This review is for the main service department, not the rapid oil change side. I've been here enough times now, so I can write about what's consistent, and what's consistent is that I have no clue why I even make an appointment or what the VIP service I'm supposed to receive even is. This last time, I arrived for my 11:15 appointment and sat in my car waiting for someone to help me until after 11:30. And there were only two cars ahead of me, but even when I was next, it was still another 5 minutes. I finally got out of my car and stood by for someone to at least tell them they'll be right with me. When they did help me, they didn't even ask if I had an appointment. In fact, this has been consistent. Once they start doing my paperwork, they are friendly and efficient. I've never felt like they're ripping me of or suggesting extra work. Fast forward to when I'm picking up the car. I walk in the other room, which has their little store (and I'm sorry to say, Honda swag is sorely lacking), tell the guy behind the counter I'm here to pick up my car and said curtly says "Over there" and point to other end of the counter, 3 feet a away, turned around and left. Again, another short wait that shouldn't have taken any time at all before a gentleman finally checked on me and got my car. I was there for some 3 different warranty repairs: one was to replace the tire repair kit, another was software-related, and the third had something to do with the front grille. The only reason I point this out is that I only received 1 recall notice for the tire repair kits. While this is on Honda corporate, I was still surprised to be told there were 3 when I arrived for what I hoped would be a quick turnaround to switch out the tire repair kit. There was also a wait to get a ride home because their driver was at lunch. Well, so was I, so I ended up calling someone else so I could return to work, as my car was now going to be there all afternoon. On the positive side, they have free popcorn and Wifi. read more

I brought my Honda CR-V hybrid in for the typical "B1" routine engine oil maintenance. Upon entering the service drive up area, I was immediately warmly greeted by Zachary Nyman. Zachary smiled, asked about my vehicle, wrote up a work order, and showed me the way to the customer lounge area. The lounge area had many comfortable chairs and a few desks for those needing to work. I gravitated over to the free coffee machine and enjoyed a cup while I caught up on some emails. Fresh popcorn was popping in the machine, but it was a bit too early for me to enjoy it. While I waited, Ed (I think that was his name), introduced himself, walked about asking how we were doing, and pointed us to the popcorn. No pressure of any sort...just a friendly host. Later, Zachary came into the customer lounge with a friendly smile and informed my that my oil maintenance had been completed, however they found a nail in my back right tire during the rotation. Zachary let me know they could repair it right away, if wanted to wait a bit longer, and I agreed. Before long, I was called up to visit the cashier to checkout and pick up my vehicle. I was really rooting for Hardin Honda since I've had smooth experiences with the express service before but unfortunately had to write an update after buying a car at the dealership. In short, my family agreed to pay for the vehicle for its promised safety features, only to be absolutely bamboozled into paying for a vehicle lacking said safety features with no compensation. Had we known about it, we wouldn't have gotten the car, and now the dealership will not accommodate for the faulty software in the vehicle that we had nothing to do with. We realized a day after getting the car that it didn't have a working core safety hands-free feature in Apple Carplay, which was a feature that worked flawlessly with the previous Honda HRV model (that we got from Norm Reeves). This was not disclosed to us as we were negotiating for the car. Hardin Honda's excuse? "Yeah, we didn't know about it, either. Turns out it affects some vehicles. Sorry! We'll try to fix it eventually, but no telling when...in the meantime, you're stuck paying for this vehicle." So we were pretty much tricked into paying for a vehicle that has glaring issues with the software. After continuously driving back and forth from the dealership because of this flaw in the software, it's beyond me that we're told to just "deal with it" considering the frustrating amount of time and effort my family put into trying to find a solution to this problem. My tip? Go to another dealership that prioritizes customer satisfaction over sales. read more

I rarely write negative reviews, but my experience with Hardin Honda Service today was unacceptable. I had a confirmed 2:00 PM oil change appointment and arrived at 1:20 PM. We had called beforehand and were told it would take about an hour. Instead, service advisor Juan Ayala told me they were basically done for the day and I would need to leave my car until Monday. When I showed him my appointment confirmation, his response was that "the system sometimes does that." That is not an acceptable answer. What bothered me most was the lack of customer service or effort to find a solution. I asked for a manager and was told Alfredo was the manager and I would have to wait about 30 minutes because he was at lunch. I waited, and no one ever came out. Later, I was told by another employee that Matt is actually the service manager but does not work weekends. Even the staff seemed unclear about who was in charge. Mistakes happen, but poor communication and no ownership are the real problem. Hardin Honda needs to fix its appointment system and provide better customer-service training and weekend leadership. A confirmed appointment should mean something. read more

On Friday, September 11, 2026, my Accord 2017 had AC problem that no cold air came from it. I called multiple car repair stores, all of them required to leave car there in the next week. I cannot do that. I called Hardin Honda, they gave me the appointment in the afternoon on the same day. I drove there and the service advisor Cezar Melena fixed the AC problem right away. I really appreciate Cezar's good job. I like it. Actually, my previous Accord 2005 was purchased at Hardin Honda, and I usually used their services for that car. Updated Review - August 21, 2025 To Roberta Bechtloff or the General Manager at Hardin Honda, Today, my nephew returned to your dealership for an oil change service on the pre-owned 2021 Honda CR-V we purchased. Unfortunately, the visit revealed not only recurring issues but new ones as well: - Recurring Brake/Axle Noise: The rear-end brake or axle noise--previously reported multiple times--is still present. Additionally, a knocking sound when reversing has returned, which your team had already noted in past service records. - New AC Issue: The vehicle's AC is no longer providing adequate cold air, which is unacceptable given the recent heat. This issue was raised during today's visit. When my nephew asked about having these items checked, he was told by someone at your express service desk that: "You had two oil changes from the original purchase and one from Honda. You already used one, and the second free oil change has expired. After this, there are no more free oil changes." He was also told: "If you want the AC checked, you'll need to go to the used car service area, but they'll charge you for inspection or diagnosis." This prompted me to step in. I attempted to reach your service managers, Mike or Matt, leaving a voicemail with no response. After four unsuccessful calls, I finally reached someone on the fifth attempt--Alfredo Mejia--who genuinely listened and took initiative. Alfredo reviewed the VIN and discovered a recall on the AC component, confirming that Honda would cover the diagnosis and repairs. He offered to check the vehicle in immediately, explain everything to my nephew, and even arranged a shuttle for my father and nephew to get home. Alfredo was the only person in your service department who answered the phone and took ownership of the situation. I asked Alfredo to clarify how a free oil change could "expire" when the vehicle wasn't yet due for service. He investigated and confirmed that the claim was inaccurate and made sure the correct notes were added to the vehicle's history. Alfredo Mejia deserves recognition. His professionalism, initiative, and customer-first attitude stand in stark contrast to the lack of responsiveness and accountability from others in your service team. If Alfredo hadn't stepped in, I would still be chasing down answers. To management: - Please ensure Alfredo becomes my point of contact moving forward. - Promote individuals like him who embody leadership and integrity. - Retrain staff who fail to check for recalls or misinform customers about service terms. - Stop deflecting service issues to sales managers who lack context and authority to resolve them. I had three different appointments here, and each experience was frustrating. The staff seemed very unprofessional, and nearly every question I asked was met with, "I don't know." At my first appointment, I waited 20 minutes before someone finally informed me that their system was down and I would need to reschedule. It would have been courteous to notify patients before they arrived. At my second appointment, I was told my vehicle would need to stay overnight, which no one had mentioned when I scheduled the appointment. Had I known that ahead of time, I could have planned accordingly. By the time I scheduled my third appointment, I ended up canceling because the person I spoke with on the phone was outright rude. Writing an update to my review. Hardin Honda Express the last 2 visits have not been the best experience. Pulling into the driveway, I was met with the same guy as last time. I showed the dashboard notification saying right front tire low pressure. It's 11 am and he told me I would be seen around 2 pm. I'm not waiting 3 hours for this. So I go to Hardin Honda and try my chances in the walk ins. Julian, asks me same thing, I showed the notification. And right away he says to turn my wheel and drive up slowly looking for punctures. Quickly identifies it's a nail, and check if there's a leak.
