The baristas craft beverages at superhuman speed, especially during peak hours, to meet the demands of both the drive through and in-store orders. They demonstrate an amazing amount of resilience in dealing with difficult customers. That work ethic is palpable. Starbucks offers a variety of colorful, "fun" drinks. The menu marks changes in seasons here in (mostly) sunny California. The architecture features high ceilings, tall glass windows, and spacious outdoor seating. Interior design combines a few cozy armchairs, elevated barstools, and wooden chairs. If you're looking to quietly relax in one of the oversize armchairs with an ottoman, then I'd recommend avoiding peak hours. read more

This Starbucks at 23865 Hawthorne Blvd, Torrance is the best one I've ever been to. I ordered a latte and muffin and asked that it be brought to my table because I walk with a cane and only have one functioning hand. After my order was delivered. I wanted to take the top off of the latte and attempted to do it. I spilled the drink over the table, on my pants, and on the floor. Immediately, two baristas came over, cleaned up the mess I had caused, and replaced the muffin and latte at no charge. I was amazed. The baristas were so kind and understanding, and went "above and beyond" what a reasonable customer would expect. This location was opened recently. There are plenty of tables and chairs to accommodate customers, unlike other locations that offer take-out only service and no seating area. The good: I tried an horchata Frappuccino and a strawberry matcha loaf bread slice. The loaf was moist. I like that the menu is always changing and there are seasonal offerings. The drive-thru line is super spacious and long. It's the longest drive-thru line I've ever seen. The interior had really tasteful art and vaulted ceilings. There's a large outdoor seating area. The bad: The line in the drive-thru moved a little slowly after I placed my order (on a Tuesday close to noon). The loaf could've used more matcha flavor. The interesting: Their current cake pop is unicorn shaped! My daughter would love it. I really like the vibe at this newly opened Starbucks. It's both drive through and sit in, and it's large. First of all, there is a lot of parking. Second, there is plenty of seating, both indoors and outdoors. It's spacious inside. I ordered ahead on the Starbucks app, so my order was ready when I arrived. Staff are friendly. I enjoyed my green tea outside on the patio. There are many tables and chairs. Because the drive through window is a set back a little, you don't need to worry about smelling car exhaust fumes outside. read more

This is one of the newer Starbucks to have opened in the area. Located on Hawthorne Boulevard, just off of PCH, this is a very nice location. As this is one of the newer Starbucks spots, the structure for this business exhibits all of the new architectural designs that Starbucks is currently employing. In terms of this particular location, they have a very nice outdoor patio in the front of the business. There's a lot of tables, and it's a nice airy environment. This location also has a number of tables inside. So, whether you want to catch some air, or just sit back in a temperature controlled environment, this is a great Starbucks to go to. Plus, they have a really large parking lot, so it's easy to find a spot. The other main attraction about this location is that they offer drive-through. So, if you want to keep your car running and stay on the go, you can drive-through and quickly get your drink. The staff here all seemed really nice, as is commonly the case with all Starbucks. Overall, if you want what Starbucks has to offer, and you're in Torrance, this may be your place to go. read more

I'm new to the neighborhood and decided to give this place a try. I can see why it has some 1 star reviews. The staff came across as unfriendly and looked tired, with very little energy or even a smile. Honestly, the energy of the staff matched the boring color of the building dull and not very welcoming. When you're serving coffee in the morning, a little warmth, a smile, and some positive energy can make a big difference. If the staff aren't happy at work, unfortunately, customers can feel it too. read more

I usually do not write reviews for Starbucks since there are so many already, but this location is brand new and very clean, so I decided to share. I noticed that the cup was different from what I usually see at other locations, which I thought was interesting. Maybe this is the new version, but I really liked the design. It felt fresh and cute. I do wish this location were a Starbucks Reserve. It would be amazing to have a Reserve store even here in Torrance. Maybe someday we will get one! read more

Regular here but never again barista looked like she wanted to punch me through the drive thru window when it wasn't even my fault. I placed my order through the Starbucks app in advance, as I normally do, and then entered the drive-thru. Before I even reached the window, I received a notification from the app stating that my order was ready. When I got to the speaker, I let the employee know that I had a mobile order for Elsa. I had to repeat myself, and the employee responded in a very rude and dismissive tone, telling me that they were still working on it and to pull up to the window. When I reached the window, another barista whom I see almost every morning recognized that the order was for me. I confirmed it, and she politely told me they were still working on it. I said, "Okay, thank you," and had no issue waiting. Then another employee came to the window with what appeared to be a very angry attitude and began speaking to me as though I had done something wrong. She told me, "You just placed the order one minute ago," and proceeded to lecture me about not doing that in the future. I immediately stopped her and explained that I had NOT just placed the order one minute ago. I had placed it approximately 7-10 minutes earlier, and, more importantly, the Starbucks app itself had notified me that my order was ready before I even reached the window. She continued rambling, so I chose not to argue and simply let her walk away. She really looked confrontational and honestly I'm not about that life anymore but she was tempting me. The barista I see regularly came back with my drink, and I thanked her. I also asked what was going on with the attitude that morning. She apologized and explained that their system/server must have been slow and that my order had apparently only come through a few minutes earlier. I completely understand that technology can have issues. What I do NOT understand is why the customer should be blamed or spoken to disrespectfully because of a problem with Starbucks' system. I use the Starbucks app specifically to place my orders ahead of time, and I followed the process exactly as instructed. If there was a delay with the system, I would have been completely understanding if someone had simply said, "We're sorry, the order just came through on our end and we're working on it now." Instead, I was made to feel as though I had done something wrong and was then spoken to in an extremely condescending manner. After Fridays experience I won't ever be coming back. Even the Starbucks in the city I grew up in are 1000 nicer and that's in Lynwood. I would think Torrance barristas would be as respectful but I guess not. I should not have to tolerate being spoken to disrespectfully simply because I placed a mobile order and the store's system apparently experienced a delay. Taking my hard earned money elsewhere cuz this place is a joke. Love the large space of the location with tables to work or study and power plugs. Came today to work and at the counter the cashier was detached and unfriendly. Got my order wrong and they forgot an item I ordered. When I asked the staff they said it's coming. The barista was bad and said someone else is getting it. I'm sorry, I don't know what it is with this location but when you go inside it's fine, normal Starbucks, people everywhere, it's loud inside. But the drive-thru is like very unreal and feels like a fever dream lol. Every time I go through the drive thru it's SO! empty, the worker is always singing and so happy to where it's almost uncanny. Not saying that I hate seeing people happy but it just feels like a dream to me. I guess I can say that the workers are happy (only the drive thru workers). This is a nice store plenty of places to sit the only draw back is that it's super duper loud in here. The Music is loud the fly curtains attached to the doors are CRAZY LOUD. Then forget about if the workers start grinding beans it's very loud. But the coffee is good too so that's why I come. The service at this location has been consistently disappointing. Our orders were regularly made incorrectly, and getting them corrected often took so long that I eventually left without my drink. We've stopped going to this location because many of the employees are inconsistent with orders and don't seem concerned when drinks are made inaccurately. Before I had pretty good experiences with this place. The drinks are good and they had workers who made suggestions about about what they're favorite were or how they liked to add certain add-ons to make drinks better. Recently I noticed that there are new workers here who just really don't seem like they want to be working. Today I came in for a drink (hot caramel macchiato) and there was no one before me so it wasnt busy. The worker literally dropped the metal milk steamer cup, picked it up, and proceeded to make my drink without washing it. I didn't think people need to be TOLD to wash things that touched the floor, but I guess not. I come to this Starbucks whenever I go to Best Buy. Usual Starbucks and usual Starbucks experience. The store gets narrow as you walk towards the back near the bathroom. That's also where you pick up your drinks so it can get crowded towards the back. I visited today and saw a really hard working employee. Her name tag says Caitlyn?
