What a gem of a store with amazing staff. I ordered online and it was filled within 10 minutes and ready for pickup! The curbside pickup option is great too and I'm just so impressed with the kind, professional, and warmness from the staff. read more

SO SO SO glad we found this place! I was totally overwhelmed on what food would be best for our new Doberman puppy, and we were greeted with SUCH a knowledgable team member there. She talked to us through the products and presented all the options that would be best - she just exuded knowledge on the topic and was very generous with her time. Our second stop in was just as good! Its a bit of a hike for us to get there but will 100% only shop there for our pets needs. Absolute gem, thank you for your kindness and help! read more

LOVE THIS PLACE. Their self serve dog wash is the best I've ever been to. And they offer you beer while you wash your dog! I loved that they had a private room so your dog isn't distracted but other pups. I also bought a toy here for my Great Dane... which unfortunately didn't last longer than a day. But I will be back for the dog wash! read more

Really excited about the new dog washing stations and fro-yo! My golden retriever is hard to wash in my shower at home (I don't have a yard) and this made it so easy! The high pressure water is pre-mixed with the perfect amount of soap so it goes directly under his top coat with minimal effort. He absolutely loved the lick mat which kept him distracted. I also tried the noise cancelling ear muff cover and he didn't mind it at all during the dryer. It was actually quite funny - he looked like a little nun. Well worth the money. His coat has never felt cleaner and softer! read more

This place is amazing! Every staff member is so friendly, knowledgeable, and a joy to work with. I brought my pup, George Michael, in for his very first bath outside of our home. Imagine a wild banshee screeching and flailing water everywhere while you try to coax them down from this emotional ledge. His behavior was *very* embarrassing, however the staff at Paws were so reassuring and kind. They even gave him an ear wrap that made him look like one of the Edies from Grey Gardens while I dried him. He didn't deserve it, but I did get him his favorite frozen puppy yogurt afterwards. Moral of the story: I love this shop! read more

Best pet store ever! Tons of great food. Owner is really nice and everyone there is extremely knowledgeable about the products they have

When you leave an establishment happier than when you arrived - golly, you've found a gem! This is the type of experience my husband and I had today at Paws of Chicon. We ran out of dog food days ago and have been cooking potatoes rice peas and carrots for our dogs but today they said "enough of this!" So we had to find a solution! Lines to the grocery stores are all extremely long so we were very grateful Paws of Chicon opened their doors to customers, even during this snowpocalypse of a week! Their roof was leaking into several buckets but you would never have guessed by our wonderful interaction with the owner. Super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful with whatever we needed. The store is quite lovely and stocked with an incredible selection of nutritious food, treats, toys and accessories - many of which happen to be made locally! Our fur babies are thoroughly enjoying the treats and dog food we bought for them today! Thank you Paws on Chicon - We look forward to becoming a return customer! read more

Great first impression of this cute shop! Came in yesterday to get some new food for my picky 7mo small breed pup. Keith took the time to show me different brands and explain the differences in each. You can tell this shop knows their stuff! Thank you for a great experience, I'll be back! read more

Don't worry if Google leads you down roads that are slightly intimidating because as you near this rad shop, the streets clear up like the clouds after stormy day. I attended the shops grand opening and had the opportunity to meet and hear out the owner. He truly seemed passionate about his business and animals. His mom joins him in the store, so be rest assured he's on his best behavior (ha). The shop itself has a massive variety of foods, toys, and health products I've never seen, nor heard of. We acquired a sample of goats dry food for our pup and he enjoyed it. During the event, we noticed small samples below the actual bags of products, allowing customers to have their pets 'try before they buy'. Yes, you can bring your pets inside! A real jewel, this place is... definitely worth a drive by , to show your pet some love! Parking is tight upfront, but the neighborhood adjacent to it, has plenty. read more

Wow, what a hidden gem in east Austin! This store has a great selection of quality pet food and treats. Dried beef lung treats for dogs?! I didn't know there was such a thing for a dog treat but my dog LOVES it!!! Everything here is high quality, reasonably priced and the owner, Keith, genuinely cares about his customers and their pets. Heck, this is the only pet store that was able to recommend wet cat food for my super picky cat. In her 13 years on this earth, she has never liked wet food until now (and now she only eats what comes from this store)! If you're looking for a locally owned pet store that cares about you and your pets, this is the place to be. read more

I am really glad I found this place. Chewy.com stopped carrying Fromm's, the dog food I give my dog, and Petsmart and the big pet stores didn't have it either. I was elated to find it here, and a huge variety of flavors. It really makes my life so much easier. The store is nice and clean. The owner is friendly and helpful. The location is perfect. It's so convenient that now I go to Paws on Chicon for everything my dog needs -- bones, treats, and little gifts for friends' dogs. read more

Thoroughly impressed! The local shop owner is super friendly and very knowledgable. He helped me pick out a new, affordable raw dog food. He also educated me on ways to control my dog's periodontal disease with diet and helped select better toys and snacks for her teeth. The pet toys were higher quality than I have found at other shops and many products were unique and locally sourced. The shop is clean and well organized. They host events and have several personal touches. read more

I just started going to Paws on Chicon, as I just moved into the area and also just adopted a puppy. But it's definitely the only dog store we'll be going to from now on. Keith, the owner, is so awesome. I had decided on a certain brand of food for my puppy, and instead of trying to sell me on brands he carries, he volunteered to order that brand for me, and to price match. There's also some really cool things that you won't find at the big-box stores. Doggy froyo, bay washes, and tons of high quality treats. read more

Today was the first of many future visits to the store; and I currently live in Lubbock. That should tell you how much the store impressed me! Keith helped me pick the right selection of supplements and treats, for both my pup and my busy schedule. 5 stars is not enough for how amazing this business is. I'm new to the area and live literally behind POC. I decided to splurge a little on my pup one day and went in there. From the start, they have been so kind and helpful. They were so attentive at check out and very very knowledgeable. I'm a little socially awkward so I was kinda quiet at check out until the employee started asking me about my dog which lead into conversation about dog food recommendations and teaching me things about dog food i didn't even know was a factor. Which believe it or not, lead me to learning new things about my dog and proceeded to give me samples of all kinds of dog foods. Following after that I got her a birthday cookie and they threw in another little sample dog food for her birthday. (yep. I'm that dog mom) and sent me a card thanking me for their business with a free fro yo token. let me tell you, if that is not detail oriented, i don't know what is. I am blown away by this place that they take the time to HAND WRITE thank you cards. But it gets better.... I lost my dog tonight.. She got out of my yard (little Houdini is now her nickname).. I nearly had a panic attack walking and driving around for nearly 2 hours looking for her.... A neighbor was kind enough to return her after she went to visit for a little while which i am beyond grateful!! Thank you neighbor. Following shortly after that, another neighbor (which recommended that I call Keith if i didn't find her because he would help me and had nothing but stellar things to say about him and the business he runs) that was out walking her dog and helping me look for Bella sent me a post where POC was on the case of reposting a picture of her that was posted in hope to be returned to me. I didn't even have to contact them, and they were reposting her picture. Thanks so much guys. I would choose POC a million times more before shopping at a corporate store again. So much gratitude for this small business in this helpful neighborhood. Glad I moved here! read more

I love this place! It's reasonably priced, well stocked with high quality ingredients, and the owners are as friendly as can be. I loved this store! The owner Keith is very kind, helpful and friendly. I took my dog with me, we were looking for something to mix with my dog's food so he could eat it because he didn't like the flavor I bought for him (lamb) and Keith suggested me to buy a chicken broth box, my dog liked it a lot! I am for sure going back every time I need to buy something for my dog. read more

Thank you Paws on Chicon and Thank you Keith! I live right around the corner and was out walking around with no intention of going into the store but as I got closer I saw the owner, Keith helping a customer out with their large dog food bag. While many owners might give this service it was how nice and respectful he was while doing it. On my way home I decided to stop in because I have had some issues recently with one of my dogs eating. Keith spent the time going over many options with me and helped me make a smart decision. Since then my dog has been eating much better! While I was already a fan and going to be a repeat customer, I recently received a sweet personalized letter from Keith appreciating my business. PLEASE if you live in the area check out Paws on Chicon! You will not be disappointed! Sincerely, Gabe - an extremely happy customer read more
