We went over to Pennington's after a former boss had bought multiple cars from them. Because his son wrecked them, not because they were faulty. We ended up buying a Camry and an Avalon. I had their mechanic, Marco, install new timing belts and water pumps right away as a standard procedure. The Camry soon started to have check engine light problems. Chuck took it over to a diagnostic place, paid for it himself and came up with multiple codes. Fortunately, they were easy fixes by teaching our daughter that you need to replace the gas cap when you forget it at the station, tightening up the radiator hoses and I changed the transmission fluid four times in a two week period to loosen up a solenoid inside. There were other fixes over the past couple of years, but that was age and mileage. The Avalon had an oil leak and check engine after a year. Took it back over and it was leaking seals from the timing belt install Marco had performed when we bought it. Fortunately, the repair was cut in half to $140. Then four years ago the check engine came on again. We drove it under the radar, so to speak, without a sticker after paying registration, but because of monetary concerns We couldn't afford to fix it and we stopped driving it for three years. Finally, after being led to Titan Automotive and saving up my Craigslist money in an act of faith I took it over to them for the repair. Turns out the timing belt that was replaced originally and subsequently fixed later had skipped a tooth because it was loose. Titan fixed and replaced the belt, but that eventually cost me $618 for something that should not have happened in the first place. A total of 758. The upside is that we rode bicycles a lot and became quite fit because of it. I have calves you wouldn't believe. We also have a new timing belt that should be good for another 60,000 miles. The downside is that while Chuck and Melissa Pennington are great people who try to sell the best product they can and evangelize their faith through their secular business, the repairs there leave a lot to be desired. And we didn't have use of our car for three years. I would go there again to see what they had to offer in automobiles, but I would certainly go to an outside source for any repairs when first buying a car. Great family run used car dealership! I had been looking for a good deal on an older model used truck for about 1 month before I found Pennington's Auto Sales on CarGurus.com, in my own back yard (so-to-speak)...they were showing a five star review on CG (now I know why). Melissa is absolutely beyond what I would ever expect a typical used car salesman or saleswoman to be...and makes the whole experience fun. The business founder, Chuck, is usually nearby, and he is about as old school as they come...by that I mean that he is a man of his word, and that he considers his integrity to be his greatest asset. Imagine that, in a world where the phrase "business ethics" is considered an oxymoron, Chuck is a great example that you don't have to sell out to be successful in an industry that seems to attract some, shall we say, "colorful characters"?? The business is mostly run now by his kids & grandkids. Melissa's daughter Tiarrah, and Daisy are both a pleasure to deal with, as well as Daniel their main mechanic. Our "new to us" Nissan truck had an issue with the oxygen sensors that caused the check engine light to remain on, as well as a very annoying noise that arose after some improvements were made to the vehicle to prepare it for sale. Although it took a couple of return visits to fix these two issues, I was given a loaner car to use, and I was never given an "attitude" that the issues were an inconvenience to them at all. I would unquestioningly return for ALL of my future car buying needs, and even allow them to locate a vehicle for me if time was not a factor. I will never recommend a dealership other than Pennington's to anyone interested in purchasing a used vehicle. They have earned my loyalty and my referral business for life. Cheers!! Doug C. First, I have to say that this was one of the best car buying experiences I have ever had. I went to their website, found the car I liked and headed over to test drive and talk to them about it. My credit was less (way less) than perfect, but they got me a loan, hooked me up with a great insurance guy and took good care of me. Melissa, in my opinion, is the nicest used car salesperson I have ever met. My car never had any major problems. There was a seal around the moon roof that needed to be replaced and that was about it. It ran very well for the 3 years I had it & I only had to do the obvious routine maintenance. I have read all the reviews and some people sound pretty upset, but you have to remember, you are buying older cars for ususally around $5K. What do you expect? if you buy a car that is 10 years old, you should expect to put some work into it. Also, if you buy a $4K vehicle, you are going to get a $4K vehicle. Mine was an 07 Escape and I bought in 2016 and I had no problems with it at all. I did have to put 2 new tires on it a few months after I bought it, but 1 was my own fault for running over a nail. The people at Pennington & Melissa, in particular, go out of their way to give you good honest service and great financing if you need it. They are especially good if you need to build or rebuild your credit. I have recommended several people to them and I will continue to do so. If I ever need an inexpensive car, i will definitely always start (and end) at Pennington.... They are genuinely good people who really do want to help. read more

I was looking for a used Prius and found lots of options online from various dealerships. Unfortunately, almost all of the dealerships had dozens of terrible reviews on Yelp. Buyer beware. The exception was Pennington's. When I submitted an inquiry online, the owner called and answered my questions. I planned to visit a couple of days later but, after visiting a big dealership (where they tried to slip in $3000 worth of extras on an 11-year-old car), I found myself 20 minutes from Pennington's and decided to drive over. I arrived as they were closing up (I didn't realize they closed at 7pm) but the owner, Chuck, and Daisy, his assistant, stayed and helped me look at cars for an hour past closing without any pressure. This isn't a big dealership like the others I visited. It's quite small but they had three cars that interested me at reasonable prices. I ended up test-driving and purchasing one of them a few days later (after having it inspected by a local hybrid mechanic). Pennington's has been so good to me! When I got my car through them, my credit was bad, after several years of trying tor recover from the beginning of the recession. They made sure to get me in a car and let me know to communicate with them if I ever had to have a late payment. I've had to do so several times and they've always been very understanding.
