She was incredibly kind and took the time to explain the entire process to me. Since I arrived close to closing time and didn't have an appointment, she let me know they would run diagnostics on my laptop the following day. There's an $89 diagnostic fee, and if repairs are needed, part of the $89 fee can be used towards the cost, which felt reasonable. The next day, Martin called to let me know there was no damage and that he had cleaned the affected keys. He explained that my laptop passed all tests, but the battery was consumed. When I wasn't sure what that meant, he patiently explained and advised that since the battery wasn't swelling and the computer was still performing well, there was no need to replace it unless I noticed issues. I really appreciated that he took the time to explain everything and didn't try to upsell me. I was able to pick up my laptop later that same day which was less than 24 hours after dropping it off. And because the person that works on your computer is someone with access to the most personal facts in your life, its likely you will be fairly selective. I trust Louis without reservation. He has become part of our family over the years he has been working with us. There is no other service in my life, with equal access that I can make that claim to. One of the things I like best about Louis is that if he doesn't know the answer to a question, he will research it instead of winging it. With that said, there is very little he does not know. As others have alluded, he works in both Mac and PC venues. In a rapidly changing industry, Louis has enormous range and the ability to make recommendations as well as the knowledge of what benefits and pitfalls are associated. They have always been personable, plainspoken, honest and expedient. We dealt with Jude yesterday, who offered us either a Main Logic Board (aka Motherboard) replacement (for a two year old laptop) or to move forward in to a newer computer, at a $200 difference. We elected to purchase the newer computer, (updated processors, faster buses, fresh battery, etc). It was 3PM and they had our data xferred and everything up and running perfectly in two hours.
