten because we never received it. I was honestly really excited to try it, but even with that small issue, I still wasn't disappointed with the service at all. For drinks, I ordered the spicy margarita and WOW--it did not disappoint It had the perfect amount of spice and somehow made the margarita even better. For my main dish, I ordered the ribeye with potatoes, and when I say it was amazing, I mean it. The steak was packed with flavor, cooked perfectly, juicy, and not dry at all. Easily a 10/10. I was so full I couldn't finish the last piece, but my brother-in-law happily took it because it was just that good At the end of the night, they brought out a glass for everyone to cheers to my birthday, along with a candle to celebrate me, which was such a sweet touch. Everything about the night felt special and memorable. I honestly wouldn't have wanted to celebrate any other way. This was my first time at Perch. I didn't have dinner. I went to the top and had drinks. They were made to perfection. Fascinating views all over LA. It cool vibe. There are some couches and chairs to sit. First come , first serve. It can be packed there . I was able to gets seats when I went. The only bad part was the dirty bathrooms. read more

My sister-in-law was in the city for a class on Saturday, so I wanted to treat her to lunch for her to actually see downtown. I thought, what better place with a lovely concrete jungle view (hah). We arrived around 1:30 ish and it was a little busy, but we were seated right away on the outdoor patio. She was in awe of the lovely aesthetic and the view. We ordered almost immediately. I went with the Noix de Coco cocktail and the Smoked Salmon Benedict, which came with potatoes. Everything was fantastic. My sister-in-law kept it simple with a sweet tea and The Perch Burger. She loved both the burger and the fries. I've been to the bar at Perch about four times with my husband, but this was the first time trying the restaurant for a meal. The food did not disappoint, and the vibe is just as wonderful during the day, although, nothing beats the view of the city lights at night. Perch has been on my to-go list for so long I couldn't recall why I added it. We came here for an early pre-show dinner on a warm afternoon. We sat outside in the patio and the shade wasn't fully effective in blocking out the setting sun. The service was really good. The waitress was attentive and our water was constantly being refilled. We chose a few of their most popular dishes and we all enjoyed our food. The steaks were cooked perfectly but the cuts were good but not great. The frites were not the greatest. Maybe it would've been better if it was a little more well done. we thought maybe just having it plain would be better. But we enjoyed our food and our time at Perch. We did try to go to the bar but you have to be 21 after 6pm so we took a quick look and headed to Grand Central for some ice cream for dessert! read more
