Went to Pegasus on a Saturday around 12:30 it wasn't as crowded as I thought it would be. We waited about 10 minutes for a table which isn't that bad considering in the spring and summer months when the line is usually out the door. The service could have been a little better, our waitress never came back to us when we asked for water after finishing our coffee. The food was absolutely amazing though. I would definitely go back to try more stuff on the menu. I ordered a blueberry muffin toasted with butter, an egg white omelete with broccoli and home fries. The home fries are in my top 5, the omelete wasn't anything special but the blueberry muffin was the tastiest muffin I have ever had. We stopped by for breakfast on Sunday morning. We got there 10 minutes after they opened and all except 1 table was full. I got the wild western omelette which came with home fries. The home fries were crispy and very tasty. My husband got the corned beef hash and it tasted like it came out of a can. We also got a short stack of pancakes. Honestly I've wanted to try this place for awhile. The other day I checked out people's pictures from here and the food looked amazing. It didn't really translate into the actual food. Our meal was bad, but there wasn't anything special. The food tasted like any other diner food. My main problem was the service. We were told to just take a seat in the back. Then it took awhile for us to get a menu. Another person was seated right in front of us, got his menu, and a drink before a server came to bring us a menu. Then, at the end of the meal, it took a very long time to have our plates taken and even longer time to get the check. It didn't really seem like they cared much about the diners experience here. So when I stepped in and received the menu, I couldn't help but be disappointed because there are a bunch of diners around where I live. I couldn't help but think "oh, I could've just went there..." etc. BUT! that aside, I did read some sparkling reviews about their pancakes and french toast so I decided to be open and give it a try. Delicious! I got the french toast and my friend ordered the banana pancakes. I do remember trying french toast at other diners and those experiences were horrendous. I received regular toast (instead of challah bread) and they were burnt. I could've made it better at home. And trust me, when I say that, it's pretty bad. But not at Pegasus. Both the french toast and the pancakes were extremely fluffy and crispy around the edges. The french toast was made with real challah bread and sprinkled generously with confectioners sugar. It tasted great with their syrup. The order comes with 4 triangles of toast and fills you up nicely. I ordered the french toast with sausages and the sausages were forgettable. They were small and slightly burnt and cold when I got them. I'm the type that can't have a fully sweet meal, so I like to order something salty to go along with it. My friend's banana pancakes were also pretty good. They were fluffy, and the banana taste was prominent. I'm not a giant fan of bananas within my pancakes because I find them a lil mushy and too hot. But if you like that stuff, I imagine it will be pretty good. Service here was okay. Nothing bad to say about it. They were timely, but not super quick, efficient, but not too friendly. It did take a while for our food to come out. Decent price with quality foods. I came on a Friday, at like 2:30PM so it wasn't crowded at all. It was my first time at Pegasus. At first, it seemed like the service was really slow. There wasn't anyone to greet and seat us, and when seated, it took awhile for anyone to approach us to take our order. The menu is a little different from any breakfast diner spot. They offer specialty omelettes. I had the #3 - Bacon, Mozzarella, Tomoato, sans Olives omelette, and came with home fries which was decent. I wouldn't say it was the best omelette I've ever had but at least it wasn't greasy. I also had the chicken rice soup which you definitely can tell was homemade but it was still too brothy and could use a little more flavor to it. My experience, which was not the restaurant's fault, was made more unpleasant when a woman sat in the booth behind me with her overpowering musky perfume scent. I was already feeling the spring allergies and the musk emanating from the other customer did not help at all. I wasn't sure if it was the food, but I had a stomachache half an hour later. read more

CASH ONLY I use to come here when I was a Brooklyn native and I was happy to finally come back after some while but this time I was not happy with the service or food. It was pretty busy when I went for a Friday morning and the hostess either didn't like his job or didn't want more people coming in. We got a table all the way in the back and there was no utensils or place mats, took about a good 5 minutes for them to finally bring them over, then another 5 minutes for a menu and then about 15 minutes for them to take the order. The coffee was warm and the breakfast was not all that great at all. I got me a simple omelette and it was soggy and I hate the home fries it was more like a greasy burnt potato pancake. I gave up on trying to get more coffee cause that was impossible so gave up on that. Only props was the fresh made OJ. That was really good. For two people with basic breakfast coffee and OJ its about $40 which is kind of pricey! Don't forget they only take CASH!! Sucks when a childhood place just starts letting go. read more

Let me start off with we are new to the area and looking for that one breakfast place to be "our Sunday spot". Pegasus is in the running for sure. When my wife, our two year old toddler, and I walked in we were told there would be a ten minute wait for a table. Given that it was Sunday around 10 AM totally acceptable. We asked if we could sit at the counter till a table was ready and received a shrug from the greeter so we took that as a yes. We sat down at the counter area and my wife said we would like coffee and the young man at to counter grabbed two cups and started walking towards the standard coffee pot. My wife then mentioned she wanted a latte so he puts down one of the cups and pours coffee in the other cup. Now he gets points for promptness and efficiency but I had really wanted an espresso shot. The coffee was warm, hot, and a strong taste; it reminded me of the coffee my military grandfather would drink and let me take sips of when I was growing up. My wife got her latte and loved it. A table opened up so we moved to it. The brunch menu was creative but we both opted to get items from the regular menu. My wife went with the waffle with nutella and bananas and a side of bacon. I chose the hash and eggs. The little guy went with one egg. The food came out promptly the waffle looked amazing. My hash and eggs came out smelling amazing. My wife described her waffle as delicious and felt the generous servings of nutella and banana were complimentary to waffle. The hash was on the salty side and if I were normal and had ordered my eggs over easy would have been perfect, but was still very tasty. The eggs were huge and the hashbrowns were perfect. My son stole my rye toast so the fact my toddler ate all the toast should speak volumes on the flavor. He also finished his egg with out incident. All in all the food was delicious. The decor is eye catching and eclectic. The staff was always attentive and steadily cleaning tables to keep people coming in and out. The chef came out and talked to us and others and was genuinely excited to talk about his food which is always a plus. It is a cash only business so keep that in mind. We will happily return, we are not sure if this our new place but it diffently a contender. read more

This is my "go to"place for breakfast or lunch. The Fresh OJ/ Fresh Grapefruit juice combo is awesome. The omelettes are fantastic. I especially love the #7 omelette with avocado, fresh salsa, cheese & bacon. Also, the seasonal pumpkin pancakes are phenomenal. The owners are lovely and they make you feel like family and it's a establishment where everyone knows your name, when you are a regular. That's right - when your Millennial voice screams out "let's try something new in the area... be brave and go to this other diner," then tell that voice to pipe down and go with your hungry gut. Pegasus is always packed, so either get there early or be like me and wake up at noon. The staff is so friendly and on top of getting you coffee, espresso, and food ASAP when you walk through the door. Breakfast is simple but made exceptionally well. We used to love this place when we were back in high school so we decided to come here for brunch. We were seated immediately and the service wasn't all bad. We ordered the chicken quesadilla, 3 eggs that come with corned beef hash, turkey bacon and whole wheat toast. Food review: The chicken quesadilla could have been good if they didn't fill it up with a very salty salsa. I ate most of it, but wouldn't go back to order it again. No complaints about the 3 eggs with the bacon and toast except for the fact that 3 eggs + hash cost around 10.85, bacon was an additional 4 dollars and a simple toast cost 4 more dollars. 18.85 bucks seems a bit too pricey for such a meal especially when the same type of a meal costs no more than 10 dollars in diners around Bay Ridge (example: Hinch's). Coffee was watery and below average as well. Summary: Pricey for below average meals. This review was based on my experience some time in 2017. read more

Super yummy, great diner food. There's a line outside the door on a Sunday morning. That alone speaks to the great food this diner serves up. We had the peaches and cream French toast, a toasted and buttered corn muffin, cappuccino, coffee frappe, and a number 7 specialty omelette. The omelette had bacon, cheese and avocado.
