Pizza is good. I'm laying in bed attempting to eat the wings...or should I say "things." Things molded around a bone. Meaty gooey fat shaped like a wing with sauce. This is my "goto" pizza and typically order the exact pizza everytime. Thin crust veggie with 1 meet, usually italian sausage or pepperoni along with a salad and piece of chocolate cake. This time I just wanted something to snack on so only ordered pizza and dessert. The pizza quality was really bad.. I really felt like the quality tasted like a cheap frozen pizza. Pepperonis is a solid pizza spot in the Montrose area. They have above average pizza with a nice crust and fresh tasting toppings, cheese and sauce. The pizza is more New York style. I would give the pizza a 6.5/10. We did a large order for a party recently and our order was not put in correctly even though we ordered days ago. Therefore it was delayed by an hour or so. Thankfully Pepperonis management gave us a coupon for 3 small pizzas in the future to make up for this. The wings are very small in my opinion and not the best I've had. The garlic bread and mozzarella sticks on the other hand are very good. The garlic bread has the perfect amount of cheese and crisp and paired with a tasty marinara sauce. The delivery is beyond subpar. I should not get a call from the delivery guy asking me to meet him on the street because he's too lazy to walk to our front door. Also, he didn't even bring us the correct order. He forgot our drink and asked if we wanted him to go to the gas station to get our correct drink order. How do you respond to that on the spot? The attitude with delivery has happened to us multiple times. FInally decided to give this little joint a try since it's close to the casa and I wasn't impressed by the quality of the food. It was a little on the dry side but the combination of veggies worked together well. They delivered 15 minutes ahead of the time they anticipated. This place has delivered to my house tons of times before. Now suddenly tonight they say "we don't deliver to "that" area anymore" (since we've picked up the Galleria). My house is less than 2 miles away from Pepperoni's but since they are now delivering several miles away (at the Galleria), they have decided to drop our "developing" urban neighborhood. Not bad! We stopped in for a pepperoni slice, and we ate it at the counter. I'm from NY, and it is really hard for me to find pizza in Texas. It's like trying to find great tacos in NY. This had a good, thin crust, but not too thin. There was ample pepperoni, and the cheese was good. The sauce could have been a little sweeter, but overall it passed the test. It was cheap and fast. Great calzones and the marinara was perfect (generous amount on the side for dipping). The calzones weren't overly baked like some places nor swimming in juice like places I've had. They give you two ingredient choices on the calzones plus ricotta and mozzarella. Order was correct and warm. I really enjoyed their pizza since they have opened. It was always delivered in a timely manner, and they didn't seem to skip out on the "extra cheese" once you ordered it. It seems though lately Pepperoni's has lost its way. My last couple of orders were delivered cold, and the ingredients seem to not be loaded on the pizza like it used to (hard to explain, but it's not the same IMO). The straw that broke the camel's back was last night. I ordered wings and pizza, and both came to me in a timely manner (45 minutes, ZERO COMPLAINTS about that), but the pizza's quality was below par. Some of the toppings have slid off the pizza, and some of the slices barely had cheese (which is shocking because I ordered extra cheese). After a couple of slices, I decided to toss it and just eat cereal. I'm a huge fan of Pepporni's and I hope to one day it will become my default pizza ordering place again, but the lack of quality with their pizzas have dropped dramatically.
