Clean, and uncrowded (for an early Saturday afternoon), with efficient and friendly service. Man, I love this staff. They are so nice. I just love the environment as well. The drinks tend to be a little too sweet, but who doesn't love sugar with their caffeine overdose? ;) The customers can be a little antagonistic and it's generally pretty busy from opening to closing, but the fact that it's on a corner makes it a nice place to stay and go for studying or hanging out. Horrible customer service, in the past they were great but now this shop has lost its touch. On four separate occasions I've ordered a latte, and 1/2 of the cup was filled with foam and when I ask them about it and to fix it, they look at me and tell me no. Never going back again. read more

Best Peets out there! The staff is so friendly and they always get my drink right, which is has to be since I'm lactose intolerant. I like to go here and work on my school for a couple hours. They offer two hours of free wireless for every visit so it is really nice to just get out of the house and have a good cup of coffee. Their tea is also excellent. I highly recommend their Jasmine Downy Pearls, and they will refill your teapot if you ask them to. Two thumbs way up! read more

Today is Christmas eve, and I wasn't going to be online too much but I felt compelled to write this review. This Peet's location closed at 4 o'clock today, and when I saw the sign my friend and I decided to have our last pumpkin latte before the Christmas eve service. First of all, the latte took more than 10 minutes to make, and we both got very very very sick from the dairy. IF I COULD HAVE PICKED NO STARS, I WOULD HAVE PICKED NO STARS. They do not deserve the one star I was forced to give them. I am an overall lover of Peets; I could do without the overall attitude of staff in their stores, such 'tude. But they make a great product. I had the worst experiences at the Concord store, I had to share. Overall, they are rude, disorganized and need to get their poop in a pile. Unknowledgeable staff and they all talk garbage about each other. The worst however was one morning (2/28/07 @ 7:30am) I went in for a latte--extra hot; that's how I like it. (Side note, I purchased a nutmeg grinder there several years ago, so I own the same one they have in the store). Anyhow, I picked up my latte ( which took forever, since they were all busy talking smack about staff who were not there to defend themselves) and decided to grind a little nutmeg on top. Keep in mind that I own the same one. Long story short, the nutmeg grinder fell apart and my EXTRA HOT latte exploded all over my NEW WHITE SHIRT. Then, the snot behind the counter let out a heaving sign, HANDED ME A RAG (speaking of rags...) and said, "You broke our nutmeg grinder, can you please clean it up?". THEY DID NOT OFFER ME A REPLACEMENT DRINK and my shirt was ruined. I asked to speak to the manager and they all just stared at me, like the mouth-breathers they are! Needless to say, I have never been so upset by a service experience. I will boycott this Peet's and you should too! I'm a local and have been coming here 2-3 times a week for more than 10 years. There are two things that have been consistent. First, the servers are very friendly and if you enjoy a conversation with your server, than this is the place for you. The barista/mixer with the goatee has a constant stream of stories if you're into that kind of thing. I just want to get a coffee and sit down. One server in particular is Tina who comes close to pronouncing my name correctly and is fast. There are of course, the usual old farts gathering at the same table every morning to pontificate about things they know nothing about, but, that's true of every coffee shop I've ever been to. The second thing that is consistent at this Peets is that the bathrooms are always out of something-toilet paper, toilet seat covers, paper towels or soap. Always. Bonus-they don't play the music really loud, which is nice because I don't like my ears ringing after I've had coffee. read more

As a barista at a different coffee company, I understand the workings of a coffee shop and the reasonable difficulties of being a barista. However, every time I visit this Peet's cafe, I am consistently disappointed with the customer service I receive from the employees who work there. During the busiest time of the morning, you can expect to wait 20-25 mins for a simple $4 latte or even a $3 drip coffee. Drinks are not prioritized in order, as there were several customers who received their orders long before I got mine. Also, their mobile order system is not efficient. People who order after you in cafe will receive orders faster than if you mobile ordered 15 mins prior. When the barista finally does call out your order they do not smile and thank you as you grab your beverage, there is no creating that customer connection. Any question you have (is that my order because you didn't say it loud enough or even just asking for a straw) is answered with an annoyed look and a large sigh. In general, I do not find that Peets workers go out of their way to show customers they appreciate their business. As a barista to another barista, your coffee is okay, but you could go a lot further with your service. read more

Okay, the hubby and I are coffee snobs, I am the first to admit. So much so that we have our own commercial espresso machine at home. But when we are out and about, we LOVE Peet's. I am giving only 3 stars simply because on Saturdays, they only use their Garuda espresso beans and it is soooooo bitter that 3 times now I've had to dump it out. I know, I should just give it back to them and get my money back, but ever just really want a great cappuccino and you'll try anything to make a bad one okay? I mentioned to them that these beans are too bitter, as has my husband, and they don't seem inclined to offer an alternative on Saturdays. My solution is that we don't ever go there on the weekends anymore, we'll go to Pacific Bay or Saxby's instead. The staff at this location is terrific, I would give them five stars. And their foam for cappuccinos is close to perfect. I will come back on the weekdays, when they have their other, better beans in the hopper for espresso drinks. I am A Peets coffee fan. The employees and service is fine as well as their product, lattes etc. However, this seems to be a hub for racists. Its the second time a racist incident happened to me at this location, First it was a few years ago, a white woman tried to make an issue of me being there, saying things such as "are you sure you are at the right place" I kid of brush her off, However, today, it took to another level. It was about 11am when i went to get a latte for me and my wife who was waiting on the car for me because our baby was sleeping. I went to the restroom, then i went to the car to make sure of what latte my wife wanted and i came back to order. I waited at the end of the line, and then this tallish obese guy, this blabber mouth was talking to some realtor, and i gather he wanted me to move ahead because he wanted to "talk to her" (sure, hit on her) then i was politely moving forward and he decided, to abuse me and start putting his hands on me, repeatedly, to move me foward, that did it. I told him sternly "that you no need to touch me, do you understand"" the narcicistic bastard, Likely a Trump supporter, dismissively said " yes", To this i loudly and clearly ask "yes, what?" and then the jerk replied "yes, i am sorry" Then i moved to accomodate him, why not? i was gonna get my lattes sooner. Certainly, I consider myself and by others like a very polite person and i look the part. Nevertheless, comming from a poor where the every school recess was a boxing session for the sake of our lunch money, i would have definately messed him up if he would have continued his abuse. It is sad, that the Trump Nazis are running freely and emboldened to abuse non white people in the Bay area @ Peets coffee. I am sure he is a regular there, next time i go there and i find him, i will post a picture of him, so everyone knows who is one of the racist jerks that frequents this Peets coffee. read more

They do a good job here of getting people through the line and getting the drinks made. Drinks are standard Peets fare - good, though I prefer knowing Starbucks only uses natural ingredients. I love the Xiao's blend tea. I'd give it 5 stars if there were more seating inside. read more

I love Peets coffee, it's strong, delicious and always made well but this location is definitely lacking. I come here after school to study and while the employees here are very nice this shop is terribly run! I've come here for a while now and I've seen the manager working exactly once. And it shows. There is always a wait, especially in the afternoons, you may wait in line for almost 10 minutes then wait another 5-10 for your drink. I stopped ordering espresso beverages for this reason. Most times there is only 2 people working with a huge line and a crowd around the espresso machine. You can literally feel.how stressed the staff is. They all try really hard but whoever writes the schedule has no idea what's going on in the store. It's totally a bummer because some of the staff is amazing. Brandon is so friendly and he always does really fun decorations depending on the season and Emerald is always so cheerful and no matter what happens has a smile on her face.
