Excellent customer service! I've been getting my glasses from sommerset and southfield, by far This location had the best staff that are genuinely friendly and helpful. No effort in my part to order online because Miranda was able to find the frame that I want. She mentioned the options I needed for my lenses. The price she got is much lower than the quote from sommerset. Without hesitation, she also cleaned and tightened my old glasses. Mostly to come back here for my next prescription glasses or contact lense. FYI: bring your current prescription if eye exam was done somewhere else. A printed copy or screenshot photo will do for them to put your eye prescription in their system. If you have AAA card, show it for possible discount. Make sure to have your insurance information available. Social distancing is implemented. Hand sanitizer was provided. Temperature checked. Eye appointment is encouraged. Walk-ins accepted, just wait...depends On how long the others stay inside. We waited less than 10minutes on a Monday afternoon. read more

LensCrafters used to offer next-day glasses services, but it has now taken nearly three weeks for my glasses to be completed due to multiple delays. Out of desperation, I ordered glasses from an online site, and they arrived in just four days. Shame on LensCrafters for the false advertising. read more

My glasses were broken and under warranty. when I entered the store, Charmanite greeted me very warmly and welcoming. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly she repaired my glasses. The next day I was frantically looking for my wallet and could not find it anywhere. After resolving the fact that I may never find the wallet, I happened to catch up on my voice mails and was estactic to hear that Charmanite left me a message the day of my visit informing me that i left my wallet in the store. It is truly a blessing to have come into contact with such a thoughtful ethical young lady with excellent customer service. Lenscrafters you truly have the gem in your store. read more

Caveat emptor, I suppose, but I was really disappointed when I checked out at LensCrafters today and found that there was a charge for the contact lens evaluation I was offered. I'm sure that if I had been told upfront that there would be a charge I would have accepted it, and gladly paid it, but the fact that I didn't realize that it wasn't part of the package covered by standard insurance was an unpleasant surprise. I will assume the best of intentions and guess that it wasn't intentional, but I certainly left the store feeling as though I have been swindled. I'm locked in to making the purchase of the contact lenses from LensCrafters for this year, but I know where I will not be returning next year. read more

I am giving two stars because the doctor- & the woman who helped me initially- were both very kind & helpful & the technology is great. My issue is I came for a $45 eye exam & was not given the pupillary distance. Thus, when I went to order my glasses from a store that would not total $600 for one pair of specs, I did not have the distance. I called back LensCrafters to ask where I could find it on my prescription & the lady who spoke with me said "pupillary distance depends on the frame. So it depends on which frame you pick here." Which is just a blatant lie (see attached picture...pupillary distance is literally the distance between the pupils. ) If you are going to withhold aspects of prescriptions simply because you want people to pay astronomical amounts for the glasses in your store, then own it- do not be dishonest about it. Especially when google is at the tips of the fingers of your patients. My advice--- go to sams club or Costco for your eye exam. It is not only cheaper but they will also give you the full prescription if you do not wish to buy the frames they have on hand. In fact, you can even bring in your own frames. & they will create lenses for them for about $100. read more

My mom was just off the phone for the second time with this location (12/24/2020 - NOONish PST). She received an email saying that a pair of glasses she ordered a month ago and were part of larger ordered that had been mishandled (insurances billed for frames that were unavailable). She called to speak to one of the managers that she had been triaging the order with. She lives in a part of the country where the nearest LensCrafters is hours away and as a result, has her completed glasses shipped to her at no cost. Knowing that there had already been many issues with the order, my mother decided to follow up on the email with a phone call. The associate who picked up the phone (Miranda, maybe?), started off kind enough, informing my mother that the manager had left for the day. My mother attempted to explain the issue and determine if the glasses were going to Be shipped overnight as previously discussed. The associate put her on hold and then told her that she could pay to have the glass shipped to her. When my mother informed her that there were already solutions put in place for the order and that it would be best if she could either speak with a manager or if manager could call her back the associate told her "not to yell at her." I was listening to the call, and at no time did my mother raise her voice. I can attest to a certain amount of exasperation. This associate seemed to be trying to find solautins to my mother's questions without listening to the full details of what my mother was providing. But at no time, did she raise her voice. The call ended with the associate saying she would call her manager and call my mother back. She told my mother to expect a call back in fifteen minutes. A couple of hours later, no call was received, so my mother called back. She spoke to the same associate, who informed her that she had spoken to the manager and that they would be taking the glasses to UPS for shipping. My mother confirmed the address for shipping with her and thanked her. The associated said thank you and then, probably thinking she has disconnected the call, said, "girl, go to hell." After she said this, another voice could be heard laughing, seemingly in response to her comment. The call then disconnected.I asked my mom if she heard what she said but she stated that she wasn't paying attention. I told her to call the store back as I could not remember the associate's name and would be filing a complaint. Now, our calls are not being answered. I understand it's a busy time of year and situations that deviate from the norm can be frustrating, but this sort of thing is part and parcel of any customer service position. No one yelled at or was rude to the LensCrafters associate. My mother certainly didn't do anything to warrant being told to "go to hell." I find it funny that this associate had the temerity to tell my mother how to behave but then could not hold herself to the bare minimum standards for professionalism. If she cannot handle a relatively simple issue such as this one without feeling the need to personally attack customers, I would hate to see how she responds to other, more complex issues that can sometimes arise in customer service settings. read more

Optometrists are highly recommended, but once you get your exam, TAKE YOUR PRESCRIPTION ELSEWHERE!!! Staff is completely incompetent. I ordered glasses 8 WEEKS AGO and never received them. Tried to dispute the charge and was told I would have to ask for a refund from LC. When I called to determine the status of my order, I was told that the shipment my glasses were supposed to be in did not contain them, and NO ONE EVER FOLLOWED UP ON IT!!! At that point I asked for a refund and received it. Inconceivably horrible customer service. Never ever again. If anyone does not heed this warning, it's on you. read more

If I could leave zero stars I would. This company is absolute garbage. I bought glasses there and within months the protective coating which I paid extra for started coming off! They will not fix the problem! I've had other pairs of glasses for years and never had this problem Update: after response to this post I went to that website and was told that I scratched my lenses and caused the coating to come off. I went to a much better company and they told me the coating coming off was a defect and in fact was not my fault at all. Thanks for nothing LensCrafters read more

The staff at Laurel Park has always been friendly and helpful. Their technology has always impressed me and I've never gotten a bad set of lenses in my 4 years coming to LensCrafters. I don't like their recent operational change where you have to wait up to two weeks for your glasses, where previously you could get them in 1 hour. But that's some way up corporate nonsense and has nothing to do with this store. read more

The customer service at this location is exemplary. My initial visit was good--nice Doctor, friendly staff. Here's where they proved themselves to me though: I purchased a year's supply of contact lenses that they told me qualified for $80 in rebates. Turns out it was only a $35 rebate. When I called to complain that they had inadvertently cost me $45, Amy, the general manager on duty, IMMEDIATELY offered to credit the money to my account. I didn't even have to ask. I've dealt with plenty of companies who would just say "you can't prove it" or "I'm sorry we can't really do anything" so this speaks to me of a store prepared to make its customers content. Spent over 800 dollars on Oakley Eyeglasses and Sunglasses. The eyeglasses scratched within the first week. I believe it was because I declined any "upgrades" on the lenses. I've been wearing glasses for 30 years and not once have I seen such a poor quality lens. Even when there were no "anti-scratch" coatings available. The lenses in the sunglasses didn't really fit either. They regularly moved out of place. It was a manufacturing defect that they didn't stand behind. Now they keep emailing/calling me about the "next" appointment, but I'm not going back again. read more

Wearing glasses for almost 60 years I have seen them all at one time or another. The lab manager here at the Livonia store is top notch! The store was busy today when ordering my glasses but she took the time to give me top notch service. She asked permission to help another customer in a situation only she could resolve. This staff member I am sure is proficient in her skill as a lab manager, but her real value is in supreme customer service. No one has ever earned my loyalty when buying glasses before, but that changed today. I love really spectacular customer service and I hope you give them a try, they work hard for their customers. Sure the price seems good, selection and so on, but customer service is what will bring me back in two years. read more

I recently scheduled an appointment for an eye exam and updated glasses at the Lens Crafters location at the 6 Mile Road location in Livonia. I was expecting the normal retail outlet experience but what I received was an outstanding customer experience. My first step was the information and pre-exam process conducted by Alexa Harb; who was very personable, explained all of the pre-exam tests and answered all of my questions. The exam was conducted by Dr Alicia Zimnicki; who took her time, explained the exam and results as well as answering all of my questions. Then Jessie Lanius took over to help me select the proper lens types and options as well as a no rush selection of frames. She was very personable, thorough and made me feel like I was to most important customer there. This was an outstanding experience beyond my expectations and I HIGHLY recommend this location for your eye exam and glasses. One other note; this group is truly a team and the atmosphere that this location is reflective of a team that really enjoys working together! read more

A great experience on Sunday August 10th. After being totally frustrated with the Lenscrafters in Troy at 14 mile, we went to our local Lenscrafters to get our glasses corrected. We ordered them from the Troy Store and they did a horrible job of getting our glasses right. We thought the prescription was bad but we found out from the very nice young lady in the Livonia store that the alignment was the problem. Both my wife and I needed new lenses and they were able to correct both in (true to their advertising) about an hour. My experience with lens crafters is horrible. I went there to get new glasses, Invisalign. I picked out a pair in clearance then found sunglasses to get as well. Both were in the 60% off. It took 2 hours to get it finished, I mean ready to be orderEd finished. They told me 7-14 days. Ok, I paid almost $600 even with the clearance, which is ridiculous. I am disabled, my income is almost non existent. Those 2 pair of glasses was more than half my monthly income. She folded up my prescription and handed it back, She folded up my script handed it back, I assumed they put my receipt in with it. 10 days later I get the text my glasses are ready, I get there there is only one pair. Where are the others? They will let you know when their ready... 3 weeks, nothing, I have called and left messages, but no one calls back. I went to look at my receipt, I don't have one... I continue to call but no one calls me back. The ones I did get, I have to almost shove them into my eye, look down and tilt my head sideways to be able to read with them, and for the top half I have to slide down to almost the tip of my nose, put my chin on my chest to see anything through them, but I think I see better without them.
