    Beans, rice, and toppings

This was our first time here and we were excited to find a Mexican place on this side of town. The chips were nice and warm and the salsa and beans were very tasty. I loved my blackberry margarita but a little bummed there was no salt on the rim so next time I'll ask if they can add that. The bacon wrapped shrimp I ordered was incredibly delicious and I layered it on a tortilla with beans, grilled veggies, sour cream, and pico and it was amazing! I also enjoyed the beans and rice on the side and thought my meal was delicious. My man ordered a carne asada burrito and we thought the meat was delicious however the burrito wasn't our favorite so next time we will try something else for him. The service was great and all the ladies were informative, nice, and attentive. The ambiance and atmosphere was nice too and it had an authentic vibe. I can't wait to try other items here when we go back again!!

The food was amazing and plenty of it. The service was great - no waiting. The cheese enchiladas were amazing - had a really good sauce. The ambiance was good considering it an open concept. Would return for sure.

My friend from Whidbey requested this for take out and called it "Island Mexican food". Maybe I'm too much of a mainlander but it wasn't my cup of tea. My fajita salad was just a few strips of beef with lettuce, eggs, uncooked mushroom, and a few bits of avocado. It didn't even come with any dressing. My friend got the carne asada and loved it, though it seemed like a small portion for the price to me. My wife got one of the biggest burritos I've ever seen; it was ok.

Came here starving after driving off the ferry! I was so happy to find this place off in the corner of a strip mall off the highway. Stuff tried: Enchiladas espinaca: spinach enchiladas which i havent seen on many menus. Great garlicky spinach inside two enchiladas. With the mexican rice and refried beans, a nice meal. Chile relleno: i almost always try this dish whenever i see it on the menu! I asked if i could get this a la carte (not listed as an option on menu) and they were nice enough to accomodate. Version here is pretty solid and the pepper still has a tiny bit of spicy heat! Complimentary tortilla chips were very fresh out of the fryer and were great with excellent salsa! Do yourself a favor and ask for some extra salsa to pour on everything.

Our favorite Mexican Restaurant here in Whidbey Island. The staff are always welcoming and friendly. The service is fast and the food are always delicious. The salsa and chips always tasted fresh. Our favorites are the combination menus. We like the cheese enchiladas, burrito with shredded beef, chile relleno and chimichanga.

Really, really good food. Great staff. Crowded at dinner time, but worth the wait. My favorite Mexican restaurant on Whidbey.

Excellent Mexican restaurant. Friendly, accomodating staff, plenty of menu selections and reasonably priced. What more could you ask for?

I used to work there, if only you people knew how careless they are. They don't use sanitizer for their silverware!

I love made to order guac, homemade salsa and fresh corn tortillas. Hands down might be some of the best tortillas I have ever had. The scratch marg was very tasty. Salsa was so good! Definitely give them a shot sometime if you are in the area and wanting to support a local business. The portions were huge and the food was delicious. Can't wait to visit again. Great service - highly recommend!

We were at a graduation and needed a restaurant that opened late enough. Other than bar food,…read moreethnic food always come to the rescue. That is how I found the festively decorated La Cazuela, at a strip mall with plenty of parking in Lynnwood. When we arrived, we saw a worker making tacos outside cutting meat from the rotating rotisserie. That is always a good sign. The inside was blasting loud music (make that very loud). By the end of the meal, I am fairly sure I lost some hearing. Be that as it may, the restaurant seems plenty legit with one large table full of diners who will later join in on the Spanish language karaoke. Our service was swift, mostly me asking her to repeat her answers since it was loud. Their menu has some unique and new-to-us dishes; we always welcome new finds and flavors. The Food: 5 Suadero Tacos, $15.75 - 4 Stars La Cazuela, like many Mexican eateries, offers tacos with different proteins, some of which I didn't recognize. I decided to ask the server what she liked best and ordered that, which was Suadero. When I looked up Suadero, the meat can be beef or pork. The cut is always from the portion between the belly and the leg, known for its smooth texture instead of grainy. These tacos definitely fit the description. As it turns out, the rotating rotisserie outside is the Suadero meat. They are quite good, well-seasoned, with a smooth bite. Definitely try this! Five tacos turned out to be a lot, a lot of food. Haha. Mexican Alambre, $18.99 - 4 Stars Menu: Grilled beef and chorizo, bell peppers, onions, topped with melted cheese, with rice & beans This was a flavorful dish that can be served in a skillet and with different proteins. In a way, it is a very "normal" dish - meat and cheese with veggies. The seasoning, the chorizo, with rice, beans, and tortillas gave it the Mexican spin.

One of the front desk staff recommended El Molcajete Mexican Grill, about a 5 minute easy drive away. Parking is right out front and there is plenty of it. Handicapped too, with no stairs or steps to get in or out. Nice, clean, welcoming and I LOVED the carved Mexican diningroom chairs with the hand painted agave plants. The artwork on the walls was mighty impressive too. Very pleasant. It was not crowded the night we went and it felt like a local, "regulars" crowd. Older, with lots of experience with the giant Margaritas served. I think there was at least one at every table. Husband tried the CAMARONES A LA DIABLA ($23): grilled shrimp with hot red sauce. Served with lettuce, sour cream, tomatoes, onions, rice, beans, avocado slices and tortillas. It was HUGE. The plate it was served on reminded me of the turn-table plate from a microwave oven! I tried the TACOS DE CAMARON ($23): grilled shrimp folded in three corn tortillas drenched with red sauce. Served with lettuce, sour cream, tomatoes, onions, bell peppers, rice, beans and avocado slices. I actually would have just ordered the regular street tacos if I had known mine was going to be drenched in red sauce. Both meals were tasty but neither of us could finish the huge portions. Staff is friendly & efficient. Food arrived very quickly too. There are two TVs on the wall, both tuned to some sporting event. I believe the sound was off as I also heard Mexican music quietly playing in the background. Nice place if this is your vibe for Mexican food (aka Tex-Mex). You won't leave hungry or unhappy, especially if you have a giant Margarita!
