Here's the skinny:…read more My elderly mother-in-law lives in Arcadia, and I live in North Carolina. When I lived near Arcadia, I was her "IT Guy." Before I moved to NC, I found reviews of Sam and his service on Yelp, and I filed away Sam's number for future tech disasters. You see, my mother-in-law was never great with technology, and as she ages, technology just gets harder for her. On more than one occasion, she and technology...just don't get along, and everything went FUBAR. Here's where Sam comes to the rescue for both my MIL and me. My MIL can trust that Sam will get her tech up and running, and I, from 3600 miles away, have complete confidence that Sam knows what he's doing and then some. At at the latest tech incident at my MIL's house, Sam went above and beyond the call of duty. The fact that he has great with older folks is a big plus in my book. I know some people might balk at his rate, but you know what, Sam is worth it.

He's a real nice guy, and I'm glad I chose this service. He also took the time to fix my laptop screen and recommended me to get a laptop case to prevent further damage. I recommend this service if your laptop is broken. It's a bit pricey, but worth it. The two photos displays the before and after of the service performed.

She was incredibly kind and took the time to explain the entire process to me. Since I arrived close to closing time and didn't have an appointment, she let me know they would run diagnostics on my laptop the following day. There's an $89 diagnostic fee, and if repairs are needed, part of the $89 fee can be used towards the cost, which felt reasonable. The next day, Martin called to let me know there was no damage and that he had cleaned the affected keys. He explained that my laptop passed all tests, but the battery was consumed. When I wasn't sure what that meant, he patiently explained and advised that since the battery wasn't swelling and the computer was still performing well, there was no need to replace it unless I noticed issues. I really appreciated that he took the time to explain everything and didn't try to upsell me. I was able to pick up my laptop later that same day which was less than 24 hours after dropping it off. I highly recommend Di-No for honest and fast service!

I previously had a great Mac repair experience at this mostly Apple-focused store, so when my…read morechild's gaming laptop failed, I brought it to the Microsoft counter at the back of the store. I paid the $89 diagnostic fee and understood that it would be applied toward the repair cost if I moved forward with the repair. That policy is completely reasonable. After diagnosing the issue as a failed motherboard, however, I was told they could not obtain the necessary Asus part and therefore could not perform the repair. I later learned that an authorized repair provider could obtain the part and complete the repair. My frustration is not that they charged for diagnostic time. My frustration is that no one mentioned before taking my money that they might not be able to source Asus parts or complete the repair. Had I known that, I would have taken the computer directly to an authorized repair provider. The laptop is currently being repaired by Geek Squad. I intentionally support small local businesses, and Di-No is close to my home, so it seemed like a win-win. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. When I asked whether a refund was possible given that the repair could not be performed, I was told no. Consumers should know there is a possibility they may pay for a diagnosis, only to discover that the shop cannot complete the repair and that they will need to start over elsewhere.

Man, talk about a review that's long overdue. And as I sit here considering what to say about this…read moreprofessional service and Louis, the heartbeat of Technolene, I'm getting chills. Do I need to get a life? Probably. Definitely. But he's that good; his character, his knowledge, his expertise and his communication style. I would stack up the professional service Technolene offers against any other in this industry. And because the person that works on your computer is someone with access to the most personal facts in your life, its likely you will be fairly selective. I trust Louis without reservation. He has become part of our family over the years he has been working with us. There is no other service in my life, with equal access that I can make that claim to. One of the things I like best about Louis is that if he doesn't know the answer to a question, he will research it instead of winging it. With that said, there is very little he does not know. As others have alluded, he works in both Mac and PC venues. In a rapidly changing industry, Louis has enormous range and the ability to make recommendations as well as the knowledge of what benefits and pitfalls are associated. There is high mutual respect so we don't make '911' calls unless it is warranted, however, when we do, Louis always seems to be able to accomodate us (which I find amazing!) He also helps us anticipate problems. We may not end up taking his advice but at least we know what will happen if we don't which is greatly appreciated. As I'm guessing many people do, we always seem to want something fixed immediately (its broken, right?). When this occurs, Louis will provide a real time estimate and without explaining the actual computer-'ese' behind the fix, will help us understand why his estimate is critical to the problem being rectified for good. Louis' communication style is always consistent. He is low key even when he is executing with a sense of urgency. And when my hair is on fire because I broke a shoe lace, let me tell you how much I adore THIS quality about Louis! Computer issues don't bring out the best in anyone and yet Louis always maintains a cool head and will responsibly lay out every option and the consequences of pursuing each one. he has too much respect for us to imply whether a consequence is necessarily positive or negative even if he has an opinion - he will simply help us narrow the choices, one by one, until a decision that is best for us is achieved. He can be as exhaustive or as circumspect as we prefer. In a word...he is perfect in helping us navigate the increasingly slippery world of computer technology.

I have used a few services before, but not until I met Louis was I completely satisfied. I know I can count on him to promptly return calls and in every case he's been able to quickly diagnose and solve my issue. He is a treasure and I'm lucky to have him so close by. It's wonderful in this day and age to have someone who makes housecalls. He's very patient, pleasant, and punctual. He's never once made me feel rushed or as if I didn't know what I was doing. I'd highly recommend his services to novices and experts alike.
