He really wanted to personally ensure that clients got their belongings moved safely for a fair price. When it came time, in August, to move everything out of my large bungalow, into a small two bedroom apartment, of course I chose Reliable Movers. Many of the well known moving companies had horror stories in the "1 star" reviews....didn't want to risk it! His foreman, Isaac, warned me how much stuff I had, and unfortunately DOUBLED Aaron's estimate; since I had a MASSIVE amount of files, books, unattended mending, in addition to furniture, pots & pans... basically enough for a family of 6!!!! Isaac's crew of 4 spent all Sunday wrapping everything in paper, and putting it in boxes safely. Delivered furniture and "stuff" to my small two bedroom apartment. and rented storage facility on Monday. Fun Fact!!! Don't use bubble wrap for things that you will store for a long time: unless your storage facility is totally climate controlled, you can get condensation inside the bubble wrap and it can get mold!!! The men maintained a great attitude, and were very respectful to this currently single woman. There were no unexpected up-charges, no holding my belongings hostage if didn't pay "said up-charges", like the horror stories I have heard about other movers. Everyone was very kind, even though I was quite over-whelmed and had trouble making decisions. It hurt my wallet to pay the adjusted amount, but the price was FAIR, given the amount of work the crew did. They literally worked from 8 am until 7 on Sunday, with only a break for water. Monday, moving day was the same, but I got them McD's breakfast sandwiches.... gotta provide some fuel for the men!!! You are both in your mid 40s and neither of you are in any shape to move her whole apartment down three flights of stairs and back up three more. So you get off your overnight shift and start looking for movers. Two of the places you contact are booked, not surprising as it's the last days of July in Chicago. You happen across Reliable Movers and take the chance, sending them a project request. Lo and behold they have an opening the NEXT DAY due to a cancellation. They send you the hourly rate which is more than reasonable and immediately call them. Not only is the owner super nice on the phone but hilarious. In less than ten minutes we had an official quote, signed contract and deposit paid. The next morning you get a call before your start time of 9am stating the movers hit no traffic and are ready to start early. You head downstairs to move the cars which you blocked space for the truck because Rogers Park parking. The movers come upstairs and start wrapping up furniture and you head to the second location. When the truck pulls up again, you move your car again for the ease of the truck. The offload took less than an hour! All payments were taken quickly through Zelle. All stories aside, the movers and owner are amazing. They accommodated a late scheduled move and came in right at the quote price (minus the addtional charge for some boxes which I approved). One mover placed his…read moredrink on several pieces of our furniture, carried items while drinking, removed his shirt inside our apartment, and used our electricity to charge his cell phone without permission. Additionally, the movers dragged heavy items across the new flooring, banged furniture into walls, and dented the woodwork in our new apartment. Upon beginning the move, they caused 3 boxes of breakable Christmas decorations to fall to the floor. Furthermore, one mover's poor hygiene resulted in an unpleasant odor in both apartment locations. Regarding the billing, we were significantly misquoted. The final bill was $500 higher than the original estimate. The foreman on entry to our home and from his initial visualization verballv confirmed to us both that this was a iob size that was accurately quoted and in line with the video we sent to the company. We never received a revised quote, nor were we informed during the process that the move was taking longer or would cost more. Notably, the 2-mile journey between apartments took the team 50 minutes, a drive we completed in 14 minutes at the same time. The delay was compounded because the foreman trained a new worker on our dime, which ultimately slowed down the whole process as he frequently stopped to explain tasks, correct mistakes, and address unprofessional behavior. Finally, I am deeply disappointed with the management's handling of this matter. I filed a claim immediately following the move and was told it would be resolved over the weekend. A week later, I was informed that a family emergency would delay the response. It has now been two weeks since my last contact, and my messages are currently being ignored. All we wanted was a refund for one hour of moving time (matching the original quote). I will not use or recommend this company to anyone. I would highly recommend using a more established/experienced moving company.

Don't know if that has changed because they won't respond to my emails. This is my experience with a move to Remember. I moved in September. They broke a vintage antique marble table. I filed a claim with them in the hopes of having them fix it, or financial compensation. A move to remember has been unresponsive in trying to resolve my claim.They took the broken table pieces after the move saying they would try to have it fixed. It is now April and I still do not have my table, any monetary compensation, and have not heard from the claims department or anyone from the company in over a THREE MONTHS. Since September, I have been going back and forth with this company trying to resolve this. It has been months of radio silence, then getting some communication emails, then more radio silence again for months. In one of our infrequent email discussions in January, they communicated that they are in deliberation trying to resolve some other issue and as a result of the deliberation and lost wages, the company was at the time, unable to resolve claims. They stated that they would circle back to my claim in March in hopes they could resolve it by then. This is despite us having a signed contract that stating claims will be resolved after 120 days, and as such should have been resolved in January. Hopeless to have it resolved at some point, I followed up with the company back in March multiple times to see if they had additional updates. It is now mid April and I have still not heard back regarding my claims status. The last communication I received from them was the end of January. No compensation, no communication, radio silence, and they won't even give me back the pieces of my table. They broke vintage antique furniture and ghosted me. It was a move to remember and not in a good way. Oh also day of the move they showed up with one fewer movers than I was quoted for, told me the move would take longer as a result of someone calling out, then it took hours longer than their updated longer timeline. I was the first time slot of the day and they showed up about 1-1.5 hrs late and the move went well into the evening. Additionally, they randomly had supervisors on site to monitor how things were going from a process perspective, but these supervisors weren't helping the movers that were obviously exhausted. So I was quoted 4 movers, 3 showed up, 2 supervisors show up to just watch, and the move took hours longer than anticipated. Supervisors started helping at the end but what a weird experience. If anyone at the company reads this, can someone actually help me with this claim?

For my actual move day, I went from a house to a storage unit to our new home. Mykola and his team showed up just on time, provided proper communication ahead of time where we walked through the space - he took note of what needed to be taken, wrapped up carefully, including the moving of a piano, and asked great questions. They disassembled a variety of furniture such as a standing desk, couch, beds, and more. The entire team was incredibly efficient, polite and respectful of my property. When we were in the storage unit, they worked so effectively and cleared the unit in only 30 minutes! Once in the space, they were fantastic - they moved boxes into the correct room, double checked with questions, assembled furniture and at the end of the day, they finished in less time that I was quoted. Just to note - they do ask for a $50 deposit, and then, as part of my price, they request the first $500 of the full price to be in cash.
