Parking is not too easy. But the rest is great. Relatively roomy. Good atmosphere. And the wifi is pretty fast! Still have the 1 hour limit. The sofa is like an airbag. When someone sits down fast, the person on the other end of the sofa almost fly out of their seat! read more

Great layout, helpful staff, but the infrastructure for my main mode of transportation--a bicycle--is inadequate. There's a very old school rack ( not able to accommodate locking methods to foil modern thieves) and in front you have to park your bike in the landscaping. read more

I guess you could say I'm a Peetnik and appreciate Peet's over any other chain coffee store. This one is really close to family friends in the area and a good spot for me to escape the family around the holiday's when visiting. I love love love this location. The coffee is always on point, consistently good. My favorite is the maple latte (with soy milk) yumm. They have wifi, though it can be a bit slow depending on how many people you are sharing it with. Its a great place for light reading or even studying depending on the time of day. Perhaps what impresses me most about this place is the response I had to a concern expressed to management, Within MINUTES of my email, I received a phone call, apology, and a promise to address it (which was fulfilled). The next time I came in, I was greeted and thanked personally my the manager when she saw my name on the cup. Wow. The degree of professionalism is unmatched. Daniel is a barista at this location and he is "the man with a well calibrated espresso pull." His lattes are the correct temperature and latte has meaning and depth. He works the morning shifts on the weekdays. Peet's should clone him and dispatch his likeness to other Peet's locations in the Bay (particularly in Willow Glen). The only thing I will say is you have to time things right in the mornings here since the line gets long. Parking is hit and miss if you can get in front or have to park at Safeway. Suggestion to management, put at least two more cashiers on and one more barista to keep things flowing better for your wonderful staff. read more

The drinks (e.g. Lattés, etc) at this Peet's are always good, although not always consistent in taste. The parking can be quite difficult at times. But the biggest complaint I have is that this location seems to hire people who would rather chat about their friends or the party they went to last night than help the customers. More than twice, I have stood at the register waiting to order while two employees continued to talk about their friends for a couple minutes. That was all they were doing at the time. I have also seen this occur with the barrista involved - talking to co-workers instead of making my latté. Go to the Dublin Peet's if it's not too far out of your way; it's less than 10 minutes from the Pleasanton store, and has way more accessible parking. read more

Great coffee, wonderful staff, warm & friendly atmosphere. What's not to love about Peet's in Pleasanton? This place is my morning pit stop on the way to work, and occasional weekend haunt. If you like good coffee and haven't tried Peet's, you really owe yourself a treat. The staff can make informed suggestions if you don't know what to get, and they speak "Starbucks" if you want a better version of your favorite Starbucks drink. They also have a good selection of baked goods, as well as healthier alternatives such as yogurt, bananas and a very filling oatmeal with all the trimmings. No sandwichs or other meal-like foods, though. (No, pumpkin bread is not a meal. :)) Although this is a relatively small store (seats maybe 25 inside? another 15-20 outside?), they really know how to move the line along in the morning, so if you are in the rush don't fret. Unless the line is literally out the door, or someone ahead of you is ordering for their whole office, you will on your way with your java in 10 minutes or less. If you want to hang around, though, you might find it hard to nab a table in the morning, especially if you need a work space. (You can try to glare at "occupiers" who don't seem to be consuming anything by the free Wifi, but in my experience it usually doesn't work. Eventually a table will open up though.) I have been going to this Peet's for years, and know most of the staff. More importantly, they know me: my name, my current favorite drinks, my kids. It's a real "Cheers" kind of place. Minus the beer, of course. (Hmm. Menu suggestion...) Gina and the other managers do a great job of hiring and training; the baristas really know their stuff, and are universally polite and customer-oriented. They are totally fine with modifications to drinks (light ice, half caf, warm "hot" chocolate, etc.) Even when an order gets "lost in translation" from cashier to maker - it's happened to me - the problem is quickly and graciously corrected. None of that "No, I'm sure you ordered a ...." stuff that some places give you. The customer is always right at this Peet's. The only negative I have to report is that the Wifi is sometimes flaky, in that getting an initial connection sometimes doesn't work. This happens to be maybe 10% of the time. Trying a different code usually fixes it. Oh, and if you need more than the initial hour, they will give you a fresh code, no questions asked. But please don't abuse this; buy something, or offer to share your table to the cute, bald guy glaring at you. :) Enjoy! read more

I am a regular at this amazing coffee shop and not only is the quality of the drinks unparalleled, but the staff is by far the friendliest crew around. There have been quite a few changes over the years and I think they have a really great group of people working now. Between Ariel and Laura running smooth mornings and Tina and Jessica keeping everything quick at night this group of ladies make up an amazing management team. Gina is an outstanding manager who knows all her customers and takes a genuine interest in them. I go to Peet's because of their coffee, but I return daily because of the friendly atmosphere and all the great workers. Of course Daniel, Erin, Tameka, and the entire crew make this Peet's far better than the surrounding ones. Keep up the great work guys! Parking can be tricky but the coffee is worth it! read more

I have been going to this Peet's for about 3 months. On 23DEC17, I had a bad experience. I realize that time of year is busy but it does not negate the Barista's from calling your name! Why on earth would I give you my name in the first place. I waited and waited and when I finally went to the counter, to ask for my cappuccino (there was a coffee or something there), it was deer in the head lights. I did not have time to wait for a fresh cappuccino but did ask for a refund and I will never go there again! Went down the road to Specialty's the next weekend. I have to say, before moving to the Bay a few years back, I was a Starbucks snob. If you asked me now why I loved Starbucks, I could give you more reasons why I dislike and hundreds of excuses to avoid going into one. That's because I met Peet's. My first real favorite at Peet's was the blended beverages. I don't know why but perhaps because they just taste refreshing or because the ingredients are quality. I eventually graduated to the coffee and I have to say that Peet's really focuses on the bean and the brew. The coffee is crisp and strong which I have no complaints over their competitors seemingly burnt tasting variety. Plus, the pastry selection for breakfast really compliments and completes my morning meal. I have to say now, I'm a Peet's snob as wherever I travel, I seek out the cafe's and coffee shops that brew Peet's. read more

Great hang out place in downtown Pleasanton. The only thing keeping me from giving them a 5-star is that the tables are normally sticky and questionable things adhered to the seats. It gets so busy here that I don't think the staff pay much attention to the cleanliness of the place. read more

I used to love Peets but not so much anymore. I feel like the quality of the drinks has gone down. I've visited this location 3 times this past week and my drinks have all been poorly made each time. The espresso just doesn't taste good, burnt/bitter. I used to be a barista so I can tell when a good drink is made. My mom and friend who also went with me complained about their drinks and that was on two different occasions. Also, Their customer service has not been welcoming. I'd rather drink Starbucks at this point because at least I know the people making my drinks are friendly. read more

If you want the friendliness of "Cheers" in a coffee establishment, this is it! Amazing service, always a warm welcome, and fantastic coffee and tea. The team at this Peet's is also VERY kid friendly - they will lean over to get their order so the kids don't feel ignored, and they have a box of toys to keep the little ones occupied. IAnd in 5 years, my order was incorrect only once. Can;t say that about other coffee places. The individuals who make my coffee every morning are great people. They are friendly and genuine. I like the coffee itself ,my only problem is how much more expensive it is than Starbucks. In these difficult economic times I do find myself at Starbucks over price issues . I always end up back at this Peets over service issues . Anyone who complains about these folks is probably not someone worth listening to . I have been in a large number of coffee shops and these people at Peets are among the very best . There is a natural conflict between customers who want to get in and get out, and customers who are are lingering. Peet's employees handle this better than anyone, even a long line is not a bad wait, and it moves very quickly. But...it is about the coffee, and their medium and darker roasts are the best you can find on the go. If you just want grab a really good cup of company, and get on the road, there is no better place to stop. read more
