There are some standards that are non negotiable, not once did we get a water refill, or any plates cleared for nearly an hour while those around us were served after us. When I asked to speak with the manager and asked to just pay what we owed for the 2 drinks and apps, there was no apologies, or off to recover. They've got some work to do. We had a large party (23) there for Mother's Day and everyone thought their food was meh. We sat in the patio area and had wonderful views of the water and the boats. Our waitress was amazing and super helpful. We loved her energy and she was very kind. I had the sundried tomato artichoke omelet. Everything was dry. The potatoes were shriveled up and the filling in the omelet was just thrown together. This was mass produced and looks like it sat under a heat lamp for quite a while. The taste was very bland. The warm bread and muffins were good. The sourdough rolls were delicious. Coffee refills took a while. We paid $20 for 4 hours of parking but I was told that nobody checks and if they do, it's not sent to the DMV and people throw away the tickets anyway. Service was ok but got worse as we went on. We ordered 3 coffees and 4 drinks. We saw both sitting a few feet away for over 7 mins ( at different times ) and was only given to us after we asked. The coffee was cold and they made a new batch. The food took wayyyyyy too long and when it arrived our food was cold. Fries cold and hard, hash brown soggy and cold, brought some dishes wrong, burgers cold. They were EXTREMELY under staffed for a plates that was not even busy. Ahhh Coronado, how I love thee for thy beaches and hotel del, but your food can be a little pricey! My wife and I went here for a lunch date on a beautiful sunny day. The parking lot is small, but there were a few 2 hour parking spots left around noon on a Saturday. The receptionist was friendly and we were seating right away (we had a reservation). Our server was very professional, prompt, and gave us good recommendations. The view of downtown was fantastic! Probably the best thing about this restaurant. The restaurant decor itself was quite modern with upscale with plenty of indoor and outside seating. They also had a Christmas tree inside, which was a nice touch Our food came out at a reasonable rate with the appetizer coming out first. The fried shrimp was cooked perfectly and were fairly large. They came with 3 dipping sauces: one was tangy and salty, one was sweat and sour, and the middle was like condensed milk. I'd say it was a little pricy at $3 a shrimp, but still good nonetheless. The pasta was handmade and very flavorful, although the shrimp needed a bit of salt. The fish and chips were crispy and moist, can't complain. French fries could have been crispier. All in all, enjoyed our lunch and would definitely recommend this place for lunch. We will definitely need to try their dinner someday. read more

We came here to take in the views of SD from Coronado. This restaurant offers beautiful views of it. There was plenty of seating so we scored windows seats. We were greeted and our server was very pleasant. He was very attentive. We had come from the beach so we ordered different plates. The calamari was ok and it was a good sized serving. I enjoyed the flavor of the rib eye. The clam chowder didn't wow me. The pupu platter had a variety of samples, good for 2 people since there are only 2 of everything. This is my family's second visit to Peohe's this year. This time we celebrated my daughter's birthday and everyone had an amazing dinner. We personally love their outside deck dining because you can see beautiful downtown San Diego. So even, on a cold San Diego evening with mild fog rolling in, it was beautiful!!! They have amazing heat lamps by the way. Carrie provide excellent service, considering there was a bit of a mishap in the dinner arriving for everyone together. She handled herself beautifully with my family. She had a smile and made sure everyone was taken care of. Essentially, since no manager on a Friday night came out to check on my family of 10. Which was a bit disappointing for an establishment like Peohe's. There were little people in the restaurant due to it being just opened, so everything came out fast. Thomas was an excellent waiter. I remember going here in the 90s before a dance, or for a fancy dinner. Looks kinda fancy inside, views are great... but the food, just wasn't it. We did have a group of 15 when we came here recently. So before we ordered our appetizers the server was asking if any of us wanted the lava cake cuz we should order early or let him know early cuz it takes longer to make. Anyways, we came at 1pm hoping to eat lunch but they were only serving brunch. Ppl in our group who ordered steak medium rare both got their steaks over cooked. One person sent theirs back and the other didn't want to bother. Everyone's meal was just ok. And after our meals were done and the server says your lava cakes will be out in 5 mins. They have indoor and outdoor seatings, we chose the outdoor seating because we have our 18 year old dog with us. The staff is very friendly, they even provided a bowl of water for our dog Bambam. The ordering and the delivery of our food was fast. We had: *POMEGRANATE MOJITO *POEHES BENEDICT *PUPU PLATTER *STEAK & EGGS *MUD PIE I ordered a MANGO mojito, but instead the POMEGRANATE MOJITO came, but it's alright, it's still a good drink. My HUSBAND's PEOHE'S BENEDICT was delicious, there were lots of smoked Salmon on it. My son's STEAK & EGGS was the same as other steak & eggs. The meat was tender and lightly salted. And for me, I just chose the PUPU PLATTER 'coz I wasn't too hungry yet at that time, plus I wanted to try a small assortment of their foods. The PLATTER consisted of a Lobster Roll, a Shrimp Cocktail, Coconut Crunchy Shrimps, Tuna Poke Stack, and Thai Chicken Spring rolls. Among the foods on the platter, the TUNA POKE STACK was the one I liked the most. But the Lobster California roll was so dry that it felt like it wasn't fresh anymore. I was excited to have a reservation at Peohe's on Valentine's Day last night. I have been there before and I like the food and it's very pretty inside. But it turned out to be one of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had. Our reservation was for 945 when I got there a few minutes early I was told they were running 30 minutes behind. After 30 minutes I went to check again and they said they were running 45 minutes behind so in the meantime, I went to the bar with my boyfriend and we were sitting there at the bar waiting to order a drink. After about 20 minutes, I looked at this one bartender who appeared to have a moment and I said can I order a drink and he looked at me and sternly said no! I was shocked he spoke to a customer this way, but I thought maybe he's not a bartender. Maybe he is a far back or something. But still he should have been more polite. Five minutes later, he came up to me and took my order. I decided to let this go. I went to check in again and the hostess told me the kitchen is deadlocked. I said what do you mean? And she said they are pumping stuff out as fast as they can, but I'm not giving anybody an estimate anymore. I said can you give me a ballpark figure so I know if I should stay and wait? And she said you are number six. So we finally get a table about an hour and a half later than we were supposed to. The waiter appeared to be stressed and was not doing a very good job of hiding it. I asked him how his night was. I tried to be nice, but he continued to be rude for the whole meal. I was embarrassed also because this was my first Valentine's Day with my new boyfriend.
