Loved the staff and the optometrist is one of the best. They called us in early when a cancellation resulted in an earlier time slot. The doctor was thorough (better than the other optometrist that every one in town raves about) and the cost with VSP insurance was half of what I spent 5 years ago at JC Penny. First, the service was great. They were very helpful and the eye doctor was super. The ONLY issue I have is that I got a nice bonus coupon from my eye insurance for $100 off of a complete pair of glasses and Oearl Vidion would NOT honor it even though the coupon was FOR Pearl Vision. read more

Horrible service. They toss documents in the floor, they answer patient calls on speaker phone and leave them on hold while they get a beverage. They bring their grand kids in to tour and walk where they want while you wait. But you have to have a mask because of covid. Makes sense. Someone walks in to pick something up while they are working with you. Then you should expect to wait so they can help them instead of asking them to wait a moment. Then they want to talk about the grand kids before they get back to you. Hope you don't mind the entire room knowing your insurance, cause they will ask across the office. Oh and don't you dare expect them to only show you frames covered by your insurance or even close. They will bring you, not let you look around and pick frames. Probably because they want you indirectly spend more without knowing. Totally legit way to do business. Even after they tell you what your insurance covers. Ask me how many covid rules that they follow that they have posted that states you will "comply" or "submit" to?! Well no one's temperature was checked, and no one maintained 6ft, mask were forced, but you didn't have to have it on properly. Visitors clearly were not limited since the working grandma had her two grand children in and then their dad came to get them and walked through the entire building unmasked. Handed you pens that hand been used and not sanitized but if you touched a pair of frames they have to be cleaned, just touched not put on. And again mask are still a thing even for toddlers. I'd respect it more if they followed 100% their posted Covid guidelines and it wasn't a pick and choose situation. They are not amaze balls. Look at all the other reviews. I called Pearle Vision to get an eye exam appointment, and one happened to be available. Great! I explained that I was on a budget, needed a basic eye exam and pupil distance measurement, so that I could order glasses online. As soon as I said that, I was informed that they wouldn't give me my pupil distance measurement. They didn't want to be 'liable'. Basically, they don't want to help people on a budget and want to ensure that you purchase glasses only from them. I passed. read more

The exam went well and the doctor explained everything thoroughly, however they didn't even start the exam until 45 minutes AFTER my scheduled appointment time. Very frustrating when you're on a schedule and need to be somewhere right afterward. They ended up having to cut it short and told me to come back another day to do get my eyes dialated. read more

I wish I had read the review before going here. My company switched insurances and they recommended Pearle Vision.I also wanted a buy one get one pair. This place was WAY OVER PRICED. Not to mention they made me pay in full when I went to pick up my glasses. I called my insurance provider and asked if this was normal. They told me no, to have the store call them. I shouldn't have had to pay up front and then be reimbursed by the store when they were finally paid by my insurance company. (She's going to send me a check.) It also took 2 and half hours for an eye exam and to pick out frames. Normally the process takes less than an hour. The ladies there were nice but were trying to put me in frames I didn't like and kept trying to get me to buy Gucci which were $390 for just the frames.Try Dr. Randy Watsky, much better experience. read more

I have been going to this Pearle Vision for the last 5 years... I've been to many other Pearle Visions & never felt that my glasses fit correctly or that my vision had improved....I was pressured at other Pearle vision to spend too much & they even convinced me to have lasik - ( which by the way was highly unsuccessful ) dr Birchmeyer has always been very thorough, explained every test that was performed & I never felt pressured by anyone. my glasses fit perfectly & I see so much more clearly - they have a great selection of frames at all costs - no one is forcing anyone to spend more money than they can afford but it's nice to have so many great choices. I love this practice, the doctor & the employees & highly disagree with such disparaging remarks- that's why I recommend this Pearle Vision to everyone. read more

I have gotten several pairs of glasses from here and each time they quoted me a price, made me pay in advance (this is expected) and when I went to pick up the glasses they told me more was due (this is NOT ok and is contrary to the commercials they are currently running). You can't cancel at that point and they hold your glasses hostage until you pay the extra. Plus forget about the "warranty". They will charge you more to have them fixed if you are not satisfied. Again they tell you there is a 100% replacement if not satisfied and hold your glasses hostage until you pay the "balance" when you go to pick them up. I never had this happen at D.O.C. I'm done with them. They are extremely lucky they have not been sued...yet. read more

(6/21/11) I would strongly encourage you to RECONSIDER if you are thinking about giving your business to this Pearle Vision Optical Center. I have been a customer there for several years strictly for convenience purposes however have always been suspicious of the fees they charge. Well this last incident was the straw that broke the camels back and my suspicions proved to be true!. My son was interested in a certain "name brand" frame however after the employee advised us of the price I asked for the model number so I could comparison shop. Well she told me I couldn't have the number it was store policy.Okay, so long story short since I didn't have the number I went back and ordered the glasses (STUPID ME) the price was $502.95, the frames alone were $279.95 and everything else was extras (diid I mention I have 3 optical insurances) I felt pressure from the employee to purchase extras that I didn't even need. After I paid half down and was able to get the model number of the frames and did a price check elsewhere the actual price for the exact frames retail for $135.00 and the store pays $69.00. I attempted to cancel my order but the office manager (who is also the doctor's wife) ignored my phone calls and when I finally did go in to see her this evening basically what she told me is I'm out of luck! This is a "family owned and operated" store and there is no one else to take my complaint to. I am hoping this helps get the word out. Believe me, word of mouth travels and every time an opportunity arises I will be sure to tell anyone that will listen how horrible this vision center is!
