One of the roomier Peet's I've visited. Needed someplace not too noisy to park for a few hours. Students crowded Starbucks didn't sound too appealing. A bit further down the road on PCH but worth the extra distance. Shared parking lot with other businesses (TJ's, Whole Foods, Blaze Pizza,etc.) but plenty of spots to go around. Lots of outlets as other Yelpers noted. Service was quick and friendly. No complaint about my coffee. Enjoyed having the option of honey and simple syrup in addition to regular sugar. I would come down here again for when I need a good cuppa coffee with my laptop. read more

Their coffee is THE BOMB - the Manager SUCKS. Yesterday I had a less than pleasing experience with "the manager". I come in weekly for my half or pound coffee. You receive a free coffee with every half or pound purchase. I have a TON of those free cards, because if you don't want it immediately they give you a complimentary card to use later. So I ask to double my complimentary cup handing one back to "the manager" to upgrade to a larger size, and usually the clerk charges me the difference somewhere around .17 from the purchased price. NOT YESTERDAY. NO WAY "the manager" was going to upgrade my coffee. She was argumentative and just plain icky about it. When I said, often the clerks upgrade me it and she said well its not allowed, quoting something from the back of the card and then saying "I'm the manager". WHATEVER! Get Over Yourself!! To "the manager": It would have been nothing to you to pour the already made coffee into a larger cup charge me the .17 cents and have a happy customer, but you chose the ugly route. I hope that makes you feel very 'managerial', when in reality it shows that you lack the skills to be a good manager and custodian of customer service and an set an example to those under your supervision in your store. Let me be clear, the rest of the staff here is cheerful and friendly ALL THE TIME. Last time I came was probably an off day for the lame she-barista. Hence a new review is in order! I came by because I was at the gym, needed caffeine, and had my peet's card - all criteria fulfilled for a visit. + Reception! + Check-in deal! + Fun bantering with the lady in line behind me + He-barista also gave her the check-in deal and she was super happy + I think I got her convinced to get a Yelp account + $0.10 off if you bring back your coffee sleeve! The lady thought it was weird reusing a coffee sleeve. Is it?! I went in today to finally give them a try. I honestly wanted to try their hot tea, since I'd heard so much about them, but since I had a Yelp check-in offer for $1 off a holiday coffee, I decided to use it. The store is nice, nestled right next to Whole Foods in the Rolling Hills Plaza on Pacific Coast Highway and Crenshaw Blvd. I told the barista that this was my first visit here and asked what holiday coffee was his favorite. He lit up knowing that it was my first time there and proceeded to tell me about the different choices that were available. Ultimately, I chose the cinnamon hazelnut latte. The drink came out quickly and was very pretty with waves of cinnamon sitting on top of the foam. I like how they don't put the top on your drink, because then you can actually see how pretty they make it before you put the top on and ruin it with that first sip:) The drink was okay. The coffee wasn't that strong which is fine with me. I like my coffee either way. The latte was definitely mild, which I appreciated. I will definitely go back and try something else. I teally want to try the loose teas that they have. There were many good flavors that I saw. read more

The worst customer service. It's not just a one time experience. It's now the 3rd time I get an attitude or feel like I'm inconveniencing a barista with either a coffee related question or really Just being there when they're busy. Today was it. I will not be returning. There were 4 people waiting to be helped and one of the girl's decided to fill a coffee canteen instead of helping us. When the customer behind me asked if someone could help us, she yelled" we're all busy doing something, we'll be with you once we're done" i walked out. I will not give my money to a company who allows this kind of behavior. I don't have a problem making my own coffee, I do, but once in a while i like to give myself a treat and it will definitely not be here. read more

I visited this location several times each time it was worse than the last. This recent visit saw me waiting 30 minutes because the staff FORGOT my order. I definitely should not have tipped before. I always come for the lavender matcha latte and hazelnut mocha. I found the matcha latte to be light and satisfying, a nice alternative to the usual coffee items found here. And hazelnut flavored coffee has always been a favorite choice of mine wherever I go. And the hazelnut mocha here has a fragrant aromatic notes. This has to be the best Peet's location. Everyone here is so friendly, helpful, and they always to a great job with orders. I work next door and I like to go over almost every shift but I haven't been able to for a while because of a bad foot injury. Today while I was at work, one of the baristas (I wish I knew her name) asked me why I hadn't been by recently and mentioned that they've missed me. I explained to her that I couldn't make it over because of my injury. She told me to order my usual drink and she would bring over to me. I've missed getting my daily Peet's fix and her offer to bring it over nearly brought me to tears. She brought over my drink and my favorite breakfast sandwich too. First time here, we told the barista we were wanting to try iced coffee and she recommended iced black tie and the iced black tie coconut. And I have to say the coffee flavor is different than Starbucks and coffee bean! I don't want to say it's better but the flavor is definitely much more palate pleasing. Truth be told, I only visit Peet's a few times a year and I kind of really love that. I like feeling as if I'm treating myself when I come here because the quality is top notch. Their coffee and tea selections are magnificent. Food items include warm breakfast sandwiches, a great selection of baked goods (I can never decide on one) and a few grab and go items. Some of my favorite drinks include: Havana Cappuccino, The Black Tie, Iced Earl Grey Latte (New!) and their Chai Latte is delicious. My seasonal favorite is the spiced cider. I order a large cup with 3 pumpkin bites (get them warmed up). Some notes about this particular location: The Plaza is quite busy. Parking can be a challenge, depending on the time of day but worth the extra steps. The employees are outstanding, friendly and courteous. They seem to enjoy their jobs and that makes me a very happy customer. read more

I musta become hard core over the years cuz today's medium roast Peet's was dang good and caused no acid attack on my empty stomach. Great, because this location is a cute, popular gathering place for locals at the outdoor seating area. Indoors, it's a bit dark & could be a little cleaner at the cream/sugar counter.....or maybe I arrived just after the Sunday morning rush. No biggie. Ooh! I think I've found a new study spot in Torrance! I love the brown wooden tables and the comfy chairs here. It's pretty spacious and clean, and you don't feel crowded or cramped at all. They also play classical music in the background. So, it makes for a good calm study environment. I ordered a Hibiscus Breeze Iced Tea Cooler. It was pretty good and I'd get it again if I wanted a fruity iced tea.My bf had a caramel latte which was also yummy. They were also passing out free samples of their mango freddo which was actually REALLY good! I kinda wished I'd gotten that instead. The only downside is their wifi is only for 1 hour with a purchase. So if your hour is up and you want to use more wifi, you have to buy something else. But somehow my password lasted me a full 2 hours! Woohoo! I hope that happens everytime and it wasn't just a random fluke. read more

Great service came here after eating dinner and before going to the movies , about two weeks ago ? Review is over due . But my coworker recommended the black tie . It was delicious ! Everyone was so nice and you actually feel welcome . I didn't get to try their pastries since everything was basically gone , safe to say they are delicious also ?! Peet's has a special African brew they use for iced coffee. Very strong but tolerable (read: not overpowering like Charbucks) coffee taste. Not bitter. And though I prefer it black, the African character of the coffee flavor stays consistent and up front after adding cream. Drinkable and enjoyable! p.s. No complaints about this Peet's branch. For those not in the know, Peet's is the place to go for bold, strong coffee that also tastes amazing. It's coffee for coffee connoisseurs. One cup of this stuff will keep you going for the rest of the day. As always, the interior is well-decorated and has a great atmosphere with more than enough tables if you want to sit down with a laptop and do some work. Like most Peet's, the customer service is top-notch and the drinks never disappoint. They've never been out of my favorite Peet's grounds, and the location is very convenient. Peet's is definitely my FAVORITE chain coffee shop. Their coffee goes down very smooth, and is JUST strong enough for my liking. I'm a vanilla latte girl, so nearly every time I visit I'll order the vanilla latte and a cinnamon twist. Another reason why I love this location is because their employees are super nice. They always greet me with a warm "hellO! welcome to peet's!" A final reason why i love Peet's is that they don't play the OBNOXIOUS new age pop music that their counterparts play. In mid-week, I'll usually plant myself in the cushy seats from mid-afternoon to early-evening. During my entire stay there, Peet's will only play melodious classical music -- PERFECT for my hard-core study session. loves it! i highly, highly recommend a cup 'o joe at Peet's to everyone! i've already hooked several of my great coffee buddies to Peet's, and i hope that i can continue to spread the word about the good-ness of Peet's. read more

I love Peet's coffee. I was introduced to it first by DH in Manhattan Beach or it Hermosa? Anyway, I like how strong the coffee is and the tea offerings. I had the coffee and nut/fruit scone and it surpassed my expectations. It was much nuttier than I could imagine and just the right crumbly consistency and not too soft. It went great with my very strong black coffee. I prefer the dark warm brown wood interior decor of this venue over the "other' coffee franchises. If money wasn't an issue and there were more locations, I'd be at Peet's every day. read more
