If you're considering buying a Corvette from DC Motors, do your homework first. Many of these cars come from the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School. Look up videos on youtube. These aren't typical commuter miles, they're accumulated while teaching drivers how to push a Corvette to its limits through hard acceleration, high-speed track sessions, emergency braking, slalom courses, skid pad exercises, and repeated performance driving. While these cars are designed for it and are reportedly maintained regularly, buyers should understand they're purchasing a vehicle with a VERY different history than one driven 11,000 miles on public roads. My biggest issue came after the sale. The car included a CornerStone service contract issued in my name, identifying me as the Contract Holder. After I sold the car, I canceled the contract and a refund of approximately $3,648 was generated. DC Motors kept the refund, claiming it belonged to them because they originally included the contract with the vehicle. I disagree and am pursuing the matter through the appropriate channels. Read every document carefully, ask questions in writing, and understand exactly what rights you have before purchasing. Shame on you DC Motors. Dont be so greedy, Doug. read more

I also purchased a Corvette from DC Motors and later discovered it was used at the "Ron Fellows Performance Driving School" after my local Chevrolet Dealer informed me there was a "Warranty Block" for "Vehicle Modifications and/or Suspected Vehicle Tampering". Also the Warrant Block showed Engine Replacement along with "Valve Lifters, Steering System, and Suspension Restriction". CJ responded that engine replacement is "extremely uncommon", but cars do break, and a new engine isn't a bad thing". I was looking for a Porsche convertible with manual transmission for sometime. As usual I researched on line for many days and discussed with several friends with experience in owning and driving Porsche. One friend told me that DC Motors had a used Porsche for sale. I called on Tuesday at 2 p.m. to come by to take a look at the car. I immediately fell in love with this well-maintained Porsche. It was built in 2009 and had creamy white exterior and tan leather with no frills. It had six speed manual transmission and a convertible with Carrera engine. It was priced at a reasonable $55,900.00. The Salesrep was a young man who works as a nurse who works at a dialysis center. I test drove the car and really liked the way it drove. I told the salesman that I wanted to put a hold on it for two hours so I can go home and return with the funds with my wife. I asked him if I should put money down now, and he said, "You don't have to put any money down now since you already told me that you wanted this car. The car is yours. Let me ask my boss if there's any room for negotiation and I will call you within an hour." I was very impressed by his reassurance and kind gesture of holding the car for couple of hours and offering to negotiate for better price for me. I went home excited and spoke with my wife. She was also excited and agreed to purchase my Porsche. At 4 o'clock we were ready to go to finalize our purchase. I was still waiting to hear from the salesman for the final price so I can get a cashiers check. He didn't call. So I called this salesman at 4 o'clock. He answered my call. I asked him for the final price. He said "Hi, the car just sold." I couldn't believe what I just heard. I was stunned. "What did you just say?" I asked incredulously. The guy told me bluntly, "The car is already sold." I asked him what happened, and he said "As soon as you left at 3 o'clock, this guy came and bought the car with cash and paid in full." I asked him "What happened about me placing a hold on the car!" He had no answer and he just hung up. There was no sorry, remorse, apology for reneging his promise to put a hold on it. Two days later after I shared my nightmarish encounter at the DC Motors with my buddy, Randy and he told me that his neighbor friend just went to DC Motors today and bought the same car. Apparently the car was never sold. For two days I was under the impression that I lost a great opportunity for the chance of getting my very first perfect car but lost it due to my delays and was very angry at myself, but all along the car was still available. I felt so cheated and mad and humiliated at being lied to by a used car salesman, who had absolutely no morals and lied about everything! I used to think that people are honest and their words meant something. I tried my best to keep my promises at all times because I know that integrity and reputation in your character will be the only thing left when everything is over and done with. This distasteful encounter with two bit hustler of a used car salesman and the D C Motors made me aware that there are a few rotten tomatoes still thriving in this modern age of openness and easy access to social media that are available to check up on comments made by cheated customers like me such as Yelp. Yelpers and my Mukbang Friends: Be Extremely Careful when you plan on dealing with this used car dealership like DC Motors, and its shady salesman with less integrity than a snake oil salesman or the grifter in chief. On the first of May, I called DC Motors about the availability of certain inventory: a 2013 Mini Cooper JCW GP (a popular model among Mini fans, a car that never stays on the market for long). CJ told me to come down and check out the car, and when I arrived informed me that someone out-of-state had just placed a deposit on the vehicle. CJ, with a warm handshake, with a willingness to answer all my questions, commanded the gentle conviction of exuberance. During the short test drive it was difficult to hide my fondness. He seemed to sense it and, after returning, promised that if the deal happened to fall through, I would be the first person he would contact. Well, over five days passed, the car had been removed from the website along with other public listings, and I moved on. But one afternoon, two weeks later, CJ left a voicemail regarding the Mini and, thoroughly in disbelief, I found myself placing a deposit on the car first thing that next morning. Even though he could have made more money from one of the many inquirers, he stayed true to his word by calling me (a student and part-time worker, an idealist) first. THESE ARE BEAT UP TRACK CARS LOADED WITH PROBLEMS DOWN THE ROAD!!!!! I bought a C7 corvette from DC Motors 1.5yrs ago, and it has been nothing but issues since, starting right away within a week of owning it. If you want to know why they fall apart so quickly, it's because they spend the first 5-10k miles getting the crap beaten out of them on the race track, in the scorching heat in Nevada at the Ron Fellows PERFORMANCE DRIVING SCHOOL. That's right, people rent these cars, race them, launch them repeatedly, shift them poorly, drift them and spin them out into the dirt as they learn how to drive these cars, before going back to their cars. All you have to do is any quick google search to see the beating they get before being sold dirt cheap to DC Motors, before being marked up higher than MSRP of the car new. Lastly, to add insult to injury, because the car was a track car, you lose almost all of your important warranties, as General Motors doesn't want to touch these cars with a 20ft pole after being track cars. No transmission or suspension warranties from the factory anymore, and possibly brakes too. Here is a short list of the problems I've had, if anyone wants pictures, shop records or to talk more, feel free to call me. 1. Transmission issues week 1. Camshaft actuator went out, and there was catching between gears. 2. Radiator gargles, and the car sounds like a fish tank inside. 3. The roof securing points are all mangled from all the different drivers fumbling the roof on and back off. 4. Right rear window seals have dry rotted off from the sun and heat at the racing school. 5. The leather on the dash is peeling up from the sun as well. Stay away, these cars are a total scam and will cost you tons in the long yearn with issues and no warranties to back them up. read more

He told me the vehicle I was looking at was sold but he told me 3 Z06's were arriving soon and got me all the information. I worked with Doug and CJ at D C Motors on the consignment sale of my 2003 Porsche 911/996 Turbo with only 19k miles. It was a beauty in mint showroom condition. We agreed on my minimum price after their commission. They sold the car on the second day it was advertised and I netted $2k over my minimum. I had tried for several weeks selling the car on various sites prior to consigning it at D C Motors. Doug and CJ got the job done! They are straight up honest guys and easy to do business with ... no nonsense and very personable. I had a similar experience 4 years ago when the sold my 2000 NSX on consignment. They sold the NSX within the first week and got me top dollar! Doug and CJ were low key throughout the process and kept up outstanding communication. They had to resolve an complicated error with CarFax. They quickly resolved the issue successfully on my behalf which was appreciated. These guys are bold faced liars. They prey on ignorant customers. I inquired about a vehicle autolist claimed they had on their lot since 11/19. The salesman lied and said it hasn't been there. He even got his buddy to join in on the lie. Carfax doesn't lie. That vehicle has been there much longer than they would admit. Turns out the car is from snowy Minnesota. After 10 years of buying cars from these guys, I trusted them to sell my car and we agreed to a flat fee of 5K. After a couple of months, they sold my car, asked for my account info for the wire. Had they wired the payment( as agreed to in writing) I would have never realized they shorted me $9,000! Instead of wiring payment, they deposited a check and the bank put a 10+ day hold on their check which bounced my entire account. Up until this point, they gave me zero documentation of the sale/justification of the amount they were wiring to me, but only because of the hold I starting asking them for the sales price of my car so I could do the simple math of subtracting the agreed upon flat fee of $5,000. Here's where things get interesting and start to stall out on their end. Over the next 7 days both the salesperson and the owner starting sending me conflicting information, but all of the paperwork confirmed a sales price of $170K. So they owned me $165K, but they only paid me $156K. They have all sorts of excuses, (it's been over a year of trying to collect this money). Their main excuse is that they overpaid for the trade. At first I was told by Doug, the owner, they overpaid because they didn't realize the car they took on trade had been "modified/lowered". That was their first excuse...since then, they moved on to a modified story that the person trading in the car, for his ego's sake needed to get more for his trade to feel good, so they overpaid him for his trade and over-charged him for my car. So after 8 months of this discussion, I had no choice but to go to court (first time ever!) I'm a single father with a 5 year old in Hawaii so going back to CA is expensive and difficult, but we did and with 3 months of notice, certified service, DC Motors didn't come to court. Regardless, the judge had already reviewed the case and asked me for additional proof in court, and awarded me the judgement of 9K. I let DC Motors know, and they informed me they would be attempting to vacate the judgement because they "mis-calendared the date". I feel like they did this on purpose because they know I'm coming from Hawaii. So we were ordered back to court. The same judge heard their case and denied their request and said the judgement stands. So they just appealed it again! I feel like these guys know exactly what they're doing, got caught and with me in Hawaii are trying ever gimmick they can to avoid payment. I would highly discourage anyone from trusting these guys. I am disgusted on so many levels. This is the most unethical behavior and the exact reason why people don't, and should never trust used car dealers. read more
