It could get loud and kinda noisy during the afternoons when it's quite busy. The one star that I took away is bc WIFI truly sucks... It is adequate for basic functions such as texts/browsing websites, but streaming music/video could be impossible, especially when there's tons of people. Also, it could get a bit chill bc of the A/C, so bring a jacket if you decide to stay for a long time. Overall, good place to get a cup of coffee and get some work done! :) read more

Coffee/Environment/Customer Service: 5 stars This reviewing is solely regarding problems with my purchases and debit/credit cards. My first time buying Peet's I paid with a debit card, which at first was declined. There's no way my card should have been declined, but I checked my balance anyways and there was more than enough. Three more swipes and the card was still declined. So then, I decided to just try another card. Declined at first, and then approved. Later, I went to get gas and it stopped at $2 dollars. Checked my bank balance and saw 12 Peet's Coffee charges for $6.25 each! My bank fixed the issue and it was all okay, but beware! After telling the story to people, two of them have had the exact same problem with Peet's, and someone else has even gotten their credit card frozen for "suspicious activity/fraud". I'm not saying don't go to Peet's Coffee. They have AMAZING coffee.. Just be cautious and maybe pay cash if possible. read more

She obviously hates her job and this place has no need for this type of person. Idk her name but she is some blonde cashier. Either her attitude changes or she needs to be let go. Peet's stuff is more expensive and their drinks come out slower. However, I don't mind - the coffee tastes better and I'm okay with getting my drink a few minutes later than I would at a Starbucks, as long as they make my coffee well. Specifically to this Peet's, however - this place is huge. Tons of open tables and chairs to study at. The workers here are really friendly - the person who took our order also happened to be a Disneyland fanatic, and we had a nice chat about the place as we waited for our coffee. As an added bonus, there is that $1 off check-in offer. Whee! My favorite drink happens to be the white chocolate mocha because it's a wonderful sugary cup of awesome. Coffee is great, doesn't taste burnt like the other place that has the words "star" and "bucks" in it. The only problem is the noise; I came here to pass the final chapter of an online course, and could barely think. The layout of this place is huge and there is ample space for studying, reading and/or chatting with a friend, both inside and outside. (: I'll keep that in mind when finals come up. lol The workers are nicer than other Peet's workers I've encountered before. That's always nice. I've been to other places and.. let's just say.. I'm not going back. I used the check-in offer and tried an iced, pumpkin spice latte. It was definitely different. I like the latte part.. Pumpkin spice.. I come to this location because it's close to my work. The coffee used to be good, the foam was creamy and the sweetness was just to my liking. Recently, the quality of their coffee has gone down, the latte is just so sloppy and watery. But for the sake of the location, i keep coming in with no better choice. Today i went in there and ordered my same latte with same routine: small, hot and half sweet. Later the coffee came out with pretty much no foam and overly sweet. I stared at the coffee thinking that I can even make a better coffee than this by just using my espresso machine at home. The coffee was too sweet, not half sweet as my order at all, it tasted bad, I threw mine away after few sip. Enough is enough, this is it, i'm so over this place. Came here to pick up a few drinks before heading to my sister's house. Their coffees and lattes are pretty good - I prefer them over Starbucks - but I prefer a lot of places over Starbucks. I had a regular latte and I like how it's foamy and creamy and the espresso is smooth and not bitter (like Starbucks - they have ultra strong espresso shots which makes it quite bitter sometimes). My mom tried the Maple Latte - which I accidentally had a sip of and it was very sweet - wasn't to my liking but it did have a good maple flavor. The service was okay - kept me waiting at the register for a minute while the barista refilled the coffee pot....she glanced at me but didn't acknowledge me but it was okay. read more

Peet's coffees and teas are always fantastic, but what warrants this 5 star review? The staff. Always very friendly and helpful. They act like they want to work there and enjoy what they do. A friend and I came in to purchase some of the pre-packaged loose tea leaves and iced coffee. We were told the coffee was on the house because we bought tea leaves! We asked if this was true everywhere and the gentleman behind the counter said yes. I mentioned that I didn't get anything for buying tea leaves at the Peet's at the University Town Center by UCI and he gave me a coupon for a free drink the next time I came in! It's a Peet's. Nothing too special about this one vs other ones I've been to. It Wasn't too busy when I swung by. The interior was clean and there was plenty of seating with tables. I'm in this shopping center ALL the time, and for some reason I never noticed the Peets in the corner! This is one of my favorite peet's locations. There's a lot of seating, inside and out, friendly staff, and a really nice, Irvine-esq atmosphere. This location aside, I think Peet's is a nice alternative to some of the other chain coffee shops out there. I love the selection of teas they have, as well as the variety of pastries and food options. I think that sets Peet's apart, from Starbucks especially. read more

Really? I'm sure there's going to be lots of hate for this, but I just didn't like this place. Maybe I came on a bad day. Usually I get coffee/study/chill at It's A Grind, but it was too crowded to sit down and get any work done (literally zero tables), so I went to the first coffee shop I pulled up on my phone from Yelp. I was optimistic at 4.5 stars. The price: Unremarkable, comparable to IAG or Starbucks. I bought a chai latte, boyfriend got a "pot" of tea (I'll get to that in a minute) and some kind of pastry that the cashier wouldn't identify for him. The service: Equally unremarkable, minus this exchange: Boyfriend: "What is that next to the carrot cake? Not the carrot cake, but the other thing?" Cashier: "You got it! *removes pastry from display case*" what? The coffee: I was here a while, and had a chai latte and a vanilla latte. Both were unremarkable, again, at best. The "pot" of tea didn't fill up the eight ounce teacup that came with the pot. I'm okay with that, but at least to me, a pot of tea implies more than one cup. The pastry was dry. The atmosphere: Average coffee shop decor and clientele. The only significant fact is that there is only free wifi for an hour. Even Starbucks gives away free wifi now! Such a service has come to be an expectation, not an exception, but that is a huge reason I wouldn't come back here. Why would I, when I can get unlimited internet for free at other coffee shops? The cleanliness: This drove the last nail into the coffin for me. I saw several flies inside, and at least an ant or two in the bathroom. Not only that, but there was no toilet paper in the bathroom. This is my Go-To Coffee place in Irvine on my way to work or when i want to get some coffee shop reading/work in. Their lattes are strong, not that weak-willed water mess you find at ur normal sh*tbucks. I have to drink early because if i drink after 4PM the caffeine hits me. Seriously, this stuff is solid. It also tastes like real coffee. WHICH IS NICE. Definitely a recommend when you need ur caffeine fix and are in the area. Its quick and convenient and the staff are nice. I love PEET's coffee. The grinds are always fresh and aromatic. I've never had coffee made with stale/poorly filtered water (like I've had at Staaaarbucks so many times - Especially the one @ South Coast Plaza. That place serves sewer water with coffee grounds in it). Fresh and clean water + fresh grinds ALWAYS makes for a good cup of coffee and is worth the premium price. I think Starbucks has forgotten this. Anyways, the Peet's @ this location is nice. Ample parking, attractive women work here and buy coffee here, the wifi is free, the seats are comfortable, and people leave you alone do whatever you want to do: play chess, use your laptop, do homework, or just sit and stare blankly. Always busy... Which is a good thing, and maybe a bad. Coffee is the best of all the chains, even though it's 20 cents more expensive than Starbucks and 10 cents more than Coffee Bean on average. Pastries aren't as good as Starbucks or the Bean, but their coffee is just too good to pass up. They also recently started to enforce non-smoking for outdoor seating, which is a plus. read more

They serve coffee here, although we ended up looking at the available coffee beans too. In contrast to other drink locations (Quickly, Starbucks, Coffee Bean included), this place provides the drink cups without lids and one has to put them on oneself. They were kind of hard to put on the top but at least we didn't spill them. They accepted my coupon for buy one and get one free with no hassle. The iced milk chocolate almond mocha was way too sweet for me when prepared normally, at least in comparison to a light item. We waited for the ice to melt to get a less sweet taste. The Coffee is hot, but not scalding. Some people like scalding coffee, but I don't. Every time I've come here, my drinks have been the perfect temperature and very flavorful. Even the sweet drinks lime the White Chocolate Mocha taste like coffee which is a plus. The coffee is robust and wakes you right up. I come here nearly every day.
