I found that their new food menu is not as good as their old menu which has made it so I go here less often. The baristas are kind and are able to answer any questions well. I use to love popping into this Peet's location or a mobile order but after today. I doubt I'll be back. I did a mobile order for a medium frappe. Although I did receive a bigger size my drink was made incorrectly. It looked like someone had drinker most of my coffee and it was nothing but the frozen ice on top and some coffee at the bottom... super disappointing! Especially when I get this at other locations it's made so well. Granted I did drink a bit before taking the picture but as you can see that's a lot of frozen ice on top compared to the amount of coffee at the bottom. read more

I'm inconvenienced and disappointed with this experience and it's important that baristas are able to pay attention to drink orders. Ambiance/Vibe: 3.5/5 This Peet's has some areas that are comfortable to relax. The overall seating areas are a little cramped just because of the size of the building. But, I guess they have maximized the amount of seating you can get in the area. When there is a line, it gets very tight though. They also have outdoor seating when the weather is nice. Coffee: 5/5 I have always been happy with the coffee I get here. I usually get a regular coffee and it is always hot. This time my son got a Caramel Frappuccino and he was happy with it. Customer Service: 3/5 The customer service is hit and miss. This time the employee that helped me asked if I wanted a dark or medium roast coffee. I told her medium and immediately she said "We don't have medium brewed. Only dark." So, I just told her I'd have the dark roast. Right before I was helped, I saw her in what seemed like the tail end of some kind of argument with another customer. However, in past times I've been here I didn't have any noticeable experience with the customer service. Overall, I'd say this shop is average. There's nothing special about it and it seems like customer service is hit or miss. But, it's a fine place to grab a cup or hangout for a bit if you want to relax with a friend of loved one. read more

I cannot believe I gave this place this many chances. Everytime I come in here for something, they charge me for it but then they'll come and tell me it's out. Everytime. Everytime for the chicken and waffle- I get charged and then it's out. Pickup for DoorDash- same thing. And they said they can't cancel then order from DoorDash on their end ( everyone else has no issue doing it) so it forces us out to reach out to DoorDash ourselves, which takes forever. today I came in to get a drink, when I came in I stood around for several minutes with no acknowledgment while there were four people behind the counter all with there backs turned to the front counter Chatting away. The barista asked me if I'd been helped and I said no however she could probably tell I was not happy with how long it took to even acknowledge me. Her comment after she acknowledged me was very rude, she made sure it was within an earshot. I walked up to the counter and I told her I heard her comment and I Didn't appreciate it, all they needed to do was just acknowledge that they see the customer and they will be right with them. Pretty simple tip. After I told her I didn't appreciate her comment..... She told me "fine, Next time I won't acknowledge you and you can wait". This coffee shop has been in existence for over 20 years, this is conveniently located in the City of Clayton and Concord border. This was my stomping ground for a cup of Joes for so many years, and I sometimes reminisce how it use to be. Recently, this place has suffered in the service department. Awaiting lines and prolong visits just to wait for your coffee has made me rate this location at 3 stars. I believe that mobile order has been the thing and limited staffing creates long awaited times for your coffee. So my suggestion, use your mobile app and order ahead of time, because if you don't you might wait for awhile. I do like Peet's over Starbucks, however; both are equally on the same price point. Peet's have an array of pastries that are delivered fresh comparable to the other competitor Starbucks. So if you want fresh pastries, than this is the place! Enjoy! read more

I'm a long-time fan of Peet's, and so is my daughter. We've made it a daily tradition to enjoy our afternoon walks together and stop by for our favorite matcha drinks. It's always been a positive experience--until recently. To our surprise and disappointment, the manager at this location refused to assist my daughter simply because she was accompanied by her service dog. This is not only deeply upsetting, but also a violation of her rights. We've never had an issue before, and I expect better from a company that prides itself on community and inclusion. I hope this is addressed promptly and that your staff are properly trained on ADA compliance and how to respectfully treat all customers, including those with service animals read more

Love this Peet's location. Yes it's small, I never go there to sit down, its not really the best place for going to work/study but if you want a nice drink they have it. Customer service has always been good to me and I come here pretty frequently because I live like 10 minutes walking distance. They messed up on my drink once and I called let them I couldn't make it back the same day so I arrived the next day and they kindly remade my drink the correct way. read more

I can count on this location to make my iced vanilla latte great. Donna and the other young lady with the bandana (sorry I don't know her name!) have really great customer service. I've had sweet conversations with Donna about her favorite Peets drink and other things. I like how she is always willing to have a genuine conversation. People like me who go to get coffee on a regular basis appreciate workers like her. The only thing that kind of is a downside is that there aren't much outlets so if you come here to work on some things make sure your devices are all charged up. EVERYBODY...you can use the restroom now! Peet's has allowed people to come inside to enjoy your drinks but only for 30 minutes. I recently came to this location to get a croissant from them. What took me by surprise was that I was allowed to use their restroom to wash my hands and to eat my croissant. During 2020 they did not allow anybody to come inside which I did not blame them. It is better for the company to play it safe than having a crowd come inside and scaring everyone. The service at this location is still great. I was greeted when I enter and greeted when I left. I make sure that the customer come in and leaves happy. When ordering your drinks through the Peet's app your drink will be place on the side with your name on it. No waiting for a barista to ask if your order is ready. Keep up the good work Peet's read more

Today's entitled staff arched over the counter to see what tip I was leaving, and then made a rather rude comment that it wasn't very much. Definitely my go to coffee spot. It can get busy but there's a nice ambiance while you wait. I usually order ahead and 8/10 times it's ready when I get there. I've been coming here for years and it never disappoints. Both iced and hot drinks are delicious as well as the ham and Swiss sandwich and the almond croissant. I love Peets and I'm trying to avoid Starbucks and go to Peets when I get a coffee before work. However, this is the slowest, poorest run Peets I've ever been to. And it's consistently that way. They stack drinks and food that are ready behind the counter. Like if it's ready, put it out. Today I mobile ordered 15 minutes before I arrived. App said 3-8 minutes. I still waited 4 minutes (19 minutes total) and had to ask if my breakfast item was one of many sitting on their back counter. I didn't even order a drink because I just couldn't trust it would be ready. Had to look on yelp to see if it was just a me experience but apparently it's an ongoing issue read more

Here's a time when it would be nice if YELP had half stars. Peets in the Clayton Valley Shopping Center was more than OK but a bit shy of good. I was already in the area so decided to stop in to buy freshly ground coffee. Major Dickason's is my favorite so I bought one bag. I also wanted a bag of French roast. They were out of the French so I went with the Italian. A reasonable substitute, but it seemed odd to me they did not have the French in stock. Always nice to have a complimentary cup of coffee when making a coffee purchase. My main complaint was that the beans were not ground to order. Much finer than I wanted. Baristas were kind, friendly, beautiful, and helpful. The egg, cheese, spinach, bacon frittata was really, really good. Props to the cashier for specifically giving me salt & pepper for it on the side. She had no idea what kind of grueling, heartbreaking couple of days I had been through but her upbeat cheerfulness refilled my weary soul. Latte was solid. Came in tonight after dinner for an iced coffee. I have to stay up and needed something to just keep me up a bit. When I came in the atmosphere was nice. It was sort of soothing and not overwhelming which was nice. I also liked how clean it was inside. There may have only been a few people but don't let that fool you. One because the employees are fast and efficient at their job. And second the coffee is amazing. Today I got an iced caramel macchiato with almond milk. I love that they have the option of different types of milk especially as someone who is lactose intolerant. I got my drink and it was not heavily iced which was my favorite part. The one thing I'm starting to learn is that almond milk is already really sweet. I think I prefer coconut milk in my drinks since the almond makes it to sweet to my liking. Overall great experience! I'm a big fan of the seasonal beverage options. I need more options than the pumpkin spice latte. I had been ordering the vanilla cardamom latte- so good. I like to sit on the patio outside and people watch. I especially enjoy meeting the pups who come and hang out on the patio.
