I have driven by this winery many times and finally decided to stop and check it out. We didn't have time to do the whole wine tasting and chose a bottle. Becki helped us and picked a perfect wine for us to share . She was so cheerful and bubbly and we appreciate her enthusiasm. The atmosphere was relaxing and charming. I definitely will try them again.

A wonderful tasting experience at the winery. We retreated from our initial outdoor seating due to a gnat invasion, to a great indoor table. Hospitality was perfect. WHITES: Chenin Blanc and Chardonnay exhibit some nice balance with maybe a slight lean towards the fruity end of the spectrum REDS: Grenache seemed a bit oxidized (maybe a "yesterday " bottle), but I could see it's potential. The Syrah showed much better, with concentrated dark fruit and a lingering finish. Both the Tempranillo and the Nero D'Avola were worthy of attention and subsequent purchase. The Zinfandel was classic old-school Pao zin, with nice black pepper a foil for dark fruit If our cellar was a little more barren we'd join the club

Absolutely lovely place. The staff is super friendly and helpful a definite repeat on our next trip. Live music on Sat & Sun from 1 -4

This place is FANTASTIC! The wine is amazing and the views are phenomenal! I will be back here again for sure.

I came here with some friends, and I'd say it's a decent winery. The actual wines were pretty good, but nothing amazing. The property was really pretty, but a bit outdated. The service was on the slower side, but it was nice being able to walk around between tastings.

Pear Valley is a beautiful hidden estate located a bit off the 46. The estate is gorgeous and the Wine really delicious. The staff was really friendly and our Sommelier Micheal was very knowledgeable and nice. Our favorite Wine had to be the Dos Juntos Red and the Sauvignon Blanc. They give you 5 Wines to taste and wave the tasting fee if you buy a bottle just like everywhere else.Make sure and take time to walk around the estate and take in the beautiful scenery cause it's definitely picturesque.

Brought some out of town friends to this beautiful property for wine tasting. All the wines we tasted we're fabulous. Especially enjoyed the Chenin Blanc, Pinot Noir and Charbono. Was so impressed with their wines, I joined their Wine Club. I would definitely recommend anyone to stop here and taste their delicious wines and enjoy the Italian venue.

Decent wines, but nothing really stood out to us. We went to Penman before this winery and the wines there are sooo good. Felt bad. Simon was really nice though. He was knowledgable. Plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. Looks like you can probably bring your own snacks here to eat. Didn't notice any snacks you can purchase. We had 3:30pm reservations on a Thursday and it was pretty much empty except 1 table. You might want to come here first before going to Penman. The front with the trellis is nice to take a picture. I think it was $15 for 6 wines. Plus we got 2 extra tasting of tempranillo and cab franc.

We came on Thanksgiving weekend and this place was reservation only. We booked the reservation about a week in advance. We were seated right away. There was plenty of space between each table and all servers were wearing masks. The view was nice and the ambiance was very peaceful. I didn't really care for our server but she could have been overwhelmed by the tables she was serving. I would recommend this place to others for the environment. Our tasting fees went towards the bottles which is so nice.

I'll start this review by letting you know we're not big wine folks. Yeah, we drink wine, but like what we like and hadn't found much difference in $10 bottles to $100 bottles. Stopped here for ambiance to do tastings. $20 per person for six pours applied to a bottle purchase. Simon walked us through the generous pours. Ended up with three bottles and absconded with our glasses. Shhh... don't tell them! We'll definitely be back.

Absolutely gorgeous grounds! You get such a beautiful view of the vines being up on the hill. The winery itself is gorgeous as well and it gives a very relaxing vibe. My boyfriend and I did a tasting, so we got to pick six different wines offered on the menu. I was impressed with all of the wines I tasted, they all had great flavors. I ended up buying a bottle of the Tempranillo, Charbono, and the Nero D'Avola. The Nero D'Avola was my favorite! Had a great body to the Italian wine. I would love to come back here! I believe the guy helping us was named Daniel and he was amazing! He knew so much about the winery and was great at answering all the questions I had. Thanks so much!

part of the tasting menu December 2019 - the part we cared most about, the dessert wines!

For our wine tasting side-trip on our way up the coast last weekend, for the most part, for obvious reasons, I prioritized tastings that were complimentary for one reason or another, of which there were plenty. But I made sure to add this one to my list as well, as I had noticed they had several very affordable dessert wines (we're always in the market for good dessert wine), and that the $10 tasting fee was waived with just one bottle purchase. I was pretty confident we'd find at least one bottle we liked. Officially, it was 6 wines for $10 (comped with a bottle purchase), but they pushed a couple extra tastes on us even without us asking for them - we ended up tasting 8 wines, and I will say, they had a couple pretty delicious table reds, too, for the price. The winners were the dessert wines though (well, two of them three) - right now, they have a full 750ml bottle of pretty good dessert muscat for $18, and two ports for $22 each, one being very traditional Portuguese varietal port that we agreed was decent but not exceptional, and one very non-traditional - but extremely delicious - port of cab franc that exhibits such a wide array of spice notes, if they'd told me they actually threw spices in during the aging, I would've believed them. We left with a bottle of that one - we agreed $22 was a steal (not to mention we actually only paid $20, with a 10% off coupon our hotel gave us!) If we hadn't already bought a couple (way more expensive!) ports this trip, we probably would've bought a couple of them. They also had a complimentary meatball pairing! They weren't fancy meatballs (we asked - they came from Costco), but they *had* been cooked with one of Pear Valley's red wines (I forget which one), and again, complimentary, so I was hardly going to complain. Paired pretty well, too. Dunno how frequently they do something like that, though - we could've just gotten lucky.

Always love stopping by when traveling

One of our favorite places to stop by when traveling in the area. Beautiful scenery, and always wonderful tasting wines.

By the end, pretty much everyone in our group had found a wine they wanted to take home--including the ones who swore they weren't buying anything. Dennis, our Tasting Room Host, made the experience. He was warm, very knowledgeable, and genuinely engaging with everyone--from the serious wine lovers to our six-year-old--while keeping things professional and elevated. The whole visit struck that rare balance: polished without feeling formal, refined without ever feeling rushed or "in-and-out." Dennis has been with Eberle since 2017, and you can feel how much he cares about the place. He spoke about the winery with such genuine pride, and as you look around the tasting room at the rows of award ribbons from years of vintages, it hits you--this is a place with real history behind it. That sense of legacy and care is woven into the whole experience. The historic wine caves are a must, the complimentary tasting felt generous and unhurried, and the grounds have that unmistakable Paso magic--rolling hills, big oaks, golden light, and room to breathe. We even crossed paths with Gary Eberle (founder, 1979) and his sweet black poodle, Vieto--one of those authentic, only-in-wine-country moments that sums up the welcoming spirit here. If you go, ask for Dennis--he turned our first visit into one we'll plan future trips around. Good to know before you visit: * Make a reservation--it gets busy * Don't skip the cave tour (you can even taste down there) * Large lawn & games--great for kids and mixed groups * Very dog-friendly * Private, romantic tastings available in the caves * Complimentary tastings + military discount available * Plan to stay a while...and bring your camera :)

At Sculpterra…read more... They are in the business of turning water into wine....... One grape at a time!!! Yeah, I didn't believe it either, but then I saw a sign in their vineyard that proved me wrong. It read: "Water into Wine" And now, I'm a believer! So what brought us to this magical place you ask?? Well, besides the obvious (the wine).... It was the.... ok you caught me!! We came for the wine! Yeah, we were staying at the Ava Hotel in Paso for my wife's birthday weekend (definitely check this place out if you are looking for a beautiful spot to call home away from home) And being that we were in wine country.... We wanted a nice outdoor vineyard where our kids could be outside, run around, and get all of their energy out all while Mommy & Daddy had our own little R&R time sippin' on the good stuff. And let me tell you, it was Good Stuff! When we first arrived at Sculpterra, we already knew the place was going to be a hit as the parking lot was hoppin. And apparently we weren't the only ones that got the memo that this place was THE PLACE to be as it was just a little bit off the beaten trail from where we started out... Approximately 6 miles from "Downtown Paso" (through the city limits, down the 'ol country back roads and suddenly we were in wine country!) Prior to heading to the vineyard, we did a quick pit stop at McDonalds for the kids so they had something they liked. As for me and my wife, we opted to get some of the local fare items offered on site, cause what goes better with wine than a yummy charcuterie board? I'll answer that momentarily! But wait, theres more!!!! Upon finding a nice little table outdoors to sit and relax with our wine chilled in a bucket of ice, there was suddenly music to our ears and Love to my eyes! Yes, there was lovely Live Music being played by a band and out of the corner of my eye, I spotted a food truck serving Mexican Food from a local Mexican restaurant. Remember earlier when I said what goes better with wine than a charcuterie board? Well, if you guessed a little Mexican Food, then you are oh so right, but only in moderation! So in order not to ruin the good vibes of the beautiful vino from Sculpterra, I opted for just one taco and a cup of their poblano soup and man was it fire. The soup was piping hot and it had a kick of spice that made me spice from ear to ear. As far as the wine, the vineyards vibe and the entire aesthetic of the grounds, Sculpterra Winery & Sculpture Gardens (the vineyard was adorned with many abstract and contemporary pieces that are all photo worthy), this place checks all the boxes. The place is kid friendly as there is plenty of space, both indoors and out, with areas for the kids to throw a ball, run around, or even learn to play a g as a game of chess. A decent variety of Reds, Whites, & Blends are all up for grabs, so if you find yourself in Paso Robles with the fam or its just you and your hunny, definitely come check this place out and watch the miracle of them turning water into wine!

Being able to enjoy some of their older vintages this way makes the experience even more special for wine enthusiasts. What I appreciate most about DAOU is how they've managed to maintain a small, family-style atmosphere despite being acquired by a larger company a few years ago. The hospitality still feels personal and genuine. The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, not only about the wines themselves but also about the history of the vineyard and the vision behind it. Dining among the grapevines with their on-site garden, wood-fired pizza oven, and chefs who clearly understand that wine deserves a proper supporting cast is an experience all its own. It's relaxed, delicious, and dangerously easy to lose track of time. Dog people, rejoice: well-behaved pups are welcome, and honestly, it sometimes feels like Cass Winery & AKC Kennel Club (said with affection). Très français, really. Events are another reason Cass stands apart. There's an abundance of them -- many complimentary for wine club members -- and they sell out fast for good reason. These aren't filler events; they're thoughtfully curated experiences, often with meals that turn into memories and strangers who become friends by dessert. Cass Winery doesn't just pour wine -- it creates afternoons, evenings, and traditions you'll want to repeat. We took the Jeep tour with Cindy, which was the highlight of our time there. She gave us an incredible behind-the-scenes look at the winemaking process -- from picking the grapes to pressing and barreling. As we rode through the vineyards, Cindy shared stories of growing up on her family's farm and the history of Paso Robles. We even got to taste grapes straight off the vine to check for ripeness -- such a cool touch! After the tour, we enjoyed a wine tasting, and every wine we tried was excellent and easy to enjoy.
