If I could pick any coffee place to have close to my house, this is it! I love the fact that I can walk down to this Peets with my paper for my morning coffee on the weekends. I'm a fan of the occasional white chocolate mocha and they know how to do it right. Three things make it better than Starbucks (1) It's not overly sweet (2) The barista's stir the drink so the sugar isn't sitting on the bottom like a cruel joke (3) The FOAM!!! WOW, do they know how to do it. I don't know if it's the machine or the baristas (probably both) but the foam is thick and it's actually foam not just bubbles sitting on top of my coffee. Sometimes during the summer months the usual baristas aren't there but the replacements were trained up and are holding their own. A lot of people walk their dogs and have their coffee outside. It's a nice touch that makes it a little more friendly (I think) unless you're scared of dogs including the occasional big dog. My roommate isn't a big fan but I think he just likes froo-froo drinks with lots of sugar (aka. frap's from you know where). read more

When I think of how Peet's ranks on my coffee scale, 0 being "What's the point?" to 10 being "Eek!!", it comes in at a hair-raising "Yowzah!!" The coffee here is seriously off the charts. Don't misread this - I'm not complaining. Not one bit. But dammit all if this coffee does nothing to relieve those sleepy eyes. So enough about the coffee. There's also a fine selection of teas here. The baristas are fairly knowledgeable about the varietal. I asked once, I need something to fix this {points to nose and sniffles}. They were able to suggest something on the spot and it made me feel better the rest of the day. As for the location.. Ideally located on the corner, although parking can be somewhat of a hassle. The interior is a bit small, but still perfect for catching up on some work or a good book. This is a great spot to meet up with friends and colleagues. Outlets may be a bit difficult to find, so I'd suggest charging up your laptop prior to coming in just in case. I've come here a few times to "work from home" and the only downside is that you're alloted only an hour or so free wifi. Maybe there are some workarounds, but it hasn't been an issue enough for me to investigate. Outdoor seating is a big plus, though it can get chilly at times. Quick, friendly service and some mighty tasty coffee concoctions. That's a winner in my book. read more

Usually pretty good coffee-place, but the service was very mediocre, not to mention we got the wrong coffee. We ordered Americanos decaf my, wife is very sensitive to caffeine and she could feel the rush coming on moments after she started drinking hers also the place is pretty nice but very dirty as these pictures indicate. like I said Pete's coffee is typically really a good establishment except this location which has a lot to be desired. read more

I am a hardcore Peets fan since the 80s. I only drink coffee at Peets. I am writing this review so that the management of this location can assure that the little cup of coffee that is served to their clientele is prepared correctly and no shortcuts are taken. A few days ago as i ordered a cup of the medium roast, the barista informed me that i would have to wait for a new batch and i always welcome that. In most Peets the barista knows not to pull coffee out of the bottom unless the full cycle has completed. But that day this rule was not respected and i received a very strong imbalanced cup of coffee that totally ruined my stomach for the whole day. This is a simple thing!! Wait until the coffee cycle is completed and then pour a nice balanced cup of Peets coffee which we have admired for decades. read more

I am a huge fan of Peets coffee and this one does not disappoint. They brew a mean cup off Joe that will satisfy any coffee snob. So much better than Starbucks and Tully's. I usually come here on Saturday mornings when it's nice out. They have a little seating area outside which is a good spot to try and attempt to finish a Saturday sudoku in the Chronical. I give this place 4 starts since their staff can be a little flighty at times. read more

This place is a hot local morning spot. Lines are always long first thing there's always people sitting out outside - be it with their dogs, on a coffee break from work, or just hanging out. The best time to come is after hte morning rush and before lunch...around 10:30-11am. It's right on the corner of the Shops @ Waterford, so it's popular. I don't care much for their espresso drinks, but their coffee is nom; the staff is super friendly, fast, and efficient...everything I want in a coffee joint! I always have an iced decaf coffee and the kids get vanilla milk steamers with whip. Fun for them and a perfect way to start my morning. read more

For me to give this Peets 5 stars is kind of a big deal... when I moved to Dublin from San Francisco, I was pretty sure that I was doomed in regards to having a decent coffee shop to go to. I love my Ritual Roasters, Mojo Bike Cafe, Blue Bottle, etc. Don't get me wrong, I love my Peets, too... I just figured that the baristas, people watching and the location weren't going to be anything spectacular. I'm glad I was wrong. The baristas at this Peets are pretty awesome. They always seem to be in a good mood (which is actually a nice change from some coffee shops in the city), and having fun and generally having a good time. Some Peets locations seem to be miserably slow... but this location is generally really fast with getting drinks made. Also, just like most Peets locations, they have a bunch of seating and a few outlets for laptops. Just don't be a douche and sit there all day on your computer without ordering anything. The baristas probably won't complain, but I will :P And, while I think it's common knowledge, let me just say that Peets Coffee actually tastes like coffee... as opposed to Starbucks that tastes like bland, watered down sugar. My favorite "cold weather drink" is a hazelnut mocha... and my favorite "warm weather drink" is a light-iced caramel latte. Both of which go with the vegan ginger cookie... which I've apparently become addicted to because it actually crosses my mind when I'm at home, which scares me... but it's just SO GOOD. read more

I write this review as I sit here inside Peets taking a break from homework. I love this Peets! Convenient location, of course I love the coffee, and super friendly staff. I had some difficulty with the passcode for their WiFi and they were more than happy to provide me with a new one until it worked. What went wrong all those other times it didn't work? No idea. Does it matter? Heck no! Peets made up for it! Also I'm not sure what it is about coffee shops. I can focus better on doing assignments when I'm here. They should do a study on that. The effects that coffee shops have on grad students in completing assigned work. But I digress. When in need to complete homework or work in general and I can't focus anywhere...Peets is my answer! read more

I love this Peets - I'm here almost everyday & I just love their drinks, pastries (my kids love the butter croissants & chocolate cookies), & customer service. They get my drinks right all the time - can't complain. I like their recent addition of almond milk to the menu & usually ask for that in my macchiatos. No complaints here. They've got shades on the windows to block out the sun and outdoor seating. The tea menu is longer than the one on the wall with the other drinks, so look for a list above the pastries. Someone came by with samples of their new coffee and madeliene cookies to round out the flavor. This is one of the quieter Peet's so you can catch up on work in peace. But it's not so quiet that you feel uncomfortable talking too loudly to your companion. As another yelper noted, the location map on Yelp is wrong. I heart Peet's at this location. It's got one of the best services I have come across. Fast and efficient and friendly to boot. They know their coffee and other beverages and do their best to satisfy your taste buds. Another excellent experience! My wife and I went in for our weekend fix. I was about to order my usual Dark Chocolate Mocha Freddo extra bold, which my wife was also going to order (not extra bold). We then asked about the difference in sweetness between the Dark Chocolate Mocha Freddo versus the regular Mocha Freddo. The female barista, we forgot to get her name, then suggested the White Chocolate version (not on the menu) instead. We took her advice and ENJOYED our drinks! LOVE the Peets coffee flavor!!!! This isn't two stars for the service; the people who work here are great and very conscientious. The two stars are for the quality of the espresso, which has changed from rich, dark and caramelly to strongly acidic ('bright', sour, citrusy). (If you put sugar or syrups in your espresso you won't notice the difference.) Peets in San Francisco hasn't changed, but the espresso in this area of the East Bay has. It has become very acidic. Peets is expanding rapidly and the quality of the beans is not consistent. I have dumped so many espresso drinks from this and nearby Peets that I just stopped going (when they remake the drink for me it's exactly the same.) It's not the way the baristas are making the drinks; it's the beans. read more

I really like how central this location is.. However I wish they had equipment like a toaster or something to warm up my banana nut cake or croissant . The thing is....if i am indulging, I would rather have it warmed up. :) Otheriwise the coffee, service and ambience is great. i always have my coffee meet ups with my friends at this location. Eh, Peets was convenient because my brother lives in the apartment complex next door. On our vacation in California we visited this location a few times mostly because of its proximity. I was really disappointed with my first latte - it tasted burned. However, my husband ordered the same thing that day and his was fine. Maybe mine was just a fluke? The second day I checked in and got the special. It was better but it still wasn't great. If I had to go again, I would but only if it was the only option. The other odd thing is the layout. They have a cash register near the barista and a few near the coffee beans. It was confusing which one they wanted you to use and no one really pointed us in the right direction. I know there isn't much they can do about the layout now but it is a drawback. read more

Yes, oh yes. This is my neighborhood coffee shop. I feel so lucky to have one down the street! I was on a good Lavender Lime Iced Tea kick all summer, which is probably going to be replaced with one or many of their bazillion (so not exaggerating) hot teas this winter. I'm actually excited for it to get cold; damn you Indian summer! The whole place is chill: inside has mellow music and a surprisingly quiet vibe (people are always having tutoring sessions), and outside has the most beautiful trees and quaint tables and chairs. Parking is easy: there's a covered garage on the right, a huge lot on the left, or even little spots along the entrance and exit driveways. Free wireless! If you buy something don't forget to ask for a code from the kind barista... they will print up for you. I know it says free for just one hour, but it has never kicked me off sooo free for forever! The blended Freddos are bomb too. I loved the sale that they had on those on Fridays during one of the summer months. They should do a sale like that again! There we go. 5 reasons for 5 stars. Peet's is Peet's, ya know? The coffee is good, the pastries are fresh. I have yet to have a major miss at any Peet's anywhere. What I like about this Peet's so much is the staff, because they have no tolerance for the idiots they serve. I have seen some nonsense in this location, and the staff makes crazy muppet faces at the dumb customers, while I laugh hysterically (My favorite instance was when a customer picked up my drink, then came back later complaining that her drink was wrong, and the name on the cup wasn't even hers...really, lady?). I LOVE this place. I'm here possibly twice a day. So, if you come by, just look around & you might see me. The employees know ME & not just my drink. They have a great energy going at just about any time of day, where when they see me, they'll wave or sometimes sit down at my table for a convo about whatever. I have my "FAVORITE" employee of the month that a variety of them vie for by making my drink to their own perfection. There have been the rare occasion where they don't make my drink up to par, but they have no problem re-making my drink with a follow-up apology & a FREE drink card for next time. This Peet's is the best one in the area! I definitely recommend it. I've been a Peet's fan for as many years as I've lived in the bay area. The coffee and tea selection is awesome and there's definitely one for every customer. This is a fun place to hang out or catch up on a good book. Although it's very busy in the mornings. BEWARE the lines are out the door. So if you're in a hurry, make some coffee or tea at home, it's usually about a twenty minute wait from 6 to 9 am. I have had some bad coffee experiences at this Peet's. But the baristas are always willing to remake a bad drink, which I love about Peet's. The staff is friendly (friendlier than some other Peet's I have visited in the past) and courteous. They get my drink right and don't hassle me about whipping out my Starbuck$ Duetto Credit Card. No half-caf, flat-foam, quarter-soy, semi-sweet, mochochinofrappachailatte but a cup of black coffee which btw was simply the best cup o' joe I've had since...well this morning when I made a pot of french press for me & the missus. For a Bay Area native like me thats been going to Peet's since the late 70's, it's nice to know that Peet's is giving those under-caffeinated fools from Seattle a run for their money. Definitely one of my favorite Peet's locations. My drink is always made with the yumminess I expect it to be. Definitely a level up from the Livermore Peet's. I'm there almost 5 out of the 7 days of the week, typing away on my laptop, whilst cradling my preferred drink. The staff are amazingly nice and always on top of things. My review is solely for this peets coffee staff's customer service. I came in toward closing time (around an hour before close) & needed to use a restroom very quickly as i was having a difficult time finding one due to the irritating fact that other stores/places in the shopping center area (which i will not point out any specific names..lol) were real uptight with the strict "bathroom f0r PAYING customers only" rule. The closing crew at this peets coffee not only were very kind and nice about allowing me to use the restroom but also were awesome enough to let me connect to wifi & charge the cell phone for a quick few minutes. I didnt intend on purchasing anything but because of the great attitude & customer service i received that evening, i felt very eager to give them a nice tip in the o"l tip jar for the entire crew.
